Select Medical Orange County Cup 2025
    Linh Y.

***This review is for Carvana PPA Tour Event only held at Life Time*** My eldest daughter and I returned to Life Time to watch the Select Medical Orange County Cup this past June 2025. It's always nice to come here and be spectators on some amazing pro pickleball matches. We only attended the Semi-Finals on Saturday and Championship Finals on Sunday. It is so much fun to watch great pickleball showcased by Anna Leigh Waters, Anna Bright, Catherine Parenteau, Rachel Rohrabacher, Jorja Johnson, Tyra Black, Parris Todd, Ben Johns, Gabriel Tardio, Hayden Patriquin, Federico Staksrud, JW Johnson, CJ Klinger, Connor Garnett, and many other players. I normally don't watch the amateurs play. However, one day, I would like to compete in the amateur circuit just to experience it at least once. If I really like it, then I may continue it for longer period of time. The only gripe I have at this event is the limited food options they offer. I feel they need to offer more from Life Cafe or have some food trucks come through. I understand space is limited, but they can fit about two or three food trucks on site IMHO. Hope they will make some changes to this venue in the near future. On the bright side, the free shuttle from and to Outlets of San Clemente is great. It's a well oiled system. The drivers are always pleasant and nice. Thank you to all the drivers for their great service! Till the next pickleball tourney... let's play pickleball!

This review is strictly for the PPA event. It was a pretty gloomy and misty day, but you can still see how beautiful this facility is. Located in the hills of Rancho San Clemente, just minutes away from the beach, I can imagine how great it must be to play tennis or pickleball at the courts here when it's nice and sunny. The PPA event was essentially held outdoors, only members were allowed inside and in their cafe. They had a separate area for bathrooms (a truck and portables) and the food offered to spectators were like school cafeteria or airport store foods (cold and premade). The events and competitions were a lot of fun, they had LOTS of courts in the back, which kind of made it hard to navigate around or watch other players since seating were pretty much nonexistent... but it was a great venue overall. To catch really good action, you had to just stay in the championship court. Lots of excitement there, saw some amazing plays, and got to interact with some pros in the crowd.

BEST MASSAGE OF MY LIFE?... Yes. Yes it was. Every massage I have had here has been exceptional but Michael at San Clemente Life Time Spa was so incredibly good. My sister went to him last month and told me he was the best but the experience surpassed what I had hoped for. He was so informative and hit every spot I needed. I have zero tension left in my entire body and feel like I am walking on a cloud. I hope he stays at this spa forever! This will be the Christmas gift I give for every family member this year!

Lifetime Athletic San Clemente is one of the best all round fitness experiences you will ever be a part of. Before I share the features of the club, I have to tell you one of the primary reasons Lifetime Athletic San Clemente is so great is the General Manager Devin Samtani. He is a true leader in the fitness industry and it shows through his staff and how inviting the club is. Devin is visible throughout the club if you're working out in a HIT class or playing pickleball. He is very responsive to members needs and creates an atmosphere that you will always want to bring your family and friends to. Now to the features of the club! If you goal is to play tennis or pickleball that day you will walk through the doors and see the amazing championship court where top players and even the PPAtour makes its annual stop to showcase pickleball with the best pros in the world. After a great time of playing tennis or pickleball you can join a yoga class, work out with high quality strengthening equipment, or enjoy personal services such as a massage, hair or other even a pedicure! Your kids can play in the resort like pool and feel safe with their attentive staff diligently watching. Don't miss out and join Lifetime Athletic of San Clemente! There is no parking (even on the street) in January or during their weeks-long tournaments. Even so, they keep selling memberships.

Very reminiscent of that Family Guy scene where someone looks directly into the neighbor's Christmas lights and loses their vision. (Star Blizzard) Joking aside, the lights are extremely bright and harsh, especially when you're lying on your back or doing floor exercises and they're directly in your line of sight. I can't imagine they're comfortable for anyone with light sensitivity, migraines, or certain neurological conditions. Some softer or indirect lighting in that room would be a huge improvement.

The manager--who is 27 came across as extremely unprepared and unprofessional the entire time. The interview had no structure, included awkward comments, and halfway through I was genuinely thinking, "Where did I end up?" It almost felt like a joke. To be clear, I'm not bitter about not getting the job; I actually called afterward to withdraw my candidacy myself, trying to be professional. I was told they'd call me back, but instead they said they were "in a meeting" and never followed up, which says a lot. Walking around the facility didn't help either. The restrooms were pretty disgusting. The floor a mess. After reading other reviews, I'm not surprised they're so negative. From my experience, this place seems very poorly managed, especially with someone so inexperienced in charge. Definitely not somewhere I'd want to be associated with.

I walked in a little nervous -- okay, very nervous -- since it was my first class and my first time ever doing Pilates, but I immediately felt so welcomed. Kristin was incredibly warm and kind from the start. She checked in with me throughout class, made thoughtful adjustments when I needed them, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident the whole time. That kind of attention makes such a difference! The entire class had such a supportive, positive vibe -- no intimidation, just encouragement. I woke up today definitely feeling yesterday's workout (hello, muscles I didn't know I had!) but already feeling stronger and so proud of myself for trying something new. I'm officially hooked and can't wait for my next class!

The Megaformer class itself was challenging and well worth taking. Unfortunately, what happened afterward completely changed my impression of the studio. About 16 hours later, I received a "missed class" email that was surprisingly harsh and off putting, especially as a first time client. I was never aware that I needed to check in on the iPad, and as a new guest, I assumed my attendance was already accounted for. Had I known there was a separate check in process, I would have happily completed it. While I understand the need for attendance and cancellation policies, the tone of the email felt accusatory and unwelcoming. Instead of reaching out to verify what happened, the message immediately focused on strict policies, penalties, and waivers. As someone trying the studio for the first time, it left me feeling more like a problem than a valued customer. Allison deserves recognition for providing an excellent class experience, but the studio's follow-up communication left such a negative impression that it overshadowed what was otherwise a great workout. I hope the studio considers a more welcoming approach for first time clients, especially when attendance issues may simply be the result of confusion about the check in process. **EDIT TO ADD- Was just charged a late cancellation fee, I do not recommend this studio.
