One of my favorite lunch locales. And you should experience the upgraded ambience and most excellent (as always) service. The egg rolls are some of the best in the city. I actually crave these things, sometimes. Lunch specials come with one, along with your choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup. My favorite is the delicious hot and sour soup. It's also premium quality and, in my opinion, just delectable with the crunchy wonton chips. I don't think you could go wrong with any entree you select. I've tried so many. The pork fried rice is the best in the city, I think. And the menu gives you so many delightful options to choose from. And their veggies are SO fresh and perfectly cooked. They even put the classic onions, carrots, and bell pepper in their sweet and sour (if your waistline can handle a splurge, it's also one of my favorites). We have been dining at Lido Restaurant for about 30 years, even before it moved to the Asian district from Britton Road and May Ave. I would take my daughter to the orthodontist once a month, and this would be our special place to go afterwards. The restaurant sold several years ago, and the food has declined dramatically. Our last visit on 03/12/2026 was indeed our last visit, ever. The Hot Sour soup used to be so great there, but no longer. A big slimy, disgusting, gelatinous blob floated around in the cup. Lido's has been around forever in the old Asian District, and I used to really like it. Came back recently and kept it simple with the orange chicken dinner (around $15). The egg drop soup was still great, but the fried rice was dry and flavorless, and the fried items tasted like old oil. The orange chicken wasn't even as good as Panda Express, which was disappointing. Service was friendly and the place was clean but dated. Location it's in an old unassuming building off of classen. When you walk in .. it's what you'd expect from an older building but it appears clean. I ordered my food to go and it didn't take long. Honestly you have to have an acquired taste for this food.... I do not. I'm upset I didn't just go to Chick fil a! I wanted something hot and flavorful and it was pretty bland. My wife and I have eaten here since the early 90s and even though it's changed ownership a few turns it remains a great choice for higher quality Vietnamese and Chinese food. The current owners have done a nice remodel and made the atmosphere as good as the great food. Lido is a staple of the Asian district and never dissapoints as well as their wait staff knows all the regulars and knows everyone's orders by memory. The weather changed and went from sunny to rainy. What better than some hot & sour soup... Well - turns out anything would have been better than the soup we received from Lido. Ordered take out and the large soup wasn't large. Got home and it wasn't sour but definitely hot. Soup based tasted like they added ketchup... Then about to the bottom of the bowl we found a hard foreign object which nearly broke a tooth. Still cannot say what it was but it wasn't expected and not good The lemon grass chicken was okay - really nothing to write home about nor worth the time I spent writing this last sentence. I haven't been Lido's in quite a while, and decided to pick up some takeout for myself self and 2 coworkers. Ordering from the lunch special and all lunch specials are served with your choice of; hot and sour soup or drop soup, egg roll, your choice of steamed or fried rice. I love this hidden gem of a place. It's tucked away in the heart of the Asian district and one would easily miss it driving by. However, it's a place full of yummy food and different flavors. I would say Lido is a mixed of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. I especially love their Korean beef with red rice and broccoli. They have the best hot and sour soup in Oklahoma City in my opinion. I have tried their combination stirred fry egg noodles and it's pretty delicious. I always order the same things listed above when I'm here so I can't be a good judge for the other entrees. The service is always great and the staffs are so friendly! They have recently been purchased by new owners as their old owners retired. I think the quality is still the same. First the good. Staff was attentive and nice and I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the food was average. If you like 80s style Chinese food, you will like Lido. Pretty basic. First, painting the drop ceiling black was a simple but much better looking change. Besides that, not much else has changed here in decades, besides ownership. Their menu has Chinese, Vietnamese, and "French" cooking, but definitely more Americanized, and ultimately very hit and miss. I'll start with a hit...The hot and sour soup, as others have mentioned, is very tasty here. It's packed with goodies, a little thicker than some, with a nice peppery tang and what tastes like a beefy base. Orange chicken was generically sweet, simple, pretty good but not very orangey. But was freshly cooked with soft breading and chicken breast tender. Pro tip: add some chili oil (on each table) and it becomes a delicious General Tso's (which is not on the menu). Now for misses. The fried rice was flavorless -- we found only one tiny chunk of egg in it. Vermicelli noodles were some of the bland best I've ever had even with a whole (lil) bowl of fish sauce dumped on it. Meats in the combo were unseasoned, pork and beef super tough. Fried spring roll was the only good topping as they are very porky and delicious here. Dining room is dated and boring, and is packed on the weekends with local Okie families. So you get an idea who the food is catering to. Also the menu prices are a little higher than what I'm used to paying for this style and quality of food. Overall it's an okay option if you're say meeting your grandparents for lunch (many do that here). Just don't expect the most authentic cooking methods or flavorful foods, and definitely nothing modern. read more

This is my friend's favorite Chinese restaurant and when I took her out for a pick-me-up we decided to come here! We started with the Thai tea and crab Rangoon. Both SO DELICIOUS! Sweetest Thai tea and best I've ever had, the flavor was so so good. We both decided on sesame chicken lunch specials with sweet and sour soup and fried rice. I was not the biggest fan of the soup but that's usually not my thing. The chicken was amazing. It seemed like breast meat and was super fresh. It was fried to perfection with a delicious sauce. I called in to place an order to pick up as I usually do but was not happy at all! Normally a very pleasant female answers the phone but this time it was a male who was extremely rude. As I was attempting to place my order he repeatedly interrupted me and acted as if it was a complete inconvenience to even be talking to me. Picked up my order from a very nice girl, I'm assuming she is the one who usually answers my call, and my food tasted great! This was my childhood restaurant, and it's been years since I returned. The place is under new management, and it has a brighter atmosphere than I remembered--a mixture of Chinese, Vietnamese and French cuisine. I ended up getting the combination egg noodles soup. The portion was light. The wontons were delicious, while the broth was flavorful with just enough items in the noodle soup. But it isn't the best combination egg noodles soup that I've tasted. My aunt didn't like her combination vermicelli bowl because it wasn't authentic tasting due to a few missing items. Mr. described his as "borderline inedible" The soup was what happens when watered down bullion with tinned green beans and corn (??) is thrown in a pot and whisked with corn starch and an egg. And zero salt. The portion size for a large was exorbitant. The "fried" rice wasn't, and again, no flavor, and salt didn't come into the dish at any point. And oh, the curry. I got rice, not vermicelli. Sh*t happens. But: The chicken, potato, and carrots had the consistency and flavor of being boiled in water alone and added as it was being packaged to go. And the yellow curry was... Okay, I make a LOT of curries, and I've messed up A LOT of curries. Best I can tell, this was overly diluted chicken stock/bullion, a little coconut milk, and off-the-rack, basic "Yellow Curry Powder". That's it. No sweet, no salt, just sadness. read more

A long time staple of the OKC Asian district is open again. New owners but the same chefs and waitstaff. The decor has been freshened up and more lightening added. The food is still delicious, quick and very reasonable. My all time favorite is the chicken vermicelli bowl. Thinly chargrilled chicken breast atop vermicelli and veggies with a light fish sauce. Shrimp rolls are another favorite. They are not fried rolls but spring rolls. Shrimp, vermicelli, bean sprouts and mint wrapped in rice paper. They provide a delicious peanut sauce fir dipping. For an extra boost of flavor, mix in some hot chili sauce with the peanut sauce. YUM. As a part of the grand opening, they highlighted their desserts. I honestly never knew they had desserts. Do yourself a favor and decide on your dessert before you order. You can take home the leftover entree but you do nothing want to miss these sweet desserts. We love this hometown favorite and are thrilled the new honors are continuing the great food and service we've known and loved for years. read more

I used to LOVE Lido's! I came on a weekly basis. I feel as Lido's has changed since Eric and his wife retired. I have been a few different times, but It's not the same as it used to be. I ordered the Chicken and Pork Spring rolls. I have severe allergies to some of the Ingredients and I put in specific notes tonight and they were not followed. I had to have my food remade once I arrived and checked my order, and I thought it looked right at the restaurant, but upon arriving at home and starting to eat, it was not correct still. I like this restaurant but it serves what I call white people Vietnamese food. I don't think you will be disappointed, but it is hard to beat P ho that has been slow simmered. I realize a restaurant can't afford to do that and may create broth from Boullion. PI don't know if they do that here or not. But it is worth going and I also like there for vermicelli . I brought a group here based on the good reviews but wish I hadn't. The server was nice and the speed was okay, but the food was so disappointing. No one in the group was pleased with any of the soups, apps or mains. I don't know why the food was so bad on our visit when there are so many good reviews on Yelp. Maybe our experience was a fluke, but given the price Lido unfortunately is not somewhere we're going to try again anytime soon. read more

The renovations look amazing since they reopened earlier this mid-2021. I've been coming here since I was a kid and this place has always helped me feel welcomed and well-fed. This is another Chinese/ Vietnamese restaurant with a staggeringly large menu. The Vietnamese menu is large, and the Chinese side is equally as large. This was the second time I'd come in. The restaurant is in the same little strip mall as the Northern noodle house, and across the street from the large Cau Nguyen asian grocery store that I hit about twice a month. I've ordered from the Vietnamese menu both times, frog legs, both times. This time I had the curried frog legs with vegetables, and the Gia gio appetizer (deep fried sausage egg rolls, served to wrap with lettuce leaves. This was all delicious. There were a good number of customers but you can tell that things are still slow, and you can read the anxiety in the glum faces of the owners. I like the interior well enough and get a kick out of the very nice tropical salt water fish tank. Cliche, but nicely done. At least it's not the typical bare tank with a few huge coi or carp lurking in it. It's a beautiful fish tank, it really is. The first time I came in, months before, I'd ordered the frog legs in pepper and butter, which was no where near as good as the curried frog version. That first time was around lunch time on a Sunday, and I was the only customer. I got to chat up the owner. Surprise, surprise, she and her husband are ethnic Chinese from Vietnam. So that's why they can pull off both parts of the ginormous dual culture menu. I sort of slightly goaded her into confessing the trials of owning a restraint in these trying times. Yes it is hard to get good waiters to come back when they're getting $600 a week in stimulus checks. It forced her to take only the better wait staff back, and pay them a little more. We talked politics, state of the economy, all kinds of things. This restaurant has more potential, I think. If they could get back to full swing, then they could start serving fresh not frozen meats and pull their rating up a bit. It sits at a solid 4 stars now, not bad. This is one of the better asian restaurants in town, so I intend to be back many times, and will try the Chinese menu. Get out and support your local restaurants y'all. read more
