There are about 10-12 frozen yogurt flavors along the back wall. You pick up a cup and serve yourself. You can choose from multiple flavors, toppings, and syrups. I chose the Pineapple Whip which was my favorite, followed by Raspberry, Mango & Strawberry. The first 3 were very intense fruit flavors, close to eating the actual fruit. The strawberry was very creamy or milky and did not have a strong strawberry taste. There are fresh strawberries & raspberries for healthy toppings & plenty of nut & candy toppings or chocolate syrup too, but I left mine plain. At the register, they weigh your selection. Mine was $6.99 & the cup was not full. I tipped so the total was over $8. A little expensive, but it still hit the spot on a hot Texas day. The cashier was friendly. There is plenty of indoor seating & a few outdoor seats as well. Parking in this area may be tough, but we found a spot in the neighborhood behind Menchies about 2 blocks away. Easy walk to the antique stores & boutiques down 19th street too. The 1st Saturday Art Market is held in the parking lot next door, another good occasion for frozen yogurt. read more

It was a hot sunday afternoon and I was in the mood for some sorbet. I searched for the nearest Menchie's and headed that way. I ended up with 2 cups, 3 flavors. All three were very good and I am glad I made the choice. The flavors were Hawaiian Pog, and I mixed Mango and Pomegranate Razz on the same cup. I added blueberries and strawberries to the Hawaiian Pog. So good. Parking at this place is by QR code and is free for 2 hours. Nice for a Sunday afternoon outing. read more

I don't really know where to find good frozen yogurt in Houston :( let me know if you know a good place! Menchie's is a mid frozen yogurt chain in general but it's my go to out of very few that I have found in Houston. They always have tart original which is one of my favorite flavors! This location isn't the nicest and is busy and can even been pretty stinky :/. I like the topics they have to offer but they recently took away the mochi which is one of my favorite toppings so I'm pretty disappointed. Hopefully they will bring it back. It may not be the best frozen yogurt but the original tart yogurt is not terrible and they have pretty good selection of toppings. Even when it's laden with kids after school everything is still in good order and don't feel as though sanitation is an issue. Toppings are always well stocked and fresh and after spending $2-$3 for my toddler and me, this is the way to go. read more

When walking in we were overwhelmed with a terrible smell. When my SO went to see if they had her favorite flavor, as soon as she dispensed it, it had the most RANCID vinegar smell to it. Immediately left. No clue what made it smell so awful. We've never had an experience that bad. read more

It's in a strip mall with plenty of parking and a decent amount of seating inside. It's clean and colorful, and was filled with children, the whole place was clearly aimed at kids but I think that's typical of frozen yogurt places, I'm not sure because I never get froyo. They have cups out for customers to try up to two flavors so that's convenient. The frozen yogurt was much more rich, thick and flavorful than most I've had before. I got the s'mores and the flavor was very intense and the froyo itself was a bit thicker than usual. I thought it was very delicious and a little bit went a long way. My sister, who gets froyo all the time said that the price of her bowl was like half of what she usually pays so I guess they have pretty good prices here. She loved it so much she even went back for seconds. A downside however, they only had like 5 flavors, half of the flavors were out of stock. I want to give them four stars but 50% of your flavors being out of stock is a pretty serious offense given that out of the flavors they DID have, only one appealed to me. Especially knowing how picky kids are, I think the lack of options could be an real issue for some customers but hopefully we just caught them on a bad day. Id return if I was in the area and with someone who wanted froyo but it's not a place I would seek out. read more

Wow how have they fallen off! Menchie's used to be top of the line frozen yogurt. My visit was 2/17/24 around 7pm First thing I noticed was there were 4 machines out of order, which meant they were limited on flavors. The flavors the did have available were not good in taste. The only reason I'm writing this review is because, I asked to use to the bathroom and the cashier said it was closed, it was only 9pm you close at 10. I told her I need to use the bathroom again, but a lil more accretive because I had literally seem someone come from the door but I wasn't sure if it was the bathroom. She told me I could. Good luck to anyone wanting to get yogurt. Such a convenient location YET Store was "closed" at 12:35pm on 3/30/23. Arrived to see the "closed sign" but thought it may have been a mistake since I saw 1 staff member in the store cleaning and 2 customers sitting inside having yogurt. Welp, door was locked. Waited a bit to see if they would open up but instead the staff member let the customers out when they were done and immediately locked the door after the left. Newsflash Menchie's. This is not good business. Your hours are posted. You also have another sign that shows "temporary store hours" -- which BOTH signs show that you should be open at 12pm. Staff saw me when I approached the locked door yet chose to ignore. The common courtesy would be to at least open and explain why they're closed. I really hate leaving bad reviews but this is just terrible business. read more

This used to be a go to for us but in last 6 months they never have flavors, not even chocolate. We have walked out twice empty handed. Last Friday we went with friends at 9pm. Two large groups were there and they had closed some of the indoor seating so we went outside. An employee came to tell us outdoor seating was closed, even though they didn't close for an hour. This left no where for children to sit but on the curb of the parking lot. I ask for our money back because we didn't want to sit on the ground. This franchise of my fav dessert (Fro-Yo), always brings it with the fun flavours. I always appreciate them offering several fruity selections. Menchie's is usually reliable for a sweet frozen creamy treat, and I'm delighted to find one in a kool Houston neighborhood. My good friend had never really tried fro-yo, usually opting for ice cream, but I persuaded her to give this place a shot. She's a choco-holic. Menchie's no-sugar added Dark Chocolate was good to tone down the very sweet Cake Batter fro-yo. Dragonfruit looked interesting too, so the plan is to try that one on a future visit, plus more sprinkles. I'm more of a purist; don't care for jimmies or candies, just the fro-yo and maybe fresh fruit and/or mochi, but only if they look good. Pineapple, banana, and pistachio are my go-to fro-yo choices. Considering how dang humid it gets in H-town, the shop is a life-saver. (By the way, I'm willing to bet that Life Saver is among their candy toppings). Ownership is asleep at the wheel in my opinion. My kids and I entered at 8:30 pm on 5/14/24. I watched multiple people walk in and walk right out the door. This location always seems to have at least eight to ten self-serve flavors, like most yogurt shops. This one rotates seasonal flavors, but has their most popular always available...Chocolate, vanilla, and original tart. I recommend signing up on-line for their frequent-user Card, which they call their "My Smileage Club". It is free to join, and you get $5. off after accumulating 50 points.
