He asked us a few questions and then set out to figure out what our problem was. Within 10 minutes he had located the problem, discussed it with us and went to his van and got the required part. Tested the air conditioning unit to see that it was working as it should, which it was he said he wanted to check on the heater. Showed us a very dirt filter and said all he needed to do was hit it with water to clean it. Alex was very knowledgeable and professional. Just a warning, this review is going to be pretty long. But if you're thinking about reinsulating…read moreyour home, that's a pretty big task, so I'll add as much detail as I can to help you! Background: The credit for green energy was ending in 2025, and I had always wanted to reinsulate my home because it was so cold in winter and super hot in summer. I went through many different companies and seeing how people felt about them, and I saw a lot of horror stories. I called up a few companies and found out that insulation is kind of like roofing, where a sales person and a tech comes, where the tech looks around and the sales person tries to scare you into using their company right then. They might say something like "your attic is super hot" (that's normal, well, up to a point), or "we'll give you a special deal if you say yes right now". Just kind of shady stuff overall. One big thing that people mention is that while insulation is good, you need to airseal your attic as well - this was another thing I was looking to get done. Initial Meeting: So I was kind of expecting that when I called Attic Professional. Fortunately, that was not the case at all! From other reviews you might have figured that the owner, Bryan, is incredibly respectful and treats customers well. I got to experience that as well. One thing I was surprised at is he had inside shoes (the kind you see in Japan) and put them on and off when walking around the house. He went up into my attic and really dug around to look for issues like pests or mold (besides the poor insulation layers). We went around the home together to look for clogged vents. He didn't try to sell me on anything - I remember reading one review that said he didn't try to sell them things they didn't need, and that was my experience too. He said they could put more insulation in on my existing one, or take out the old one and put new one in; but neither would have a substantial difference. I went ahead and asked him to remove the old insulation and put new insulation in just for cleanliness. I even later changed my mind and asked for a custom insulation scheme - some fiberglass batting and mostly blown-in, and he had no problem accommodating that. Oh, and they would include airsealing gaps in the attic with fire resistant foam! Reinsulation: A few weeks later, he and his team brought his truck up to my house. They covered many surfaces with plastic drop cloth to prevent insulation from flying around - they taped doorways so I could come through, and they taped cardboard to corners in the house so their insulation blower tube wouldn't cause damage. They put canvas drop cloths on the floors to protect them. There was a bit of fiberglass and debris around after, but it was very, very minor. I understand how difficult it is to be flawless with cleanup, but these guys were very good. The work was smooth and quick - only a few hours. I didn't have to add much input and the team was in and out. Bryan left for another site for an hour or so, but everyone was just as respectful as Bryan, and they told me he was a very good person to work for. Always nice to see that the employees have a good opinion of the company as well. One thing that I thought was interesting is after they removed all the previous insulation, they let me look at the attic and see how they stapled their measuring tapes. Apparently, some insulation companies will scam their customers and fold up their measuring tapes so it shows more insulation than what's actually in there. I was able to verify myself that all the measuring tapes were correct. Bryan and I did a final check on the attic together and I was very happy. Above and beyond: A month or so later, I was very curious about the insulation and really wanted to optimize the house, so I got one of those FLIR guns (temperature sensor guns) to see if the attic was perfectly insulated. As expected there were a few spots that had a bit of uneven insulation (after all, nobody's perfect), but for the most part everything was good. I sent Bryan a text about these spots, and he immediately he and his crew to come add some more insulation and pack it in. Now everything on the camera looks great. I think it's pretty rare to find such attention to quality, and I was very impressed. Results: In the San Diego weather by home would average 63 degrees when outside it was around 48. Now, the house never drops below 68, and it averages around 72 year round. When it's 85 degrees outside, it might be 76-78 inside. I've seen the temperature inside crack 80 maybe twice in the last year, and never seen it below 65. This is with no heater, no AC running EVER. So TLDR: I would completely recommend using Attic Professional for your insulation. Take a look at their price, but I find their quality far outshines anything I've seen, and I think I got a steal of a deal (with the now-removed credit sadly).

We got a couple other quotes from other guys that were pushy with options and we knew they were giving us additional services even though it was obvious that there was no rodent activity in the attic. Bryan gave us a very competitive and reasonable price. His crew came, did the job, was super chill, and completed the job. House feels amazing now! If you find yourself with an HVAC need, try EJ first. When you call you get his direct line and he returns your calls quickly. We've used him for two needs. Once at our home and the other at our business. In our home our heater was creating a strange smell one night a few days before Christmas. He was able to get over the following afternoon and did a complete check-which was comforting since we hadn't had the furnace looked at since we'd bought the house years ago. We didn't find the source of the smell but it never returned. EJ left giving me some signs to look for and the comfort that we could call him anytime and he would be back to help. A few weeks ago the thermostat of our business wasn't working. Remembering EJ's thoroughness and genuine care I called him first. He looked over the system and sought a second opinion from his supplier. They determined that the system that we had for our business was larger than he had worked on before and suggested we find a larger company. His assessment was spot on and he knew just what he was taking about. (Unfortunately our experience with a larger known company wasn't as good, or honest as he was). Why does the AC go out in the hottest weather? Well, fortunately, we had Reitz Heating and Air Conditioning to the rescue. EJ, the owner, was great. He called back in a timely manner and fit us in the next day. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. Even though our system is about 10 years old, he didn't try to upsell us to a newer one with the latest features. I had the pleasure of dealing with Roy throughout the process and of all the companies we contacted he provided the most information down to earth explanation of what he would be doing. He inspected our current system and advised on what could be replaced and what could be saved in order to reduce the cost. We decided to go with a more efficient system with the view to saving more money in the long run. The entire relocation took about five days from start to finish, including installing a new AC condenser and the building of the furnace platform in the attic. Roy and his team were always respectful of my house and I felt that he was trustworthy. In addition to the relocation Roy added attic lighting and a particle board laid out in the attic to form a path to access the furance. The communication throughout the entire process was second to none and Roy was helpful in providing updates. The relocation of the furnace from our garage cupboard into the attic was handled extremely well, and included a number of redundancies in case of leakage. This was all explained thoroughly by Roy after installation. I will definitely be keeping this company in my list of preffered contractors and use them whenever I need any further furnace issues resolving.

It is a little over six months since I added a whole new HVAC system with electrical upgrade. The…read moreheat pump is a big plus. I never realized how noisy the old gas furnace was until now. The whole system is fabulous. As is the upgraded electrical panel to 125amps. The old panel was not strong enough to carry the demands of the house. I had breakers always popping off. Other companies who bid on the project said I had to go to 200amp, which turned out to not be true. And I now having air conditioning! Reuven, and the whole team at Clear, were a great with value, follow through, communication, installation, trouble shooting and in letting me know about grants that helped pay for the upgrade. I am deeply grateful and highly recommend them.
