Weird vibe in the salon- I could not help but feel out of place. Then again, I do not like getting my hair cut, so I feel uncomfortable in pretty much every salon. I think my stylist was double booked, because I ended up waiting even though I had an appointment. Meanwhile, I saw a couple of other stylists just chilling. No problem for me, but I felt bad for her. My stylist was nice and down to earth. I have challenging hair and she did a good job. She was actually pretty quick... I've had haircuts that have taken up to 2 hours before. I was done in a little over an hour (haircut, hair straightening, eyebrow wax). Prices are very reasonable, also. read more

I came here for the first time and had color with Ewa. She was fantastic! I have long hair that is thin and lifeless and I didn't know what to do with it. She put me at ease immediately; she is very knowledgeable and such a great listener, she totally made me feel like she was a friend. She helped me pick a color that works with my pale skin, and also gave great guidance about a cut that works with my face shape and hair type. I also had a lot of questions like what products I should use at home, the best way to dry my hair and things like that - she gave great advice and I could tell she was really being thoughtful and honestly trying to help me out. She let me know she had some of the suggested products in the salon I used some at home and I'm amazed with their quality and great price. I really recommend this salon and Ewa, I got a high-end experience and results for a super price. I'll definitely be going back to Ewa in the near future, in fact I wouldn't even dream of going anywhere else. I've heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a try anyways.. that was 3 years ago. I have been going back every 2 months since then. Ewa is phenomenal with colors. She always tries something new on me and I end up loving it. She does a great job with cuts as well. It is very hard to get an appointment with her usually have to call a month ahead. And for people that complain about waiting... I work for a spa so with my own experience I know that scheduling can be hard.. you can't ever assume how long it will take .. some people take a longer time some people take a shorter time.. so get over it at wait a couple minutes it is worth it. read more

I had my haircut done by Ewa. She was very professional, knowledgeable and very gentle with my hair. She described my hair structure and advised what haircut would be best for my hair type. In general she is a very kind and warm person. I will definitely come back for another haircut. The front desk girl was very nice, but I was not asked to take a seat or to take off the coat, so I was missing a little bit of the etiquette in the salon. The haircut itself was pretty good, but the atmosphere and customer service at the salon needs a serious improvement. With the exception of the receptionist, everyone at the salon makes you feel like you definitely do not belong there. I did not have to wait for my appointment, but the lady who cut my hair (I went just for a trim) took 1 hr 20 min to do it. Throughout the entire time, she wouldn't say a word to me but kept talking to another stylist next to us. They were gossiping about other stylists at the salon .The stylist also left me 3 times during my haircut to help her other clients without saying a word or explaining what she was doing. She left a brush in my hair and just left... Again, as I mentioned before, the haircut was good, but if you want to feel welcomed and receive a professional service, free of drama, I would not recommend this salon. read more

Eh...beware. If you dont speak polish, youre better off going to a different salon. I live near Zig Zag and have always noticed the people walking out of there have GREAT hair. Everyone that walks out of there. Now mind you, they are jibbering in Polish and thats probably why I hesitated so long to try Zig Zag, but I figured with this many people coming out with awesome do's, I had it in the bag. Maybe. Zig Zag is similar to Gallery if youve every had yout hair cut there. The overall ambience of the salon is very European-model-esque types. Almost every stylist is 5'9, and looks like a model. Anyways, I made my appointment. Upon entering the salon, I was nervous. Would everyone be speaking polish? I was greeted by the receptionist and told to take a seat. They had some cool Euro beats pumpin, and after about 5 minutes my stylist took me. It was clear she didnt speak much English, but she seemed to get the jist of what I wanted. Black with carmel low lights. She seemed cheerful, and went off to mix my color. So I wait and wait and wait. Then, an assistant- or another stylist, Im not sure, takes me over and says she is going to apply the color. Meanwhile, the stylist I requested is off gabbin with the shampoo girl. Ok. A few minutes later, a different assistant/stylist comes and says she is going to do my color. Without much words, she starts putting it on. Then leaves. So I sit, and sit, and sit. Finally, I ask someone to flag down my stylist, and she comes over and communicates to another stylist to tell me I have 5 more minutes under the dryer. Now I really would have liked the sylist I booked my color and cut with to have applied the color....? I took it as kind of rude that she didnt. Was it that she didnt want to? Who knows. All I know is She didnt have another client, so she could have easily applied the color herself. Maybe she didnt want to mess up her nails. I made sure, once my color was being rinsed, that someone communicated to my stylist that I wanted her to do the cut, and not an assistant. We get to the chair, and she gives me an AWESOME cut. The color, she really should have done a toner. But I didnt want to waste any more time trying to communicate with her. As shes blowing me out, I ask her if she can tease the back of my head to give me a 'poof". Well, she must have not understood, because she walked away, grabbed a different hairspray, and doused the back of my head. I thought that was funny. I will be back to the stylist at Zig Zag for a cut again, for sure. But I am going back to my regular girl for color next time... :) read more

Wow, it is quite fascinating how all of the 1 star reviewers bashing Oliwia have a history of only a single review on yelp- i.e. that particular review. That's not phishy at all!! Lol. Wish yelp would investigate such ratings site wide, kinda makes me question everything about my life as a yelp reviewee. Either way, cannot attest to any color or cut because I never had those done there; but what I can say is that ZigZag is the ultimate place for me when it comes to special dos. Had several done for different occasions, anything from a conservative twist to a funky up-do braid, loooooooooooooooved them all. All the girls there seemed to be very fashionable, which is what was my determining factor in deciding to entrust them with my special occasion look in the first place. read more

Best Salon EVER! Eva has been doing my hair for almost a decade & she is the best! She always fits me in no matter what even if it means coming in early or staying late. I get compliments on my color all the time. Their nail tech Nina is AMAZING! You MUST try her, but I warn you- you will be addicted. Although Eva is the only one that colors & cuts my hair, I've had my hair styled & blown-out by almost all of their stylists! They are all very well trained & talented and I always walk-out of there feeling like a MILLION BUCKS! One of the best things about this place is that if they don't think a service is right for you, they will tell you rather than risk hurting your hair just to make some money. For example, one of my friends went there to get hair extensions. One of the stylists examined her hair & noticed that it was VERY DAMAGED from self-coloring & self-stick on extension and she refused to put the extensions in her hair because it was not the best thing for her. She literally passed up the opportunity to make $800-$1000 because she was more concerned with the client. And when I asked if I should get a Keratin Smoothing system done on my hair that costs $250, I was also advised against it because on my super fine hair it would not be a onetime thing, but rather a service that I would have to get done every 6-8 weeks because otherwise it would not look good once the hair was growing out. I cannot say enough about this salon! I LOVE THEM! read more

I went to this Salon completely on impulse because it is near where I live. They were available for a walk-in right away. The place was clean. The decor was hip and modern, and while I personally felt a little out of place in it, I do recognize that it was all very nice looking. I believe my stylists name was Elaina. She was very nice and very attentive to details. She spent quite a while making sure the layers on my hair were right and that I was happy with my hair. The cut came out great and based on my overall experience I would definitely recommend them. read more

The worst experience ever! I wanted highlights and Olivia did such a poor job, I ended up with pinkish highlights when I requested and insisted many times that I wanted something natural looking. Although the customer service wasn't 100% at all the ladies there were nice. My mother and I went for color and Olivia did both of our hair. She did an amazing job on my mom's hair and did a good job o mine although the hair dye died off within the first week and a half so that was very dissapointing because it looked ridiculously washed out. What is wrong with this place? The vibe at Zig Zag is very strange- basically they stare at you and gossip what are you wearing and how you behave. This is really very unprofessional. You can easily feel very uncomfortable -especially because most of girls don't wear their best clothes when going to do their hair (I am talking about dresses, nice shoes etc..). I saw stylist Monika twice. The first time she did ok job - my UpDo last for most of the party. When I tried to schedule my second visit with Monika to do color; Olivia told me that Monika is not available and she will take me. I told Olivia that I would like to see only Monika. Olivia wasn't happy about that but after a few minutes she scheduled my appointment with Monika. I told Monika about that incident. I just wanted to find out what is going on. Monika told me that Oliva very often steals clients from other stylist- in the same way she tried to "steal me" (or the service). It is very, very unprofessional and sad that the owner is doing such a terrible things to their employees. I agree with Alla K's review- "stylists made you feel like they are doing a favor to you". Please do not go to this salon. This was my first time at this hair salon. My stylist, Anna, took me in 15 mins past my scheduled appointment. I knew as soon as I saw Anna I was in trouble. She had the weirdest hair cut and bleached hair. When she washed my hair, I thought I would not have any hair left on my head. She was so rough. Hair should be treated with care like silk not like laundry. Then she proceeded to blow dry my hair which was also a terrible experience. So rough, pulling on my hair. I showed her the picture of the hair I wanted which was just basic beachy curls. I was so annoyed with her, then she went to the owner of the salon (Ewa) because she did not want to do my hair anymore. Ewa was nicer but she still did not do the curls that I wanted. I left looking like Shirley Temple and ot beachy curls.Overall horrible experience. I felt rushed and they did not care how it looked especially when I told them I was going to a black-tie event. read more
