I was looking for the nearest pool and they took the time out of their day to find the closest pool and hours! I think every club needs to have a good set of personal trainers! I was able to work briefly with Shad! He didn't have a client at the time and he was able to show me a few shoulder workouts! That is what you call love for the job because most trainers would have been focused on booking you but he just wanted to help me get my shoulder workout done right! One morning I was taking my 2-year-old to the Kid Zone when he urgently needed to use the restroom. We were clearly in a rush, but the front desk employee stopped me and insisted I scan a QR code before letting us pass. The interaction felt unnecessarily strict and passive-aggressive. If I didn't have a membership, I wouldn't even be able to use the Kid Zone, so the situation could have been handled with a little more understanding given that I was trying to help my child get to the restroom. What made the experience worse was the tone. It felt like a scene was made in front of my child over something that could have been handled calmly and quickly. For a gym that charges close to $50 a month, I would expect a higher level of customer service and basic courtesy. I spoke with someone at the register afterward and was told the manager would be informed, but it has been over two weeks and I haven't received any follow-up or apology. Between that experience and the already high membership price (especially considering the sauna often smells unpleasant), I decided to cancel my membership. I'm very disappointed and will be going to a different gym moving forward. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this location based on my experience.

While traveling for the past 9 months I tried to cancel my membership and was unable to due to proper documentation. I live out of Airbnb's and hotels with no place of permanent residence. I was promised a hold for 3 months which would put me to September 2020 and to be credited the charges to my account for the months of October and November 2020. (My 12 month membership ended September 2020). I just reached out to the gym to cancel and get an update and I am told that my account has been canceled and that I was put into collections this past October 2020. Mind boggling! ?? While asking to speak with upper management, Vince says that he is and there is no one else I can speak with. ... unless he is the owner?? this is just a lie. I'm now in contact with Kingston the collection agency as well. How I owe over $200 is just pure ridiculous- as the company owes me reimbursement/credits. I'd like for this to be taken care of. I've found multiple roaches near the stretching pads and was told they sprayed for pesticides. Not sure if that was inside but what are the lovely health benefits of rolling around in pesticides, dust bunnies and sweat! The problem might be the front desk staff trying to hit on people just trying to workout while one 60+ year old janitor is on shift busting their back (all the respect in the world for these ladies btw). The sauna is not very clean with sweaty paper towels stuffed in the corners. The bathroom drain is always backed up and a plumbing company is there almost monthly to snake them. Second issue, staff. Machines are constantly broken and take months to repair. Not all but a few workers will get a nice little lift in while clocked in, leaving weights behind and front desk unattended letting the floodgates of high schoolers in for social hour. I'm willing to guess a majority of them don't have memberships. Third, the environment. The shift from going to the gym for a workout has shifted to chasing tail and creepy games of eye tag with grown men hunting girls down, like a lion on the Serengeti. What goes from a simple hello turns into a 30 min conversation blocking the only machine that this place has. I've tried showing up at a different times to avoid all of these issues and seem to get faced by all them at once every time. I just want to end this with, I've never written a review before but just seeing LA Fitness falling apart is not a pretty sight. Closing nicer facilities around the valley that offered better amenities such as steam rooms, towels, a clean pool and spa has not been a smart move. Keep up the outstanding work fellas!!!

I hopped on a Precor treadmill and tried to connect my iPhone. No luck. I asked staff on the floor if there was an app. No one knew. I went home and did a quick Google search. Precor uses the Preva app. Downloaded it. The app immediately asked for a club code. I called the Chandler location. Spoke with two people. Neither knew what I was talking about. I called two other locations. Same result. I finally spoke with an assistant manager. They checked with the general manager. Still no answer. Not a single person knew that Precor even has its own app. That alone was surprising. What happened next was worse. The assistant manager told me to call corporate. I did. The person who answered had clear attitude, no answers, and no idea who could help. I was then given the phone number for a local Precor sales rep. That is not a support experience. That is a handoff. I am writing this from two perspectives. 1) As a club member, this was frustrating and disappointing. 2)As a business consultant, this is exactly the kind of frontline failure I would escalate to ownership. You promote premium equipment, but your staff is not trained on basic features members actually use. You promote friendliness, but the experience felt indifferent, plus corporate attitude. You promote community, but new members are left to figure things out on their own. Mountainside Fitness started with smiles and towels. Somewhere along the way, the smiles stopped meaning much. (P.S. gave two stars because the physical gym is nice, equipment is good. But then again, that is the entry level expectation that every decent gym has. Customer service is the differentiator)

Member BIlling. The billing at the Val Vista Club Gilbert has been screwed up for the past 4…read moremonths. The upgrades in their system has lost long term members correct billing information. 1) Members like myself since 2022, have had the same Credit Union Checking Account and Bank Routing information on their Planet Fitness Account with ABC for more than 3 years. 2) This club states that they have been making system upgrades and as a result-- some members information has been lost and even not able to be found on the 17th of each month. 3) Trying to explain to managers or expecting a follow up return call about the billing errors--- Never happens. 4) Credit Union Members generally have One account # for all accounts but also a code that delineates to draw from Checking. ABC can't find this code any more because after this club's upgrades vital Member information was lost. It's been happening for the last 4 Billing Cycles and management fails to listen, follow-up or correct. Dismissive most of the time 5) Members can be seen at desk about double billing, gratuitous late charges due to their inability to locate necessary account information for ABC to process payments 6) While a member since 2022, this billing fiasco is getting old. They pulled from my same checking from April 2022- until the problems started after Easter of this year 2024. April May June July August September--- some strange billing problem
