The fries were delicious, the strawberry cream pie was great, and the burger tasted good. Unfortunately, the service and presentation really brought the experience down. I was the only car in the drive-thru, yet there was no greeting, no "thank you," and barely any communication beyond being given my total. The workers seemed irritated, and a little basic friendliness would make a big difference. The burger also looked rushed and thrown together. What I received looked nothing like the pictures--much smaller and pretty rough in presentation. The food has potential, but if I'm paying $21 for a burger and fries, it needs to be worth $21. Oh. My. Gosh! This is by FAR the most classic, good-ole boy, make-you-wanna-order-another burger I've had in years! It came out quick and took me straight back to when I was a boy eating a burger with my momma at the local "Georgia's Drive-In" that we had back home when I was a kid. The woman, who I assume was the manager, that took my order was so sweet! When I came in she was sweeping, and I accidentally sat right in her way after I ordered! Instead of being rude about it like most would nowadays, we had a nice laugh and conversation. I always appreciate someone giving a smile instead of a scowl in response to an honest mistake! It goes a million miles further and, believe it or not, makes the food taste better! The atmosphere isn't going to be your Michelin style, clean cut and polished restaurant, and THANK GOODNESS! Being in Omaha for business seems to take the human out of you sometimes, but this place took me right back to the diners of my childhood. I know that this is the OG Bronco's, but I think I prefer the one on 120th and Pacific! I've been to this original location many times through my childhood and early adulthood, when drinking libations nearby. Going back as a full fledged adult recently, I was sad to see it did not live up to my fond memories. The food here is right on par with the newer Bronco's, but the staff and cleanliness of this location leave a lot to be desired. The floor hadn't been swept at all, and no tables were clean the last time we went. We tried to go outside but there was a police officer interrogating someone out there (?!) The staff were also kind of dismissive when we were trying to order and asking questions. So I would say if you're craving a burger from Bronco's, definitely hit up the one on 120th and Pacific if you're able to. It's the same food, but it's a lot cleaner, larger, with more seating, and better staff. read more

Nice treat after the Dr. My youngest son asks for chicken after we visit the eye specialist down the road, this has become his favorite, and I really like it as well. The onion rings are delicious. I don't care too much for the burgers, but we all love the chicken. Could use more seating, but we manage. read more

In the past year I have been here a few more times. Service has definitely improved. If I'm honest the main reason I don't go to Broncos very much is because their food cost too much. However I live with people who love it and every now and then I feel like I have to accommodate their passion for a bronco. Overall my experience was really good but I was frustrated at the end cuz I needed a copy of the receipt and it wasn't offered given to me and then took several minutes for anyone to come to the window to see what I was waiting there for even though I watched two of them look directly at me three different times and walk away. Moved here from WA and all my coworkers had told me this place was the spot - so we tried it today and it was an immediate regret. Garlic bread tasted terrible, "big pony" burger had cardboard thin size patties, were super dry, and super underwhelming taste wise. Fries looked and tasted like they were fried in 30 day old grease and then steamed. 0% structural integrity, they were basically potato noodles. Mashed potatoes and gravy had 0 salt and 0 flavor. Gravy tasted like dog food. The cream/strawberry pie had potential but the oil it was fried in was super old, tasted disgusting. The only GOOD thing we had was the onion rings. They were thick and crunchy, 10/10. Service through window was terrible too, the lady was pushing our order through and we hadn't even finished ordering. Super disappointed, please don't go here. We shared a 2 PC chicken, large diet coke, small onion rings, small mashed potatoes and gravy, 1 piece of garlic bread. Cost $32. $4.17 for a large diet coke. The onion rings were okay. Everything else tasted terrible. We will probably go again, but only for burgers. The chicken and the mashed potatoes are awful and not worth the money. My memory of "Bronco's" goes back to high school days & going to Broncos by Ames. I live in Dundee area & once & awhile I manage to drive through on 40 th Leavenworth & get a basic Cheeseburger with onions, pickles & mustard with the crispy french fries that taste like Pomme Frites . I always ask if they can give me the crispy fries & the older folks follow through. I feel like I use the phrase "an Omaha classic" a lot. But I'm never lying about it. Bronco's chicken is awesome! That being said, I almost always get the patty melt here because it's the best one I have ever found! Just the best. Sometimes I don't see it on the menu board and have a moment of panic. The fries are like from another era. Kinda limp and greasy but I mean that in the best way! I usually don't get my own order, I prefer to steal them from my husband's meal. Somehow that makes them even better. He loves the chocolate shake...it's not really a favorite of mine; the soft-serve ice cream makes it kind of foamy. Nonetheless I have to have a taste or two of his. Service here is usually great - fast and friendly. The unique (anymore anyway) building and the neon sign...I hope these things never go away. Seating inside is limited; there are some picnic tables outside as well. But like it says, you might have to drive thru. Let's not let these classic places just slip away! read more

Broncos burgers and fries are great. Last few visits have not been great. Burger meat is getting smaller and smaller. Last visit the burger was more condiments than burger / cheese ruining the normally good taste. Burger was not real warm either. They also forgot our fries too. My spouse committed the cardinal sin by ordering fried chicken for our son. The staff were a little pissed, commenting on how he should have just gotten the chicken tenders. I had a very bad experience today in the drive-thru.I was gifted a gift card from my job at Christmas, when I went to use it today I was told none of the gift cards work. That they haven't worked in months and there's nothing they can do about it. The drive-through worker got the manager who yelled at me ripped a sign down from the inside of the building shook it in my face and told me how the gift cards haven't worked in forever and it's not her problem there's nothing she can do. When I suggested collecting all the gifted gift cards and bringing them back for reimbursement I was told good luck We don't do that. I brought my patty melt home to hopefully give it a second chance. Hubs left his meal for the trash. Not willing to say anything for fear of spit in our food. They have 3 booths for dine in . I've gone to the West Omaha locations several times as it was the only fast food place nearby when I went to Beveridge and Burke. This was my first time visiting the Leavenworth location. Some things you should note: 1. There are may 3 or 4 tables (I think) inside, so not much seating. 2. There is a back patio with some more tables but obviously only works well for overflow if wether is nice. 3. The bathroom is by the back patio and kinda part of the employees-only area back where they make food. Food was better in my memory than this most recent visit. The fries are still good, but the burgers WILL NOT fill you up. At a price point of around $10 for a value meal, you would still need to get another sandwich or combo meal to get full. Since moving away from Omaha, I occasionally find myself craving restaurants that are local to the area. I finally had a good enough reason to make the 90-minute drive into town (aside from just for food) and I swung by Bronco's drive-thru this afternoon. Luckily for me, there were no cars in line--which was a rare but pleasant surprise. Staff/Service: The gal who rang me up was very nice and not at all bothered with my last minute addition of a soda, my food came out hot and fresh very quickly, and I was out of there in under about five minutes. I ordered two Big Broncos and a large fry--not all for me unfortunately. The burger isn't fancy but boy does it hit you just right. There's a good bun-to-patty ratio, ample toppings, and sufficiently spread condiments. The lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh, too. Now, the fries are probably my favorite. Remember being in grade school and going to the diner with your grandpappy? Well, these fries are a straight throwback to those days. They're greasy, like grease comin' through the bottom of the bag greasy, and the restaurant staff always gives you a dump of fries. Bronco's fries will make your heart sing and help you to forget that you're in the middle of the States with little else to do other than daydream about greasy diner-esque burgers and fries. I wouldn't make a 90-minute drive without good reason, but the food is good enough to make you nostalgic and good enough to give you an itch that can't be scratched unless you do take a day trip into town and swing by this homely Omaha staple. Broncos has been around forever and I'm over 50 and I've been to this location so many times over my life. The food has always been great. The last several times I've been here however the service has been really substandard. Cranky servers who won't smile at you and snap at you if you ask a question. The service was not very friendly, I went inside to order and they did not say hello or recognize me for a good 5 min or so. Broncos is a cult fast food favorite in Omaha. Burgers like you remember as a kid. The fries are a big draw. They cut russets every day, soak the fries in water then pre cook them in low temperature oil, stage them until needed then finished in hot oil. A lot of trouble but worth it. I like the basic little burgers. They are simple but fresh and tasty. Their fried chicken is also excellent as is their tenderloin and grilled Frank. Service is quick.
