I can only review on their massages and masseuses. I've gotten about 5 massages here now, the first two were Groupon deals and all the following ones were with my Health Flex Spending account. That's probably what I like most and keeps me coming back is that they accept most insurances and my Flex Spending. It's a lot harder than I thought to find places that accept Flex Spending for massage therapy. I've done both the 60 and 90 minutes deep tissue. I always catch myself falling asleep when I do 90 minutes. Every masseuse I've had here had really good pressure. I normally need to ask for more pressure at other places, but here I often have to ask for less. It can hurt!! But I always leave more relaxed. They also give you hot tea and an envelope for tip at the end. I really appreciate the envelope instead of just sneakily slipping the tip to the masseuse like I do at other Asian massage places. read more

It was such a stressful experience. The masseuse spent a lot of time on the area that I didn't care and less on the area that I cared even after I communicated that. She used the elbow the whole time on my back instead of hands and fingers and it didn't feel so good. But the worst part was the atmosphere. It was loud and noisy the whole time I was there. Felt like I was getting a massage at the mall. Men, women, children, chatted and laughed. They told me it's a clinic so the doctor had to examine people. I found this location through groupon as a first time customer and bought a deep tissue massage. My masseuse Angela was great, despite not knowing English to communicate needing to step out for towels, i assumed my massage was over so my head popped up looking around and debating if i need to get dressed lol I was rushed through the check in process even though i arrived early and nobody else was in the waiting room, then found it odd to pay before my massage and then again, they asked for a tip after it, instead of the usual bundle at the end of my massage. On the upside, they were very covid and monkey pox conscious, and had to bring my vaccine card for proof. Also had to put on a mask when it was time to flip over on the table and face up. I visited on the Groupon for a "deep tissue" massage. Overall the experience was relaxing, the massage room simple and clean, with pleasant soft music. I enjoyed the smell of the Chinese herbal oils. The massage lasted for almost the entire hour, which was nice. There's always some time allocated for changing and cleaning, but it wasn't very long. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The major con is that they didn't ask about what areas to work on or pressure preferences. The massage therapist asked once if I was experiencing pain when I flinched due to ticklishness but that was it. After all the reviews I read about pain and high pressure, I was hoping that the massage would have higher pressure and getting deeper into the muscle but overall it felt pretty light, with very occasionally getting deeper into some areas. I left feeling like I wanted to take a lacrosse ball to my muscles to get deeper into them. I have been going here since 3 months and my experience has been great. Right from the front desk, until the accupuncture Doctor and the Masseuse everyone will greet you with a smile and give their 100% for your issue. The place is Super clean. The beds have a use and throw cover sheet. The doctor is very knowledgeable and tries different options if results are not obtained. The masseurs will treat you with respect. My husband and I have been going to this place for years before the pandemic. It was great back then. However now it is nowhere close to how it used to be. I booked my massage appointment in advance and made sure I booked with my known therapist. But when I walked in the therapist I had booked with was changed on me without asking/notifying me. There was a lot of chatter from neighboring rooms and no music was playing. The massage didn't feel relaxing. The therapist working on me was very rough initially. I mentioned it to her to soon see that I was providing with just some rubbing with completely unprofessional strokes. She did not address my middle or lower back. It was a 50 minute massage instead of the paid 60 min. It is not expected for a licensed place like LHC to have undertrained staff that is unable to provide service. What's worse is that I developed some pains and aches a few hours later due to incorrect massage techniques. Absolute disappointment! I came out with more aches than i went in. I was not offered any correction or respite for my bad experience when I mentioned it to front desk while leaving. I got the groupon, 75 minute massage with aromatherapy and complimentary hot stones, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I have severe neck/shoulder pain, and I have been to many massage places, and this is without a doubt the best most pain relieving massage I've ever had. I will be going back for sure. I was able to book a same day appointment and I had Angela as my masseuse. The front desk lady was very friendly. It's the "take off everything but your underwear and lay under the blanket" type of massage (much better than a chair massage in a crowded room.) As soon as Angela walked into the room I let her know I mainly needed my neck and shoulders. She started off with a light touch, and a few minutes into it she asked me how the pressure was, I said it was good but could she go harder, and after that she didn't have to ask again, she instantly knew what I needed. I'm not exaggerating when I said this was the best massage ever. She knew EVERY spot that needed to be hit, and how hard I needed it. It was magical. It seemed like she spent forever (in the best type of forever way) on the spots I needed, and then made sure to hit the rest of my body so it wasn't ignored. And then that was just the back of my body, there was still the other side to go! 75 minutes felt like 2 hours in the best possible way. Since I was seriously overdue for some kneading and my usual massage center had been closed, I decided to give Light Health Center a try. I called them to see about setting up an appointment. The person who answered the phone was very pleasant. They were pretty booked up especially on Saturdays. She spent a while flipping through the pages and finally found an open slot that worked. On the day of the massage, I arrived early in case there were forms to be filled but I still had to wait a bit. It appeared they had some confusion as to who should have been assigned to me. I could hear them debate while slipping myself onto the massage table. The lighting in the room was fine and the linens seemed clean. I appreciated that my masseuse was able to apply a good amount of pressure to my stress points. Some problem areas I asked her to concentrate on and she did fine. However, she was somewhat talkative at times and all I wanted was to zone out. One important element that makes a massage pleasant for customers is the state of tranquillity. The dividing walls here were kind of flimsy and didn't extend to the ceiling. People's conversations from the outside or next door were discernible. It was difficult to relax. I have never gotten a massage before but desperately needed one because I had serious back pain from the way I sit at work and because I also type a lot throughout the day. I found Light Health Center thru Amazon discounts. Both are new to me. Took a quick peek on yelp and at 14 reviews and 4.5 stars I was sold. Yet I walked in there with my expectations low. I told myself that the very least I will get a head massage. It always mellows me. So today I went. It's in a plaza where Pho Viet is. It's a small plaza where all the tech boys work around the vicinity. I came in at 2. I'm glad I did. I was told that lunch time is the worst time for parking here. Ok. Light Health Center is staffed and operated by Asians. They also offer Chiropractor service, acupuncture and foot reflexology. Yeah it's an all in one place. One stop shop if you need to be cracked, smoothed out and massaged back to calmness. My 75 minutes was for a deep tissue massage. It is normally an $80 deal. This included a hot stone for my back. Which wasn't included in my deal. That was a nice surprise. And then- it was really a surprise! My masseuse did not explain what she was doing or will be doing to me. Not a big deal. But when the stone is hot I need a bit of a warning! My masseuse was sweet and possessed a strong hand. I was kneaded and rolled around like a dough. The room was clean. The table was as well. Music playing was soothing. I was lead to a room and instructed to undress by the lady who greeted me at the door. She was well versed with their Amazon Deal. I am impressed. I know my masseuse wasn't perfect but she was great with me. She was very good. I came home relaxed. I am so glad I came to this place... I purchased a 60 minute deep tissue massage with essential oils from groupon. When I first called to make an appointment I was advised that they were booked past my groupon's expiration date. However, they were kind enough to honor the groupon and not charge me the difference. So grateful! I was very happy... When my appointment finally came I was both nervous and excited as this was my first massage ever. I was greeted right away and felt very welcomed :) Helen was my masseuse and she did an amazing job! I asked for hard as I've worked at a chiropractor office before and the masseuse there worked on me a couple times so I was used to the deep tissue. This was my first actual full blown massage and I cannot be happier. I didnt need to tell Helen much of where to focus as she felt exactly where I needed the most work. I highly recommend. Per suggestion from someone that I know, I met with Sunny from Light Health Center today. Sunny speaks little English, but knows the technique of Tuina very well. I went in with a sore shoulder that I have had for months. I came out with my shoulder feeling better than it had for months. I'll be able to sleep easily tonight. Sunny adjusts the use of his technique with the limits you have for pain. In other words, he does not want for your experience to be painful, yet still have his technique provide assisted healing. Sunny knew just where to apply his technique. Before I would communicate that he is on the right spot. If you are looking for assisted healing that is less brute force than visiting a Chiropractor, and more personal with a human touch. I would suggest this center. The Health Center itself is new and very clean. Soft ambient music is played in the back ground. During treatment you hardly notice the music. The candies at the door are the best. I think next time I am there, I will grab more than one. :) I visited their website after returning home. I wanted to learn more about Tuina. Though I will have to add that their website does them little justice in comparison to the experience I had at the center. I highly suggest that you call them for their current rates and appointment. If you happen to meet with Sunny, and you don't know Chinese; speak slowly and be patient. He was still able to help me. At the very least point to where you are feeling pain. Thank You for reading. My husband I found this place quite by accident, as it is located in a large 'food/business park area' off of Trimble and N 1st Street where we had lunch and later, dinner. I phoned wanting a massage, as I had a large knot in my back. And stress due to the Pandemic in general. I made an appt and there is a tiny language barrier. This place is all Chinese (with Chinese signs, diagrams, etc), but the ladies in front speak great English. At first I inquired about Tui Nai (chinese style massage) and they directed me to the 1 hour 'regular' massage (with oil). They have various styles/kinds of massages and I went with the cheapest, 1 hour they had. The price was fantastic so I signed up, but with very low expectation. They did tell me I needed to wear a mask the entire time of the massage, which was fine. When I arrived, there are signs in the parking lot telling you to hide your valuables, take your keys, etc. I was a little scared my car would get broken into...but during the Pandemic, not too many people around. Upon entering, they check you in if you have an appt, you can pay before (or after) and they had some flyers, business cards, etc. And they asked me 'where' I had issues so it could be passed on to the masseuse. The place is very clean...with a restroom at the end of the hall (spotless). And I was ushered into a small massage room. The table was very comfortable with cotton sheets and knee bolster. The attendant came in and the massage began. Nice relaxing music was piped in from above, and the light was low. I was given a soft cotton towel for my face bolster and my entire body was massaged, including great work on my upper shoulder/neck area where this knot was. I had come in with low expectations with some of these 'asian health centers' and was simply THRILLED that the massage was top-notch. Not just 'rubbing' but really getting into specific muscle areas with good even/hard pressure with forearm and elbow. It was obvious this lady KNEW muscles and body anatomy. My lady did speak some english and asked a few times about pressure, and gave me her name. At the end, you dress and go back up front where they give you a tip envelope for the person who massaged you. I am going to recommend this place as it is far less expensive than a 'Burke Williams' Santana Row massage. If you are looking for 'fancy-shmancy'--this won't be your cup of tea. This place is very simple, but effective and you won't get cucumber water, a fluffy robe, shower or lounge area. Highly recommended! read more

Yes I am one of those who came with the groupon! I was a bit anxious about it since I am a bit insecure about my body weight right now and when I walked it was all asian staff so I was even more fearful that as a dark latina they would judge my weight and skin color or not take me seriously because of how young I look. I was wrong! They were so friendly and respectful, very accommodating (you can ask for male or female masseur) and sweet. They do have extra hairclips laying around if you forget yours, music is calming and the place is clean. I did the deep tissue massage with essential oils, I chose which oil I wanted when I checked in from a box they had and waited in their waiting area until a masseur came and directed me to my room, there they gave me about 10 minutes to undress to my undies and lay on my stomach on the table with the sheet covering me. Then they knocked and asked to come in and started massaging me with the sheet and then later removed the sheet to apply the oils and massage my whole body (neck, shoulders, back, thighs, legs) then the other half of the massage I turned around (with the sheet covering me) and they massaged my head. After they were done they tap to see if your awake and tell you that you may change , they come back and escort you out and hand you water. You go to the front where you tip. They prefer you tip with cash and they hand you an envelope to do so, however you may also use credit card. It was a bit awkward because the masseur stays in the waiting room in case you have any suggestions.Overall it was good, I left feeling refreshed and a bit sore but they got the problem areas so I was happy. read more

I came here with a groupon for a massage and was blown away by the service! Compared to other massages I have had, this place does very little assessment of what the customer needs. For example, there is no survey asking what areas need focus/are off limits, and the masseuse, Tina, spent less than 10 seconds talking to me about it. Despite this, the massage was perfect from amount of pressure to areas of focus. My only complaint was that although I purchased a 60 minute Groupon, the service was only 50 minutes. My masseuse used way more than required force and speed when moving around my leg/hands etc. She was ignorant in terms of surroundings. While moving around she kept hitting my hands or table side. While doing my back she even ended up pulling my hair badly. She kept doing same pattern over and over which was so painful to begin with. Found this place via Groupon. Got a great deal. After I purchased the groupon, and made the massage appointment, I read some of the reviews and I won't lie, I was worried about people saying the massage was painful and rough. I suffer from fibromyalgia and certain areas on my body are already super sensitive as it is. I was so worried there would be difficulties communicating to the therapist about this. I had my appointment this morning and it was a positive experience. My therapist (she called herself Sarah) was communicative and friendly. She was very strong, but when I told her it was painful, she quickly modified the pressure to make everything comfortable. I did laugh as I read in another review about the pulling down the underwear thing, and this did happen, but personally, that didn't bother me as she was able to work the gluteus muscles better. Completely professional. I would recommend those who are more modest than I am, to just let the therapist know you are more comfortable with your underwear up. She seemed to be caring and attentive to make the patients experience as good as possible. She even let me know when she was going to apply the hot stones and hot towels (both a pleasant surprise) Afterwards, Sarah met me at the front desk area with a little tea and asked how I felt. I went in today to redeem a Groupon that I recently purchased : $49 for a 90-minute Bodyworks deep-tissue massage with heat and essential-oil treatments ($125 value) I should lead off by saying that I am a Board Certified Massage Therapist ~ so I am trained and experienced in bodywork. If you are looking for a Spa ~ this is not the place for you. This is by all means a massage center. And having completed the process I have some concern for the certification & licensing of its Therapists. I was pleasantly greeted when I arrived & was pleased that they were able to see me early ~ however I came in early with the assumption I would need to fill out a first time intake form ~ but none was offered. This is definitely a concern for patient wellness & best practices. But I figured I would just discuss with my therapist my concerns, needs & any special circumstances. The rooms are lined up similar to a tanning salon. The walls are thin and there is a 1 to 1 1/2 foot gap between the central wall & the ceiling. So you can hear everything from conversations in other rooms, to people using the restroom, to people microwaving their lunch. You can also hear the happenings on the other side of the shared wall with the restaurant that is located next door. The only sound barrier was a repeating instrumental of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". How many times can you hear that song during a 90 minute massage session? Too many. When my therapist arrived (I was told at check out that her name was Linda) I started to introduce myself & my massage needs & she said "Sorry, no speak English". Not that I need an English speaking therapist, but with no intake form, how am I expected to convey my pressure preference, if I have any injuries, if I'm pregnant & need certain pressure points avoided or if I have any areas that require special attention? Apparently I'm not. With a Deep Tissue Massage it is important to properly warm the muscle bodies prior to deep pressure or you will do more damage in tearing the fibers than any relief you are trying to offer. It is also VERY important to only apply deep pressure on the muscle belly (the thickest part of the muscle) ~ NOT the connecting tendons (its easy to damage them) and definitely not on the bony landmarks / areas (think base of skull, neck, scapula, spine). Unfortunately, all of these negative applications occurred. My therapist was not knowledgable enough to note that my pulling away from her touch meant that she was being too rough in those areas. There is an industry standard called draping ~ this is when the therapist maneuvers the sheet above you in a way that the client is always tucked in & never feels exposed. I would be more than happy to come in & show you how to do this ~ as this was a VERY uncomfortable part of the entire process. At one point my therapist pulled my underwear half way down my behind & used them to tuck the sheet into! I'm glad I actually kept them on! I was MORE than a little shocked at this move. Even more so when she then climbed ON the table and straddled me to perform bodywork. In a way I was thankful that the 90 minute massage was actually 70 minutes when I factor in the time that my therapist spent out of the room ~ there was a bathroom break (remember, you can hear everything happening in the place), going to get the hot stones, going to get towels, going to get the hot wraps which were left on me for 15 minutes post-massage. All of these items could be kept in the room as there was more than enough space available. *note: feet are apparently not a part of the body as they managed to be avoided completely. Upon departure I was greeted in the lobby and offered a tiny dixi cup of water (tip: its important to drink lots of water after a massage, especially a deep tissue as they release toxins into the system that need to be flushed out to avoid soreness. Common practice is to give your guest a bottle of water as they should be taking in 12-16oz within 30 minutes of massage completion). I was asked on the spot, with my therapist standing directly behind me, how my service was. This made for a very awkward moment because I really was not happy. I chose to say "it was fine thank you" to avoid conflict & was told by the front desk attendant "yes, they work very hard. maybe you would like to give her a tip then". EVEN MORE AWKWARD For a great experience I am a very generous tipper (for a great massage 50% of the total value is not uncommon for me) ~ not only was I not happy with my treatment (even at the $49 Groupon price) but to put someone on the spot like that is unacceptable. :: shakes my head :: read more

They do some hot stone stuff in the last 15 minutes. I didnt want it and so, I only made an appointment for 60mins. When I went there, they told me they can't honor my groupon as Im an old customer. They told me the groupon is only for new customers. No where in their fine print did they say that. Their fine print only says "Limit 1 per person, may buy 1 additional as gift. Limit 1 per visit" and I bought only one groupon. After a little bit of a debate, they agreed to give me a massage, but, told me I would have to comeback some other time. They would rather waste an appointment than honor a customer at their doorstep because the customer had a groupon and was not paying full price. I did not buy groupon to get treated like a second grade customer. They only want to impress new customers, but not retain existing ones!!! I had an amazon local deal for a 75 minute deep tissue massage. But I let it lapse and it actually expired. So I was going to just use my credit. I called to make an appointment and the earliest available appointment was the next week. So book early, people. I also got a call the day before to confirm my appointment. When I arrived, I presented my deal to use as credit. And then I paid an extra $10 for my massage. Not bad but I think my Amazon deal was not as good of a deal as it makes it seem. Anyways I was led into a private room with no explanation. Luckily I've had massages before and there's a handy dandy flyer posted on the wall with instructions. The massage was great - very deep tissue. It started medium and I learned my back is very hard so it went to a very hard/deep massage. They also worked on my shoulders, arms, legs, a little on my head, neck and face. There were a few minutes with some hot stones. And the last 10-15 or so, I flipped over on my back to work on my front parts of my legs and arms. And my massage was actually 60 minutes. The last 15 minutes, they give you a heated like pad or pillow for your head and neck. And you just relax/sleep for 15 minutes. After my 15 minutes of relaxing was over, someone came in to tell me the massage was over. I got dressed, went outside, had a small cup of tea and left a tip. My masseuse, who I later learned was named Julianne, was very nice. She was always asking if I was ok and also her English was pretty good, well better than most other masseuses I've dealt with. I was pretty sore after for a few days. But I definitely needed it and overall I felt better. But I do echo the other reviewers - the walls are very thin so you hear everyone's conversations. But it's not really the worker's faults - they actually whisper. It's the other customers that speak loudly. For 2/3 of my massage, it was pretty quiet and the other third, there were people all around me talking. So it was ok. read more

I have had many massages in my life, and although my masseuse put a lot of effort and strength into my massage, I am unhappy with my experience and how I felt afterward. I like deep pressure but this woman went so incredibly deep, in such an unskilled way that it reminded me of getting massages from unskilled family members. I asked her to go lighter with the pressure but she didn't understand me, because I asked twice and she kept on with the same harsh, painful pressure. I kept hoping the massage was over. The front desk customer service is excellent and the overall decor is clean and nice. Note that the massage rooms are not 100% private; they are separate rooms with one shared common ceiling. I am sure other masseuses may have a different style, or maybe I just got a new person, I don't know, but I will not be going back to find out. read more
