I've been going to lifetime for about five years now, the beginning of the year around March I started seeing Adriana at the LifeSpa n let me tell you!!!!! Every time she touches my hair I feel like a brand new top model!!!! She has fantastic hands n knows what she's doing!!! Such a fun time when I'm getting my hair done! Very professional and very relatable at the same time, makes getting my hair done even more fun! Whatever I'm down for she's down! N even though I might not agree on cutting my hair she knows best n I trust her 600% of the way! Definitely a great salon wish I would have opened my eyes to it sooner! Make. Your. Appointment. Now. Kim is AMAZING. I previously had Marie cut my hair but, since she was out and I needed a cut on short notice, I went for Kim. I was nervous having someone else do it, but when I learned that Kim and Marie do each other's hair, I was sold. Kim nailed it. Everything I loved about Marie's work the year before, Kim did just as well, if not better. She truly listens, which we all know is rare at hair salons. (Ahem, the classic "just a trim" always turns into 6" missing.) The pricing is very reasonable, I only wish I could move them both to California. They are 2/2, and that's a much higher success rate than any other salon I've been to (including some uber expensive ones in Chicago and LA.) I'll be flying back for haircuts! :) read more

2 out of 4 times that I have been to this spa, I have not been satisfied with the service. This time, I got a color and cut. As Ronda was coloring my hair, she was just lathering it on without caring about my forehead or ears. I left the salon with my forehead and ears stained. It was hard to see in the light in the salon but when I stepped outside, it was so visible. The salon wanted to give me 20% off my next visit! I had just paid $150 for haircut and color and my forehead looked terrible. I have had my hair colored before and colorists are usually careful not to stain your skin. I understand that accidents happen but she was just careless during the process. read more

Leeza is the best hair stylist EVER! Whether it's a cut, color (especially balayage and highlights), or blow dry her hands are truly magic! I've have been to almost every high end salon in the northwest suburbs and was very skeptical of the people doing my hair because I wasn't never really happy with it until I started seeing Leeza at LifeSpa (and I won't ever go elsewhere) When you see her it's a guarantee you'll walk out looking and feeling your best self! Unfortunately. I did my extensions second time, she put glue too close to my skin and I had bad allergic reaction. After 3 days she took them off (no time for earlier appointment). And she charged me 50$ extra for taking them off. I was loyAl customer over one year. I won't be back never to get my hair done over there... read more

Mixed feelings.. below you will read my initial appts being awesome.. but as I progressed through my years of being a client to Marie, I was treated worse & worse, and neglected when my appt was severely delayed, with no "oh my gosh I am so sorry that previous client took so long", nothing... She was like mad & annoyed that I was there... Um hello... I trust you... I pay you hundreds of dollars each time I sit in your chair... I have since quit... but you can still read some of my good experience I initially had here:"Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete? Wouldn't you think I'm the girl...The girl who has everything? " - The Little Mermaid song, I am now basically a Little Mermaid... I LOVE MY NEW locks, and feel like the girl, the girl who has everythiiing thanks to amazing hair colorist Marie at the Life Spa! I was initially nervous about switching from the colorist I have used for the last couple years at the Asha Aveda Salon in Streets of Woodfield, but she was gone on Maternity leave, and I needed a new lady, fast! (Not dissing Asha Aveda, still a very nice salon, just wanted to try somewhere new) So I spoke to the manager Casey, a lovely sweetheart who never forgets a face, (or hair!) and showed her pictures of what I would like to have done, and asked her who she would recommend to best fit and be most comfortable to help me achieve the specific look I wanted (see my pics I posted here!) and she immediately, and without question recommended "Marie" for me! I do believe Marie is a "Senior Stylist" or something similar to that and let me tell you, she has mad skills! Jamie at the front desk patiently helped me search through Marie's schedule to find a time soon that matched up with my schedule, I just couldn't wait any longer, I was dying to get my hair color done...just beyond excited! I was able to get in very soon, it was like 2 days later, for a very early morning appointment on account of my very long very thick hair. When I arrived that morning, Marie greeted me and seated me down in her station, and I pulled out my photos, and my pinterest board pictures of ohh about 100 pics of inspiration for the right shade of red, and the look I wanted to achieve. I was so nervous because I've seen the communication go so wrong before between client and stylist, and they end up just doing what they think will be "best" without listening to what their client truly wants... I don't mean here, or even the other Aveda in Schaumburg, just... previously... and it's horrifying, especially for such a big, drastic, bright change! You want it to go smoothly... AND IT ABSOLUTELY DID! WITHOUT A HITCH!!! She showed me their hair color sample swatches and once she had a good idea of exactly the red shade I had in mind, she popped in the back to quickly mix up the custom color, while I looked in the mirror and said farewell to my faithful all blonde locks. The girl working at reception (who's name now slips my mind, I'm so sorry, I'm usually really good at making mental note of names so I can mention their amazing work in my reviews!) offered me a beverage, and she even went over to the LifeCafe to grab me a coffee (on account of it being hella-early morning... well, in my book... this girl needed some coffee stat) which was delish, I have never had coffee from the LifeCafe in LTF before, and it did not disappoint! Once the color was mixed, Marie and I got to chatting, like ladies do when at the salon, and she is a super cool chick! We had a good time learning about each other's lives as our sure to be long-time client-stylist relationship blossomed, and she was painting what looked like blood on my head, wasn't weird at all, because I was so super excited, and felt I trusted her to help me with the super fun red-blonde ombre look I wanted! (again, check out the pix.. before & after.. omg love it!) Once all the color was applied, I only had to sit for like... 15 minutes maybe? for it to finish processing, can't remember the exact time... then it was time to head back to the bowl to wash out! Having someone else wash your hair feels simply maaagical.. like a mini-massage for your scalp... Marie custom chose from their long line of products my shampoo & conditioner, and I learned that since Red is the fastest color to fade, washing it in cool/cold water will help lock in the color longer, and fade less... AWESOME! After washing all the color out, we headed back to her station where she round-brushed-blow-dried my hair into the most beautiful, sleek style... once it was finally starting to dry I could see the finished color... and OHH MAAHH GOSH! IT WAS PERFECT! EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!! EXACTLY!!! I was so relieved, and elated at my new look, it seriously could have turned to a scary shade, or had the risk to look something fiercely funky, but Marie's expert skills made it absolutely 100% perfect and just what I wanted. read more

The physical spa and services offered in itself are decent. The actual customer care and overall experience is not ideal. I asked some very broad general questions to the girls at the front desk only to be answered with, "I don't know". Zero effort put forth into finding out the answers of your own services. The lady rendering my services was late and at the end of the day I didn't receive what I actually originally came for. Overall was not impressed, was not bad but by no means good enough to desire to go back. read more

This review is for Rachel and Olena. Rachel is a very talented, detail-oriented nail tech. She makes sure your nails are taken care of and spends time to make sure she gives you a quality manicure. She also has an impressive collection of stamps that you can imprint on your nails to create designs. Olena is a masseuse. She is very professional and very good at her job. She responds to your concerns (aches, tightness) by paying particular attention to the areas causing you pain or discomfort. I highly recommend Olena. read more

I signed up for Lifetime fitness in Schaumburg today, and absolutely loved everything about the facility. I received the tour, including checking out the salon. During my consultation for a membership I was told I would receive a total of 50 "Lifetime Bucks" that I could use towards any service, including the salon. We were given additional coupons, and a pricing pamphlet. The pamphlet stated that hair color services are $50. I politely asked if I could use my 50 Lifetime bucks towards a hair color, and the receptionist snapped that hair color actually starts at $75. This definitely turned me off, since the pamphlet with the $50 price was sitting right on the counter, and they are continuing to pass it out! Why would a business blatantly lie about their pricing??? I don't think I will be trusting this salon, since they are clearly not being transparent. read more

I am an Asian with long n heavy hair!! I have been to various salons in Chicago for a good haircut but have never been satisfied. This time I tried lifespa n KIM who is a senior stylist there did a wonderful job!! Not only she did a great haircut, but she was very friendly n answered whatever questions I had regarding my hair routine. First, I want to say that I would have given this place 5 stars if it was purely based on the nail tech - Rachel!! She's the best. But this review & rating is about my TERRIBLE BALAYAGE experience. Similar experience as the reviewer on June 21, 2017, but mine occurred early June. I think we both had the same tech, Sarah. She convinced me while i was getting my nails done that she can do a great bayalage on my hair. We discussed what I wanted, and the main request was to keep it more ashy and less copper/warm colors. The result....5hours, $200+, all copper. I went back to Sarah to get it fixed, see my photo. No cost, but I tipped b/c I felt bad for the time. When I got home, noticed that it was still hideous. I could not walk out without my hair in a bun. Then I went to senior stylist, Marie, at no cost, and I tipped again. Result now? Down $300, dark roots and white blonde ends which is NOT what I wanted. I ended up having to go to a Senior Colorist at Mario Tricoci. She did an amazing job fixing the copper color and fixing the choppy/blocks of color in my hair. That was another $100+. Now it's August, and I'm writing this review because I get upset every time I wash my hair as my hair is SOOOOO damaged that my natural curls are just flat and stringy now. I'm now buying the most expensive products in the market to try to revive my lifeless hair. I don't want anyone else to end up having the same experience and losing so much money. I don't think these girls are trained to provide these very complicated hair techniques. read more

SPA OF HORRORS Never ever get a facial here. What a rip off. I usually get once every 2 month a facial and my fiancé got me and my mum gift cards to get a facial done at his new fitness club. He knows I can only do Aveda products since I break out on everything else. So I booked two 60 min facials after looking at the spa menu. Facial, Scalp Massage and so on - just the usual. $64 We arrived early (12:45pm appointment was for 1pm) to check in but we had to wait. Finally somebody took us into our rooms. OMG the music was turned up so loud. I wished I had ear plugs with me. Well I got ready and lay down and checked the clock (next to my head in bright red neon numbers on the wall) 15 min after 1pm. My facial specialist arrived and talked about products and so on. I said I only use Aveda since I break out on everything else. Well I did not get an Aveda treatment she had other thoughts about this. So she finally started and I was told she can't give a scalp massage since the State of IL does not allow them to touch a client's head with bare hands. ??? WHAT??? The facial went on and she was apparently not even allowed to touch her clients face since she barely massaged any of the creams in. No massage of the face what so ever just dabbing stuff on my face getting it on my lips eyes and so on. All of a sudden she said we are done. ??? WHAT ??? It was 1:55pm ???? That was it ??? Barely 30 min. I met up with my mum at the front desk and she looked unhappy as well. I asked how hers was and she said it was just awfully and what about the 30min. The friendly (sarcastically meant) reception lady now ringed us up. ???? $95 EACH - REALLY???? I was shocked!!! I took one of their menus displayed on the counter and asked her to explain why she asks for $95 even though there price menu states $64. "OH THIS IS JUST A BASIC AMARICA PRICE SHEET - THEY ARE NOT OUR PRICES" WHAT???? As I said never ever go here for a facial or any service for that matter. Oh and on top of this my skin broke out like crazy after my lovely visit at this spa of horrors. read more
