Had two implants done by Dr. Kim between 2016-2018. The first one he bragged no other dentist would…read moreconsider doing with my low of bone density but he talked me into it saying he was the "best". 7 years later and the implant has failed and my new dentist has told me after reviewing my original xrays it absolutely should not have been done in the first place. When having my second implant done, Dr Kim incorrectly inserted my IV causing pain all down my arm and keeping me from going to sleep. When I tried to alert him to this he told me to "shut up" or I would "ruin his good work." leaving me awake and in pain for the remainder of the procedure. The only saving grace was the nurse who put the gas mask on me every chance she got, leading to me telling myself I was just a car at the mechanic so the drilling into my face was standard procedure. I am still traumatised by this experience, leaving me shaking and crying for even the most basic dental cleanings. I have sat on this review of his horrible bedside manor wanting to believe he had at least been successful with a difficult case of an implant but now that I am having to spend time, money, and revisit trauma to have it removed it is more clear than ever Dr Kim cares more about his ego than his patients. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND.

That's just the 1st issue. Don't expect an explanation of benefits or to know for certain if they accept your insurance. It changes every time you deal with them. This surgeon might be the best, but the staff will frustrate you enough that you'd rather just find a new surgeon.

My problem was that one side of my lower jaw was lower than the other side. Dr. Taylor did the best he could to aligned my jaw evenly and adjust it as close as he could without damaging any nerves. I definitely see a difference in my side profile and the frontal view as well. I did not have any complications nor bleeding. The beginning of the recovery was a tad bit hard due to not eating, but it all takes patience. I recommend everyone that needs Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to go to Terry Taylor.

Navigating insurance and finding healthcare providers in a new city is beyond overwhelming so I took my time finding a dentist. I am so happy I found District Dental! Parking was easy. Check in was easy. Reminder system is great. I saw Dr. Thomas. She was amazing as was her hygienist and front desk staff. They printed out a full quote for everything that I need done that was easy to read and understand as well as gave me a referral to a trusted oral surgeon. I am excited to go back because I know that I'm in good hands!

Then the dental hygienist came in and informed me that based on his review of my X-rays I needed a deep clean to remove some buildup under my gums (which he specifically said is not a new problem) but he'd be willing to do a medium deep clean. The insurance specialist informed me it would cost over $300, out of pocket. To be clear, I go to the dentist every 6 months and have my entire life. I brush twice a day and floss daily. The dentist today had no concerns about my teeth after reviewing my X-rays. No dentist (or dental hygienist) has ever recommended a deep clean before. And I was told this is "not a new problem." I declined the medium deep cleaning, the hygienist refused to do a regular cleaning and I left. The whole experience felt very scammy. And I still need to get my teeth cleaned.

They also accept most major insurance providers. The staff is very professional and handles things like checking insurance and scheduling appointments efficiently. It's best to make an appointment for the morning or first thing after lunch. If not, you may have to wait for a while before being seen.

As in - no appointment and only the promise to call me when an appointment could be made - which I guess is never. I have tried to follow up with phone calls without sucess. Hold times at the apointment desk been up to 12 minutes. I have never had this experience before. It is not unusual to have to wait weeks for a specialist aoointment, but for the office staff to be unable to set an appointment is brand new to me. So this office is badly run and I suggest you avoid it.

Then I was escorted back by Alexis to the office to take a bunch of x-rays and pictures of my teeth, that took about 15 minutes. He was very nice and patient. Since it was my first visit Dr. Hines performed my teeth cleaning and explained good oral hygiene practices to reinforce the importance to prevent having to have more dental work done. He was kind and explained things well. I was sent home with a goodie bag and it was very easy to make a return appointment. Overall I had a great experience. The facility was clean, organized well, staff were awesome.

He is very positive and optimistic in talking with his patients which is very important when dealing with such a scary surgery. He did a fantastic job with my daughter's double jaw surgery which was a complicated and special circumstance surgery that was lasted 6 1/2 hours. I would definitely recommend him for jaw surgery. I even spoke with one of his residency students who spoke highly of him.

I was at their Sawyer location and have now moved to their Montrose Collective location. There is ample street parking or validated parking garage. There is also valet available during certain times. Their office is on the second floor by the stairs. Their office is welcoming with windows and open spaces and art pieces. It's nice to see the same cheerful front desk staff and hygienist and dental team. There is pleasant music overhead. Chairs are comfortable and rooms are tidy and clean. They are just an outstanding dental team who takes good care of their patients and give good recommendations. I'm going to have my filling looked into for next time, but it was done by their team in 2011and no issues. Their team does mouthguards and clear retainers. Very good value. It's nice to be able to sit back, relax, and just have my dental needs taken care of. I fully trust them with my dental health! Highly recommended for all your dental needs! I would give them 6 stars if I could :-). They are always smiling and will help you keep your pearly whites their best !!!

Little details like this can make a huge positive impact on your experience as patient. The staff is great. I used to go the Sawyer location--and the staff there was always great too. Everyone is very friendly and smart. I've never had any issues with any of the staff up front. The hygienists are all very sweet and professional. I've been going to Bayou City Smiles for a few years now--and again--I've never had a negative experience with ANY of the hygienists. They usually try to book you with the same hygienists multiple times, but I've had the pleasure of meeting a variety of the hygienists, and they are consistently top notch even if my teeth are super dirty :) The dentists are also very pleasant and VERY smart. On one of my first visits, they informed me that I had an EXTRA TOOTH that no dentist had ever told me about before. I thought they were playing a prank on me--surely I didn't have a hidden """EXTRA TOOTH"" that every other dentist in my life had missed. But lo and behold, when they showed me my X-rays, I could see the small little extra tooth right there. How had every other dentist in my life missed this?! The dentists at Bayou City Smiles are very sharp and attentive. You will get great dental care if you come here. I recommend it to all my friends, and you should come here too.
