I was getting married last Friday and stopped by Top Nails on my way from LA to the venue in Camarillo to get my nails done prior to my rehearsal walkthrough. I came in and was quickly and politely greeted. After explaining what I wanted I was given a place to sit. It didn't take long before Kevin came to sit down across from me to work on my nails. I showed him the inspo image of what I wanted and he got to work. I've never had a design where an airbrush machine had to be used so I was very intrigued by what he was doing. After about 40ish minutes my nails were done and looked beautiful! I thought Kevin did a great job. My nails can grow long, but I rarely get them done. Even though I was getting them done for the wedding it felt nice to treat myself and have a moment of quiet to myself before the hectic wedding weekend began. Finally, I appreciated how easy payment was. I could pay via Zelle on my phone as one of the options. It's nice not having to worry about pulling out a card or cash to pay / tip for services and possibly risk damaging a nail. Would go back if I am ever in the area again. read more

Updated review - been going here for a couple of months now and was given a new nail tech since I wanted french design on my hands. Unfortunately 2 nails chipped within 3 days - I was going to get it fixed, which they were willing to do, but ended up not having time (so that was my fault). But then after a week 3 more nails chipped/broke (picture) so a total of 5 nails have chipped within a week. The nail tech I was with was not friendly which didn't help my experience either. And I think I was overcharged by $5 - not a big deal but ended up making the nail tech less trustworthy. I did not realize the overcharge until I looked at the menu and saw that French tip was only supposed to be an extra $10 rather than $15 (which was what I was charged). I will be coming back but will be going back to my original nail tech whose nails lasted more than 3+ weeks with no chips or issues! read more

Bad Experience Here - Won't Be Back As a business owner I hate leaving bad reviews because I know it's not the owner's fault but in this case it is because you need to hire qualified people. I've gone to Top Nails on and off for years - sometimes good, sometimes not, but my recent visit was by far the worst. My manicure with Daniel was terrible. He cut and filed my nails way too short without asking, shaped them unevenly between hands, and filed so aggressively my nails hurt for three days. His grumpy attitude made it worse- I tried to be kind and he just gave me attitude back and couldn't wait to leave. When I told the front desk I wasn't happy, they looked at it and made a face agreeing it looked bad and said "sorry" but did nothing to make it right. The photo is how badly the nails also chipped off when gel is supposed to last two weeks-- this was after a week. How he did it all so poorly I'll never understand. I've since learned other people have had bad experiences with him too. There are a few talented techs here, but the inconsistency and lack of care from management means I won't be returning nor will my daughter. read more

Given the positive reputation of your business, I was surprised by the poor quality of service. During my pedicure, the technician was frequently on his phone or texting throughout the treatment which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the technician who performed my manicure did a very sloppy job, failing to cover several nails entirely. My skin is currently tinted blue around my toes, and many of my nails were flooded at the cuticle, which makes me concerned that the polish will not last. The service at the front desk was unsatisfactory as well. I experienced issues while attempting to pay via Zelle and repeatedly asked for assistance. Rather than helping me resolve the matter, the staff ignored my requests and continued to serve other customers around me. I had a great experience at Top Nails Spa & Waxing ! I was immediately greeted warmly upon entering and asked about what I would like. When I mentioned I just wanted a Manicure, I was then seated promptly at a small table, that was ready and waiting for a technician. My nail tech, Jenny, was sweet, kind, and conversational. She then proceeded to ask how I would like my nail length. She made quick work of my nails, massaging my hands, then added a quick clear coat. The owner Kenny, was also nice, considerate, and professional, while keeping an eye one his entire shop ! The shop, itself, is wide, busy, and buzzing with high energy ! I went to Top Nails for the first time yesterday. I called in the morning and was able to make a same day appointment. I was very nervous about going because you never know what you're going to get at a new place. The parking is a bit of a challenge because it's a very busy shopping plaza. I was able to get a spot as someone was just leaving. Walking into Top Nails, it is a very busy business but everyone was happy, so that's a good sign. My tech was a bit late, but Steve came to file off my nail color and prepped my nails, apologizing for them running late. I didn't mind, but his concern was appreciated. My appointment was with BinZ who was very friendly. I needed a bio gel fill, and he really impressed me! He was very thorough, and did a TERRIFIC job! I booked another appointment with him for 2 weeks later. He will definitely be my go-to person! My only negative experience was when I went to pay. There were at least 3 girls behind the counter doing their accounting for the day. Not one of them addressed me or offered to assist me after I gave them my charge ticket. (Note: They take cash, check or Zelle only since they don't have card reader.) Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure how to proceed but soon figured out that I could use their tel# or QR code to Zelle them. Overall, the staff is very friendly. Being Asian I'm ok with bad customer service usually but this was just over the top complaining, rushing, and unprofessional. i've been coming to this nail salon for over 10 years. i started coming here when i was around 13 years old, and i'm 24 now. this was the first nail salon i ever went to, so writing this review honestly makes me sad. over the years i've watched the salon grow, which is great, but unfortunately the quality of the service has gone in the opposite direction. every visit has felt more rushed than the last. what used to feel like a relaxing self-care experience now feels like they're trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. i've read reviews over the last couple of years saying the salon has gone downhill, but i kept giving it another chance because of how long i've been coming here. after my most recent visit, i've finally accepted that it's time to find a new salon. my previous visit was already disappointing. my nail tech kept using her phone while working on my feet, going back and forth between touching her phone and touching me, which felt very unsanitary. she was also having full phone conversations during my appointment. the "massage" was basically just rubbing lotion on long enough to spread it around. while she at least didn't rush me quite as much, it still wasn't a relaxing experience. unfortunately, this last visit was even worse. i arrived around 7:00 p.m. and they close at 8:00 p.m. i completely understand that it's close to closing time. however, i've come around this time before, and i've even seen people accepted later than that. i also know their pedicures rarely take a full hour anymore, so i didn't think i was asking for anything unreasonable. i was seated around 7:15 and was completely finished by about 7:40. within those 30 minutes: * my gel polish was removed very quickly and carelessly. * my toenails were clipped, but my cuticles weren't touched at all. * there was confusion about regular polish versus gel, and i ended up just going with gel. * i paid for callus removal, but the solution was put on one foot and immediately scraped off before it even had time to work. * instead of using the electric file they usually use (which is one of the reasons i've always preferred this salon), she only used the metal cheese grater. * my feet barely soaked. at one point she told me to put my feet back in the tub, but there wasn't even any water in it. instead, she sprayed my feet with cold water using the hose. * before i knew it, she was already applying polish because the service was basically over. * the "hot towels" were placed on my legs for less than a minute. the entire appointment felt like she couldn't wait for me to leave. what really disappointed me was the interaction afterward. i asked if i could zelle her tip and asked for her name so i could save her as a contact. instead of simply telling me, she hesitated and asked, "doesn't it say there?" it honestly made me feel like she thought i was asking so i could leave a bad review. despite being unhappy with the service, i still tipped $5 because i've worked in the beauty industry before, and i know how important tips can be. when the payment was sent, she asked me to wait until it came through and then said, "oh, this is you? the $5 tip?" there wasn't even a thank you afterward. i understand everyone has bad days, and i understand wanting to get home at the end of a shift. my disappointment isn't based on one bad appointment. it's based on watching the quality decline over several years. after more than a decade of loyalty, i've decided this was my last visit. i'd rather pay more somewhere else and receive a quality service than continue paying for something that feels rushed and incomplete. a pedicure should feel relaxing, not like you're being hurried out the door. if you're just looking for the cheapest, fastest pedicure possible, this salon may work for you. but if you're looking for quality, attention to detail, and an actual self-care experience, i personally can no longer recommend it. read more

Came here for the first time and I was pleased with the service. I made an appointment a couple hours before we wanted to be seen. Some salons take a while to seat you when you make an appointment but with my experience here, that didn't happen. I assume Steve, the owner seated us right away. He seemed to have nice relationships with his clients which is nice to see! I had a pedicure and my cousin got bio gel! We were pleased with the results of our treatments! Sleek and minimal imperfections. I was amazed how big it was inside! Lots of seats, lots of manicurists, and colorful! The only mishap for me was when they trimmed my cuticles I got a little infection and a tiny bit of pus on my left big toe. Nothing crazy but just wanted to bring attention to it! I've been getting my nails done for years, but after what happened the other day, I'll never be coming back. Brandon was doing my nails, and honestly, he wasn't doing a great job. But what really made me uncomfortable was when, as he was rubbing lotion into my hands, he said "I wish I could rub lotion all over your body." I was in complete shock and didn't know how to react. I was so disturbed and uncomfortable that I didn't say anything at the time. I just paid and left. Looking back, I wish I had said something, This is obviously a sick individual and it makes me so upset knowing this could have been prevented. I want to start out by saying I always want to give people/places the benefit of the doubt and don't leave a negative review lightly. Maybe they were having an off day, but I got a manicure and pedicure here in November and have been meaning to leave a review, as it was one of, if not the worst experience I've ever had. The real issue was with my manicure - I got gel x and a few minutes into the appt., the man doing my nails cut off a large chunk near the tip of my finger on two fingers. I understand accidents happen and have had my cuticles/fingers cut before, but not like this. He kept wiping off the blood and putting antiseptic on it, and even said "you're making me nervous", since my fingers wouldn't stop bleeding. He was very apologetic which I appreciate, but I feel as though it was an easy mistake to avoid if he hadn't been rushing - it wasn't even dead skin he had cut, just part of my finger. Fast forward to the next day, and one of my nails pops off completely, which has also never happened to me in the years I've been getting acrylic, gel, gel x, etc. I called to ask if they could fix it and they told me I could come in anytime. When I showed up, nobody apologized and I was directed to a woman who redid the missing nail and didn't say one word to me the entire time. She simply looked at me and said "ok" and I took that as my cue to leave. I have had countless manicures/pedicures over the years and had taken a break, so this was supposed to really be a treat. This was not the experience I want for spending over $100 on both a manicure and pedicure, and I also feel like they could've offered me a discount or really anything to try and remedy the situation. I love the fact they have receptionists, a manager on duty who walks around to make sure you're doing good and everything is running smoothly, workers who do good quality work, people who clean up and keep things organized - I could go on and on. The other important thing to me is that my acrylics actually STAY ON. I am one who always picks at them and they will chip and start lifting. So I told them that when I first booked an apt and they said they would put me with Chloe.
