Tavern Cheeseburger - meat, cheese and bacon only
    Tina W.

Update - here for World Cup, the bar pretzel remains a solid choice, nice and hot and the beer cheese and mustard are tasty too. No more French Dip on the menu, but the pub burger (meat, cheese and bacon) my spouse found very good and the French fries even better. The fish and chips remains my favorite in the area. Service is attentive and staff is working very hard to keep drinks coming and the food out on time. The vibe here is exciting, fun and social, great to see the numbers and people having fun!

Great place! Highly recommend! We've been here once before and a few years ago and this place does not disappoint. The old fashion is 10/10. The fries, tacos, fish and chips are delicious!! The service is great and the atmosphere is 100!!

We stopped by this place on our way back from Muir Woods. It's next to a Holiday Inn. The environment was very inviting. They have a big bar area with lots of TVs so people can watch sports. They also have a separate lounge section and a recreational section with billiard and other games. We ordered the potato pancakes to share. It was tasty with the chive dip but I felt it wasn't worth $13. For entree I had the porchetta cubana. The roll was nicely toasted, the fries were amazing! But the porchetta itself was a miss. I thought the pork gaminess was a bit strong. Maybe a bit more time spent marinating would help. The habanero hot sauce that it came with also didn't do much for me as it felt very mild and watered down. Overall I thought this place was solid. Prices were a bit high for what you get. Also avoid the porchetta.

Tam Tavern feels very similar to the old Floodwater--same general vibe, just with a slightly more casual staff and a new menu. The location is great, but the parking situation really should be better. Just know: it's not cozy or intimate. It still has that "sports bar from the past" energy, with pool, air hockey, tons of TVs, and a patio with a beer-garden feel. It also still has that hotel-restaurant atmosphere, but not quite in the appealing way you'd hope. The food was solid overall. The fried chicken was much spicier and saltier than expected, the Niçoise salad was pretty good, and the French dip was hearty. They do have a strong beer selection. Dessert, however, was disappointing--only three frozen options, none of which were worth it. The banana split was overly sweet with artificial-tasting red sauce, the "tiramisu" felt like a frozen cup, and the ice cream was just... ice cream. There's potential here, but a few upgrades--parking, atmosphere, and the dessert menu--would go a long way.

My partner has been wanted to try this place for a while and we both absolutely love East Brothers beer. We typically go to Richmond. We decided a Warriors and Lakers game would be the best time to try it out. It was busy and the Saturday before SuperBowl, so we knew it would be busy. We immediately walked up and sat at the bar with open seating. However, quickly realized we would rather enjoy a table. I walked back to the host and asked to be put on a list for a table (there were 3-4 open). I knew they accepted reservations and we may not be sat immediately. However, we were completely forgot about. No text, no call. By half time, the place was pretty open and we were disappointed we hadn't been contacted. I didn't feel it was my job to double check if we had been forgotten. By the time we left, we still didn't receive and recognition from the hostess (2 people working the stand). I know we were forgotten because I watched her write down my name and phone number on a paper, and as a customer, it sucked. We wanted a table to order dinner and have more room, but we just ate at the bar. I will be honest, I wanted to leave at half after this, but my partner was hungry, and that is the only reason we stayed. The beer is always good. The food is okay (too pricey) in our opinion. The French dip lacked flavor, but the fries were amazing. My partner said the burger was ok (also lacked seasoning). We will probably be back for happy hour, and for the atmosphere, but other than that we may have gone in with higher expectations.

Steady service, definitely there for efficiency vs super hospitable. Not in a bad way at all. The food was good - I loved the French dip, but my date thought the smash burger was lacking in flavor. The oatmeal stout might be one of the best stouts I've ever had. I would make the drive (over an hour) just to enjoy it again.

I was craving a beet salad on the way home from Stinson and Floodwater came up with strong reviews. We stopped by with our pup and sat on the outside patio with an umbrella. Started off with the blonde ale and the what a melon cocktail. Our server was a bit rude to start as my husband asked his opinion between two beers and the guy just said "they're two completely different things".... It made it so awkward! We ordered the sliders, garlic fries, and a pizza in addition to the salad. The sliders were the best thing we ordered. The pizza was fine, the beet salad was fine, the fries were nice and crunchy and the ketchup was good- but the sliders were the most tasty. Overall I think the servers weird attitude at the start kind of set things off downhill pretty early on. I enjoyed the dining atmosphere otherwise and the other staff members were friendly.

What a welcome addition to Mill Valley! Sports bar with plenty of big screen tvs- check! Lively beer garden with occasional live music - check! Delicious beer + cocktails - check check! Game room with pool table, shuffleboard, fussball - check check check! And most importantly, delicious food and a fun vibe. Highly recommend: -- The Schnitzel (who else in Marin does authentic German schnitzel, red cabbage and spaetzle?). -- The Double Smashburger -- the Pizzas (if you're a carnivore, definitely order the Molinari Meats!). -- the Beer Battered Fish & Chips -- Bavarian Pretzel with stout beer cheese and mustard -- Saigon wings While all of the above may sound like something you wouldn't want to share with your cardiologist, they have lighter options as well. Their salads are surprisingly fresh, delicious and satisfying (I'm partial to the grilled chimichurri steak). And I'm a fan of their hummus plate with Z'aatar flatbread, and their potato pancakes. While I miss Floodwater's ruben sandwich, Tam Tavern's French Dip is a worthy substitute. The staff is friendly and efficient; the pricing is reasonable; and it's both family-friendly + dog-friendly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but aside from that... this place is a winner! Looking forward to exploring more of their menu + Game Day fun.

Great service, the venue looks great. And the food was delicious. We had the garlic fries and pineapple pizza. The bartender was very good and made a perfect margarita. 5/5

Our insights: -Good servings and easy access if you are staying in HIEx Mill Valley. We went an all day excursion to explore the city and once we got back to the hotel, we were starving. Since we were tired, this restaurant is definitely on the right spot.

As a combined beer garden and pizza place, it features a huge outdoor area with plenty of spaced-out seating and a dedicated play area for kids, including foosball. The food is a major draw, with pies made by SF's own Pizza Hacker. It is easily some of the best pizza in the Bay Area; we tried several varieties, including the Margherita, Pepperoni, and the Ohio. They even offer a good quality gluten-free option, which was great for my buddy. Their drink menu is equally diverse, featuring an excellent selection of beer, wine, and mocktails, ensuring there is something for everyone. While the setting is excellent, the service can be a bit spotty. The restaurant gets extremely busy, and at times it feels like the staff is simply stretched thin. We found the table servers to be much better than the cashiers at the windows, who could be a bit unfriendly. One cashier even insisted he had confirmed our order correctly when I had to correct what was actually brought to us--definitely a case of poor active listening skills. They would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the cashiers taking orders. Overall, if you go in knowing it leans heavily toward a family-oriented crowd and can get very crowded, it's a wonderful place to enjoy great pizza and the outdoors. Just be patient with the parking, as it can be a bit tricky to find a spot.

She was super accommodating and attentive without being overbearing. Once we told her what we liked, she immediately knew what to recommend and guided us through the menu perfectly. You can tell she knows her stuff. We came specifically for happy hour (we're definitely HH aficionados) and made it our mission to try everything on the menu. While the chips & dip were good, they're something you can find elsewhere, so not necessarily a standout. Everything else, though? OUTSTANDING! The hummus, whipped feta, and muhamarra were next-level--easily some of the best we've had. The CN burger sliders were also a hit--we had one each and they were so yummy that next time my husband is already planning on getting two. The drinks were on point. The espresso martinis absolutely fueled our afternoon in the best way, and we also tried the creamsicle cocktail and the shrimp Za'atar from the regular menu--both were super delicious in their own way. The ambiance was great, and the bartender was clearly on top of things, which always adds to the overall vibe. One thing worth noting: happy hour is now only offered Monday-Thursday, but Sydney was kind enough to honor it for us on Saturday since the website hadn't been updated yet. That level of service really sealed the deal for us. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish--great food, great drinks, and even better service. Easy five stars.

Honestly, that almost sent me right back out the door. I wanted an actual menu, not a tiny phone screen with lots of scrolling and submenus, especially since I had questions about the food. The atmosphere felt a bit impersonal at first, mostly because of the mall setting and the QR-code ordering system, but the friendly staff helped make it feel much more comfortable once we got settled. The two people working the front were both very pleasant, answered my questions, and made the whole experience feel much more welcoming. They had a decent IPA selection and a variety of bar foods (pizza, wings, appetizers). We ordered the arancini, fried cauliflower, and a pizza. First, I will say that parking here is a little bit crazy. I had to loop around a few times and…read morefinally found a place nearby. This is a hip area with surfing lessons, coffee shops and of course Hook Fish. I came here with a group, after a hike at the Tennessee Valley Trail (a beautiful hike to a beach, probably 1-2 miles away). At Hook Fish, you find a table, get in line and order your food with your table number. They bring it over (quickly!) and you get to people watch for your troubles. The dishes were a heavy mouthful, but delectable as expected. It feels East Coast West Coast to me in nature, but all pure goodness. The fried fish I had was crispy and tender, and the nachos and poke were fresh and crunchy chipped. We left with tight belts. I'd plan ahead or come prepared to hunt for parking, but it was a fun stop otherwise, especially for a friendly gathering with some solid grub.

It was busy and lively (but not overly busy), and we enjoyed sitting outside on the large patio. In general, everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the poke plate, my boyfriend ordered the two piece fish and chips, and we shared a half dozen oysters. The oysters tasted great (I thought they were briney and complemented well with hot sauce) but were small and probably not worth $4 per. I loved the flavor of the poke and the plate was a generous serving size. My boyfriend liked the crispiness and freshness of the fish and chips, but said there wasn't anything particularly special or standout. Our friends ordered various versions of the tacos and liked them, but they looked difficult to eat (small taco tortillas with heaping toppings!). There isn't much to mention for service since this restaurant does a line order, but it was interesting that waiters consistently tried to drop off the wrong food to our table. Otherwise, our actual food came out relatively quickly despite the lunch rush. I wouldn't go out of my way for the menu here, but it's a great stop for people biking through town or heading up north from the city!
