A simple courtesy acknowledgement that I am there waiting or a text that he's behind would be client friendly but he has never ever done that. I've waited up to one hour frequently with no apology. It's unreal. Maybe that's why he sold the business- either the games made him enough money to retire or the games hit his business hard enough he had to. FYI-the new owners price list is 1/2 of Salon Prive's!

The guy used too much mousse, it wasn't what I wanted, and it was over $100!!! I've been growing my hair out but by bit for the last three years and thought nervously that it was time for a chop. I had pictures ready and everything, but when I saw her, I just gave her an idea. Medium length, highlights my eyes and waves, with volume and minimal styling. GUYS. It was only $60 and considering the look of the place I thought it was gonna be so much higher. She washed my hair, cut it with absolute precision for a whole hour, made wonderful conversation, stayed past closing time to style and blow dry it, and she DESERVED that tip I gave her. Wow. I genuinely do not like leaving bad reviews, especially because I've been coming here for almost…read moretwo years, but today was quite literally my final straw. I've gone here consistently since moving to St. Louis for haircuts, root touch-ups, color, all of it. I also truly do not care who I'm assigned to. I'm not one of those clients who needs one specific stylist every single time. I just expect basic communication, decent service, and for my appointment to actually make sense when I arrive. Coordination! Unfortunately, the vibe here has always felt off The front desk is rarely welcoming. Half the time, no one greets you, acknowledges you, or makes you feel like they are happy you're there. The energy can feel very cliquey, dismissive, and honestly kind of performative. It gives "we're all a family here," but somehow the client is not included in the family. I've overlooked a lot because I liked the actual hair services. I've waited 30 minutes past my appointment time before. I've had appointments moved around. One time, I was sent to the Webster Groves location, got there, and was then told I actually needed to go to Des Peres because they could not take me. Like...okay gas?? But today was what officially did it for me. I booked a root touch-up before a photo shoot tomorrow and a trip next week. I sent pictures and a description of what I wanted directly to the stylist beforehand. I've also had this exact type of service done through this salon multiple times, usually for around $250, so this was not some random mystery appointment. I arrived and waited around 30 minutes to be assisted, only to then be told it would cost over $400. And to be very clear, I am not asking anyone to lower their prices, undervalue their work, or change their hourly rate for me. Charge whatever you charge. That is fully your business. My issue is: why was none of this communicated nor coordinated before I showed up? You had my appointment details. You had the pictures. You had my description. You had my client history from the past two years. If the service was now going to cost almost twice what I normally paid, or if I had supposedly booked the wrong category, somebody should have figured that out before I arrived, waited 30 minutes, and left with absolutely nothing done. Even the stylist seemed surprised by how I had apparently been charged or categorized during previous appointments, which honestly just made the whole situation feel even more disorganized. That is an internal coordination issue, not something that should suddenly become the client's emergency while they are sitting in the chair So now I have a photo shoot tomorrow, a trip next week, and no hair did or done because this salon could not communicate beforehand. After nearly two years of being a loyal client, I'm done overlooking the rude front desk energy, the scheduling confusion, the long waits, and the constant lack of coordination. The actual talent may be there, but the overall experience is not. I will not be coming back. Respectfully, the vibes are not worth $400+.

I wanted a refreshed new look, and Dominic Michael gave me exactly that and more. Booking my appointment online was super easy. They had lots of time slots to choose from. I showed up to my appointment, checked in at the counter, and not long after, Gena gave me a warm greeting. The inside of the salon is super clean and welcoming. I appreciated how the floors were constantly getting swept throughout the time I was there. I'm indecisive about most things, including my hair, but Gena was very patient with me and helped me narrow down what I want. We decided to do highlights and a haircut. I have very long hair, and I have a lot of it. Gena blew me away by her thoroughness and precision. It's clear she's an expert at what she does! She applied a gloss to my hair, then Keaton took over and finished washing my hair. She was so friendly and sweet! Then, I headed over to Olivia for my haircut and blow dry. Once again, very friendly and sweet! When I was almost finished with my haircut, I thought it was so kind how Gena came back over to see me and make sure I liked my hair. She made me feel so special! I'd been looking for a new salon for awhile now, and I'm so excited that I found this place! Can't wait for my next visit!

I quickly started to see a ton of hair loss in chunks and was quick to reach out to her. She told me it was because she took out my second row and that it should get better- It didn't. I saw a new hair stylist today and she took out all my extensions and come to find out- Nicole had cut the end of two of my extensions (i have 6 in a row) making them not reusable bc of how bad the hair was falling off. Knowing how much I paid for the extensions I couldn't understand why she would do this. It ruined my extensions that I paid SO much for and were in great condition before I saw her. Needless to say I will not be back.

I went in to get a haircut from Ruby I think was her name. It was a short style (shortest I've ever had it) with some light layers. Basically what ended up happening was one side turned out okay but the other side looks like she was attempting to give be bangs (which I did not want) then took the length I wanted divided it into two and chopped off a HUGE chunk of my hair. No layering, just a hard cut. Now, I'm pretty optimistic about hair being fixable, but this is not fixable. The bottom layer is so thin and the top is about 3x as thick. I have two options to "fix" it, a) a bowl cut, or b) get a pixie cut - neither of which I want. So instead, I'm googling ways to make my hair grow faster and avoiding mirrors so I don't cry when I look at my hair. (Yes it is that bad).

Now the long story: So I'm that person that has no idea what kind of haircut I want or how to even begin trying to describe how I want my hair cut. I went in today as we do when our hair gets too long, and had the pleasure of Tashia cutting my hair. She listened to what I wanted and told me some recommendations to make what I wanted look good on me (which was greatly appreciated because oh boy I had no idea). One of the little things I loved was when I asked her to take a little off the top -get this- she only took a little bit off instead of the general 2-3 inches I've had happen at multiple other places. She is fantastic with cutting, styling, and being knowledgable about dyed hair, different styles, and little conversations to avoid awkward silences. I am/have already told my friends that's where they need to go for now on if they want to get a great haircut for a great price.

Tina is the stylist waiting for me. I tell Tina that I want my curly hair cut short but even all over. We agreed on 3". She asked if I wanted a shampoo (incl. in the price) and I asked, "don't you cut curly hair wet?" I should have known then. After shampooing, she proceeded to grab chunks of hair and cut. I stopped her, saying "I've never had it cut like that; don't you section it?" Her response, "Hon, I've been cutting hair for 40 years, I know what I'm doing. If I need it sectioned I'll section it." ‍. I've been getting this curly head cut for 50 years and NEVER experienced such a terrible job. If she hadn't already cut chunks I'd have walked out then. As you can see from the pics, the hair framing my face is about 1-1/2" long. The hair at the crown of my head is nearly 4" long. And, ANYONE who understands curly hair knows you cut it wet so that you don't cut in the middle of a curl ... see the frizz all over my head in all the pics. Never again will I need a haircut so badly that I go to such a place. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. I am so thankful that I chose to wait for MY stylist to color my hair and not get it done at FS. Dodged that bullet. The cherry on top: Tina was called to the phone, then held the phone while flipping pages in the calendar. Do you think she washed her hands before touching my "clean" hair again? Nah. I didn't say anything because I was ready to leave and knew I wouldn't be going back. #LessonLearned.
