I've been here twice and was super impressed with their customer service and prices; The first time was to copy a non-standard size key for my storm door that none of the regular stores could do - she used a cabinet door key and assured me I could return them if they didn't work right (they worked perfectly). I called them earlier today and they were able to come out within hours (there was no emergency). The tech called me when he was on the way and was promptly on time. He was friendly and helped me to make the best decision that fit my needs. I had just purchased this home and the deadbolt and plate were off. He was able to fix it quickly and it was better than before. The tech was friendly, professional, and neat in appearance. I liked that he had all the necessary tools on hand and had his license card visible. (I forgot his name, but he did a great job today). I made the decision I wanted a high quality safe, did LOTS of research, and came to the conclusion an American Security (AMSEC) was the best choice. I contacted multiple safe sellers to get quotes. Kevin Plummer from Liberty was willing to make a site visit (before I even decided who to buy from) to make sure it was possible to deliver and install the safe where I wanted. I feel that customer service with this company is lacking. I called at 8:30 am to schedule an appointment for a locksmith to unlock my door and was give the window of 10 - 12 pm. 1 pm rolls around and the locksmith still hasn't shown up. I called their office and was informed that I was "next" on the list and that the window of time is only an estimate. I informed the lady i spoke to on the phone that I understand things come up and the locksmith may tend to encounter additional problems at the previous job site, however, a courtesy call would have been nice and helpful to manage customers' expectations. read more

This is a short review, but had I known about their key copying abilities from Yelp beforehand, this would have saved me a ton of time, so: go to Liberty Lock to copy your keys! Other stores have limited key inventory, and will direct you here anyway! After spending the better part of an afternoon going from hardware store (Home Depot) to hardware store (Sears) to copy a key and failing, Liberty Lock was FINALLY able to copy my apparently very old/out of style key in about 2 minutes while being incredibly friendly, despite the store being packed during closing time. Unlike what I've read about other DMV locksmiths, I didn't have to go back to get the key fixed, as it was perfect and fit in my door when it was copied! I came here because I was running an errand for my mom. We had gone to Home Depot to copy our house keys, but with error as usual. Finally, we decided to try a real locksmith. My friend and I were greeted promptly by Joe, who was more than happy to help us with our keys. We had wonderful small talk and he gave me a discount on each key since we were buying so many! There is no such thing as a cheap locksmith but Liberty Locks is honest, helpful and very reasonable. After using the cheap locks at Home Depot that kept on wearing out after a year because the lock was exposed to rain, I went to Liberty Locks and they got me the lock I needed and never had another issue. I have been back there several times for my extra keys and they even got me back in my car after I locked the keys in it. These guys are super nice, reasonable priced and trustworthy. read more

I highly recommend Liberty Lock. Michael came to install a sleek Samsung digital lock for me today and the whole process went like a breeze. On-line, there are lots of complains about how hard it is to get this particular lock installed and I called 7 locksmiths around DC all said no they cannot install the lock. Finally Paul at Pop-a-lock and Michelle at Rockville Lock and Safe took the time to look at the lock and kindly referred me to Liberty. I spoke to Daniel on the phone initially about the lock, he asked me to send him pictures of my current lock, details on the new lock and said if anyone can do it it would be Liberty. He was right! This place is awesome. Every time I need speciality keys copied, I come here. I got tired of wasting time going to Home Depot just for them to tell me my keys can't be copied there. Our home is 90 years old with gorgeous original wooden doors. Unfortunately, it also had the original outdated locks, which were not at all secure or effective. Although we were quite concerned about damaging the architectural character of the house, we hired Liberty to install new deadbolt locks. Darryl was great to work with. He called in advance to confirm times, located very high quality antiqued hardware that perfectly matches the original hardware, and installed them so they look nearly original.
