A solid cilantro chicken salad in a country club style setting (part of a pool and tennis club) with a beautiful water view and reasonable prices. Sign me up since this salad was large, fresh, chock full of avocado and freshly grilled chicken with a delightful dressing. You can eat-in with waitress service or take it to go via the pool (if you're a member, cha'ching!) I wasn't expecting the extensive menu. From sandwiches galore to pickled herring to meatballs to omelettes and so on, they literally have something for everyone including kids ( can we say chicken fingers and grilled cheese). I'm excited to report that there's a new kid on the block. But although they're new to the location, these guys are seasoned veterans. The folks behind the popular Lighthouse Cafe (in both Sausalito and Corte Madera) have taken over the reins from Nourish Grill at The Club at Harbor Point. The new incarnation is now the Lighthouse Bar & Grill. In less than a week, they've already completely revamped the menu. Diners can now feast on a tasty variety of breakfast & brunch offerings. Menu highlights include: the Caesar Salad, the Club Sandwich, the Burger, The Eggs Benedict, the Crab Cakes, and good ol' Fish & Chips. The owners are of Danish descent, and their native influence can be found in several dishes. Nowhere is this more evident than with their signature Danish Meatballs (aka Frikadeller). For those unfamiliar with the dish, these aren't your Italian grandma's meatballs (so don't expect melted cheese and a spicy tomato sauce). In fact, these succulent beef patties are so good, they don't need a sauce. Instead, this meaty trio comes with a creamy potato salad, cucumbers, beets, and a sweet remoulade. I could eat these suckers every day! The waterfront bar at Harbor Point still remains one of the best kept secrets in the North Bay. I'm glad they haven't made any changes in that department. Drinks are still considerably cheaper than most other places with comparable views. Plus, they have some pretty decent food/drink specials for happy hour (Mon-Fri). I'm looking forward to giving their brunch menu a try in the next few weeks. All in all, the Lighthouse Bar & Grill is off to a promising start. Better than ever during Covid. The patio has great views and the brunch is the best bargain in Marin. $10 bottomless Mimosas and eggs benedict that are better than my beloved Sams or anywhere else. (Try the Norwegian). The ultimate breakfast is awesome too and fills that pancake craving. Crisp hash browns and sweet bacon to top it off. For lunch or dinner it isn't "gourmet" but is perfect for what it is - tuna poke, garlic hummus, chicken quesadilla, fish and chips - all over deliver. Finish with a blondie brownie or gluten free choc mousse. The staff works so hard - seems like everyone comes at once - but they are always friendly. Oh and its extremely reasonable. read more

Decent ambiance, patio deck over looking the bay. A location somewhat hard to find, not to mention there are other "Lighthouse" eateries in the immediate area. Minimum parking as it sits in a private residential complex. Fair service, had to repeatedly request for our meals to be completed. Requests for salt. pepper, other condiments. Food would not be the "bring you back" experience ... dry, bland, not as ordered, overall a disappointing venture. Cute place tho ... and I suspect good folks. read more

Okay I was so suprised this place was here. Lived in SF all my life spent plenty of time in Marin and had never been down this road before. Spacious with a view that will knock your socks off. Better than fighting the birds at Sam's in Tiburon. Food was okay, club house food, not spectacular but for $10 a plate I was suprised by the value. If you can get past the very Marin customers , I would venture here to give it a try. I will definitely come back on a Sunday for their endless mimosas for $10. Tonite, if there was a zero review, I'd give it. We are regulars having come almost weekly. We've come to enjoy the new bartender, Stephanie's skill in creating tasty cocktails. We came for the spaghetti special tonite and of course ordered skillfully made cocktails. One of the cocktails arrived with 3 ants floating in the icey drink and one sitting on the lemon slice. It was unappetizing, so we sent it back. Another was made to replace it, great, but it had ants in it too. The manager was summoned to our table and we mentioned it was 2nd drink with ants - he joked asking did we order it with ants? Yes funny at first, but seriously, we expected to be taken care of. The 3rd replacement drink also had an ant after the server told us that the bartendar had to clean things out, boiling stuff, etc. Then a 4th replacement drink came out - unbelievably an ant was in it! The servor was reluctant to comp us for our trouble. The manager declined to comp us or pay for a different drink. The bill - charged us for both the drink we never consumed that had all the ants in it, and for the new drink that you would think they would've comped us for - for all the trouble! Pretty bad customer service! Not to mention, if the health department were told about the ants that are being served along with their drinks and whatever else!? Lighthouse Bar & Grill - you just lost this customer! All you had to do was be willing to comp $13 or whatever it cost for the cocktail that, was your fault for not keeping your bar/restaurant clean of these pests. Instead, you, the manager had the attitude that we were being a pain for pointing out your lack of poor sanitary management of the establishment. Your server also had a pretty bad attitude that we took issue to the fact that we were given not one, but 4, drinks containing pests/ants - and not a single thought to apologize and make good by the customer??? Who is being unreasonable here? Should we ask the health department this question? No thanks! It's no loss to us to never come back here again. read more

Right as I introduced myself, she interrupted me saying she is very busy . She even did not ask me for time, for my phone, for an occasion. She just dropped the phone . This is frequented mostly by locals, which makes it nice since you get to know the regulars. Every other Friday they have karaoke, which is a really good time. I want to say this place is great but I can't. I love the seating outside.had a reservation today. Front woman didn't have a table for us. No problem we could wait. Sat down and ordered a 56.00 bottle of Mumm Champagne. Waitress said she would be back with ice bucket. Nope.I asked front woman for one for our champagne. She brought one and put it on our table and walked away. We put the bottle in the bucket. I ordered salmon eggs Benedict. Didn't want hash browns was offered little salad instead. Good. Asked for extra sauce. Was brought sauce in a very small ramekin. Maybe a full tablespoon. Bill came,they charged me2.00 for the sauce and 1.75 for tiny ramekin of fruit that I didn't ask for. Listen 3.75 isn't going to make or break me. I love the location but the service is awful and that includes the son of the owner who really didn't care about my complaints. I'll start with the good and work my way down... The first few times I went here it was really good. First Thursdays of each month they have an outstanding solo guitarist that just BURNS. I would highly recommend checking him out. I ordered an Asian chicken dish that was served in a giant wok that was great. Happy hour they have decent wings, pizza is par....if you're on an airplane. Their beer selection leaves little to be desired. Perhaps I'm asking too much being a beer snob and this place ultimately being a tennis clubhouse, but Jesus, change shit up from time to time. I get the impression they don't serve much beer because the last one I had tasted like the keg has been there a while. The biggest bummer however was learning that the Asian wok dish is no longer on the menu, so I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The chicken had no flavor, nor did the veggies or shitty mayonnaise, so it was just a log of disappointment. Oh and the sweet potato fries were microwaved, so that was awesome. read more

What a delight to find a fine place to eat in a club-like environment. The food has an air of sophistication with a warmly casual setting to go with it. They have some lively music, but could use a solo guitarist or pianist for dinnertime, just to dial it up a notch. As for the menu items they were savory and perfect potions for sharing. We enjoyed the bruschetta, and then had two of the roasted chicken halves, which made a great a pass-around-the table for the five of us. The cocktails are skillfully made and there was no skimping on the good parts (wink)! I loved the Ceasar Salad. We are looking forward to warm weather evenings, sitting outside by the bay, tearing through the Happy Hour menu. But now's a good time to get a jump on what I expect to be a very busy summertime here. BTW, this is a great place to keep in mind when WAZE tells you that Northbound 101 is too jammed up to stress over. I had no idea this restaurant or the Club was there. We sat outside and had cocktails and dinner. It is right on the water and it kind of felt like we were on vacation, with a pool right there, people enjoying the sun and tennis courts nearby. Unfortunately, that was the best thing of the night. Maybe they were understaffed? It took forever to get menus and then to order. Our waiter ended up bussing other tables. My dirty martini was ok but had hardly any "dirty" to it. The waiter was very nice when I asked for some olive brine but promptly forgot I had asked. The sidecar was very sweet. At most it should be sweet and sour or just a sugar rim. No sugar rim. Just lots of sugar in the drink. The steak ordered at our table and another came more cooked than requested. The next table sent theirs back but it was returned because they ran out of steak. My ahi tower special was disappointing with the ahi looking like it had been mixed well in mayonnaise and the avocado slices swimming in soy sauce. There were no vegan entrees- the veggie burger was requested to be vegan. It came without the cheese (good) but with mayonnaise on the bun (bad). read more

Great location PLUSSES: the waitress was totally overworked, she and a busboy handled ALL GUESTS. I had to give them both credit, they were so polite and tried so hard to get to everyone in a timely manner. Beef bourguignon was the best I had ever tasted. MINUSES: We had to ask 4 times for bread and butter. We were almost finished with our dinner by the time it finally arrived. PLEASE PLEASE don't call you Danish meatball that or frikadeller, they are FAR from even close to the taste of a Scandinavian frikadeller meat ball. MUCH TOO SPICY!!! More like Italian or Mexican. WHERE is the lingonberries that are normally served with frikadeller and the delicious creamy gravy???? Food was NOT as hot as expected!! I'll be back but hope the frikadeller is made correctly and that lingonberries are also served. Please treat your staff fairly, don't understaff, it not only affects the waitstaff but your guests as well and unfortunately the the food is luke warm too. read more

I live very close to this place and been here many times. Before the current chef and managers and after they took over. Everything I have had in the way of food is great. Location is great. View is great. Bar is great. TV's all around for watching sports etc. Yet, I have found unfortunately that 9 out of 10 visits the service has been really bad. I am not a super fussy guy but it has been very frustrating, given how close I am to the place. With better service I would be there more often. On the other hand I have never had a problem with Bar service. Last week's experience: It took 15 minutes to get a waiters attention. It was 15 minutes more before they came around and took the order. Another 15 to get served and my friends order was incorrect. Enough said. I do sincerely hope that this is just a matter of ironing out the kinks under new management. I will try again. read more

Signed up for the Club at Harbor Point a couple of days ago. Was served by this young woman at Lighthouse; then George earlier this afternoon. Service was considerably different. The young girl was not flexible for specifications for drinks I asked by pool while George was professional and hands down made better drinks and customize less sweet. as I asked, no emotions, just professional. Hmmm.... I shall try to wait for George next time and it appears others that live in the neighborhood have a great rapport with him. read more

As far as a great bar for the residents and members of the swim and tennis resort- great. Would I recommend this as a restaurant or club for dancing or bar, no. We attended an event here to see the venue and I'd have to say that it would have been a bit awkward if we'd gone here for dinner. It looks like what it is. A place to grab a bite with the kids or whomever after a swim or tennis match. The champagne and appetizers that were served were good. We wanted to use the Yelp check in offer of free fries with a drink and it wasn't being accepted. I know that a couple of people considered that as a bit cheap considering that they were there to write a review and had driven over an hour to do that. I kind of agree. That's not a great way to get people to recommend going off the beaten track to support your business. The customer service level at The Lighthouse Bar & Grill is impeccable! Outstanding wait staff! The food was very good. The clam chowder had huge chunks of delicious bacon, the lobster crab cake was fried to perfection crunchy on the outside soft and delicious in the inside. My mom has the Filet Mignon which was a little over cooked to her liking so she started at the middle of the meat. Overall she said the meat was very flavorful. I enjoyed the Salmon cooked perfectly with an amazing lemon sauce and capers. So good ! Dessert was just as amazing! The bill was very reasonable and I would recommend this place if you just want to get away from the norm ... take a drive through an amazing neighborhood and enjoy good food and great service. Who knew this place was here? I sure didn't, but my coworker found this place so we could all spend some time together after work and to avoid the horrendous Friday traffic. Happy hour was pretty decent and they offer a taco tuesday $2 special which are all pluses in my book. It's a bit vintage and very Marinlike if you know what I mean. Beautiful views and comfy seating. The night we came was also featuring karaoke. Some of the people there were quite talented. I guess the only flaw if anything was that it just felt old and maybe it was because we were the youngest people there, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The good: the food was well prepared and well done. The bad: the slowest service ever! Over 30 minutes before anyone came by the table. Over an HOUR to get one appetizer. By the time dinner was served we had been sitting there for 2 hours. On a Tuesday when only 2 other tables were there? Why? The stupid: almost all dishes were meat and cheese or cream-based. I had to heavily modify to find something remotely vegetarian. Forget vegan. Just not what I would expect in Marin in a restaurant that sits aside a health club. Owners: please get a clue. Our server Stephanie was helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed the clam chowder. My mother raved about the Seafood Pasta and the salmon with mushroom risotto was delicious. Made a reservation for lunch. We arrived 10 minutes early. Waited at the front desk for 10 minutes until someone came to the desk. We stated we had a reservation and he stated that, "you need to bear with me, we are running behind." When asked how long the wait would be we were told 20-30 minutes. Who would have guessed that 4 minutes off Tiburon Blvd., a stone's throw away from Strawberry Village, this beautiful clubhouse, replete with tennis courts and swimming pools, would harbor a cozy little cafe on the marina waters? Our first time there and we were in time for happy hour - the bar/restaurant is modern and the service sensational. The food was unexpectedly good. The Neiman ranch burger was one of the best I've had in Marin, even outstripping The Counter. Fresh ingredients, gorgeous lettuce and tomatoes - the burger cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Yum! My friend had the Tuna Ahi salad - huge plate; everything fresh - hers was gone in a hurry! Drinks were fine, the house wine good; and to top it off - LIVE MUSIC! We had a wonderful guitar player (electric) who even managed to single handedly play Pink Floyd's "Money" with feeling and precision. Softer music was also played; such sweet notes; almost a serenade. The first Thursday of every month is worth reserving to hear this talented young man. The cafe features other live music and even karaoke, for the singer in your soul. Not sure of the music schedule; you'll have to check in with the cafe.
