Garbage company. Absolute thieves. The bills fluctuate, regardless of how much you minimize your water usage they can't ever explain. They had to send my meter out because my bill went from an average of 200 to an $800 bill. They had no idea why they said my meter wasn't broken. Couldn't explain anything. Had someone come out and make sure there was no leak. The professional confirmed there was no leak. They still said I was responsible for the bill They're an absolute garbage company. They're thieves, and I cannot wait to never use them ever again. if you can avoid them do so at all cost. They'll shut off your water, even if your bill is paid and when you call them and let them know that they made a mistake they make you wait hours for them to fix their own mistake. They don't have estimates or time windows and they'll let you and your family go hours and hours without water. They do not care about their customers. read more

This is a very awful, unremorseful, inconsiderate company! They want to overcharge you and then threaten to shut off your water! I went on and paid them since they wouldn't reduce the bill when I called them and I need my water on! Now my money is short , barely paid my other bills, barely putting gas in my car and can't even buy groceries and been eating beans and rice for weeks! With them, you either go without bathing/showering but have plenty of food to eat or be clean and starving! read more

I recently scheduled a payment for a future date, but the company withdrew the funds immediately instead. I received an email saying "Thank you for your payment," which prompted me to call and confirm that the payment wasn't processed too early. I tried calling several times throughout the day with no success and also sent an email--no response. The following day, I called again and still couldn't get through to anyone. By the third day, I checked my bank account and saw that the payment had posted, pushing my account into the negative. I called again--this time, someone finally answered, only to tell me there was nothing they could do. It felt like they purposely avoided answering until after the payment went through. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and feels borderline deceptive. Unfortunately, this is the only water provider in my area, so I don't have other options. I plan to report this incident to the Better Business Bureau and may consult a lawyer about a potential class action lawsuit, as I doubt, I'm the only customer this has happened to. read more

We had a major water emergency here today involving fence install people for the neighbors destroying our valve box and main line by driving a heavy truck over it. Called Liberty emergency line about the issue and the tech literally put a replacement valve box on the ground next to the gaping hole without installing it. Multiple calls and guarantees someone would come today to handle the issue. Where are all our tax and service dollars going if they can't handle a simple and important request. read more

This is a review that champions for a negative Yelp review system for things like utilities and standard bills. This company would get -5 stars. This company SUCKS. Hard stop. They are the single reason to re-contemplate your move to Apple Valley. So much to like out here, but Liberty Utilities is the absolute hands-down, worst thing about having a home out here. What's that you say? How can I water company be so bad? You have no idea. Water bills that are regularly $400+? Thanks, Liberty Utilities! Want to pay your bill online? There's a cap of $200 or so you can pay online. You can break your payments up, but each payment will incur an extra fee. Thanks, Liberty Utilities! I could go on and on, but I can feel my anger rising as I'm typing. I've never dealt with a company that is objectively so bad while simultaneously pretending that they've never had a complaint before. Their customer service is rude, and besides making up non-existent and nonsensical answers to legitimate questions, they are the most money hungry profiteering company I've ever had the true displeasure of being acquainted with. They're vile and repulsive and embody evil--as much as a corporation can. If life were a movie, their executives would be the ones with the pencil mustaches living in places removed from society, eating babies and making people kill each other for sport. The average California household water use is 360 gallons per day, or about 11,000 gallons per month. Liberty Utilities swears I use over 25,000 gallons for a family of three. I hate them. You will too. Better yet, don't move out here and you won't have to hate them. They're undeniably and wholly terrible and you don't need that kind of toxicity in your life. read more

For basic necessities WATER. We are paying $450, WHY? I complain and complain and nothing gets resolved. There's no leak in my house. All my neighbors pay half of what I pay and they have more people. I think since I don't complain above manager yet, they keep my bill at tier 2-3 and we don't use enough to have to pay over $400. the take off when u need them like today the DAY AFTER hurricane Hillary storm !!!! the day when people need to contact their water co they took off - really? also they use speakerphones that are lousy and refuse to take them off when u beg them to - even after u explain u are hearing impaired and system doesn't work w their tunnel phones that sound like they are in Siberia some where under the earth. they refuse. they dint even stay open ( when they are there) til 5 no only til 3pm ! i was told. when they say theyll get back w u they dont & she wouldnt take my pmt cause shes working from home today! cause storm ended yesterday - sunday & they now mon dont want to hear the complaints nor people asking for help now? time to get out of Dodge. read more

The only utility company that makes me physically angry to deal with. They are the most expensive water company I have dealt with, the most difficult utility company to make payment arrangements with, they shut off water without posting notice as required and to add insult to injury you have to pay a fee to pay them!! On top of this if your bill is over 250 and you want to pay online or over the phone you will end up paying TWO convenience fees because it only takes payment up to 250 dollars. What kind of policy is that???? Water is basic human right, we need it to live and we have to pay a fee to pay our bill??? read more

Worst utility company in the West. They bill improperly. They shut off water without posting a notice as required by law, then lie on the phone about posting it. They send bills to wrong address and bill the wrong name. Almost impossible to manage property with this company in existence. Time to go public. It would be better than this. Amateurs. read more

I don't know what these People are thinking During the WORST PANDEMIC IN HISTORY!! When we are supposed to be washing our hands more than any time in Human History .. These Ignats decided to shut off water supply to our Neighborhood from 0800-1500 , Instead of Re-scheduling , or doing the work at night When most people are asleep and wouldn't notice are be inconvienced as much after Just one days notice ,( There should have been at least a week notice) They shut the water supply off , when I called to complain a very Complacent Rep , I forgot to get his name ( I hadn't had my Coffee yet ) said it was a scheduled repair to keep the water flow going ,I haven't heard of any breaks in the system , They just don't want to move things around to a better time ... And for this We pay the Highest Water Rates in the Country ..Time to let these people know we are madde'rn hell and are not gonna take it any more If any body has a good lawyer its time to put him ( or her ) to work on this.. Poor customer service. Very slow to answer and to return calls. When they called back, they said we will figure out the problem and call you back. I can only speak from my experiences with Apple Valley's Liberty Utilities services. Can't call them, I tried from a land line, cell phone, blocked number, nothing worked. The only number they gave was seen on many different sites and locations including the actual paper bill given to me and it doesn't work, can't connect to the online payment website either. Every payment link I ever bookmarked stops working the very next time I need to use it. I have Automatic Payment set up and still received a disconnection notice. Can't call nor check online to see what the problem is yet they are some how allowed to continue such horrible business practices. They should be held accountable. For a service no one can really refuse since we all need water I would rate them at a negative 10 if I could. read more

I've lived in Apple Valley since May of 1988. I'm on an 1.2 acre lot on Tonawanda Rd. Nearing completion of our new const granny hse which is 1515 sq ft. I phoned in back in December to get an idea of what would be involved for a separate water svc and meter. Was transferred immediately to their Engineer-Greg. He was helpful, professional and answered my questions. I went into their office a couple of months ago to apply for the add'l water svc and meter. Next thing I knew there was a field inspector at my door giving me the estimated crew date. Crew arrived in a timely fashion, worked hard and diligently. The foreman was courteous and professional. They left leaving the worked area clean. Once my contr hooked up the new waterline from our new hous to the water meter, there was a leak on the outlet of the meter. I phoned Liberty Utilities and the rep let me know the day of arrival. The crew made their repair and just left. In all phases of this process the steps were clear, simple to follow, and I'm pleased with the professionalism and courtesy I received. That's why the 5-Star rating cause they deserved it. I worked and retired from a Utility down the hill. I know that the reason I received such good service is due to their work environment and good supervision at their reporting job station. read more
