Location: Perfectly situated away from the noise of town yet close enough to walk but you're better off driving to the town Leavenworth which is approximately 5 minutes away. Accommodations: Perfect Bed and Breakfast place with only 7 guest rooms (all the rooms are upstairs but one). The rooms are very quiet, no noise from foot traffic in the lobby or hallways, or young uns. The room decorations are exactly as you see them on their website. Large comfortable bed with warm fluffy pillows and comforters. We were very fortunate to stay at two different rooms during our stay. The Almorosen and Dornroschen with both very different and unique feel. Waking up every morning standing on the balcony with fresh coffee overseeing the snow on the valley and nearby mountains was magical. Breakfast: How do I describe it other than seeing every photos posted does not do it justice. It was very German theme and man it was so delicious !! (not the standard hotel continental breakfast either). The staff and host was on point every day ready to serve your needs. After walking around town there's always late treats (cake, pastry or cookies) waiting for you in the kitchen to have with a variety of tea or coffee. They also have an area with a giant fireplace and piano you can relax. There are Christmas trees everywhere (bedroom, eating area, relaxing lobby and stairway leading upstairs) fully decorated with lights. Every thing about the decorations, food served was very European (German). Service: First class service everyday. If you needed privacy or room cleaned you got it, always fresh thick towels with a warm bathrobe waiting in closet. The proprietor (Hayley) I hope was her name was super friendly and gave a little history about Abendblume and the town of Leavenworth. Staff was very helpful as previously mentioned. By far this was THE BEST Bed and Breakfast Place we have ever stayed. Every attention to details (inside the building and outside) was well thought out with a German theme. Hayley suggested we come back during late spring when the valley is blooming with beautiful colorful flowers, which we are already planning to do. Thank you very much Hayley and your staff. After an sudden winter snowstorm of 6", our vehicle was stuck leaving us lost, cold and unsure how to get to Scandanavian Escapes. After a a quick call to Linny, Mr. Vern gladly retrieved us from our car (which was stuck in the snow!). After hearing that we had not eaten supper, Mr. Vern was nice enough to provide us with both a taxi number and a lift into town. The online pictures don't do the "Birchwood Tree House" justice, but it was our favorite room in the house. Although a smaller room, the decor was beautiful and cozy and we loved the bird theme. The private deck was a nice touch and the morning coffee + breakfast in bed truly made the tree house unforgettable- we can't recommend this room enough. Their hospitality was outstanding- we had such an incredible time at the Scandanavian Escapes that we're already planning our next stay at the Birchwood Tree House. All the little touches made it such a luxurious experience - the clean bath rooms, the homemade cookies, the guest area stocked with drinks/coffee/tea, the embroidered napkins and personalized mugs. Our room had a step-in waterfall shower which was incredible. Great room is stocked with board games and brochures. Rooms come with smart TVs for unwinding. And oh my gosh the breakfast was absolutely filling, delicious and healthy to boot! Laurie was so accommodating with my vegetarian diet as well (she made me veggie sausage). Homemade blueberry streusel baked french toast, sausage, and fresh berry parfait. All in all a 5 star experience.

The space is amazing with so many great features. The fireplace is on an auto timer for 1 hour, the bathroom has heated flooring & the tv pops up out of a stand at the end of the bed. The bed itself has been superb. I have loved the hospitality Brian & Rochelle have shown us. We have had breakfast daily for $15 a person & it has been delicious! Decent size fridge with Keurig, and bar sink. Spacious bathroom with shower, tub, two sinks, fan and heater. The placement of the tub is genius, where you can open the doors to watch the TV in the bedroom. Daily housekeeping like a hotel. The only disappointment is that the outdoor heated soaker tub was out of service. I wish they told us prior to checking in. Very secure place with dedicated covered parking. Mike did a great job plowing the road so often that the roads stayed safe to go into town the next day even after a foot of snowfall overnight! Bonnie had a list of events and places to go to in town printed out for us upon our arrival with the list she also handed us a map so we would know how to get around. The house was super comfortable and cozy. We felt right at home. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved that everything was within walking distance. Bonnie is a great cook and she made some really great breakfasts while we were there. This was the first time I've ever stayed at a bed and breakfast and it was an amazing experience. I highly recommend Hause Chikamin to anyone coming into town. We plan to come back during the warmer months and booking with Bonnie and Brian again.
