I was pleasantly surprised. A "slice" of pizza is basically half a pizza. So it's totally worth the money. The staff was friendly and engaged. I was in a pretty big group and they were fairly busy, but managed to get all of our orders in a reasonable about of time. No one really had to wait longer than you would expect. Just ate there today today with my parents, my suggestion as they've never been. As we were leaving my mom said, "The big guy is gross." I asked why. She said she saw him making food and eating at the same time. She used the restroom, and their kitchen door was open. I'm not prejudiced against obese people but this is not sanitary. Really good pizza! I was there with a group and we got 4 pizzas and all shared. We got the Ed and Sal (my favorite) a Thai Chicken pizza (also very good), a Basil Spinach pizza and a Classico. I may not have those last two names right. But anyway, it was all very good. The Ed and Sal pizza had bacon and parmesan French fries on it! Crazy combination but so good! They have a good selection of bottle beers too. The location is very easy to find. Lots of available parking. The owner came over and talked with us for a bit. He seemed like a genuinely decent guy, very interested in making sure all the customers were enjoying their experience. I'll be back. read more

We ordered a pizza half vegetarian and half not vegetarian. We picked up our order and got back home, the entire pizza had Canadian bacon and sausage. When we called, we told the guy exactly what was wrong with each side. He handed off the phone to someone else who then made us repeat exactly what was wrong with each side of the order. Then, they made us fight for a free replacement. Further, when we went to pick it up, the order was wrong AGAIN. It was missing ingredients. The chef in the back smirked and said "Oh I'll just give her the missing ingredients on a plate on the side." What kind of shitty attitude is this? I expect a lot better from a place like this. The food was good but the service was so terrible. Now we're left with so much excess food. I've been here so many times and I've never been disappointed. I've tried most of the specialty slices as well as just plain cheese / pepp pizza. (I took this photo a few months ago.) The pizza slices are HUGE and enough for nearly 2 meals or for you to smash a giant slice all at once. The fries are also super dope (parm cheese all the way.) This was my first time trying Lighthouse pizza. I've always heard positive things about it so I had high hopes. It did not disappoint! They have a wide variety of signature pies or you can create your own. We decided to go with a classic supreme pizza for our first time before diving into anything else. We ordered a whole pizza which was so much bigger than we expected! For 2 it was definitely a lot of food. We were able to have it for 2 dinners. The pizza was thin and had s good texture to the crust. The sauce is comes with is interesting. I couldn't quite place what it tasted like to me. I wasn't sure about it by itself, it's tangy and sweet. But somehow with the pizza, it went so well! I still need to try the fries and more of their signature pizzas, but for a first visit it was great! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for great pizza in the area. read more

Being a pizza lover, I found Lighthouse Pizza through Yelp and trying to find good delivery options in town. So I've ordered delivery from them on several occasions, mainly the Dough Boys they have and an order or two of a full pizza or pizza slice. I will say from the start that the delivery fee is quite low and affordable, making it an attractive option for delivery. And to this point they haven't ever gotten anything incorrect on an order for me. So as far as those aspects they perform very well. Now, onto the most important part. The food. The Dough Boys they have are basically a muffin shaped version of breadsticks, and they're pretty tasty. The slight char on them from cooking is generally a nice touch, but could depend on someone's tastes in how someone likes their food. As long as the char is kept to a minimum though, the Dough Boys taste very nice, and the marinara dipping sauce is decent. The Dough Boys are quite satisfactory, and a good option if you'd like a nice savory bread dish to eat, particularly one that's fluffy and thick compared to the thinner crust of something like pizza. Their pizzas and pizza slices are decent too, and the flavor is alright along with the toppings being pretty good. No major complaints as far as flavor from me, their ingredients seem to be done decently and have good flavor you'd expect from some pizza. The crust of the pizza being super thin though does make the ratio of cheese and topping kind of heavy compared to how much crust you get, which is a big issue at least for me. However, there is one major flaw to eating a slice of pizza from here, either ordering an individual slice, or eating a slice from a full pizza. It's that the pizza slices are too large, way too large. And because this is pizza with a pretty thin crust, it compounds the issue. A slice of pizza is about 10 inches in length from where you hold it at the crust, to the pointy triangular end (I measured it). It's also pretty long from one side of the holding portion of the crust to the other. It's a wide, lengthy portion of pizza with a razor thin crust underneath trying to hold it all together. This huge slice size makes the pizza unwieldly to eat, and you don't buy pizza to tear off bits of a slice to eat it, or to eat it with a fork like you would a pasta. You want to eat it one slice at a time, occasionally with two hands yeah but usually you like being able to use one hand to bring the pizza up so you can bite into its deliciousness easily with the pointy end. Here, that just isn't possible due to how huge the slices are, making it a chore to eat into it, and also causing the slice to droop downward because of it having a thin crust. It's true that when you order delivery they give you an option to have a pizza slice cut in half, or to go with a 'party cut' with square slices when ordering a full pizza. But even then a pizza slice for you to eat would be too large even if cut in half, and you also don't have a smaller option of a traditionally shaped pizza slice when ordering a full pizza. And at the end of the day, I want to base my review on the food I received and also what the default options are for the food. What's the most important part of serving food, aside from making sure it tastes good? Being able to eat it. It would be like if someone served you a beautifully done steak just like you asked for, but the only silverware they gave you was a plastic fork and plastic knife that aren't up to the task of cutting through a steak so that you can actually eat it. Now maybe the large slices of pizza are part of the charm of this restaurant, and maybe there are those out there who actually love that aspect about the pizza. That's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the food and their own experiences with it. This is just my own experience with the size of each individual pizza slice being a negative for me, and I enjoy food that is easy to eat and dig into. All in all, I would highly recommend the Dough Boys at Lighthouse Pizza. The pizza however does not hit the mark for me. read more

I'm not after to shout it from the roof tops... I LOVE Lighthouse Pizza! The massive slices are a fun novelty, but the pizza is actually really really good. The have a large variety of toppings you can put on your pizza too, which should please most people. I always go for garlic and cream cheese and my fiance does double pepperoni, garlic, and basil pesto drizzle. The sauce that comes with it also makes it. It's perfect for dipping the crust in and sometimes if I have any left over I'll save it and dip other foods in it like garlic bread. My friends from Lincoln come to visit and literally only want to go to Lighthouse for lunch. Which is fine by me! Haha. read more

As pizza goes this is some of the best in Omaha. Why then do I not give Lighthouse a higher rating? Why don't they have a larger dining room? Why don't they have a decent beer selection? Those are the two main reasons I wouldn't rate them any higher. The pizzas we had were well above average and should easily rate a 4 or higher but without atmosphere and a quality beer selection they are just a neighborhood pizza joint. read more

This pizza was amazing! I was about to fly in a few hours and came to get a pre-flight bite to eat. Instead I left feeling like I ate enough to feed a small country. You can essentially fix your pizza the way you want. They have pre-set specialty menu items OR you can choose the crust, sauce and toppings yourself. The Food AMAZING! Of course this is one of those parlors where the pizza slice is as large as a small / medium pan. But even by those standards the pizza was HUGE. I had a Philly Steak slice. I happened to catch it during its limited appearance not long after the Super Bowl (according to the sign). It was soon yummy. And don't even get me started on the "house" dipping sauce that accompanies any slice you order. Don't know what was in it, but it was great. My friend also ordered the park garlic fries and let me taste. I wish I had ordered some because they were amazing! She also had garlic knots, which looked good, but I didn't taste them. Also, we didn't wait long for our food at all. The place wasn't full, but for the amount of people in there I would've expected wait longer. The Facility / Location Located in a small strip mall down the row from Martini nails (hint ladies: nice little treat day). Ample parking in a private lot. The facility was quaint and clean. Order at the counter up front and then make your way to any number of seats to the side of the counter, some of which are tucked around the corner and allow for privacy. Perfect if you just wanted to come alone and eat unbothered. Pricing Inexpensive. Can't remember the cost of a whole pizza, but a slice was about $8 or so, tax and a tip included. The amount of food you get is waaaaay more than worth the price. Atmosphere Great for any type of casual meet-up between friends or even a family meal. It's just fun and casual with your average noise level. Really great pizza. A single slice is absolutely huge and is enough for a meal. The whole pies are great, too. You can get your classic meat and cheese pizzas here alongside a menu of fun house pizzas like the Ed & Sal -- bacon, parm garlic fries and the signature Lighthouse sauce. Yum. My absolute favorite thing I've tried here is their vegetarian pizza, comprised of green peppers, shrooms, onions and spinach with a basil pesto sauce. I'm a red sauce guy by default, but dayum that basil pesto sauce was so savory and good. I dream about it sometimes. Each time I've been here, it's been pretty busy inside. They have a steady drive thru line going on as well, especially when they're open late on the weekends. Overall, one of the best spots for pizza in Omaha! read more

My boyfriend and I come to Lighthouse Pizza frequently. He normally gets a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza. I do variations of create your own pizza slice. We always enjoy the Lighthouse sauce on our pizza! We also get the garlic parmesan fries as an appetizer. Those are a must-have!!! They also pair very well with the sauce!! Staff is always friendly and the resturaunt is clean and welcoming! They are also open late so that is a nice bonus of this pizza restaurant!! Did you know that there are two lighthouses in Nebraska? Makes perfect sense to me since the corn field covered Nebraskan land sits in the middle of the country far far away from anything remotely maritime.............. .................. Well folks, now there is another lighthouse in Nebraska saving pizza-hungry Omahaians from a sea of greasy fast food pizza joints. The question is, how effective is this lighthouse? Before I answer that question, did you know that in 1822, French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel created a new light-weight large diameter lens capable of efficiently concentrating omnidirectional light sources? While this increased a lighthouse's lens focus concentration from 20% to 85%, I'm also confident that the combination of this invention and the death of Napoleon in 1821 increased Fresnel's pimp status from 20% to 110%! Why do I bring this bit of history up? Because after eating at Lighthouse Pizza, I found myself wishing that Fresnel was still around to increase the taste of the pizza from 20% to something I would actually come back for... The "slices" are $4.99 and you get the following: 1. White or honey wheat bread 2. Tomato-Tomahto sauce or no sauce 3. 5 additional toppings (meat, veggies, other sauces like pesto) As I waited for my food, I was wondering why one "slice" was $4.99. It was because you actually get two slices that are about the size of a quartered small pizza. I wasn't extremely hungry at the time which is why I only wanted one slice, so I felt like I was tricked into buying another slice that I wasn't going to finish. I'm not one to care about service, but the lady who took our order wasn't very welcoming (as I would expect from a lighthouse - welcome back to land!!) On top of that, my order was wrong... I was missing a topping and missing the extra pesto sauce that I ordered. To her credit, I did change my order midway through... but it would have been nice if my order was confirmed. I don't like to take food back, so I ate it anyway. The focus concentration of taste was pre-Fresnel Lense at a low and inefficient 20%. The cheese had no flavor, the tomato sauce was lacking and dry and the toppings just weren't fresh. The onions and green peppers are already cooked instead of freshly cut. There is a difference between carmalized onions and fresh onions and it would have been nice to know. The 20% flavor comes from the crust. It is thin, warm, crunchy and tasty. But I don't come to pizza places for the crust... My friend ordered the veggie pizza with honey wheat crust. I thought his bread was also good and the pesto gave it a lot more flavor. I didn't finish my entire "slice" and I mainly ate because I was hungry and my body needs nutrients at least every three hours. Did this lighthouse save me from my sea of hunger? Yes, but it wasn't an enjoyable experience and I won't be back. But folks, this is just my humble opinion. Pizza is a very personal subject for folks so you might like this place. To the credit of this lighthouse, other than the cashier, the workers were all pretty friendly and we were asked if we liked our pizza. The owner even e-mailed me after I wrote my initial review to apologize if I didn't like the pizza and thanking me for trying them anyway. Nice guy! There is also drive-thru for this lighthouse that looks to be pretty quick if you are in for a quicky pizza fix. It's not nasty greasy pizza fast food so that's a plus... I'm hoping that this place will soon invest in a Fresnel Lens to help optimize the concentration of taste, but for now, I know to steer clear of this false light of pizza hope. read more

Our new go-to for pizza! We had always heard this place was great, but WOAH! SO delicious. We have tried the Mac & Cheese, Buffalo Chicken, Sparky and plain ol' classic cheese pizza slices. All have exceeded our expectations, probably due to the amazing Lighthouse sauce that comes with most slices. Seriously, amazing. We have tried their super fries as well and did enjoy them -- but will leave those for once we start dining out again (no fries hold up in a to-go container). read more

Me and some friends found ourselves at Lighthouse Pizza recently. As is typical, I pulled up Yelp reviews and saw an odd mix of 1 star and 5 star reviews. The 1 star reviews seemed to be pretty old, dated to what I learned was a somewhat rocky start-up. Understandable, but I stood ready to dole out my precious stars sparingly, as I take my reviews pretty seriously. The slices were around $4 but you get up to 5 toppings so that seemed comparable to Zio's and the like. Slices were huge! A whole pie was around $20 so we went that route. A Vegetarian pesto pizza and another with combo type toppings. You could select white or honey wheat crust. I noted with surprise an odd selection of french fries topped with all sorts of naughty stuff. I'm a 40 plus year old man and have no business ordering such things. But since someone else at our table did I thought it would be rude not to taste them. The Beef and Blue with brisket and blue cheese crumbles, and the Outlaw with pulled pork and BBQ sauce.. Fugget about it. Then the pizzas came rolling out. I tell you I couldn't stop myself. They were the best New York style pizza I've tasted in the city. I stuffed myself uncomfortably with only mild self loathing. I will be back. Those of you that gave this place 1 star, you either don't like pizza or you need to try it again. I went to Lighthouse Pizza with some of my friends. It was just okay. The only way I would go back is if it were with friends again and they insisted. The pieces are huge! They cut their pizza's in four pieces, so that is pretty awesome. This is also the first place I had cream cheese on my pizza, which is very delicious; however, they didn't put nearly enough on. Alright, dudes and dudettes. Lighthouse hits all the notes it needs to for me. It's 10:38 PM. I'm off of work a little early on a Saturday night. It's pretty late, but certainly not late enough for me to go home and go to bed. I haven't eaten dinner. Maybe I should go explore and have a bite. After a cursory scroll through my Yelp bookmarks, I see the word "Drive-thru" under Lighthouse Pizza and I am sold. A coworker had mentioned the vegetarian pesto pizza a few days ago. "I'll try that," I thought to myself. I so appreciate that Lighthouse is open late on weekends. People eat late on weekends. Driving through Omaha and seeing all the places that were closed made Lighthouse - true to the name - shine like a beacon of warm pizza hope. Again, nothin' but praise from me. The menu looked delicious, all of it. Pizza came out hot. The "slice" was huge. The flavor was above-par and I could dip the soft crust in their signature dipping sauce (love that). The side salad was a great combo of mixed greens, mozzarella, diced tomatoes, and black olives. Good ranch. Open late, drive-thru, huge slices of hot pizza for about six bucks... In my opinion this place is the best pizza in all of Omaha. With the variety and size for what you pay it's worth every penny. The crust is always on point and the sauce they serve with the pizza is so good. Did I mention one slice is almost as big as your head and only cost about $6. A whole pie is $25 bucks for about 8 slices but they are so big you can only eat about two if you aren't trying to be greedy. If you have been here yet try it today! read more
