I have several pendants, sconces, and chandeliers that require specialty light bulbs. My stockpile was depleted and went in search of bulbs that were easily sourced before California's ban on certain kinds of lighting went into effect in 2019. Struck out at Home Depot & Lamps Plus, but was blessed to find my bulbs at Light Bulb Warehouse. My advice: Save yourself some trouble and just go there first! read more

I spent 30 minutes or more with Abby, one of the owners, looking for clear replacement bulbs, not amber which I was able to find easily in my local hardware store. After 30 minutes of research she said that to get the clear bulbs I would have to special order them. No problem I said. But when the $145 of bulbs arrived at my home they were all amber. Abby had ordered the wrong bulbs. I've left multiple messages on the Light Bulb Warehouse voicemail (they don't usually pickup the phone) asking whether I return the bulbs to them or to the manufacturer. None of the messages have been returned so now I'm getting my credit card company involved to try to get a refund. LBW did a poor job in ordering the wrong bulbs but their absolutely miserable customer service afterwards speaks even louder about the type of people you're dealing with here. read more

I'm a submarine officer. In the low-level light conditions of a control room while a periscope depth, the correct lighting is very difficult to find. Typically you have to buy darkroom lights to get the perfect lighting condition you require. But Berry took the time to explain to me many different options showed me different fixtures and different lighting options and I was able to come up with a better lighting solution at a fraction of the price I thought I might pay. First of all the sign out front says. We have every lightbulb!! OK, well they gave me too high of expectations. I brought in my odd 4 pin bulb. Driving 10 miles just for a stupid lightbulb. Me- "you got these?" Him "Yep, but were out of stock. They will be back in a week" Me - "OK, well can i just order them and have them sent" Him - "We don't do that here, but you can go to the website" Me - "Are there any other light bulb stores in the area?" Him - "Nope, just lamp stores" Proceed to looking on yelp......... There is another store 0.25 miles away, and yes they have the bulb I need. Basically he didn't want to help me. These people are terrrrrrible! They are rude and overpriced. I took in a basic bulb and the woman made me wait until the doors officially opened. When I came in finally, she seemed bothered by my presence. I needed the light bulb never the less. She looked at the bulb and said she didn't have it. I then pointed at the bulb on the shelf and she seemed mad I knew more about her business then she did. She called me a name and asked me to leave. I would love to support a local small business like this one; just like many other of the low stars reviews, I found it impossible to buy something from this store if they don't already have it in stock, because ordering something is made very difficult. They have minimums they won't tell you about, make promises to order something which never happens, and don't apologize if the product never shows up. I have had three experiences in dealing with light bulb warehouse. Two for a lightbulb and one when I pulled in to their lot for a couple of minutes to take a call. Each experience was met with poor hospitality. These people might have just about every lightbulb known to man but do not expect them to treat you as anything other than an irritation. I am sure they are nice at times as referenced by other reviewers. However, based on my experiences that tells me they are inconsistent in how they treat people and need to work on their hospitality. read more

Ok. This is not about their lightbulb business but the window business they run out of there called Coverglass USA. Service has gone into the toilet since we purchased $8k in Milgard windows last year from them. This year cannot even get them to call back for glass railings. Called 3 times before they would even make an attempt to get their sales guy Matt to call me back. Matt set an appointment to measure and no showed. When I call them back, they said they'd look into it and after a few were sorry calls, still no measure, no Matt, no call back. last time we'll do business there, unfortunately as they do have every light bulb we've needed. read more

Unbelievably positive experience! Went to find out why the bulb I bought at Home Depot wouldn't fit in my new kitchen overhead fixture. Barry, (the owner?) was incredibly knowledgeable about bulbs and my problem. And he didn't rush me as he was offering an explanation of what to do. He suggested a bulb as a solution and then, without me saying anything further, explained that the "temperature" of my kitchen bulbs might not be quite right (he was correct). He offered me a second bulb (at a different temperature) so I could decide for myself. Here's the kicker: he gave me both bulbs (ON LOAN), told me to see which one worked better and then come back to the store and buy the one I felt did a better job for me. He didn't SELL me two bulbs - he GAVE me two bulbs to try out. And he trusted me to pay for the one I selected. (After such incredible service I bought both bulbs - even though I didn't need one of them.) They've earned my future business for life. I needed to update the lighting in my bathroom from the old school, 40 watt soft light bulbs that made the room too hot, to something cooler - literally. I went to Home Depot and Lamps Plus only to be told they didn't have anything that would work. Lamps Plus referred me to Light Bulb Warehouse where I found the perfect LED bulbs for my Hollywood style lighting. Abby helped me out and told me these little round lights would be perfect. They are 5 watts each and last up to 5 years. No, they are not cheap, but worth every penny just for the fact that I can stand to look at myself in the mirror, I'm not roasting to death in the morning and the lighting is perfect! The light fixture in my apartment had some crazy, unique pin base. It was close to what was out in stores. But it was just a bit off so that I could not use those bulbs. Very simple set up. Apparently people walk up to the counter all day with blown bulbs and get them replaced. They had exactly what I needed when several other places didn't carry the Xenon version I was looking for. This is the place to go for your unusual or hard to find lightbulb. Christmas lights, under counter lights, that lightbulb in your microwave or dryer, etc. There's a website for ordering too if you're far away from the location. This is the place you've seen off of the 5 freeway for years all lit up with a giant bulb so it's pretty easy to find. They were very nice over the phone and confirmed they had what I needed in stock before I made the trip. read more

Not much to choose from went to go buy a light fixture not really sure what this place has

I recently needed to replace the compact florescent bulb in my bathroom's combination fan/light. This particular bulb has a two pin connector, but Home Depot only had the four pin version at a cost of $3.49. So I took the old bulb to Light Bulb Warehouse and the lady at the desk brought me a new replacement bulb. It was a good thing that I examined the new bulb since it was the four pin version, and not what I requested. She apologized and returned with the correct version. As to the price - their web site claims that they sell bulbs for 1/2 the price of the home repair stores, but my new bulb came to $8.27 before tax (the 4 pin version was the same price). That's more than double the Home Depot price. Anyway, three stars since they had the right bulb in stock. read more
