I'm obsessed with Lifetime Fitness. I first joined to the Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville-- it's brand new, has a SWEET outdoor pool (perfect for the summer) and was close to where i was living at the time. Since I moved to uptown, i wanted to keep my membership-- so I checked out the St. Louis Park Location. It's awesome. The classes are great (especially Tuesday night Yoga/Pialtes fusion), and they offer a ton of options at a ton of different times. I really only go for the classes. But they do have a ton of eqiupment, all new, as well as a pool and tennis courts. You don't need to bring your own lock (which is awesome because i never remember my combos), and the locker room is equipped with nice showers, hot tub, sauna, and even q-tips and mouthwash pumps! I have taken advantage of the Salon at lifetime-- i've gotten a few facials there. They offer monthly discounts on spa services and I've gotten facials for as low as $27! I have two negatives about this gym (but the goods are so good these negatives barely matter to me). First, the parking BLOWS. I go right after work, which is peak time for them. Sometimes I drive around the parking lot for 15 minutes looking for any open spot. Literally, every single spot is often occupied. Secondly, when i transfered from Lakeville-- I was "gold" level member. Now, St. Louis Park is a "platinum" level club. So my fees went up from $50 a month to $60 a month. At first, I was peeved because it's not like i was going to be doing anything different at this gym. But after trying out LA fitness (and hating it) i didn't mind coughing up the extra $10 a month for the gym. It might be a little more expensive than other gyms, but SO worth it. If not for Lifetime, I doubt I'd go to the gym at all. read more

This is a beautiful facility! Wow! The location has everything you would ever need or want. Great workout area, tennis, racquet spots, cafe, spa and medical spa. The renovations they did a few years ago typify the attention to detail Life Time is known for. The staff is friendly and courteous. I can't say enough about the childcare center at this location! The women here are genuine, fun loving and sweet. They get to know all of the children by name and make even the most timid child feel comfortable. My kids love it here! This facility is also one of the best. This really is a fabulous gym. I love the classes offered at this location. Favourite instructors include: Katie (lead instructor - check out her step classes), Holly (strictly strength and kickboxing), Bruce (strength). The gym is beautiful and clean. I have never had to wait for a machine. The patrons are friendly and you don't get an icky or uncomfortable vibe from anyone. The only downside is that parking can be a pain during peak times. The location is also located right by a Costco so you can go workout and then go to costco for a "tapas" type lunch courtesy of all the samples, haha :) read more

Lifetime is an excellent Gym to be a member of. It offers many amenities from a health dinner in onyx and diamond level buildings, to regular classes of different varieties (cycle, yoga, running, golf, core, strength training), to a variety of different spa, health, and wellness resources to tap into. With swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, indoor tracks, and saunas (not at all locations, but if you log into lifetimefitness.com you can see which features each individual gym has) life time gyms have just about all I could ever ask for. And with your membership you get bucks that you can use forwards features the gym offers that require a little extra out of pocket (like the cafe and spa treatments) With it having so many features and being close to all expense covered, the cost of the membership is quite steep in comparison to most. But if you plan on utilizing the free classes offered and extra amenities offered that most other gyms don't have, then it'll be well worth the extra money. I love this gym and it has amazing amenities and the environment is the best. The people are awesome. I've been going to lifetime since 2009. At first I was not sure about getting a gym membership but I love it. And also as a fat person I feel comfortable doing anything I want to do including any studio classes and I have never been body shamed or made uncomfortable. It's fancy and not stuffy. I could spend all day there. There are also great healthy food options in the restaurant. Highly recommend to everyone! read more

the sauan and steam room and frequently broken down and it is tough to find a locker to put your stuff, one that works anyway. when going to the second fitness floor, be prepared to be oggled by one of the trainers there. I believe he is the manager. He will stare you down, esp if you bring your daughter to work out. It makes me feel creepy. I would never want to bring another woman there. The GM, Kerry is very nice, but this trainer dude will try to stare females down and it is gross. So gross that I will only go to plymouth now, or at least not with my precious daughter. The dude def has a problem with women and it makes it a very scuzzy environment for a woman. read more

We bring our son to the child center while we get our workout in and the child care workers are great! Leo always leaves happy. $20 for a monthly fee to take him to the care center is well worth it! The gym itself is well maintained and clean. There are basketball, tennis, and racket ball courts to utilize. The equipment is newer and nice. I have been a member of many gyms and lifetime has been my favorite across the board. read more

This review concerns pricing and facility. I am originally from Chicago IL and was in town for business recently. I was looking for a nice gym I could spend a couple hours in between my schedule. I arrived at Lifetime at about 0930 on a Friday morning. The parking lot was full but they did have a parking garage which was accommodating. I proceeded inside and was greeted by a very nice woman at the front desk. I asked her how much a single day pass would be as I would only be in the gym a couple of hours. She informed me that a single day pass was 60$. I asked again because I was in shock at the ludicrous amount for a couple of hours. The facility seemed very nice, clean, full of friendly people, and in a well-off neighborhood. I'm sorry to say I did not even make it past the front door because of the atrocious fee. read more

I liked Lifetime while I was there but my low rating is because I am now being held hostage by Lifetime Fitness! Won't let us quit & we've moved 4 hours away! Demanding certified letter & won't accept THAT until they confirm we really sent it! Are there really people who send fake letters to Lifetime to get random people out of the gym? I was very fortunate to be invited as a guest to Lifetime Fitness on my trip to Minneapolis. This is definitely a higher end Fitness Club. I've been to quite a few and this one would definitely compete with Equinox or even come close to Sports Club LA. I loved the locker rooms, hot tubs, spa, indoor tennis courts, basketball, squash, etc. I really appreciated their smoothie bar with all of the healthy menu options. It's also VERY roomie and I didn't feel that it would ever be crowded which is definitely a pain. I liked that I wasn't bothered when I was working out. It's HUGE. You could easily get lost in that place. read more

Today my younger brother came in and told me what terrible thing happened to him at this lifetime location. The concierge, Jacky Adams, called him a LOSER (to his face) when he walked in and discovered that his account was on hold (college student). He told me that he entered as a guest with his significant other and she ordered someone to get him and bring him back to the front desk. It was then when she verbally assaulted him and called him names and said he was nothing ( AT LOSER). My family have been members of lifetime before 2000 and the disrespect that was received today is absolutely disgusting. As a Mexican American, I am so disappointed in the actions that this individual took to discriminate/ dehumanize against my younger brother. I remember when we were kids getting swim lessons at lifetime however, those great memories have changed once I heard of the disgusting actions of Jacky Adams. read more

This club has great facilities, from nice locker rooms and showers, to a good sized pool, plenty of places to do individual workouts and great group classes! In the winter the parking lot here is INSANE. It will make you want to rip your hair out. If you come right after work, or on Saturday morning, park across the street and take the shuttle over from the Parkdales, you will not be sorry! They also have tennis courts on site, indoor driving range, the Life Spa and Life Cafe. Dues are around $90 a month for a single person. read more

In last several months Saint Louis Park Lifetime has gone downhill VERY FAST! We frequent the facility almost daily since 2016 when we joined and throughout pandemic. For paying $185 a month for my partner and I, it is unacceptable that on Friday, November 5, 2021 and several times in last 6 months entire men's Locker room at 6pm didn't have single towel to dryoff. Two out 7 door shower stalls 2 were taped off for non functioning. There was no shampoo in remaining 5 and soap was switches to cheap product, for probably cost saving measure. Carpets were unvacumed and gym weights floor had garbage wipes all over. Cafe was out of most items. Again, this is probably their most profitable facility but yet service and qualify went downhill and probably on worse than L.A. Fitness or what in some parts of the county is/was 24-hour fitness. Time to cancel and not worth reputation or brand. Don't waste you money! read more

I just came back from working out there and it took twice as long as it should have. All these people sitting on machines looking at their phones and then they are using a machine and have a water bottle or towel sitting on another machine and if you try to work in they tell you they are using the machine.If you are going to work out then work out and get off your phone. And as a reminder those machines are for all members. Nice place to work out and for what they charge it should be nice. But there are a bunch of jerks that go there. Think they own the entire place. It is not worth the hassle of going there. Time to move on. read more

Went to play tennis at 8pm on a Saturday - all 11 courts were open for the rest of the evening but we were not allowed to play because we didn't make a reservation before 4pm .. also if you are an adult swimmer, know that the pool is usually occupied with young children's swim lessons. Make sure you wipe down the equipment before and after you use it, as most people do not wipe down their machine after use. Women's locker room is cramped. The open turf area is nice with a good variety of equipment, and the group classes are good. read more

Not sure why I have not reviewed this place sooner as it is my home work out facility. It delivers what it promises...a good sized gym with plenty of amenities and options including an indoor pool, indoor track, fitness consultations and a cafe'. However, if you are more of a minimalist like I am, it is overkill. I don't need a gym with a chiropractor clinic, social member gatherings and a hair salon in it. I need a place to get in an efficient workout. The reason I still belong here is that it is convenient, has multiple locations even in other states, and it opens early. The biggest downside for me is that if I want to work out during the afternoon rush hours, it becomes a congested meat market where people are fighting for parking and waiting for equipment to free up. As long as I come at the off hours, it works out well for me but I do feel like I pay expensive and continually increasing dues for the privilege of having to work around its short comings. read more

This gym increases my stress level. The parking is a complete nightmare - you often have to park in the overflow lot and take the shuttle over, which only comes every 15 minutes. Classes fill up 30-45 minutes in advance, and combined with the parking, I need to leave my office at 4:30 for a 6pm class, and that is just impossible. Lockers are not always available and classes, when you can get a spot, are so crowded. Despite the fact that Lifetime can't support it's current membership, it's running a membership drive to make things even worse for current members. I pay nearly $100 a month for this club - and I expect better service. read more

This place is the absolute worst. Last month my locker was broken into and money stolen from my bag. Upon reporting to the general manager, Kerry, he persisted upon victim blaming me for even bringing my valuables into the locker room in the first place, saying that "we have thousands of clients daily and nobody has this issue". I beg to differ, as there are numerous reports online about others having lockers broken into at the Eden Prairie location. But I digress, as there are bigger issues with this lifetime, such as people having their cars broken into inside of their parking ramp as well. Talk about a disaster and don't even bother trying to consult their team of brainwashed sales reps or the GM who will blame you for burglaries that occur on their own property. SMH. To boot, the place is filled with the biggest douchebags and douchettes on the planet. I knew I was in for trouble when on my very first day, I asked a lady who was setting her 5lb Dumbbells on a bench if she was using the bench. "Yes, what does it look like?" She says, as she continues to workout standing 5 feet away, doing upright rows with the Dumbbells, and setting them on the bench when she was resting. To me, that's a damn crime in the gym because there are many other people who pay the same overpriced rate so we can wait for you to be done with a bench you are not even using. Completely pathetic. Don't ever go here, they only want your money and don't care about your experience. They try to sell you on all the extras too when you sign up (i.e. Personal training, classes, etc). I've worked out at many places, from the U of M rec center to LA fitness and I've never experienced such insanely rude staff or painfully douchey clientele. read more

This review focuses primarily on the yoga program. I'm a big fan of yoga they have here, and ran out of superlatives quickly. Find it in your heart to forgive me? Lindsay: Lindsay teaches a 5:30PM Friday hot yoga class which lasts 90 minutes and goes through a series of poses which will work every single part of your body. This class is incredible to say the least, it will challenge you week after week. Each class is the same, which seems like it might get old after a while, but it never does. You just realize that for each pose, there are variations and better ways you can do it that will make it even more challenging. Lindsay is an amazing instructor, she sets up each pose perfectly, gives you variations, and is very motivating at the same time. Her adjustments are divine. There's a good reason this 90 minute 5:30PM Friday class is full week after week. Lindsay teaches a 75 minute version of this class on Monday evenings, and a really good Vinyasa Flow class on Fridays right before it (not a bad idea to double up if you really want a great workout). Finally, her meditational yoga class she teaches on Friday nights afterward is fantastic. It's basically a lot of Yin Yoga poses with excellent a meditational approach for helping to quiet a busy mind. The perfect way to start a weekend... I highly recommend ANY Lindsay class. Annie: Annie teaches a 90 minute hot yoga class on Sunday at 11AM which is excellent. The class is geared toward more advanced yoga practitioners, but any beginner will easily feel right at home here (just watch your neighbor and listen to your body). Annie herself is great. This class is basically a Vinyasa Flow class with some other elements mixed in for good measure. Annie takes requests before every class so if there's something you're just dying to do, call it out. Each class is different, often starting with sun salutations and at the end focusing on learning new and different yoga skills you never knew you could do. Annie is a great storyteller and one of the best parts is when she tells the class about various mythology related to the yoga poses that she teaches. Finally Annie teaches a 75 minute version of this class on Saturday at 1PM which is also really fun. She teaches a few day weekday classes too but due to my work schedule I haven't checked them out yet. Annie's classes are always very popular and busy, and sometimes in the winter you won't believe how many people they can fit into a yoga room. Jason: Jason just arrived from Michigan before and teaches a 5PM Slow Flow class on Tuesdays. He also teaches at various other Lifetimes around the city. I highly recommend you check out any of Jason's classes. It's hard to put into words but Jason brings a really great energy and attitude to all his classes. His approach is very motivational and you will always leave feeling good inside and out. The flows that he sets up are excellent as well. I hope to get to more Jason classes in the future. Tory: Tory's classes will almost always kick your ass. And I mean that in the best way possible. You will lay there, drenched in a pool of your own sweat at the end of class with a clear and peaceful mind. Tory is also very motivational and an all-around good guy. He has a loyal following and for good reason. His Vinyasa Flows that he sets up are always great and he'll often have you laughing your ass off during the middle of class which makes yoga a lot easier and more fun. It might sound silly, but he has great taste in music and this also makes for entertaining classes. Joel: When I first started yoga and before I became a hot yoga snob, I often went to Joel's classes. Joel is really one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Unfortunately he doesn't teach hot yoga, at least at St Louis Park, but his classes really do rock. They are a great workout for beginners and even experts. Peter: Peter is extremely knowledgable about all things yoga and more, and will generously share his information with you. If you ask him something and he doesn't know the answer he will look it up for you. Peter's classes are a great place to learn all about yoga and get useful knowledge. His classes are taught in a format similar to a seminar in that you are free to ask him questions and he will integrate those questions into the class format. Jennifer: Jennifer was my very first yoga teacher starting out. She teaches a beginner class on Monday nights which is fantastic, especially when you are just starting out. She goes through all the yoga basics but will keep it interesting even if you've been going to yoga for years. Drew: Drew is a newer teacher here and a great one at that. She has mostly been subbing lately, and will hopefully get some classes of her own here soon. Her teaching style is a good combination of meditative, ass kicking and funny. Facility is way overpriced it's more like a country club. LA Fitness is right down the street and a lot more affordable.

I tend to prefer smaller gyms with adequate free weight equipment. This gym is simply a try to be all to everyone facility. Overcrowded at busy times, terrible parking especially during the evenings. Inadequate free weight area, often crowded with suburban housewives and posers. The locker rooms are adequate and nice, tho in my experience the men's is creepy. I frequently had "gentlemen" staring through the break in the shower door while I took showers. No thanks! Had a terrible experience with the personal training department, where it's all about sales! If catching up with your friends showing off the latest luluemon outfit then this place has your name all over it! Yawn... Better choices in Minneapolis for serious folks are smaller gym Los com pianos, higher power (Eden prairie) and more. read more

Do not join! They do not care about their members. The club ignores complaints of a very serious nature and allows an act of retribution to take the truth and twist it They punish the complaintant and not the violator. It is horrible. read more

Out of all of the Lifetime gyms in the twin cities, I go to this one the most. It's not the nicest one in terms of amenities, but the equipment is in the best condition and there is enough parking. Also, this location is the cleanest. The staff isn't always friendly, and sometimes you need to wait for machines because it is packed. read more

I really like this gym, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite lifetime. Everything is basically on the same level - There are tons of cardio machines, then weightlifting machines in front and free weights. The lifting area is PACKED with tons of guys who are even waiting on machines. Whenever I try to use anything, I feel like people are breathing down my neck 'waiting' for their turn. Parking used to be an issue a while back, but they added a ramp now which is especially great for the winter. Their group fitness is good - I really like Katie's classes if I can go! A lot of my favorite ones are mid-morning when I work, though. The cafe is good and convenient. The locker rooms are nice, especially since they have a separate one for executive members. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are included in the showers! The only thing is that one doesn't have a steamer, so you have to leave and walk up to the main one. Update on locker rooms: They recently renovated the executive locker rooms, which left the showers with cold water. You need to keep the shower running for at least a couple minutes to even have lukewarm water. They are about to renovate the main showers as well, so I hope they don't become like that too. They keep saying it will be fixed, but it's already been about a week now. Overall, it's a great gym, but it should be great because the price is ridiculously high. read more

I rejoined this Life Time last year. I left for a variety of reasons, chief among them was that it was so difficult to find parking. When I was looking to rejoin a gym, I was thrilled to discover that this location had built a three level parking ramp. Problem solved! I tend to go in the mornings at 7am, and I never have issues finding a spot. I've also noticed that they offer a shuttle service, but I don't go during the hours that it runs so it must be much busier in the evenings and Saturday mornings. They offer a variety of classes that are included in your membership, there is an indoor pool, tennis courts, request ball courts, basketball courts, an indoor track and a golf thing (I have no idea what goes on in there). The locker rooms are super nice. There are complimentary razors, q-tips, cotton balls, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and tampons. The showers have good pressure and doors (not shower curtains). There is a spa (aka hot tub), dry sauna and steam room. There are blow dryers and extra outlets, nice getting ready stations, and lockers that you can rent by the month or use with a key by putting in your membership card. There is every kind of machine and equipment you could ever want and lots of TVs. In the large work out area they really blast the music--I wish that was a bit quieter. The staff is all really nice, but the reason I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the amount of solicitation you'll have to endure from the trainers if you ever participate in any aspect of their personal training. They offer 1:1 personal training and group training, and will give you great deals or complimentary sessions to try it out. Once you do that, they will consistently and relentlessly try to get you to sign up for additional services, which in my opinion are very expensive. Despite my many reminders that additional services are not within my budget, I continue to get solicited. I'm also annoyed by the fact that there is additional advertising around the club, specifically on your way to the women's locker room. Usually for a dating service or some kind of Botox, or one of their "challenges" that also costs more money. Ease up on the solicitation, Life Time. You're clearly getting enough money from your members at this location. read more

Lifetime fitness in St. Louis Park is an excellent facility which is clean and has significant options for your workouts. They have a variety of group classes, a great area for cardio and numerous racquetball courts. It is a little bit overpriced but you definitely get what you pay for. Recommend to survive the harsh Minnesota winters. read more

Classes and facilities are great. However, childcare center stinks! Ipads offered for kids. Talk about mom guilt for getting a work-out in. Also, the enrollment fee covers fitness consultation stuff but the consultation stuff is kind of a joke. Had to request weighing, body composition stuff, etc- which really should be the base line for any talk. Love the yoga classes, though. read more

I have been a Lifetime Member since 2010 and because of a move, have been using St. Louis Park for about a year. It is a very crowded club - lines at the showers, crowded group fitness classes, crowded parking. Last night I drove around for 15 minutes for a parking spot. Went up to the ramp and got to the top of the full ramp to have some other member declare the turnaround spot his parking spot. I have tried some of their other programs and feel like they are just vehicles for selling other services or supplements. I don't feel like I can get unbiased advice. If it weren't for the wonderful group fitness classes or Pilates, I would not be a member. read more

My favorite location! The classes are awesome and the fitness floor is HUGE. It gets pretty busy from like 4-7 but it's not unbearable. That's about the only time you'd have to wait for a weight machine or a stair master. Other than that, incredible location. I've never had a problem at this gym, but there are so many poor reviews of this location, yikes. I like this location best because they offer several yoga classes throughout the day at various times, so it's easy to find a time that works for you. There are really great instructors here, too. Their warrior sculpt classes are epic, and very challenging. I do wish, however that they had 2 or 3 yoga studio rooms, like downtown does, which is great. I like that there are 2 areas for cardio and it's very spacious. The locker rooms are nice and I've never had to fend for space getting ready for work. It's a very clean gym with an abundance of towels, which is nice you don't have to be toting around wet towels. The cafe is decent, I like the shakes the best, and the other things I've had are good, for a gym cafe. It's nice they have food as a quick breakfast. The parking has always been good for me, only once did I have trouble in January, which is to be expected. read more
