It's the perfect stop for lunch, to pick up local wine and gifts, or to browse unique, health‑forward snacks. The deli in the back was great; we ordered a salad and a spicy chicken salad sandwich, both fresh and flavorful. They also have a big grab‑and‑go section filled with fresh pasta, dips, and sandwiches. I love that they carry a large selection of local wines and locally made goods -- such a good spot for a meaningful gift or a Ramona souvenir. The café was also excellent; the coffee beans were from Joshua Tree Coffee, and the chocolate chip cookie was amazing. Plenty of parking, lots of options, and a fun stop overall. A great addition to any Ramona day trip.

So I'm guilty of not making the trek into Ramona for the full experience, but I snagged one of…read moretheir blueberry pies for Christmas when I saw them sitting at Frazier Farms! They were sitting right next to the Julian pies and it kinda looked like a fight, like a battle of the mountain bakeries kind of fight. Needless to say, I grabbed both because everyone immediately glorifies the Julian pie so by including the Ramona pie, my objective was to introduce some low risk novelty for my Christmas get-together. I didn't have high hopes for Ramona's blueberry because I was suspicious of the huge bready looking crust roll in combination with the sticker on the front boasting "no seed oils". I'm not fluent in baking alchemy. I was raised on Costco pie (bleh). So, I thought this was going to be dry and overly sweet but much to my whole family's surprise, Ramona was the winner! My takeaway: Do not discriminate the chubby crust roll! Take it from me because I'm a savage that eats a pie right out of the fridge. The crust is like a shortbread cookie. It's almost on the Italian pastry spectrum. Very delicious. Very coffee friendly. The blueberry filling was also perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet and even with the crumble topping, I felt like I could eat it with yogurt in the morning and trick myself into calling it a wholesome breakfast. Now, I'm going to say this with a huge shield up... but it knocked the Julian apple pie way off the shelf for me.

Well Today was the day I found out what the taco talk was all about. Nice little Mexican Market with a nice selection of food items. Has a nice Butcher Style Meat Counter and a decent selection of meats to choose from. They have Fresh Tortillas brought in each day hot and fresh ready in a giant Insulated Igloo Cooler. The sweet lady I met and the butcher who also cooks some tasty Street tacos I tried were very friendly and helpful. The prices were very fair with most tacos going for $2.49ea. Stuffed with tender Meats of your choosing and topped with your choice of toppings. The in house made Hot Sauces both were excellent. Put a smile on my face. I ordered two each of, The Carne Asada Tacos. The Al Pastor. Tacos. The Carnitas Tacos. And The Lengua Tacos. Wow was i surprised. I never expected to like them all but I did. I ate one of each there and took the other four home for later. 30 seconds in the microwave and they were just as good as the ones I had earlier. I'll be coming here a lot more now that I know how tasty they are. 8 Street Tacos and a Bottle of Orange Soda Wes $25.67 out the door. Very reasonable by todays standards. Sadly they only have two tables inside and none outside. Must do alone of takeout. This place is well worth a try anytime your in Ramona. Check out the menu pictures. The zoo tickets are sold in the little store as well as the chicken and goat food. We bought some honey, salve, and soup. A little on the pricey side but I'm supporting a small business so to me it's money well spent. The kids had fun feeding and petting all the animals. They played a little on the playground. They had out houses for the restrooms We spent a couple of hours there and you can totally make a longer day of it if you pack a lunch and sit on the benches Sweet family time fun.
