Liberty Mechanical provides outstanding service at a great price. Obviously purchasing a new furnace is a lot more stressful than buying a new appliance (like a Fridge or Dishwasher) and there are lots of choices when choosing someone to install a furnace and lots of options available. We interviewed 6 different potential contractors and chose Liberty Mechanical because we were impressed with Clayton and because of the good price we were getting for the install as well as a company who can provide annual service and maintenance if we encounter any issues. Due to HVAC code changes we were unable to put our old furnace where our current 1960's furnace was previously located (in a hall closet), we instead had to move it to our attic. I had concerns about where the furnace was going to go because we use our attic for a lot of storage. Working with Clayton and his team, we were able to place the new York furnace in the far corner of the attic to keep it out of the way, we already had planned on replacing the 60 year old duct work on my house, Clayton and his team were able to mount the duct work to the ceiling to give me easy access to the attic storage space. The installation Team lead by Ryan did a fantastic job they arrived on time and were able to finish everything on time and even helped seal up the holes where the old furnace was. They also were very clean and neat and cleaned up after themselves while they worked, at the end of Day 1 and at the end of the job. They also installed a Nest smart thermostat which I love which I can control from an App on my phone. Over all we had a great experience from the entire team, from Loni in the main office, from Clayton the HVAC specialist who designed the system, from Ryan/Gustavo who performed the install. We are thoroughly enjoying our new 96% efficient furnace and not missing the dirty old 1960's era behemoth that was removed. Our house is much more comfortable now! I rarely post my own reviews for Yelp, but after utilizing the services of Jake at Liberty Mechanical, I had to say something about just how pleased I was with his services. My wife and I bought a home in East County without air conditioning, and after the first summer realized that that wouldn't hold for much longer! We were recommended to check out Liberty Mechanical by a family friend. Jake at Liberty took the time to inform us of all of the requirements for our installation, being thorough with our options without being pushy with ' upgrades ' like so many home services can be. He arrived the following week with his partner and a smile, and quickly went to work. Key moment: At one point, I heard him explain to his partner how to perform a specific protective feature in our closet hallway, saying, "I always make sure to provide the extra protection for these units - most people don't do this anymore, but it's the right way to do the job, and how we do it." I don't think he heard me, but he won me over with the extra initiative shown to do the job in the best way possible...I only wish the people we bought our flipped house from were like Jake! All of this work was done orderly, promptly, and without complaints on an extraordinarily hot day to be in our attic...I would call him again, anytime - his business is the kind of business that deserves to take some time to tell others about! read more

She is right in stating they got someone out in less than 24 hours, which was greatly appreciated, however the tech was horrible. The reason we asked the technician to leave was not because of the fee, which we were aware of ahead of time, but because he was rude to my son, my wife, and myself. When he began to insult my wife and make accusations is when she asked him to leave our property. When my wife called and spoke with the owner, she didn't care to hear about it. We ended up having another company come and fix our system. They said it was improperly installed and they used the wrong type of conduit on the outside. Liberty Mechanical may have been cheaper but the reason is their quality of work and customer service. read more

Jake, Loni and the rest of the team are the best! We were looking to move our furnace up into the attic and add AC. Jake came out and made us feel comfortable and was honest in his opinions. The crew did a great job and we LOVE IT!!! I needed a duct adjusted because it was in the way of a pocket door installation and Jake came out and fixed it in no time! Jake was amazing. He did our HVAC inspection when we were in escrow, definitely knew his stuff, and really impressed us with his no-nonsense attitude and knowledge. I recently had Liberty Mechanical replace the HVAC system in my condo. The existing system was installed by the previous owner and was only about 5 years old. Of course since they knew they were moving, they went with the most inexpensive system they could find...and I paid the price. After many, many service calls on the existing unit through the home warranty company, I decided I probably needed to replace the system (after the smoke detectors went off when I turned on the heater!). When my formerly preferred HVAC tech kept flaking out on me, Jake at Liberty was recommended to me by my boss and a co-worker. Jake came out and looked at my existing system and pointed out the inefficiencies and problems with the system. He was very straight forward and honest about my existing setup and didn't try to pad his bid with unnecessary items that I didn't need like the three other contractors who bid the job did. Loni in the office was excellent, she was very easy going, funny, and worked around my schedule to get everything worked out. The day of the install, Cory and Randy showed up exactly on time. They were clean, polite and professional. It was a little challenging to get the outside unit through my front door (after carrying it up 14 stairs) to the back patio, but they managed to get it in and somehow managed not to damage anything, which amazed me! Additionally, they answered every question I had ( and I had plenty!) and explained everything they were doing. They left the house cleaner then it was before, completely explained the system to me, and now my place is comfortable again. Cory and Randy were excellent and I was extremely impressed with how hard they worked, their professional behavior and most importantly, their respect for my property. NextDoor.com neighbors made several recommendations for replacement of my non-working 40+ year old attic furnace. One neighbor raved about Liberty and Jake's knowledge and patience. I will too! Jake explained options and made recommendations after looking over the attic, house layout and my preferences. He didn't try to upsell, or tell me I need the latest anything, or tell me I should keep up with what my neighbors are doing. (Other companies did those things.) On installation day Jake and his crew were respectful of my house and me, they quietly dealt with old equipment and old timey wiring (and I don't know what other old-house surprises), and even managed working in tight space with my o-l-d pull-down ladder. When they left, my house was warm (and clean), the new thermostat was set, and Jake had cleaned and fixed up an original air filter system (that nobody else understood). The city will come to inspect and Jake will come to my house one more time. Thinking about the time Jake, his crew, and his office staff have spent on my little house, I'm happy with his reasonable costs. This company is the elite of the Hvac world. They installed an air conditioner and heat pump system at my house in Ramona. Their prices were competitive, they were here on time and every time they showed up to my house they were super courteous,polite, and professional. Loni is super personable, easy to talk to on the phone. They make you feel like you're their highest priority. Completely honest and integrity and do what they say they're going to do, which has gotten to be a lost quality. I talked to 5 other Hvac contractors before deciding to go with Liberty mechanical and was shocked at how crappy the other companies were. Just getting people to come do an estimate in the time slot they promised to be here in was impossible for most of them. I am a tile contractor myself, and I work in residential. So I have really high expectations. They far exceeded my expectations, I am super impressed with them. After the work was finished, the system needed some adjustments. Every time I called, they returned my call immediately. They came right back to take care of the issue and it works great now. There's potential complications and problems in anything but it's the manner in which they immediately took care of it fully and even waited 20 minutes for me to get home from work to let them in to take care of it that really impressed me. I had to write this review, to tell everyone about Liberty Mechanical ! Our AC went out last week, so I called my regular AC GUY . Well, he did a patch work job, he informed us that our system was going dead and he informed us that a temporary solution would cost 1500 and that a total redo of a4 ton unit is what he recommended would be around $6000. Well I didn't like the sound of that , so I called my best friend and he informed me about LIBERTY MECHANICAL, and the owner Henry ... and he got to the house real quick , did a quick survey of the situation . Henry put in a capacitor and made the house ice cold !!! charged next to nothing even though he had to come from the other side of town and I would highly recommend this company and this gentleman to anybody who has ever had a bad time with the AC company these guys are the real deal and I just wanted to say thank you Henry and he did a hell of a good job !!! read more

Jake came out to fix my AC unit that had stopped cooling during the recent hot spell. Overall, Jake was punctual, friendly, ready to work, and professional. Jake diagnosed the problem promptly and told me it would be $277 to replace the capacitor, and I said OK. He replaced the capacitor, tested and cleaned everything, and even checked my other AC unit. Overall, he completed everything in about 45 minutes. He left me a lump sum bill of $277. After Jake left I Googled the price of the capacitor and found that it was $35. So, in essence, I paid $242 for less than an hour's work. Is that excessive? I'll let you decide. Also, Jake did not have a credit card swiper, so my credit card information remains written on the invoice - time to modernize guys and upgrade your credit card security. read more

Jake and his team were exceptional. They removed and replaced our old duct with new R-8 duct work, upgraded our old registers and installed a whole house fan that we purchased directly from another source. Their pricing was fair and their service was excellent. I really appreciated Jake's knowledge and attention to detail. When he came out to quote the project he thoroughly reviewed our existing system and found some additional flaws that weren't point out by other bidders. He included these other repairs in the scope of work. Going with the absolute lowest price is not always the best value. I value quality service at a reasonable price and would not hesitate to use Liberty again or recommend them to anyone looking for a great Hvac contractor. BTW, they initially indicated the job would take a day and a half, but got it done in one day which was a real plus for us. read more

Jake has now come out four times for four different problems and or concerns. Jake has done such a professional job and treats us extremely well. He is fair and very considerate. We received a phone call prior to each visit and an email reminding us of the visit. Jake corrected an air conditioner pan that was put in incorrectly years ago by another company. He replaced an air conditioner,serviced air conditioners ,added an air duct to a room and moved a thermostate. All jobs were done cleanly, professioally and correctly. He cares about the customer and the customers time. It is never fun to have a problem with air conditioning or heating. Jake makes it less painful. Always a pleasure to call the office and work with Jake when I have to have my air conditioners worked on. read more
