This wonderful woman has been doing my hair for almost 10 years!!! She always makes my hair look amazing and listens to what kind of look I would like to achieve. I think that is the most important trait for anyone who is going to do anyone's hair. She always checks on my hair the very next day and is always willing to make adjustments - like if a piece of hair is bugging me, or if there is something off with the cut or color - without a hassle! I really recommend her because I know she is very passionate about her work and she really does care about ALL her clients. She is very knowledgeable about coloring and the whole chemistry of it (she talks about it, but I can never really understand), and she also mentors younger girls who aspire to have their own salons as well. I happened to get lucky and stumble upon Nicolette's shop before my facial at The Body Santuary in the same plaza. I asked the girls at the front desk where I could get my hair blown out and they called Nicolette to see if she could do it after. Not only did she say yes, but she was there when I came out of my facial and walked me over to her shop. She is like an old fashioned hairdresser who makes you feel very comfortable letting her do whatever she feels is right for you. She has no ego and doesn't mind suggestions but honestly, she is an ARTIST! She is also incredibly reasonable and although she has clients who drive over an hour to see her, she is accommodating to fit in new customers. She also hasn't raised her prices in 15 years. Wait, maybe I shouldn't sing from the rooftops about her on Yelp, unless she makes time for me! Next time, I will take a picture of my hair after so you can see how great she is. read more

i made the mistake of going in there for a haircut after having dined at the Thai restaurant next door some time ago. The place is a boutique salon and looked very appealing. I inquired about her prices, was given a certain quote but was told different once I made the call for an appointment. I figured as long she does a good job, I will pay her a visit. I was given an evening appt. but called in to see if she had an earlier opening. I should have stayed home. I showed her the exact cut I wanted but even before I had a chance to settle in to tell her what I wanted, she started in with hair color swatching after I was SPECIFIC about what I wanted: A blunt bob. Straight across. That is NOT what I got. I had long black hair that was an old bob that grew out into a luxurious mane and I ended up with a flip hairdo. This woman and her sidekick were so busy going on and on about color and being daring with it that my requests were silenced by prattling and a hacked haircut. For someone else this do might work, but now I have to go somewhere else to get this corrected. She says she guarantees her work but now I don't trust her. I should have known when I saw she had shaky hands. I am so pissed. About the only saving grace was her Isabel, her assistant. She was the only one who spoke to me a in a genuine tone and listened to me. I don't recommend this place if you are looking for a sharp and delineated cut and style. I could go on and on about the Twilight Zone quality of this experience, but I am too sad. I am so glad she did not color my hair since she did not listen the first time. read more

Nicolette is amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I had spent close to $500 of dollars in an upscale Beverly Hills salon for an ombre and wow, what a mess that was! Total disaster! I had dark brown hair and the color was lifted to a red/orange color and had to be done again... to still have the same horrible color the 2nd time and the strength of my hair was becoming questionable. I came to Nicolette for color correction and had hoped that she could fix the problem without further damaging my hair. She was AMAZING!!! She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me options on what she could do. She was able to lift the color further without causing any additional damage and actually improved the quality of my hair with a treatment she had recommended. I had a color lift, base color, highlights, conditioning treatment, cut and blow-dry and the price was unbelievably competitive. Honestly, I will not go to anyone else again. She approaches hair as an art and is unbelievably knowledgeable and gifted in the craft. She is always on the cutting edge of whats next and up-incoming in the industry and I LOVE that she shares all of this with her clients. After all, that's what you go to a stylist for, right? Nicolette is technically and artistically brilliant. Her haircuts and styling are top notch and she's an expert with color. She listens to what you want. She also has great ideas because she is an artist at what she does. She is always nice. She can be kookie, by her own admission. Like most woman, I think I love my hairdresser, and eventually they slack off or I tire of them somehow. I've been going to Nicolette for about 6 years, with no intention of leaving. I'm a mom. My 24 year old daughter went to Nicolette on the recommendation of a friend. Then my daughter recommended Nicolette to me. We also love the small salon. Everyone just chats and has fun. It's a very comfortable feeling. Nothing pretentious about it. You'll find entire families coming in, as well as some lovely very senior citizens. It can be busy, but never boring! Wow! What an unpleasant experience, and disaster. This woman,Nicolette, has some serious issues. Not only were my personal belongings searched without consent, the purses of all clients in the salon were searched. why? An older client, ie dowager, claimed to have her wallet containing two thousand dollars cash stolen. Did I mention I had walked in the door, did not even get settled,before the histrionics began. Surprise-no one had her wallet, or cash. No apologies offered for the accusations or searches. Worse yet, my hair! The color, or should I say "colors", was hideous - multi colored stripes, in every hideous shade of red imaginable. I was grateful it washed down the drain in less than two weeks. Well, most of it. Geez, the cut was criminal! The bangs consisted of a chunk of hair hacked off. I phoned two weeks after my appointment, to give Nicolette the opportunity to correct the problems, she just could not be bothered. I found Paige, at Salon Rouge, she saved my hair, and my self esteem. Paige worked for more than three hours on the color alone. The end result was unbelievable, I received non stop compliments! My husband was so thrilled he grabbed me and gave me a big kiss. My advice, avoid the histrionics and stripes, go directly to Salon Rouge and schedule with Paige. read more
