I was so worried about finding my new go-to nail salon after moving to Thousand Oaks from Sawtelle (West Los Angeles)! I tried one other nail salon in town with lackluster results (the gel polish came off within a few days and the nail techs kept pushing more services...), so I wanted to do more research on a good place. After researching for some time, the best reviews came from this particular location -- the next day around noon (Thursday), I decided to call and see if I could walk in, and the gentleman on the phone encouraged me to come on right over! When I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff and the biggest hello from Alex! I was seated immediately on one of the most comfortable massage chairs, and I was in and out of there in 30 minutes with the best service (which is the fastest and most efficient nail experience I've ever had!). I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure -- and I was treated so well, and I felt so pampered!! There were so many colors to choose from, and the nail technicians helped me out. Alex said that they've been there for 5 years, and the other client sitting next to me also said she's been a loyal customer since the start of their opening. I saw Alex greet people by name and go around to make sure everyone was comfortable. I always have such a lovely experience. Tim has been my nail tech for years, and by some miracle we ended up reunited at this salon after I moved. He is truly one of the kindest, sweetest people and always knows exactly what I want, even when I can't fully explain it myself. His attention to detail, talent, and positive energy keep me coming back every time. He's my nail angel soulmate! Alex is equally amazing. He always greets everyone with such warmth and genuine hospitality. From offering beverages to making sure clients feel comfortable and cared for, he creates an environment that feels welcoming rather than rushed. I just moved to Southern California and did quite a bit of research on which nail salon to try, and I am SO thankful that all of the positive reviews led me to Village Nails and Spa. I truly think I found my new go-to spot on my very first try! From the moment you walk in, the staff is so sweet, welcoming, and kind. The whole atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. I especially appreciated that once I was in my chair, they gave me a laminated sheet with all of the options and upgrades to look through while they started with a simple pedicure. I can get overwhelmed when options are presented verbally really quickly, so having everything written out gave me time to process and choose what I actually wanted without feeling pressured. Such a thoughtful touch! The woman who did my pedicure was incredibly detail-oriented. I had gel on my toes from a previous salon, and she removed it with so much care. If you know what a "ring of fire" is, you know how important this is -- she was extremely gentle and careful with my natural nails, which I really appreciated. Alex was working next to me on another client's manicure and kept checking in on me throughout my appointment in the sweetest way. Everyone was genuinely so kind and attentive. Another thing I was SO excited to discover was their color selection! I've been wanting to try some of the DND colors I've seen all over TikTok, especially the light pink shades like DND 601. At other salons, I could never find the exact DND brand or color number I wanted, so I had gotten used to choosing similar look-alike shades. When I came here and saw that they actually had the exact colors I've been wanting to try, it was such a fun find! They have so many options to choose from. Finished product was beyond gorgeous! I also had an equally great experience with a pedicure by Alex (he even removed my ingrown toenails) and manicure done by Tim. BUYER BEWARE. I called around to several nail places who do Gel X as my usual girl was out of town. There were specific decals that I wanted to have put on that I bought from a reputable company that had great reviews. I told the person I talked to over the phone this and they said "we can try it, it shouldn't be a problem." When I got there, I showed the person doing my nails and they insisted I pick a color. Again, I emphasized that I wanted to use the decals I ordered. The nail tech repeatedly tried to talk me out of it, then said "if it doesn't work then I have to remove the nail." Then why not try it on a separate nail?! It was obvious they just told me what I wanted to hear to get me in the door. I finally gave in and picked a design that I always get done but it wasn't what I wanted for the event I was going to. It gets worse. While the design was pretty, the nails lasted 6 DAYS!!!! 4 nails had fallen off not even a week into having them done! My Gel X have ALWAYS lasted 6 weeks, sometimes longer. It was $180 for my gel pedi and full set. Getting your nails done is expensive and this never should have happened. Bottom line: it's disappointing that the nail tech didn't even attempt to do what I came in for, plus I wasted $180 and now have to spend another $120 for my girl to put on a new set when this should have lasted me weeks. I'm pretty disgusted with the quality of work. NEVER AGAIN. Edited after owner's response: NO. I was told you would TRY to do the decals but all you did was talk me out of it. I posted 2 weeks after my appointment because I worked all week. Like I SAID: they started breaking off by day 4, lost 3 total nails by day 6. Why would I want to go back to have three nails fixed to have the same crap work done? Enjoy my money! Learn a better technique and stop ripping off your customers. read more

Requested for a new color before they even put the top coat and they were very rude and not accommodating about it given I am paying for the service. Ended up putting four layers of nail polish instead of just removing the first two coats leaving the nails to look very thick and globby. Not only that but they were very nice to other customers but for some reason gave a lot of attitude towards me and my company. After posting this review, the salon texted me threatening legal action if I didn't remove it, which felt very unprofessional. read more

I feel bad giving this rating since the guy running a place was so nice however, Tina, my nail technician kept filing one of my nails about twice as long as the rest, and I didn't think anything of it until I saw she completely filed off my natural white tip. I received a pedicure first. Alex was kind and did a great job. Then I went for my manicure. Claire would not paint my nails until I paid in advance. I am finishing my 30th year of teaching and had come straight from work. I am not sure why she asked that. When I was paying, she asked if I could pay in cash. I couldn't, but told her to put it on my card, and then I will go get cash and come back for the tip. They quite clearly did not trust me and told me to put it on the card. After I tipped them both, another man approached me to ask why I was getting my manicure. He told me to never come without cash for a tip. I really wanted to like this place, and then it took a bad turn. I only get my nails done for special occasions. This weekend I had to attend two graduations. Needless to say, I will never be back.
