We called Lickety Split a couple weeks ago upon realizing we had leak going on in our home. Let me start also by saying I was managing the crisis alone, as my other half was out of town. It was Sunday and the service member came out a couple hours after our call. Prior to them arriving, JEA had shown up and been extremely helpful to me, showing me where the main line was, turning it off and ensuring it wasn't our irrigation that was leaking. When the Lickety Split man arrived, he performed no inspection, did not test anything, and simply told me we would need to take out a major loan because a full re-pipe was needed. Mind you this is an outdoor leak and he did not even turn on the main line to try to see if there was any feasibility of fixing it. Generic sales scare tactic taking advantage of someone in crisis. And let me tell you as someone who knows nothing about plumbing i did not appreciate his immediate push to get a loan, when he did not offer to do any investigative work. He proceeded to spend 3 hours at our home, we asked him to perform an inspection as that is what we were being charged for but he said he did not have tools and complained he would have to drive to the other side of town to get them. The audacity that they had someone even come out without any tools. In the end, i realized they were absolutely wasting time and not helping to resolve anything. It was incredible stressful so we asked them to leave and called another plumbing company that came by and helped resolve our issue. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The only reason for two stars is because at least they had the dignity to refund us for the "leak detection" they didn't have equipment to perform. read more

I didn't have a great experience to put it mildly. Long story short, I paid $350 to have a laundry room drain unclogged only to be told that I need to repipe my entire house and that would cost $16,000 to fix. To break it down I paid a $99 service fee upfront, and then $249 after the technician's assessment/inspection to fix the issue. He told me that his "hydrojet" solution was sure to work. After I paid to fix my problem the technician"realized" that his expert opinion on how to repair the issue was not correct and now they need to replace every waste pipe under my house for $16,000. He kept trying to upsell me on their financing option. I declined. I'm $350 poorer and my original issue still wasn't fixed. In my opinion, this was a tactic to upsell me into paying for an unnecessarily expensive job instead of fixing the small job that I paid them for. If I wanted to throw away $350, I would have stuffed it down my clogged drain. Hindsight is 20/20. I saw red flags from the beginning that I brushed off as me being overly critical. Trust your gut! It's my opinion that if you are in need of plumbing work, get quotes from multiple companies, companies other than this one (and check Yelp reviews first). read more

Technical Incompetence, Predatory Upselling, and Appalling Customer Service I used Lickety Split repeatedly over several months for a condensate drain that kept clogging and tripping my safety float switch. Instead of a proper repair, I received contradictory misdiagnoses, improper plumbing modifications that worsened the problem, and a relentless barrage of predatory upselling. The first tech blew the line, then told me I couldn't do that often because the piping inside my walls was a flimsier plastic that could burst. He said I needed a full re-pipe. The next tech told me he could see PVC at the bottom of the outside drain and that only the end piece was the cheaper material. I asked them to replace the broken exterior end piece. Instead of a fix, they fitted a piece that doesn't seat, rides too high, and falls off repeatedly on top of the broken end. I was told my piping was the primary issue so I paid them to fix it. Their "solution" was to completely remove the essential P-trap at the air handler, add unnecessary 90-degree elbows, and run the line with no usable downward fall. Their explanation for deleting the trap was that the line dips under the house and comes back up, so that dip would serve as my trap. I later had a licensed independent HVAC company and an instructor from a local HVAC program inspect it separately. Both told me the trap at the handler is necessary, its removal made the clogging worse, and the buried section of the run needed a vent that was never installed. Florida Building Code - Mechanical §307.2.1 requires condensate piping to slope at least 1/8 inch per foot in the direction of discharge. Mine does not. Instead of fixing the plumbing, almost every technician tried to pressure me into expensive upgrades. One tech tried to sell me an extra filtration unit by claiming the layout of my room's door and intake vent was creating a "static pressure imbalance" that would destroy my AC. Another said I needed a device that automatically blew out the line instead of fixing the piping. Techs openly contradicted each other about all of it -- more than once I was told the previous guy didn't know what he was talking about. After realizing their piping modification made the drainage worse, I called to demand a fix. I was scheduled for an 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM window. I called at 11:11 AM for an update. They'd have the tech reach out. I called at 12:52 PM - They'd have the tech reach out. I called at 1:30 PM and explained I had a 3:00 PM doctor's appointment. I was told the tech immediately will call. Then told if it passed 2:00, someone would come at 4:45 so I'd be home. I called four more times at 4:55. No Answer. An automated text apologizing for missing me and said it would connect me with someone. It never did. I finally reached an operator who promised management would escalate it. I heard nothing for the rest of the night. With no AC, I was forced to book a hotel. Incredibly, at midnight, a technician called me three times, waking me up. He asked if I still needed the work done right then. I live in a townhome. The repair required power tools and an air compressor. The complete lack of common sense and professionalism to try and initiate noisy construction work in a multi-family building at midnight is staggering. I told them I needed someone to come first thing. Called again at 8:30 and was promised a 8-1 window and an update in 20 minutes. It's now 12:51. The operator tried to normalize the lack of communication, but nothing excuses doing the job wrong, giving a customer a window, going silent for an entire day, and then ringing their phone three times at midnight to start a project. To make it all worse Lickety Split responded to a workmanship complaint about condensate piping: at 11:45 PM they sent me a "Failed Static Acknowledgment and Waiver" -- a form releasing them from liability for my system. Static pressure is an airflow measurement. My complaint is about drain piping they were paid to modify. The two have nothing to do with each other. What kind of company operates like this? We had another electric Company company coming for a estimate. After they left I kept getting phone calls from them No messages. We never got a receipt for the work That they did. Leaky basket drains and needed more slope for my exit drain. Called them, paid 99$ for them to say it'd cost 1500$ to redo plumbing under sink, NOT THE EXIT VALVE, the fix for that was strapping it up. Then they tried to sell me a water filtration system because that's the actual cause of my slow draining. I paid 99$ and told them to leave, went to Lowe's and spent 40$ and did it myself in a few hours ( absolutely zero plumbing experience). I needed emergent response for AC repair. I called to schedule an appointment, and was referred to their website. I set an appointment for 10-12 AM. I received a call from the service tech at 11:55 AM stating that he would be at my residence in 1 hour and 10 mins. After 2 hours I called the office to get further status. They indicated that service was actually a 5 hour window (that was never communicated before). They also indicated that the technician was delayed on another service call. At 2:15 the tech called to say he was on his way. He also indicated that he had arrived at my house earlier, but the office had called him to inform him that I had cancelled the service call. This was not the case. Nate was efficent in identifying the problem and informative in his explanation. When i asked him to ask the office for some financial consideration for the office error, his office refused the consideration. I had previous issues with this company, and had I not already established a maintenance contract with them, I would have called somebody else. read more

I am giving an honest no BS review of Lickety Split located on Beach. Positives: The tech that came out a week ago was outstanding and did his job to perfection. I have had them to my home a total of 4 times meaning customer service was good and the crew was courteous and respectful. Negatives: Like I said they have been to my home a total of 4 times. The first one was an emergency when my system froze due to the weather. The original installation of my old system to a new system. They came to my house and out of the 3 times that they were at my house. they failed to look at my air condition docks in my attic. Prior to installation. When they were completed with their job, which was good months later, my thermostat was automatically cutting off. So the fourth time they came to my house. There was one technician who went into the attic, and noticed that my air ducts in the attic were torn because the air condition for my house was too big for the air duct system. They wanted to charge me thirteen grand and then they lowered it 9 grand. This price is already added to the finance price. That I have been paying 9 grand on the new system that they installed. When I had them out the third time they told me that my vents needed cleaning. So I paid the fee and had my vents cleaned. This company overcharges and does not do quality work. The first time they come out, although they are extremely professional. Some of their crew is negligent, incompetent and flat out untrained. I gave them a week to fix this issue as I did notify the tech that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau. And JAX news investigative reporting. BLUF I will make sure this company doesn't affect consumers in the Jacksonville area. If you come to someone's home conduct a thorough inspection the first time instead of tacking on service upon service taking money from hard working Americans and Veterans. Unprofessional service, operators too often have an issue with putting your appointment in the schedule, but some how still send you a confirmation of said appointment. Technicians on multiple occasions do not call or show up to do the job. Horrible work etiquette, and they do not clean up after themselves. Staff is disrespectful and love to fill you with empty promises of fixing the issues they created. My personal favorite is when a supervisor says they are gonna come out to handle the issue and they too no call no show. read more

They were hired to fix a cut electrical line running through my yard to a dock. After reconnecting the line that was broken, I asked them to test the dock power. They did and the power did not work. They demanded payment anyway. They stated that they would need to charge me for additional diagnostic work. I recognized that the scope of the job changed and respect and agreed that I would incur additional charges. That was fine because my ultimate goal was to get power working on the dock again. However, they would not even guarantee me that after their diagnostic work was completed that if I hired them for a third time that they would ensure power was working at the dock. So, they just wanted to keep charging me without ever guaranteeing that my end goal would ever be achieved. This is complete insanity. The electricians on-site were professional and nice. They seemed to be very capable of doing good work but Lickety Split management is basically running a scam to extract as much money out of their customers as they can without any concern for actually fixing your electrical problems. March 2026 - When I looked up Main drain line clearing on google, it listed licketysplitfl.com and highlighted Same Day Hydro-Jetting - $79 main sewer line cleaning. When I called the person I spoke with said it does not include hydro jetting, I even told her it said that and she said google says different things about there company, I am a computer technician and know that google only puts on there what the company puts on there, they have now changed the wording. I did take a pic of the google listing, but I don't see anyway to upload it here. I went ahead and scheduled the cleaning without hydro jetting for $79. When the plumber got here he said he could run the video camera through the main drain drain but the hydro jetting would be $500, I had him just do the video, I guess putting the small video line through it might clean it a little bit, but he spoke with me about replacing the main 4 inch cast iron drain under my 1962 house, so he called his manager and got a quote for me of $11,000 for the laundry and kitchen sink and then if we wanted the 2 bathrooms at the other end of the house done also, that was another $6,500 and they had to break up the floors in the bathroom and we were responsible for putting the tile back down. When I originally spoke to the person on the phone that morning she told me I was up for a free A/C inspection and they were able to come out that day also, the 2 HVAC guys came out and did an inspection of the inside unit and outside unit and even climbed in the attic and said there was mildew from condensation starting in the attic because of a 14inch duct going from our 3 1/2 Ton 2 year old A/C unit to a 12inch original duct work in the attic, so they called their manager and asked for a quote on that, would you believe that estimate came out to $11,000 also and told me it was a special deal in the next 48 hours. So they do try to pressure the client into expensive repairs. read more

I have personally done business with Lickety Split, and I am sharing my honest experience based on both the service I received and what happened after I spoke up. I had serious concerns about the service I received from this company. After I shared those concerns, I was contacted by Todd Lewis from Reputation MD, who appears to be involved with handling their online reputation. At first, I thought the goal was to resolve the issue, but after I chose not to move forward with any resolution that would require me to stay silent, the situation escalated. Since then, I have received multiple voicemails, a cease and desist letter, and my separate business received what I believe is a fake Google review from someone who has never done business with me. My business has nothing to do with Lickety Split. Lickety Split, Todd Lewis, and Reputation MD have never done business with my company. I also help run a Facebook group called Victims of Lickety Split Revived, where customers share their experiences. Based on what I have seen, many people have serious concerns about their experiences with this company and how negative feedback appears to be handled afterward. In my opinion, customers should be able to share truthful experiences without feeling pressured, intimidated, or retaliated against. I was seriously scammed by this company! I had just moved into my "new to me" home and was solicited by this company offering a free AC system check. Nothing was broken. Within minutes of checking my system (only 3 years old) they began the "routine". Said I was getting a bad reading. He could feel cool air leaking in my attic. I had just been up there...never felt cool air. I had old hard pipes which he stated were "out of compliance" and changing them out would make the system run better. Otherwise my fairly new system would begin to degrade faster. He said he needed to shut the system down right away. I said that seemed a bit extreme, but he said they couldn't have it breaking down while they were there. Called in his supervisor to imply it was serious. Long story short (EVEN after I looked up hard vs soft duct work and called them out on the fallacy that they had told me, they continued on with how old the duct work was etc. I fell for it and was talked into $15,000 for duct work. I have since gone online and researched that such duct work in an under 1500 sq ft, one story home, should cost between 3,000 - 7,500 dollars. They charged me double that!! Even offered to put me up in a hotel while work was being done at the hotel of my choice free of charge. This sounds nice until you realize they are scamming you for a fortune...a few hundred makes no difference. Never took them up on it. I was so naive and in hindsight I should have known better, but I wanted my new house to be right. The kicker is, after it all was done I had to request a recheck to be sure the "faulty reading" was now right. Different tech (not knowing what had gone on) said the reading was still faulty....checked the filter and said "oh, this is why...your filter is commercial grade...too thick. I've emailed them for my line item invoice no response. Text and call them no response. I have a dispute with my credit card company. This is not ethical. They're pricing is extremely high. This is the first review of any service I have ever done.. I feel I need to do this one. My HVAC stopped putting out hot air. Decided to try Lickety Split. Were on time and dressed professional. Told the tech the problem.The air handling unit fan was running normally and outside unit was running but no heat. Instead of addressing why I called, he drilled hole in top of air handler and said I had to much back pressure. Took my fan of air handling unit. Next he checked the unit outside and said i had a Freon leak and a weak compressor which I do not know how he would know this if I ad no Freon. Also said I needed an new line filter. I had him replace the air handling fan which should not have been touched. His supervisor was present and told me what they had done so far was company Protocol. He also told me that the Freon I use was not made anymore but he had some but since it was not made anymore it was super expensive. I asked for a quote to fix the machine and he said it would be $ 3300.00 . I told him I would not put that amount of money in a 3.5 ton unit and to give me a price on replacing unit. Later texted me that he could not send me quote because the e mail would not go through. This was after sending me two prior e mails. Said to call and he would go over quote with me. I had no further communication with him. Called another company today. Techs came out found a bad wire replaced it and my unit is working like new. Total cost $ 179.00. I called Lickety Split and requested a HVAC service and specifically requested to have my freon replaced on my Goodman AC unit that is 20 years old. They sent out a technician who said his name was Deshawn. I asked Deshawn to please complete service inspection that I had already paid for and then replace the Freon in my AC unit. Deshawn insisted that I needed a deep cleaning and he stomped his feet kind a cry baby telling me that freon was the last thing I needed. Until I asked to speak to his supervisor. Finally his supervisor showed up and forced Deshawn to do his job and replace the freon and now my AC unit works great. Oh I forgot to mention that Deshawn told me that he doesn't get paid one dime unless he can up sell his customers. It's do the bait and switch or don't get paid a dime from Lickety Split. I have it all on my security cam. Deshawn should have won the golden globe for his performance, a true grifter with no shame. What a tool this guy was. read more
