I had a really negative experience at Lids in Del Amo Mall. I ordered a hat online mainly because it advertised free customization, and nowhere on the website did it say I needed to bring a flyer or barcode. When I went into the store, the manager refused to customize it because I didn't have something to scan, which I was never given in the first place. I also didn't receive any paper confirmation with my order, only an email order confirmation. Instead of trying to help or offer a solution, they just turned me away. It felt like they didn't care at all about fixing the issue or honoring what was advertised online. Super disappointing experience. If you're ordering online for customization, don't expect the in-store staff to help you. read more

i was going there to get a hat for my uncle and i was in a rush. they were closed 15 min before the closing time. very unacceptable.

Located inside the Del Amo Mall in Torrance. This is a very small store so with Covid right now only 5 people are allowed in the store that's including the workers which is usually 2 to 3. So on a busy day like the weekend you'll be waiting for a while. I usually come here for my hats to be embroidered. Mainly the fitted caps thanks to Ryan M. for getting me hooked on this. Anyways for a small store they do have a pretty good selection of caps. For today I was lucky even though it was busy due to it being a Saturday the embroidery was quick I asked them how long they said about 10 mins so I paid and they said to come back if there is a line just go to the door and show my receipt so after 10 mins I go back to the door ahead of the line and they had my cap done. Great service today. Overall a good store for being small the downside is the selection of teams in each sport of course you'll have a good amount of choices for the LA teams. read more

What can I say. They had what I needed when I needed it. Came to this location to pick up a Dodgers World Series hat. There was quite a line as you could imagine as it was a hot item, but moved fairly quickly. Nice assortment of hats, as all Lids do. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was due to the two staff members. Very monotone and borderline rude. I've never understood why people work in a place, that's supposed to help customers, yet act like they hate their job. Anyhow, glad they had what I needed. read more

Worst experience I had recently here with a young man there named Ty. On 2/20/2023 at 7:29pm. The register number is 6326-04 and the cashier number is 627734. His name is Ty. I walked in with a friend and needed help finding a size that was too high up. I asked if he had a 7 1/4 in a hat and he told me "everything is in order so if it isn't there, it's not there". Didn't bother to help me at all or at least check for me, my friend who is taller had to help me and guess what, the size I needed wasn't even in the right "order". I was gonna pay Apple Pay because I've been here before and he told me "do you have the card because this will go much faster if you do." What does that even mean??? And he told me that I had to make two payments for the total, which I have never even done that last time I was there. My card wasn't working because the reception was terrible and he kept sighing and seemed irritated because of it and at the end I said thank you and he ignored me. He had a complete attitude when I first got there and really something needs to be done because this is not a good person to be working there if this is a service based store. read more

Saw an advertisement stating "Lids Memorial Day Sale, Buy 2 Get 1 Free". A nice female employee helped me pick out three Baltimore Orioles hats in the correct size. I go to pay, and a rude guy wearing a Phoenix Coyotes Jersey curtly explains to me that these hats were not part of the sale. I picked three "authentic hats". Buying two authentic hats counts as the "Buy 2". But, The free hat must be a non-authentic hat. Meaning I need to get one of those Yankee hats that are camouflaged, or a Dodger hat all in red, or a Giants hat that is 100% blacked out. Those all suck. And those awful non-authentic hats cost the exact same amount ($37.99) as the authentic hats. So why not let me take an authentic hat for the exact same price? I felt duped. As soon as I expressed the slightest sign of disappointment the clerk went into full "I don't care mode". He wouldn't assist me in finding another hat in my size. And just turned around and talked to the other young guy working the register. The whole experience left with a terrible feeling towards this store. read more

Went yesterday and bought five hats, all personalized and embroidered. It took an hour to get it done. When it was done I picked them up and only when I got home I saw that one hat that had a phrase on it was misspelled! I called up the place the next morning and the guy told me that there's nothing that can be done. They wouldn't refund it or replace it with a correct one. It's unacceptable!! I spent $170 on all the hats and they wouldn't even replace the mistake made. Contacted the customer service and they kept referring me back to the store. Shameful!! Stopped in this past weekend to shop for a hat I was looking for and to try to get the complimentary Kobe embroidery they had been advertising on a hat I already own. It was a Sunday, so it was a busier day, but I did not feel welcome here from the get-go. An employee noticed I was waiting by the embroidery area and immediately said "embroideries are on hold, try again next week." Shortly after, I saw them start to embroider someone else's hat so I went to ask another employee there what the deal was and the original employee intervened and then told me that specifically the free Kobe embroideries were on hold. Not sure why I wasn't told that from the start but after that I left and decided I'll shop for my hat at another Lids location. I get that you're busy and maybe you have to put a complimentary service on-hold during busy hours, but be transparent about that from the beginning and act like you work in customer service instead of being rude and harsh with people. read more

Created my custom hat here. Small place, but each wall has a selection of hats in them. Custom hats, Sports hats, etc. Flex Fit, Sports, Blanks, AdiZeros, Famous, Rockstar, you name em. They have deals too such as Buy 1 and get the 2nd hat half off. So my friend bought one as well. Creating a custom hat takes awhile though. (Maybe 10-20 minutes.) That' how long I waited for mine. Next time I come here, I'm going to add my nickname to my hat. haha read more

Customer Service was TERRIBLE. We walked into the store and no one was there. 5 seconds later someone comes walking in behind us. (......) The employee was hanging out at another store across Lids. He left the store completely unattended!! And even after walking in AFTER his customers, he didn't even greet us. The whole time we were looking for our hats, he was of no help. Maybe about 10 minutes in he asked us what we were looking for. We told him the specifics, he kind of browsed around, and then said "We don't have it." We were there for a while (more than half an hour I think) looking at different styles and different sizes, and he didn't even bother to extend another offer to help. read more

We love this Lids location!!! Everyone is so friendly and always offers to help. For Christmas I got my hubby a Star Wars hat and a USC hat for me on that bogo 50% off sale. The Star Wars hat was fine except Lids placed the bar code sticker on the bottom of the bill - which did not mix well with the shiny green material on the bill. When we tried peeling the sticker off, the residue from the sticker remained on the bill and the sticker would not come off in one piece. We went to the store to either return or exchange it. A big thank you to Callah for meticulously trying to remove the sticker. She was able to get most of the residue off but some of the shinny green material came off with it. We ended up getting a gift card in exchange for the hat. read more

Came to exchange a hat I got for my dad that was too small. The guy that originally helped me couldn't help with the exchange which I thought didn't make sense. They had us wait for the manager like 30 minutes and when we were helped by the manager Maritza she did not even acknowledge or greet us waiting 30 minutes. To top it off didn't even put the hats in the bag for us. She provided really bad customer service. We are now very disappointed customers. The only reason I'm not giving one one star is because the original associate was actually nice and helpful. I ordered four items online and I was supposed to pick them up at this location. I received a phone call earlier today informing me that all the items I ordered were the wrong order and some of the items weren't even in stock! I am so upset because this is right before Christmas and now I cannot get the gifts out on time. I talked to multiple supervisors with no results. I was told I can get my money back or reorder similar items but that is besides the point. I honestly feel like no one at this company cares about my situation. I will never order anything from hear again. This was the most horrible experience I have ever had with any company. This company SUCKS - I ordered an online "Electronic Gift Card"....on a Wednesday to be delivered within 24 hours of ordering...this was for my son's birthday on Friday. I called on Thursday to see where the "electronic" gift card was..."oh, it should get pushed out tonight at midnight and you should have it first thing in the AM"....nothing. Called Friday AM..."oh you should have had it by now..."....nothing. Son's birthday came and went. Called Saturday..."so sorry...i'll run down to accounting and have them "push" this out to you"....nothing. Called on Sunday, spoke with ED...apologized and said I should get it Monday...in the meantime...he sent a $15 "electronic" gift card for the inconvenience. HA!!!! Monday (9/14) - I receive the $15 gift card...no sign of the original "electronic" gift card that I ordered on 9/9. Oh and I should mention that each time I was on HOLD for more than 45 mins for their customer service department....once for 1 hour 13 minutes. What a pathetic company to deal with. They have NO CLUE what customer service means!! And who the fuck says "electronic" gift card when they have no intentions of honoring that delivery service. Horrible customer service.... I'm at the store right now and they not only didn't do an embroidery for my hat (their machine kept breaking and not working ) but they were not even apologetic about my damaged hat! How is this called a business? !!!! They are so indifferent that my jaw is literally on the floor trying to believe what I'm hearing from them. Please stay away from this store. There are multiple different stores you can go to for the same service. They don't deserve to be successful.
