Wings

Was visiting the Parx casino and came here for dinner. Huge place with a full bar and an entrance to the beer garden. Service was great and very friendly. Food was very good as well. The rotisserie chicken hot and honey was delicious. The wings were great. No one left hungry or thirsty!

Chicken schnitzel

We went for a celebrity dinner in the Parx Casino. Four courses, each paired with a beer from Victory brewing. First course was smoked mozzarella and ricotta fritters over tomato sauce. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Could have been seasoned better in my opinion. Next course was Orecchiette in a cream sauce with Italian sausage, rosemary and parmigian. The pasta was aldente and the sauce was cheesy and rich. The third course was chicken schnitzel with a frisee salad. The schnitzel was cooked nicely, it was crisp but was also underseasoned. The dessert was a butterscotch budino. It was a creamy custard with a crushed pretzel topping. If was the best part of the meal. Not sure I would do a celebrity meal there again. We didn't feel like it lived up to the billing.

3.5 Started off with the cheesesteak dumplings. They had a good flavor but were slightly overcooked. The fried chicken was finger licking good. Crispy crunchy breading with tender chicken inside. The mash potatoes were creamy and wonderful. The cheeseburger was cooked to order and also had a good flavor. The roast beef sandwich was on the dry side, could have had more meat to balance out the size of the roll The grilled chicken BLT looked good. Lots of thinly sliced chicken with thick slices of bacon. The service was extremely slow. We only had 15 minutes to eat our meal before our show started despite having gotten to the restaurant 90 minutes prior to the show starting. The manager did come over to apologize and took off our drinks while also offering dessert if we wanted to return after the show.

My boyfriend and I always enjoy sitting at the bar because the bartenders are so attentive. They also offer weekly specials that are both satisfying and delicious. Plus, the restaurant has a really attractive aesthetic. It's inside of the Parx Casino.

Chicken wings

Drinks were good. Food was not the best. Worst crab I've ever eaten, chicken tenders were so dry. The wings and the friend chicken sandwich were good. Service wasn't bad. Ambiance is fine. Nothing exciting.

Far exceeded my expectations of a restaurant within Parx. The service was slow in the beginning and we sat for atleast 20 mins before being greeted. However, the food and drinks were phenomenal. The dishes were fairly priced, around $23 each and drinks were $14. The "Peachy" was amazing!

Cobblestone streets. Around every corner is a sign or plaque boasting about this city's history. From the outside, it looks like you're walking into an old bank. Inside, it's just about 6:00 PM and the place is packed for happy hour (one of the few places, by the way, that has happy hour until 7:00 PM) and for one of the monthly talks sponsored by local science museums. As soon as I walked in, they found us an open spot right up front. A cheery waiter took our order - the $8 burger sliders didn't come with any fries, but they were tiny and delicious. I love the idea that this place sponsors monthly science talks. Just a bunch of nerds all gathered here to listen to local experts talk about different topics. One week it might be about rare Galapagos birds to how to preserve fossils or the etymology of vampire lore.

We ordered a couple of types- Korean bbq and pickled something. The kids quickly noted that the pickled version wasn't saucy, tasted dry, and was flavorless compared to prior visits. They seemed to know their wings and the PJs standard to be aware something was off. I mentioned to the server and she indicated that corporate HQ changed the sauciness of the wings and they weren't that way anymore unless requested. The kids were taken back by this and noted it's the sauce that makes them good, and that these were dry and flavorless. I had to agree as a new customer to PJs that they were flavorless and comparable to a natural wing. We all thought the boneless Korean bbq wings were decent. The restaurant is nicely situated with a mix of tables and bar area with TVs scattered throughout showing sporting events. We visited on a Saturday so college football was displayed. We left confused and wondering if the change in wings was the new norm or a one-off. The server was nice and attentive to start but never came to ask us how the food was until we were nearly done and I volunteered concerns from the group. The kids agreed this wasn't typical service of PJs either.

The food was as expected for a "sports bar". In comparison to some of the other reviews, I didn't have high expectations because I knew I was walking into a sports bar and not Ruth Chris. We had the started platter that had a little of everything for an appetizer, burgers and wings. The wings were really good and crispy with a lot of flavor. The mango habanero had pieces of mango which was a nice touch. Overall, I could see myself coming here again for happy hour with friends but not necessarily a go to spot for weekly dinners. It's more of just the norm for this environment, nothing special.

Have been meaning to get over to Standard Tap to check out Chef Patrick's new menu (I've been…read moreeyeing it up online for the last several months.) It was finally a gorgeous Sunday morning, so we headed over for brunch on the upstairs patio. It's one of my favorite spots in the restaurant where you can have a nice view of the street, feel the breeze, and peep the herb garden on the roof deck. I chose the Hugh Spritz for my brunch cocktail which was the perfect mix of elderflower, mint, lemon, and champagne. A great start. We shared a trio of appetizers including the radicchio and peach salad, summer sausage plate (I forgot how much I love summer sausage), and fried green tomatoes which were especially lovely with fried capers. For my entree, I enjoyed the omelette with fromage blanc and jamon serano. The cheese was copious and just the right amount of tart. Went great with the ham. We topped off our meal with peach cheesecake and a new dessert caller Portokalopita - a sturdy cake made with phyllo dough - very interesting to look at and pleasant to eat. Our server, Hayley, made great recommendations for both food and drink. We always enjoy Standard Tap and feel lucky to have it as a go-to spot in our neighborhood. The dinner menu never disappoints, so looking forward to being back soon to try the new seasonal dishes.

Stopped by for dinner since this place was one of the restaurants doing a restaurant week special…read more(January 2026). $45 for 3 courses. In general I would say this didn't feel like a $45 meal. Food was fine but I was mostly unimpressed? To start we ordered the radicchio pear salad and the potato croquettes. The salad was missing something although i can't really say what. Just kinda eh. The potato croquettes on the other hand were very yummy. Hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Paired with a delicious garlic onion spread. For entrees we did one of each option: the trout and short rib. Both dishes could have come out way hotter. Trout had a great sauce but the fish itself was average. Short ribs were pretty solid and better than the fish. The "coffee braised" part of the description confused me. There wasn't even a hint of coffee. For desserts we did one chocolate mousse and one panna cotta. Mousse was really good. Extremely rich and the cherry sauce on top was a nice touch. Panna cotta was alright. A little on the gelatinous side. Overall we didn't love the restaurant week offerings however I'd still come back. We noticed there were many people around us eating burgers that looked great! I'd come back to try a burger and a pint. Maybe it's just not the place for trout and short ribs
