Found this high end salon since we live near by. A nice colorist and stylist named Grace Embleton was able to take me for color and frosting (highlights), because she said she had a cancellation. I showed her a photo of myself to make sure she knew how light blonde I wanted my hair done. I tipped her about 20% in cash of what the services cost not knowing that my hair was not highlighted enough in the back since she never handed me a mirror to see the back of my head. My husband noticed it right away when he picked me up and we both asked why my base color was also darker than what we requested and why there were not enough highlights done with foil in the back of my head (Grace did the base color a medium brown instead of a light blonde which I requested). And I specifically asked her when she was applying the base color if it was going to be a light blonde and she said Yes. Instead of offering to correct it and put more highlights in she just said that she would do it next time even though she knew we were very unhappy. After spending $350. - the results were disappointing to say the least and my husband does not like my hair color. read more

It's fitting that this place is called Lighthouse, which symbolizes for me- individuality and strength, exactly the two things I feel after getting a cut with Tiffany. Tiffany is a wonderful gal and veteran stylist. She listens to what style your looking for and gives exactly that! The Salon Suite itself is spacious and relaxing which is what I also love. I used to get my haircut only to 1-2x/year to avoid the typical loud, zappy, pretentious kind of environment, that's not my jam. Now, I don't need to minimize and cut myself short. This review is for Jessica. I've been searching long, far and wide for a good hair stylist. I had been going to Desired Effects for years, but the last few haircuts on a simple bob were simply awful. I had to go back three times to have my usual stylist even my hair out, and it just kept getting shorter and choppier, so I decided to just let it grow out and find a new stylist. I saw a photo of a cute short hairstyle that Jessica did on blonde hair and really liked it. Even though this individual's hair type is completely different from mine, I decided to bite the bullet and book an appointment with Jessica -- I'm so glad I did! She took her time to listen to what I wanted in my haircut and was very enjoyable to talk to while she took her time cutting my hair. I really appreciated that she didn't rush the process at all, and by the end of it all, I was stunned to see a gorgeous bob that was perfectly textured, and perfectly even. I really recommend this hair stylist for your next haircut! She charges $70, which is completely reasonable for the quality of work that she does, let alone the time you get to spend in her secluded, naturally-lit suite. read more

This isn't a place that tends to women of color/Black women. I was a part of a bridal group and everyone else who was fairer skinned looked gorgeous. They put in a lot of time and detail. I, however, was in the chair all of 15 minutes and came out looking like a clown and had to go home and fix my makeup myself. I don't wear makeup often but I know that makeup should be blended to the neck; additionally when asking for a natural look, you shouldn't put nearly white tone eyeshadow or an excessive amount of light pink blush on my skin tone. My artist only used concealer without cleaning or priming my face and obviously didn't really know what to do even though she was given notice I'd be coming as well. I was on the verge of tears but kept on with my day because it was obvious that I was not a priority. Certified cosmetologist should be equipped to make a woman of any skin tone look and feel confident after leaving. So, if you are a fair skinned woman this is the place for you, but women of color should avoid. read more

Ang is the only person I trust enough to cut my hair. Not that I'm particularly protective of my hair or anything, I've just been to many other people that don't know how to do it right. But Ang always gets it right, which is a pretty big deal for me. In fact, I've had to come to Ang after someone else cut my hair, and have her fix it. (that happened one time and I felt really dumb for "cheating" on Ang. It won't happen again.) She's also a really great person, and that makes the experience even better. Yesterday (7/6/2018) I walked in and got a hug from her, and then we just chatted about my newborn child while she worked her magic. The place, Lighthouse, is really nice too. The AC worked well (it was 108 degrees outside that day), they have refrigerators with drinks in em, they have the water with sliced lemon and stuff, a nice person greets you at the front and you sit in comfy chairs or a sofa...it's a fancy place. Bottom line for me, I can't ask for anything more and I will always get my hair cut by Ang. read more

Erin Prater is Aaaamazing!! I have the most difficult situation going on with my eyebrows, eye shape etc. I've had to pencil them in my whole adult life and have never felt comfortable with that even. I went to see her for microblading and she killed it!! The way she did the strokes, their placement and the shape she gave me... I couldn't have asked for anything more. I woke up and looked in the mirror this morning and smiled so big. What a dream to not have to really shape and pencil them in everyday. I love my hairdresser. Lori is the best! The wifi issue is a huge hassle. Every business offers free wifi. This salon will not give out the code making two hour appointments very difficult.
