They have a themed week every week...Asian food, Italian, Greek, etc. The produce is fresh and the middle aisle has some good items every week. Lost one star because the cooler that holds the chicken has given off a strong smell for a few weeks some time ago so now I usually avoid the chicken there. read more

Multiple times came to the store just to buy bread and they always don't make enough who in the world manages this store when it's Friday or Saturday to have bread out of stock and when I ask him, do you have any bread sure just wait three hours and we'll make it are you kidding me? Who in the world's gonna wait three hours for the bread that is insanity and then I got a full card of the meats and everything else, when I came to the register, this is Friday 6 PM one register open and 25 people in line. I just left the car there and walked away. Who's gonna wait another hour at the register it's a joke. This store is mismanaged managers are not doing their job. This place is huge and clean. It's more like a supermarket compared to Aldi. Upon entering you will find delicious cheap pastries. Croissants are moist and light. They even cary egg tarts which isn't overly sweet. Definitely get the Bavarian pretzels. It's not overly salted and not hard. My downfall is in the cookie aisle with strop waffles, wafer rolls, and Cafe Noir. A dozen of eggs are $1.15. So cheap. The reason I take a star down is because they don't cart shredded coconut. Lidl is one of the best things to happen to Philadelphia in recent years. Why? QUALITY FOOD FOR LOW PRICES In particular, fresh bakes breads and high quality meats are available for cheap. There is a good selection in the store. Lidl is best compared to Trader Joe's. The difference is Lidl has a much higher selection of meats and household supplies and the prices of these areas is lower than TJs. This location is convenient to park at and is located nearby a super Walmart so getting other tasks done is easy. The location is very customer friendly as there are bathrooms available and a station outside for sanitizing your hands with gel or wipes for the cart. read more

This place is awesome! Finally made it here to restock on quarantine snacks and groceries after hearing about an Aldi-esque market with decent prices. Upon entry, complimentary plastic gloves are stationed by the door for the taking. While I have no children, I did notice the cutest little shopping carts for kids and they are absolutely adorable! Love the selection of quality produce, meat, seafood and even houseware items. I appreciate the mix of name brand stuff and brands I've never heard of. What I appreciate the most are the prices. Can't beat most of the deals they offer. This is definitely my new favorite store. read more

So I'm on a quest for whole buttermilk for a recipe. My nearby Shoprite didn't have it, only lowfat. I'd been wanting to check out this Lidl in my neighborhood for awhile as it's closer to my house than Shoprite and this seemed like a good excuse. First time in the store; it's bright, new, great, the bakery looks cute and had lots of fresh cookies which I'm thinking my kid will love, so I'm already thinking 30 seconds into the store that yeah I gotta come back here. But do they have everything I normally buy at Shoprite, i.e., could I start making this my main grocery store? So I take my time while strolling back to the dairy aisle taking stock of what I see in the fish aisle, the meats, and so on. I never touched a thing, just looking. I get to the dairy aisle and all I see in terms of buttermilk is the lowfat kind. Dang. So I take out my phone to double-check the recipe to see whether lowfat can work. It can't. But that's when I notice I'm being SURVEILLED by an employee, earpiece, the whole 9 yards, just leaning against a case pretending to play with his phone. I move a little bit, he moves a little bit. Jeez, this guy really is watching me and FOLLOWING ME AROUND THE STORE. Why did he single out me over all the other customers? Who knows. I guess I should have dressed more like a yuppie just to go grocery shopping. I still hadn't touched a thing in the store. Anyhoo, they don't have what I want so I turn to leave. As soon as I'm past him he darts up the aisle next to mine. When I get to the front of the store, yep he pops out of his aisle at the same moment, darts past me and turns again to stand and watch me, got the whole Secret Service vibe going on w/ his earpiece and phone at the ready to call in the SWAT team I guess. I walked past him and let him watch me walk out of the store. I wonder if he watched me get in my Jeep and drive away...to Acme. Won't be going back to Lidl and definitely won't be taking my son there. I guess this is how they do things in Germany but I ain't shopping in a store that's run like a police state and wants to run around flexing that muscle in front of the customers. So if you're only out for one or two things, DO NOT GO HERE. Or if you do, PRETEND to be shopping for lots of things. Grab a cart and throw a few things in it and keep your head low so no one suspects you, even though you're doing nothing wrong. And for god's sake don't stop to appreciate their selection. read more

Its very beautiful and clean inside! I never been here until I entered one day. it reminds me of Walmart vs target or shoprite vs aldis. it's a small store so everything is easy to find and there is a section for flowers that are always fresh. some I saw for 3.99. there is also a clearance section for yard thing, clothes and school supplies in the back. and most importantly all the produce is delivered daily and the prices are much better than ShopRite and Walmart read more

I really love that they put a location so close to my house. I've run in here so often lately. It's always clean and neat. I am always there after work, so it's already seems. Days worth of people shopping and the store still looks good. I think they're prices are great and my friend likes that they sell other brands, not just the store brand, which is great as well!! I can tell that I'm going to love this store! Came on a weekend and from the meat to veggies prices, the frozen section, to seafood, there is something for everyone. They have many cashiers and plenty of baggers ready to go for quick service. When this store first opened it was great, no long lines , security at exit and swipe your receipt and the gate opens to get out. They had someone getting the carts from the parking lot. Loved it. Still love and food that hasn't changed but the lines are crazy long now, the carts are never in the cart holder they're all over and parking lot. There's now a security guard who sits in a chair at the entrance texting on his phone the last like 5 times I've been. Why is there a security guard at the entrance ? Why is no one getting the carts from the lot? I always bring my cart back but most don't. So when I got there a only like 8 carts in the holder. Sweet job to sit on your phone all day and so nothing and get paid . I think one of the last security guards got the carts but I'm not 100% certain if it was a security guard but he was great and super friendly. If it stays like this in the next few weeks ill leave Philly to shop because this is only place I was able to like and tolerate . read more

What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! Last weekend I was throwing a little wine and cheese party and on a recommendation decided to check out the cheese selection at Lidl. I'm so glad I did because their selection is fabulous. I paid a fraction of what I would have paid at any other supermarket. And they had so much to choose from! I scored manchego, brie, gouda, one of those little cheese ball jawns with the almonds, and so much more I can't remember. And then the real fun-fInding all the little accoutrements! Lidl has a great selection of unique groceries you certainly won't find at Shoprite. The cream cheese stuffed red peppers were to die for. While here I checked out the much touted frozen food section and it was definitely on point. I loved the frozen Indian food as well as the vegetable egg rolls. Oh! And lest I forget, the bakery here is fabulous! Pretzel buns! And those chocolate croissant things I previously thought I could only get in Europe.
