Writing this review two years later, because I still love my cabinets as much as I did on Day 1. In 2023, I met with Tom for an intial estimate for a custom living room built-in. He showed up on-time, was warm and polite, came prepared with cabinet door samples, and gave a clear picture of what to expect. He actively listened and proactively gave suggestions for paint and wood stains that would match well with my existing floors and decor, which was super thoughtful. Installation started on time, a few weeks after signing, was completed faster than promised (just 1-2 days, I believe), and I received periodic reminders before and during installation. There are two things that stood out to me about Tom and his team: 1) They prepped EVERYTHING before coming onsite, which meant little to no downtime for my living room. They protected everything before they started, and cleaned thoroughly before they left. I tried to find dust after. No way, no how. 2) Tom treats his work like an art, which is a key differentiator between him and other contractors, in my opinion. At the last minute, I asked for a rectangular cutout for a charging station, which just about broke Tom's heart. This is because the last-minute addition would mean his final product wasn't perfect, since the cutout had to be done on-site at an awkward angle, which made clean edges impossible. I was okay with that since it would be hidden from view, but Tom wasn't. He hesitated for a long time, but ultimately gave me my charging station, because he "wanted me to be happy." I still feel bad about it to this day, even though that charging station has come in handy SO MANY TIMES. Ultimately, the quote I received from Liberty Woodworking wasn't the lowest that I found, but it was certainly fair. And knowing what I know now after working with Tom, and seeing the integrity, high standards, attention to detail, and impeccable work of him and his team, I would work with Liberty Woodworking again in a heartbeat and would recommend anyone else to do so as well, without hesitation. read more

Called Liberty Woodworking to come take a look at my unfinished kitchen remodel. Tom came out and took a look at the job. He was honest and informed us that he can complete the unfinished work and match the cabinet design and color seamlessly. He was able to fix the shelves and doors that did not open all the way due to wrong measurements from another company. Needless to say Tom and Tommy saved the day. Tommy was meticulously working on the cabinets and shelves until they looked perfect. There was no sloppy work. They kept the house clean and came up with unique ideas that would repair some of the flawed work in a cost effective manner. Now please note, they may not be the cheapest bid, but if you want something done correctly and to perfection then trust Liberty Woodworking to get it done. These guys are skilled and professional. I'm very happy with the work Liberty did. I wasn't looking to drastically change my kitchen, just make it more productive. I sent an email to Thomas and he came over to give me an estimate. No pressure to sign anything. When I was ready he drew up an agreement with the total price, broken down by product. What I got was rolling drawers for my kitchen island plus a cloud roller for my blind corner. I lost some space for the blind corner, so I used it for another purpose. I really wanted more storage so Thomas suggested making a pantry. I had an existing small cabinet that wasn't really being used. He removed it and installed a custom made pantry with adjustable shelves and he color matched it so it complimented my kitchen. I'm very pleased with my decision and experience. I don't think he's the cheapest in town but he was upfront with me, and his quote was fair. He was excellent with communication and I had no surprises. read more

I called Tom @ Liberty to help reframe a built-in wine refrigerator. He was clearly a professional and asked to come over to see the project in detail. He walked through everything and clearly explained how the work would be done so the unit would function properly(door swing) and look great. Two weeks later Tom showed up with his crew for a complete install. Looks fantastic! Update - excellent customer support ============================== These guys don't mess around with their customer care. It's been over a month now since Tom installed 2 large complicated pocket cabinet doors for us. Recently the hinge on one of the pocket door came loose due to stripped threads on the screw. I texted Tom to see if he can give me the part number of the hinge so I can replace it myself...thinking it was a small enough job that I can do it myself. Within 3 minutes Tom replied and said he will take care of the problem for me the same day. Unfortunately I was not available that day but Tom sent his installer Tom the very next day to fix the problem. Tom, the installer, showed up punctual, polite and courteous as usual. He fixed the issue within an hour. I saw that the fix was more involved than I thought if I were to have done it myself. It's was a small job for them but it goes to show they really value their work and customer satisfaction. They come across genuinely wanting to do the right thing and doing it right! read more

We are absolutely thrilled with our custom desk! Tom was amazing to work with on this project. I reached out to him via Yelp and he got back to me right away. I emailed a rough sketch of what I wanted to do with a photo of the space and he sent over a proper drawing with measurements. We needed to have two work spaces with plenty of drawers and a cabinet in the middle to house our printer/paper. Tom was able to put in all the custom details we wanted. Couldn't be happier with the job Liberty Woodworking did in my kitchen and bathrooms. Rebuilt some cabinets that had water damage and mold and refaced every cabinet in the entire home. It came out beautifully and completely transformed our home. The owner Tom actually did a lot of the work himself and followed through on everything he said he would do. Converted my existing wall over into a pantry with pull-out drawers and turned my cooktop area into separate cabinets to make space for a slide-in range. Tom and his team are wonderful to work with! We had the cabinets completely resurfaced at our Tammie Kyle and Cabrillo Centers, as well as the countertops replaced with marble. They took the 80s-style mauve/lavender cabinets and resurfaced them with white. The cabinets look brand new and give the center a clean and updated look. UPDATE FROM THE OWNER OF THE HOUSE: OUR repeated calls to you during the course of the work were left unanswered to me and my girlfriend, who by the way, lives with me in OUR HOME. WE saw some of the installation of the cabinets and repeatedly asked if the nick's would be fixed, as well as other requests for the cabinets to be finished, and each time you told us it was not your problem. Your attitude, and the way you handled things throughout the course of the work was appalling. Quite frankly, there were many times when you were not even at the house when your guys were installing the cabinets and WE were. The cabinets were NOT in perfect condition after installation, as you say. We tried to speak to you multiple times about the work and each and every time you dismissed US and said to take it up with the contractor. It is OUR house, not the GC . WE make the decisions, not the GC. And placing your name into each and every drawer was unauthorized. Using our pictures on Yelp as a means to promote your work is unauthorized. read more

What drew us to Liberty Woodworking was all the 5 star reviews. We were not disappointed, our expectations were totally exceeded!! We had cabinets resurfaced in our two bathrooms and the kitchen, along with all of the drawers. We were told it would take 5 days to complete - and it took 5 days! Tom is an easygoing guy and comes up with helpful suggestions BUT KNOWS FROM EXPERIENCE NOT TO PICK A STYLE OR COLOR FOR YOU. He may explain some factors that might (OR might not) make your pick the best BUT in the end IT IS YOUR DECISION. We mentioned that we needed a cabinet to hold our DVR, DVD, VCR, Cable Box, Printer, Shredder and Tom came up with a great idea and design, then built it himself. It has a sliding shelf for our printer and shredder, two drawers we had never thought about and another shelf for everything else. It came with a false bottom so we could hide all of the long cables out of sight. When we mentioned that the cabinet would probably need be moved often, Tom decided to make the bottom solid plywood (which easily slides on our carpet) instead of using 4 legs. He installed the bottom moulding high enough that it looks like it is at the bottom of the cabinet, but is isn't. It is raised just enough that after the cabinet sinks info the carpeting it is about 1/16" of an inch above the carpet (which you can't see) this prevents it from being torn off when sliding the cabinet across the carpet. Tom only uses top of the line (BLUM) hardware for his soft close drawers and doors. You are required to furnish your own drawer and cabinet pulls/knobs and handles, again due to personal preferences that he cannot make for you. This is the FIRST TIME EVER that we have felt comfortable enough with a contractor that we left him alone in our house while we went to Home Depot and then went out to lunch. I never thought that would happen in my lifetime!! Peace of mind is something you can't buy. The attention to detail in all three rooms was amazing. In one bathroom, where it was almost impossible to use plastic sheeting to close off the area (to prevent dust from escaping into the rest of the house) THEY HAND SANDED the wood instead of using an orbital sander!! It took more time to do the work, but (I was told) it was the "Right Thing" to do, so that's what they did. There was no dust in the air and the residue was vacuumed up immediately_WOW. As customers often do, we originally had colors in mind but we changed our minds a couple of times. Tom came out a few times to show us our choices and never made us feel uneasy about his return trips to our house. His selection of material and colors is awesome. If you have dealt with contractors in the past you will find Tom and his crew to be the most friendly, courteous, honest, on time, polite people you will ever hire. As it ended up we chose Tom to do our cabinets over some other bids that cost less. The other companies didn't seem to have the same knowledge, expertise, or selection that Tom had. They did not offer the same ideas of how to trim the cabinets, until we suggested what Tom's bid included, THEN they said that they could do that. We ABSOLUTELY made the right decision. He was very patient, gave us samples of doors and stains as we requested, and came-up with some creative ideas. The work started on the day promised and ended as promised. The installer (also Tom...) was very pleasant, professional and cleaned at the end of every day and at the end of the project. Although we were unable to finish a kitchen refacing with Liberty Woodworking due to financial reasons I still feel compelled to write this review. We interviewed and received many quotes from companies for our kitchen refacing. There were none we could compare Liberty Woodworking to as none had the concerns we needed for the kitchen we had pictured in our minds. Very few had the ability to answer all our questions knowledgeably and the desire to design a kitchen that met our needs and not theirs. Tom was wonderful and brought up many ideas we had not thought of that would make our kitchen much more serviceable besides more beautiful. His samples of door styles and colors outnumbered by far what other companies were showing us. We felt many companies were trying to sway us toward cabinet door styles that were more easily installed and stained making their work easier to complete. Hopefully others will read the Liberty Woodworking reviews as these only confirm what our review is trying to accomplish. The quality of work and customer service can be seen with most companies during their first interview with clients. From the first meeting with Tom it was apparent he was concerned with meeting our expectations and adding his professional ideas in order to make our kitchen the center piece of our home. We are hopeful many will read this review and call Tom at Liberty Woodworking before contacting other companies for their project quotes. Using Tom as a comparison with others we feel will help many to make knowledgeable decisions as to the best company able to fulfill their dreams of a beautiful kitchen or other room in their homes. Love this company. Had estimates from 2 bigger companies. They both told me that we needed to new drawer boxes and hinges and hardware.. blah blah blah. When I questioned the other companies they gave me a bunch of malarkey on why we had to get new . So I got Liberty Woodworking off of Home Advisor. Tom said to me " I am a cabinet guy making a living". He got me right there. He showed up on time for the estimate. He listened to me A LOT on everything I needed to say and was very accommodating. He was very patient. He left me samples of what we were looking at. Tom had 2 different type of door samples sent to me so we could see what we truly wanted. That helped so much.
