However, this place proved me wrong in the best way possible. This place is a Texas establishment, specifically from Austin, Texas. I'm glad I got to try it while I was in Texas. It's delicious! Their flavors are so creative, the staff was OK (didn't really look like he enjoyed his job that day. What a wonderful location! Placed in a very busy shopping strip/mall area with other great eateries and shops. They have some great specials throughout the year and monthly as well. I have been a fan of Lick ever since I was in college at UT Austin, and everything is still the same! A chill vibe offering some amazing ice cream flavors seasonally and regularly. The staff was patient and friendly whenever I go there, great job! Some flavors that are my go-to flavors are Cilantro Lime, Coffee and Cream, and Goat Cheese Thyme & Honey. Currently (as of January 2026), the seasonal flavors that I've enjoyed are Lemon Lavender, Loopy Fruit and Grapefruit Paloma (V)! Service was very quick with easy access to 15 minute parking in front of the store. The flavors are very different and I wasn't feeling too risky so I played it safe. Great spot for ice cream and they have VEGAN OPTIONS! Located in the Autry Park development, Lick Ice Cream is mostly a walk up spot (seating is a little limited) to grab a sweet treat while you're in the area or visiting the nearby Buffalo Bayou Park. Unfortunately the parking is limited to paid street parking or the nearby garage (I didn't get a chance to ask if they validate) although you could park a couple of blocks away on one of the few free parking streets and walk up. They have a bunch of unique flavors including rotating seasonal flavors and a few dairy-free options. Feel free to sample as many as you would like before committing to a particular flavor. I'm dairy free and tried all of their three options before picking one flavor without any problem. I've been twice now and have tried the vegan chocolate chocolate and the vegan RumChata and both are excellent. Creamy, flavorful and not overly sweet. I've also visited their West U location and I have to say, this location is better. The service has always been more friendly and the portion sizes are more generous. Cute ice cream shop in the Autry Park development. We came here for a post dinner dessert after eating at Doko. They had some bizarre, but in a good way, flavors as well as all of the go to flavors. Ice cream was good and we would come back if we were having dinner in the development already, but we probably wouldn't go out of our way to make a stop here given that the parking isn't super convenient and appears to be mostly valet with limited paid street parking. read more

Located in Autry Park, this Lick Honest Ice Cream location was perfect during this hot, Houston summer. We came here after dinner nearby and enjoyed our ice cream in the beautiful park. I was surprised to read the other reviews about the bad service they received here. We didn't have any problems service wise, maybe the manager fired the previously rude employee that other reviewers mentioned. Don't let those other reviews stop you from coming here, Lick has some honestly good ice cream! Our favorite flavors were the caramel salt lick, dark chocolate olive oil sea salt, and their seasonal blueberry crumble. We were able to sample a couple other flavors too before deciding. I really hate that I have to write this review for this location but today's first and last visit was unacceptable. I've told my sister about lick honest ice cream for the past three years while she was in Japan. I told her how in Austin and San Antonio had locations then most recently the expanded to our home city houston. So when she landed in houston Texas I told her let's got and take my nieces there. We were all excited to go and we met one of the most rude insensitive cashiers ever. We simply asked for a new spoon for my nieces ice cream as she has nut allergy's and this ladies rude was response was appalling. All she had to do was say sure and take care of us. She began to argue with us and be rude and literally not want to do it. We were blown away. She was so unprofessional and rude. Needless to say this will be the last time I visit this location or any other lick location and this is sad because we all really enjoyed and love the ice cream but to be treated this way of my nieces allergy was unacceptable. We will never go back. You all lost a die hard loyal client. I've been to all of their locations and have always experienced top notch customer service so today must have been a rare bad exception. Really unfortunate and unbelievable. It's not that hard to get a clean new serving spoon for clients with nut allergy's. Two stars because the manager really tried to his best but his employee was out of control. Rude. Shaking her head like a salt shaker and had this really mad mean ugly frown on her face. I also went to this location in the up and coming area of Autry Park on the same day, the first reviewer (Rex C.) went on 7/13. This makes me understand and confirm that I was not the only patron that felt the staff's skill set should not be in service. The lady serving us was not warm and welcoming at all towards us. No problem. Maybe she's an introvert and is just there for a paycheck? She barely said anything while we were there and moved at a slow and steady snail pace. It almost seemed that we were bothering her for getting ice cream. My family and I have always gone to Licks every chance we get in a new city. So when we learned that there's a Lick's ice cream in the loop, we had to go. Particularly it was 50% off scoops this time around. No need to share about the flavors of ice cream we got, but cliff notes: they're all delicious, very unique and always a treat. Biggest oops is the staff and service they offer. 3 stars because their ice cream is always top notch. Minus 2 stars because their staff attitude can be a lot better, particularly in the service industry. read more
