Not a fan of this apartment...moved here out of convenience, but would never recommend. Firstly, the leasing price we were originally told wasn't the price we ended up getting because each day it took for us to sign the lease they added $7 to the final bill. On top of that, the place they showed us/ moved into, was ridiculously dirty, cobwebs, mold, rusty dishwasher, broken light switches and foul hallway smell. We haven't even lived here a year and we've had to replace a leaking dishwasher, two leaking toilet and dryer that didn't dry clothes throughly. But the worst of it all on a day like today where the temperature is -4 the thermostat isn't working properly, which is something we brought up to management last winter and they told us to put plastic on our windows...but this place is labeled as "luxury". Leasing office tried to claim that nowhere does the complex claim to be luxury when indeed it does. Also they went out their way to "update" the dog park but meanwhile the kids park is run down and out of date. But they have the nerve to send passive aggressive emails urging kids to not play in front of their apartments. Also, I don't get why the trash shoot is always broken, or why there arent speed limit indicators, or crosswalks or complete sidewalks. If their main concern is safety why not provide these safety measures for the residents. Packages are miss delivered/ stolen daily and the apartment complex does nothing about it, like adding package lockers or better signage. Or cameras at every doorway. From the moment my boyfriend and walked into the office door we have been treated like celebrities. Bree and Tiffany are absolutely the best office ladies anyone could ever ask for. The apartment is very spacious and clean with a ton of light. I absolutely love having a laundry room in my unit with a full size washer and dryer. The service team is always a call away whenever there was any kind of issue. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone who is looking for a spacious comfortable quiet place to live. They allow you to have pets but I honestly never hear them. I don't see a lot of families a lot of young professionals and couple's. I love how my unit has a private entrance with a big balcony looking over to the woods with a ton of privacy. No nosey neighbors. read more

The apartment itself in this complex is nice. I just want to warn people about the hidden fees for the water and sewer. They are not upfront when you sign a contract with them the prices are outrageous. Expect to pay more than a house or any other apartment you have lived in. It has questionable people living on this property, a lot of drugs and other sketchy things in the parking lot. Found used condoms in the parking lot as well. The trash is always overflowing, there are abandoned vehicles parked here. During move out they never communicated anything with us, I had to keep reaching out to see what to do. They were not helpful at all, so I just left the keys on the counter during move out day. Also, dog poop was everywhere and I stepped in it multiple times. Only giving this place 3/10 (1/5); because inside the apartment itself was nice. read more

I wrote to the office to coordinate times for Thursday or Friday because I noticed water in my light and a water mark. I was contacted via email and by phone on Thursday to see if that was still a good time and that maintenance would head over in a few minutes. He did not show Thursday so I thought he would be over Friday and no. Come to find out they closed the ticket and nobody came to look at the issue. I called the emergency number to have someone come by and that was the worst interaction. I was not home but the smart lock was unlocked and locked within 1min. I was told it looks like an intermittent leak and that this was not an emergency. Water wasn't pouring out so this was not going to be addressed. I was even asked(rudely) why I didn't contact this week.... I was also hung up on. So now am I uncomfortable because of the way in which I was treated but also the fact I have water in a light source and that it's not considered an emergency because it's not bad enough yet. read more

We've lived at Liberty Park for 2 years. We just bought a house and will be moving out. It's very quiet living here. Most of the residents are business class and families. Never had any crime either. It's close to stores and a 5 minute drive to Braintree train station or MA-3. What we were impressed with also: -Maintenance requests: when we submitted a maintenance request, they usually came same day or next day. Left a note with details of what was done. -Winter: Our apartment was never freezing cold. The building is well insulted. Snow removal and sidewalks were handled in a timely manner. -Summer: The apartments have refrigerated air A/C and it's glorious on hot humid days! Rent is a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. No complaints! read more

The staff is very attentive and responds to issues immediately. Tiffany and Alyssa are both extremely helpful in the office. Our apartment is very nice and the maintenance team is phenomenal. But there is only 1 spot for trash and the recycling fills immediately and spills out onto the ground surrounding it. The gun range can also be noisy at times if your windows are open. I would have rated higher but our rent increased $300 a month after the first year, and it feels like we got the bait and switch. read more

Liberty Park is a wonderful place to live! Neighbors are nice and the office staff is amazing! I can't say enough good things about the maintenance crew here! The apartments are good for just 2 categories of people. With kids, for school and pets. So you see a lot of both around. Prices are too hot go for the amenities. Maintenance team is very prompt in addressing issues but the front office is mostly curt to rude.(is that the job requirement ?) Community needs to be kid friendly with atleast the curbs mended and available in most places. Having more dumpsters/ trash pickup would be essential. read more

Quiet, well maintained and spacious. Lovely area especially if you have kids Or dogs. Front desk was always responsive and any repairs were addressed within 48hrs. I felt safe living there. Great pool area that was kept clean. My only complaint was their business area for printing/computers was often down. The office area itself was clean and nice but often the equipment was not working. Nice sized gym and the equipment was clean and well maintained. I really enjoyed my 2 years there and always recommend it to people looking at Braintree who work in the city. read more

I have lived here for the past year and overall it has been a good experience. However I am out of here in a few weeks, But before I leave I want to let future residents know a little about this place... The Good: The grounds themselves are really nice. I was lucky enough to get a woods view apartment. They have a little dog run, which is a small fenced in area where you can let your dog off the leash and let them run around. Keep in mind it is VERY SMALL. The office staff is always on the ball. I am amazed with all the residents who live here Alyssa always remembers my name and apartment number. The maintence people are very efficiant and usually rectify any problems within a day. The units have washer and dryers in them. The apartments are nicely laid out. The Liberty Park Shuttle is a great feature, it's a mini-van that will drop you off to the Braintree T station in the morning and does pick up at night. The night pick-up hours start at 5:30 so I never got to take advantage of the service because I work 8-4. The gym is really nice and clean and has a flat screen TV that you can control. And last but not least the bedroom closets are fantabulous!! The Bad: The noise from upstairs neighbor. The guy upstairs sounds like he is going to come throw the ceiling some times. It can drive a person nuts. I am not that type of person who complains about any and every noise either but truthfully one night when I was in my bedroom with the TV on a decent volume I could hear the guy upstairs snoring. So loud that I couldn't focus on the TV show because the sound was so distracting. During the winter months they didnt do a good job plowing and the driveway would often be very slippery with ice. There were/are giant holes in the pavement that would swallow your tire. (There still there BTW and it's May) They charge for WATER/SEWER.(Nothing is included in the rent) Everyone who I tell this too thinks it's crazy and they tell me it is illegal to make a tenant pay for the water/sewer. There is also a gun range on the same property so forget about a nice quiet sunday afternoon unless you like the sound of gun fire (it's not ridicously loud but you can definitely hear it) They increase the rent about 7-8% every year. And here is my last bad, I guess it could also be a good thing. They have to access your apartment alot (about once a month) for different thingslike checking batterys in fire alarms, cleaning out dryer filters,etc they will come into your apartment when your not home to do this and I was never crazy about that. All in all the good and the bad are about equal. This place is a little pricey. But if your not concerned about money, I highly recommend Liberty Park make sure you get a top floor apartment though. read more

I have lived here for almost 3 years. The first year here was wonderful. The staff was great and attentive. They offered fantastic customer service. The second year was a little less wonderful. Staff changes caused the customer service to be a little less wonderful, but still worth signing another year long lease rather than trying to find a new place to live. This third year has been terrible. The building is upgrading and renovating, which sounds wonderful. It means a huge increase in rent and I've had to live through a year of incredibly loud noise and inconvenience. The water has been turned off countless times. If you've read the other reviews then you are well aware that I am paying for my water. It is incredibly frustrating to pay for something and then have it constantly being turned off with only a day advance notice. I've received no compensation for all of the inconvenience at all. The walls are very thin and it's very easy to hear noise from your neighbours. I can usually hear the people in the next apartment talking while in the bathroom. The building also tries to get extra cash by instituting new rules whenever they can. When I originally moved in you were able to rent the party room for free, but now there is a fairly substantial fee to rent it. They are also starting to charge for 'premium' parking spaces, but when I moved in all parking spaces were free. read more

We have lived at Liberty Park since this past Summer and we love it! Our apartment has a private garage with plenty of room for storage and it definitely has come in handy in the snow! We love having a washer and dryer in our apartment, and we feel so comfortable in our home. The gym is great and the business center is so convenient. We didn't have much time to enjoy the pool last Summer, but we hope to this year. The staff, both in the office and mainenance, are all friendly and so professional. They are always there when needed. They are hosting a paint night in a few weeks and it seems so fun, I look forward to attending. I would definitely reccomend this community. The apartments are a great deal, especially in this location. I can commute to Cambridge easily by train, and they have a shuttle option that can pick you up right at their clubhouse. If I am driving, the highway is SO close. Groceries, shopping and restaurants are all within minutes. We also love going to Pond Meadow park, right around the corner. I plan on staying for quite some time! read more

Beware! This is by far the worst apartment complex I've lived in. Once you sign, they play a game of taking as much of your money as they can. They increase the rent 10% a year until you have to move out. They also tried to start charging (midway through our lease) for "free" amenities until other residents got lawyers involved. They started selling "priority parking" spaces as a backdoor way of introducing a fee for parking. There is dog crap all over the premises. Every three months, they come into the apartments with a day or two notice (probably illegal). The walls are paper thin. The utilities are outrageous. There is a shooting range next door. Some days it's quiet and others it sounds like WWIII. And to top it all off, when we moved out, they withheld as much of our deposit as they could without making it worth our while to sue. Then, a month after reimbursing us our security deposit, they sent another bill for the utilities - for a period after we had moved. On the plus side, they take your money hand over fist with a smile. I wish we had read the other reviews before we moved in. By reading this, you are smarter than we were. Diana O, I know you're reading the reviews. Liberty Park's amenities: fitness center, outdoor pool (sandwiched between the office and some trees, so it doesn't get a ton of sunlight except midday), business center (a couple of computers with internet connection), dog park, and playground. They have all-on-same-level 1-, 2- and 3- bedroom apartments. There is a centralized trash compactor / garbage dumping area and recycling area across from the dog park. You can file maintenance requests and those are dealt with generally quickly. Liberty Park/Equity Office (hereby annotated LP/EO) is also responsible for snow removal, leaf removal, and sand removal (the property is near conservation land so they cannot salt). This place is ~1.5 miles from Braintree station. Last I checked, there is still a shuttle (additional $40 per month) going to and from the station approximately every 15-20 minutes. The shuttle runs 6-8:30am and 5:30-8pm. It generally picks up from the dog park and the front office in the morning and drops off at your door in the evening. It's run by a 3rd party service. It's close to Stop&Shop (.5 mi). Rent varies on market conditions e.g., if they have a lot of vacancies or they have a lot of demand, and by the length of the lease. The shorter the lease, the more the monthly rent. In terms of renewal, they do try to raise your rent every year (although holding out and threatening to leave is a common counter strategy and does allow you to get a lower leasing rate.) They do have electronic payment through your bank which you can set up. One fact / caveat emptor: you are responsible for the apartment for the entire length of the lease. If you decide to move out early, you have two options: 1) pay until the end (even if you're not there or surrender the keys) or 2) ask LP/EO to try to fill your apartment and then you can pay until there is a new person renting. You are responsible for the utilities while you are there, and gas and electric are usually handled by 3rd parties (e.g., NGrid and BELD), and utility bills really depend on your usage, but are reasonable. Unfortunately BELD requires 3 months of deposit ahead of time if you live at LP/EO -- that's a BELD issue but just be aware. Water and Sewer is done through LP/EO's 3rd party billing, NWP and they tend to overcharge a bit. My estimate is anywhere from 25-60%. Unfortunately, there's no way to get around it (i.e., going directly to Braintree Water and Sewer). We bought a house in Braintree and with even watering the lawn and flowers and having a couple of people over to visit, we're paying less for our water bill. You can expect for cooking and showers and dishwashing that you're going to pay $25-40 per person per month for the water and sewer bill (total). About $100 per mo each for electricity/gas. Fellow tenants are generally considerate in their driving although they can go a little fast. They are also pretty good about watching for kids. They are generally pretty good at picking up after their dogs although once in a while there are some people who don't pick up. Occasionally the trash compactor breaks (only happened about 4 times over 2 years we were there). The recycling can sometimes overflow towards the end of the weekend. The staff has turned over quite a few people and it's not as productive to name names. Generally they are nice, courteous and professional. There is one manager (Diana O) plus a couple front office people and some maintenance guys, and the maintenance guys are pretty good. There's a shooting range next door and you may hear shooting especially if the windows are open. That being said, many former residents have articulated to me that they felt "nickle and dimed to death." The shuttle service used to be free of charge and then people on existing leases were grandfathered into $40 per month rate as their lease needed to be renewed. Anything related to money, LP/EO is relentless as a bloodhound in pursuing and zealous in relieving you of cash and as much as possible. Even if it's their fault (e.g., their contractor left the air conditioning on high with windows wide open), you're responsible for. As with the other one star review, we had moved out and had unplugged the fridge, and LP/EO claimed that we were still responsible for any electricity while the lease was in our name EVEN IF we did not directly incur the charges (i.e., if the contractor screwed up or used electricity, we were still responsible for it). I noted that there was rust in the tubs and was told quite a few apartments have rust in the bathtubs. We noticed mold growing in a couple of the back closets and behind our pantry (we suspected water was leaking from somewhere between the master bathtub/shower and the back of the pantry) and had to have it dealt with a few times over two years. I recently moved to MA from LA. I signed a 6 month lease with Liberty Park Apartments. As the lease came up to renew, I asked for a quote for a 1 year lease. Liberty Park apartments tried to charge me $400.00 more than the rate advertised on their web site for my apartment. I understand rent eventually goes up, but they should not be taking advantage of their customers by charging more to loyal tenants who live in the apartment than advertised on their web site. When I initially signed a 6 month lease I was told by Tiffany that I would pay slightly higher rates because I was asking for a 6 month lease, she indicated that I would "definitely" see a decrease in rent when if I signed a 12 months lease at the end of the 6 month period. Imagine my shock when the quote for a 12 month lease was 400 higher than the advertised rate, and higher than I was currently paying. I asked why my rent was going up, Tiffany told me "there is always an increase in rent". I again asked why I was being charged $400 more than the advertised rate, they offered to reduce my quote by less than a hundred dollars, but refused to honor the advertised rate. I argued with the management for two months before my lease expired. I have discussed this matter with Liberty Park management (Tiffany and Dianna) , as well as the Regional Manager (Stacey). None of the members of the Liberty Park/ Equity Residential team were willing to offer me the rate they advertised when I initially contacted them. This company is taking advantage of the fact that I am already living in their complex to charge me more rent than they advertise to new tenants. Equity Residential and Liberty Park Apartments pulled a Bait and Switch on me, I hope everyone sees this and thinks twice before they move into any property owned or managed by Equity Apartments. This company is TERRIBLE to deal with. They have pulled this scam on multiple residents. They bait the resident in with one rent, then SWITCH the rent to a higher than advertised rate once the resident has moved in and time comes to sign a new lease. DO NOT rent any Equity Residential apartment. They will try to scam you when you lease comes due. ** EDIT ** In their comments below the owner claims to be consistent in their pricing, which is based on market value. How does trying to charge me $400 more than the advertised prices qualify as consistent, market valued pricing? Any intelligent person realizes charging a renewing resident more than the advertised price is the exact opposite of consistent, market valued pricing. Consistent, market valued pricing would mean residents are offered the same lease value as on the web site. Buyer Beware... when i'ts time to renew, they will try to screw you. The owner claim their rates change daily, I'll leave that up to the readers to determine. Check their website daily, do you see any rates changing? **EDIT 2** The folks from liberty park complained and got the first review memoved. Good location and nicely maintained property. I have been there just over a year and overall I like it. Couple of issues. Kitchen & Bathroom floors are linoleum, cracked and worn - they won't fix / replace. Water & Sewer Bills (per apt) are ridiculous. I pay ave $50/mo and live alone. Electric Bill is HIGH in cooler months. They turn on an electric outside heater by the water heater and you pay the bill due to their stupid design. It's Boston - everything is a rip off.
