They seem to have a predatory marketing strategy and try to take advantage of people. Fortunately we are savvy, knew they were overcharging and walked away. They bid $14,400 on our project and we had a competitor do the same work for $2450. In my opinion, public sentiment over these business practices will crumble their reputation. Also they promise to come out with a fully equipped truck, yet our plumber still had to make a Home Depot run for a basic part. Payment is due up front, we opted to go the diagnostic route first and reevaluate. After getting the next outrageous quote, we decided to take the hit and pay the exorbitant diagnostic fee, cut our losses and find someone else. There's gotta be better out there. Follow up - turns out once hubby saw what the problem was, a quick trip to Ace Hardware and $18 later shower was fixed. A savings of $350 over the Lickety estimate. We called them to replace our shower faucet (we have 2 showers) and were quoted an astronomical price of $1,600 for just one shower. They then tried to sell us a water filtration system and a service plan--no thanks. When I asked why the price was so high, I was told, "It's plumbing." Pass!! I'll shop around! I was quoted $500 by one plumbing company and $450 by another. We finally went with a company that charged $700 for BOTH showers. I felt they preyed on our need to get the job done. Getting similar quotes by 3 other plumbing companies show something is wrong here. They charged a $99 fee just for someone to come out, and the person who came isn't even the one who does the estimate or the work. Total waste of money. I'm not happy--lesson learned. They use the $99 fee to squeeze money out of you by getting payment up front, then give you ridiculous pricing knowing they'll at least make $99. Had great luck on the HVAC side of the business but not so much with plumbing. Spent $99 for someone to come out. They snaked the drain for an additional $250 which didn't fix the clog. They recommended a special treatment for $1,200 because it was a deep clog. I said no thanks. Had to hire another company which came out and fixed the problem using a snake. This cost another $440. Update : 6/12/2025 It's been two weeks, and I still haven't received a follow-up call from a manager regarding the pricing issue on the drain valve. I've received a few sales calls from Lickety Split offering other services, and each time, I've asked them to pass along my concerns about the previous job. Despite that, I've yet to hear back about any resolution or explanation for being charged $337 for a part that typically costs around $35. Appointment: 5/28/2025 I recently scheduled an appointment with Lickety Split using a $69 coupon I received in the mail for a water heater draining. Scheduling was super easy, and I was impressed by how prompt they were in returning any missed calls -- excellent customer service on that front. The sweet part of this experience was definitely the technicians, Max and Jordan. They were incredibly friendly, professional, and detailed in their work. They explained everything clearly and made the process smooth. They absolutely deserve 5 stars for their service -- it's rare to find technicians who are that personable and thorough. Now for the bitter part -- the pricing. My water heater is old and hadn't been flushed in a long time, so due to sediment buildup, they recommended replacing the drain valve. I was quoted $337 for the replacement. Not knowing the actual price of the part at the time, I agreed. The job itself took about 5 minutes. Afterward, I looked up the cost of the valve and found it retails for around $34.69 -- meaning the markup on the part alone was nearly 10x. I ended up paying a total of $406 for the water heater draining, which came as a surprise considering the $69 starting point. When I called to understand the pricing, I was told it was an "all-inclusive" rate covering same-day service and part sourcing. However, since the technicians were already on-site and mid-job, that explanation felt a bit stretched. To be clear, this isn't a retaliatory review -- I believe in paying fairly for quality service -- but this kind of pricing structure doesn't feel fair. Lickety Split positions itself as a one-stop shop for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. We called Lickety Split to come look at our water heater that was not working properly. We paid $99 over the phone to cover the diagnostic cost, which is pretty standard. The technician came out quickly and got to work, first flushing the water heater, which we had already done ourselves. He showed me the water that came out, saying "look at all that sediment" - there was hardly anything there. Then he showed me the anode tube, which did have some calcification, as well as the thermal expansion tank, which had some buildup. He said he'd call his manager and get quotes for a few different options. Fine so far. When he came back, he told us that our big problem is "bad water" and that our problems won't be completely fixed until we get a whole-house filtration system for $13,000. No thanks, we said. Somehow this home has run just fine on well water without filtration for over 40 years. Our water has never caused a problem with any of our other appliances. When we moved in, the old water heater was still technically working after 19 years. Our next option? Replacing the anode tube and thermal expansion tank. Over $3,000. That's more than double what we paid for the water heater AND tank four years ago, including installation. Again, no thanks. Our last option? A "tune-up" that would cost us $1,100. Again, the water heater, expansion tank, and installation cost us $1,200 just a few years ago. We politely told the young man to just reassemble our water heater and leave. This company straight-up tried to scam us. There is no other word for it. Thankfully, they only got $99 out of us, but that's still $99 that we wasted, and we still have to call another company to help us. My blower fan stopped working but the system was still cooling, its only 6 years old. I went over what was going but he needed to do his full inspection. No problem i respect that. He went over with me the compressor was bad and called his supervisor. They said they could in a new system for 14,000 so I asked why is the system still cooling if the compressor was not working. The mega ohms were bad and it needed to be replaced. Mega ohms? They said they document everything with photos, i asked for their report but nothing has been sent. I asked to think about it and call a different service. The new company came out and changed the blower and resistor for $650. Buyer beware. read more

My husband hired them to come out and do an annual cleaning/inspection and they came out only to charge us and tell us they can't diagnose anything and they a whole spiel about how they need the "A/C cardiologist" to come out and look. He also walked into my bedroom immediately after knocking on it when I was home alone They also left wires disconnected so the A/C stopped working and we ran into issues we had to remove the panel and fix days after. All that to say, everything they said we needed done was BS after we got a second opinion. Beware of Upfront Charges - No Show, No Service! This company charged $795 to my credit card over the phone for air duct cleaning and scheduled an appointment for April 10 between 8 AM and 1 PM. I cleared my schedule and called before 8 AM to confirm--was told the window was 8-10 AM. Two hours later, I received a voicemail asking me to call back. When I did, I was told the technician was "one stop away." Shortly after, I received another voicemail saying the appointment was incorrectly booked and rescheduled for Saturday instead. After wasting hours waiting, I requested a refund due to the confusion and poor communication. An hour later, someone named Shelby called, apologized, and offered to send a technician between 1 and 6 PM that same day. I agreed, giving them a second chance. Again, I waited the entire afternoon. By 6 PM, no one had arrived. I called and was told--again--the technician was "one stop away." Then I was put on hold for 15 minutes with no clear answer. This company completely wasted my day. I asked for a refund and was told a manager would call me on April 11. I never received that call, and no refund has been issued. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company for a service that was never provided. STAY AWAY!!! Contacted Lickety Split because of an issue with one of my showers required me shut off water to my entire house for an extended period of time. I had changed the shower cartridge earlier in the day but couldn't get it to stop leaking afterwards so I called them for an emergency visit, not knowing their reputation. I paid $99 for the emergency visit fee. They showed up a couple hours later and told me the problem was actually the entire shower valve and quoted me over $2k to replace, telling me it's a very difficult job, and insisted I pay at least half up front before the fix. The tech went out to his truck and came back saying he doesn't have the correct type of valve in the truck (it's insanely common and I was told the truck would be fully stocked for the tech) and that they'd have to come back in the morning. Before the tech left he also asked to see my water filtration system and proceeded to run a test on my water and trying to convince me my 4 year old filtration systems wasn't doing anything and that my water was full of lead, arsenic etc etc etc, and then tried to sell me a "fix" for nearly $4k, which I said no to. This was past 10pm on a Sunday night. A different tech showed up Monday morning and said the shower valve is not the problem and that it can't be the problem, and that that the problem was just that the shower cartridge I'd installed was faulty....he went and bought a new one, put it in - good to go. He didn't charge me anything and gave me no invoice and had no billing info. He said he saw no record of the $1,000 plus I'd paid the night before for half of the new valve then left. I received a customer service call yesterday morning to check on my satisfaction, so I asked about the billing because I'd paid for something I didn't receive and it needed to be rectified. At the end of the day, I received a call stating they'd be refunding part of the charge and offered a free HVAC system tune up for my inconvenience. I told them I have two systems and was told that was ok. The tech showed up today and I immediately knew something was off because there was a sales rep with him.....a sales rep for an HVAC tune up? I immediately made it clear I had no intention of spending a single cent since I'm out of work and only wanted the free tune up to both systems and to be told if they found anything I needed to keep an eye on. I was told it isn't a tune up, just a multipoint inspection. Red flags for sure, but I let them get to it. They started with the upstairs unit and after a while, the salesman came in and asked whether we'd had any recent services done to the unit because it was massively "overcharged" with refrigerant, which I already know can wreck the compressor. The unit is only 3.5 years old and hasn't been serviced in over a year but we've had zero issues with it - if it was overcharged that whole time, the unit would have failed many times over. He showed me the readings their equipment gave, which I know can be manipulated, and told me how bad it is for the system and that something must really be wrong, but I told him I'm not spending a single dime. A few minutes after that I was told they are just about done with the upstairs unit and would be coming to do the downstairs one next. Well that never happened. The tech came downstairs and said he was just cleaning up and they'd be out of my hair in a few minutes. That's exactly what happened. They never even looked at the second unit, presumably because I made it abundantly clear that I'm not spending any money. More red flags of course. I went outside to check the two units after they left and found the brass Schrader valve cap that prevents refrigerant from leaking out, VERY loose on both systems (including the one they supposedly didn't do anything to) and one of the NOVENT caps had been unscrewed and was just sitting on top of the valve stem. Had I not checked it, I wouldn't have known because it looked like it was fine but it wasn't tightened at all. This is sabotage. This is criminal behavior. Turns out they are currently facing a class action lawsuit for these tactics. STAY FAR, FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We had one of the worst experiences with this HVAC company. On Saturday morning, we scheduled an emergency repair for a water leak in our outside closet. During that call, they told us we'd also receive a free AC maintenance, which was supposed to be completed on Tuesday evening. Two techs came out and determined it was the AC condensate line leaking behind the wall. The technician then called his supervisor, Kevin, who initially quoted $2,500 to pull permits and fix drywall. When I questioned how low that seemed given the amount of drywall that would need to be opened, the price suddenly jumped to $3,000. Despite that, no permits were ever pulled and no drywall was cut or repaired. That same night, the tech performed the "AC maintenance" but skipped a key part listed on their own website -- cleaning the coils. Sunday morning, the techs showed up at 8:45 am (despite saying they would call 30 minutes before and arrive between 9-11). Not a huge deal, but after the repair was done, we discovered they had run PVC piping from the attic down the side of our house using multiple hard 90s with extremely poor craftsmanship. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, a woman on the phone told us she couldn't reach Kevin and that we'd get a call Monday. That call never came. Instead, at 4:53 pm, we received a call trying to confirm the AC maintenance that had supposedly already been completed. I told them again I was waiting for a supervisor to call us, but no one ever followed up. At the end, we refused to sign the completion order because of how poorly this job was handled. This company's practices are dishonest and overpriced. They included a $1,400 pump in the quote that actually costs under $200, and they replaced a capacitor (that wasn't even failing) for $400 when it's really a $30 part. We expect a supervisor to come to our home immediately, review the unprofessional work that was done, and issue a full refund. I recently took advantage of Lickety Split's tune-up special and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. In the 7 years I've lived in my home, I have never had any issues with my A/C. My unit is 10 years old, but it worked perfectly all summer--up until Lickety Split serviced it. They first sent a young technician who seemed timid but polite and thorough. He even drew a sketch of my ductwork, and I appreciated the effort. About 25-30 minutes into the visit, his supervisor showed up, asking questions and trying to push the sale of a new A/C unit. Everything seemed fine until the technician decided to switch wiring around on the outside unit, saying the wires were mismatched. Within minutes, he came back inside saying my outside fan had "gone out" and was overheating. He did a reset, and after about 10 minutes it kicked back on. They both seemed satisfied, asked me to take a picture, and even encouraged me to write a review before leaving. That night, the outside fan overheated again and my A/C stopped working completely. I immediately called Lickety Split, and they sent the same technicians back out--only to tell me, "There's nothing we can do, your fan went out, you need a new unit." I asked to escalate the issue, and the supervisor Wayne called their VP, Kevin. Instead of listening, Kevin argued with me, insisting there was "no way" the wiring change caused the fan to fail, and refused to take accountability for what happened during their service. I understand that employees may be in training and mistakes happen--but the customer should not have to pay the price for those mistakes. My A/C was working fine before Lickety Split touched it, and now I'm left with a non-functioning system and being told my only option is to replace the entire unit. This experience left me extremely disappointed, and I cannot recommend Lickety Split based on how my situation was handled. read more

Please do not hire Lickety Split A/C, Plumbing, Electric. They are taking advantage of people and no one is investigating them or stopping them. On the 22nd of this month, they sent one of their staff Richard to my property for drain clean out. Before they sent him, I had already paid $79 promo cost based on the advertisement that they left in my mailbox saying"We found bad sewer pipes in your neighborhood. Your sewer line may have problems too. Don't take the risk of major repairs.". Instead of the clean out he did a camera inspection then he called his supervisor, Jonathan on the phone. Then he gave his phone to me to speak with Jonathan. Jonathan told me that it is an emergency that there is a pipe burst under the house and that there is a cast iron that must be removed. He said that the entire plumbing system needs to be replaced immediately. I told him I don't have money for that project right now. He said "oh don't worry we can finance it, you don't have to pay anything, if your credit score is good, we will only give a soft pull, it won't affect your scores you can then just sign the contract and we begin working immediately". I told him email the contract and all the loan options to me so I can settle down and make the right decision. He said "No we don't email documents, we have everything done at the site because this an emergency case, if we don't get done now it's going to cost you more" So Richard brought his tablet pulled up a contract on it and said " sign so we can start" So I signed for $12000 at the end of the project I discovered that there was no pipe burst, they only replaced few pipes, they could not show me what they bought or replaced step by step, they provided fake inspection report from a private provider that they hired and who did not physically visit the site to inspect the work, they cannot provide the certificate of completion and the permit is still currently showing active and not finalized at the City Building Inspection Department. I reached out to them to refund my money but they refused. And they cannot provide documentation with pictures of the work done that is worth the $12000. They have taken advantage of many people and I might not be the last. Someone must stop them. read more
