(Really nervous. Anxiety began weeks before the appointment. Asking the same questions over and over, and to multiple adults.) Once in the chair, they still had a million questions. Dr. Samiei and his staff answered each one patiently.  He allowed my child agency to ease their nerves (counting down to the Novocain shot, deciding on hand signals in case a break was needed, etc.). The appointment took longer than necessary due to all the questions, but never once did they rush. My child left happy and relieved. It's been years of dental work and I feel that I owe this review for others t My first visit was in 2005/2006. I had a traumatic fall which caused my front tooth to fall out (whole root) and I broke my other front tooth and both lateral teeth in half. This was a couple of days after Christmas and no one was open when I was calling from the ER, but Dr. Stanley opened up for me and saw me. Both he and Dr. Randy took care of me. After extensive treatments and recovery, I had veneers, bone graft, gum graft and implant done, I could not be more grateful or happy with the results. It's been years and I've moved to Toronto, Miami, Palm Springs, Newport Beach and LA. I've seen dentists here for cleanings and each time, they have been really impressed with the work saying how natural it looks and really beautiful job. Burba gave me back my smile after a traumatic fall and showed me so much compassion throughout my ordeal. I always come back when I'm home in Boston as no other dental practice has made me feel more valued and cared for.

Hate to do this, however I hope it does at least one person some good…read more I have been going to this dentist for over 10 years. Cleanings have been fine, staff has been fine, Dr. S. always pleasant and friendly. Heck I did a gum graft that I needed and that has been swell (oh and redoing a root canal). I have taken no issue with the quality of the work that has been performed. That said, I do caution (potential) patients of upsell and/or unnecessary procedures. I felt like there was advice to do work that was not yet necessary or more elaborate then a less expensive alternative, especially early-on as a patient. A few weeks ago one of my bridges came out. I called in the evening, the doctor called me back that night which is great, and they fit me in the next day to temporarily cement it back in. The dentist looked at my teeth and said I need an implant a sinus lift and of course crowns for the adjacent teeth. He sent me to the front to get the quote and schedule the appointment. The quote was $26,095.00. Yes, $26,095.00. I asked if this included any insurance and I got a simple "your insurance won't cover this." (And it cost $450 to temporarily recement it.) Did I mention that I have four of these bridges that are all the same age? That's $104,380.00 if I play this scenario out. One hundred thousand dollars...100 large... one year at Harvard (w/o financial aid)... 1.4x average annual US salary... ~3 years of child care...a lifetime supply of Chicken Nuggets (that one's a guess). For a handful of teeth. So I presented the issue to two other dentists - one I had seen previously and one I had not. After looking at x-rays and the bridge, both agreed that simply recementing the existing bridge was plenty reasonable. The bridge is in excellent condition and the teeth underneath were as well. I could redo the bridge for maybe $2-4k to eliminate a little gap between the bridge and the gum - but neither of them thought it was critical. Today I had the new dentist recement it back in. They polished off the old cement and put it back in. $419 if my insurance doesn't cover any of it. The option I was presented with was 62x more expensive then a perfectly reasonable and practical alternative. Again, I have not had an issue with the quality of work provided here. However, if you get an expensive treatment plan from them, then it might simply be the best treatment that is available today. Does that mean it's the only treatment option? No.
