I went to Top Nails for the first time yesterday. I called in the morning and was able to make a same day appointment. I was very nervous about going because you never know what you're going to get at a new place. The parking is a bit of a challenge because it's a very busy shopping plaza. I was able to get a spot as someone was just leaving. Walking into Top Nails, it is a very busy business but everyone was happy, so that's a good sign. My tech was a bit late, but Steve came to file off my nail color and prepped my nails, apologizing for them running late. I didn't mind, but his concern was appreciated. My appointment was with BinZ who was very friendly. I needed a bio gel fill, and he really impressed me! He was very thorough, and did a TERRIFIC job! I booked another appointment with him for 2 weeks later. He will definitely be my go-to person! My only negative experience was when I went to pay. There were at least 3 girls behind the counter doing their accounting for the day. Not one of them addressed me or offered to assist me after I gave them my charge ticket. (Note: They take cash, check or Zelle only since they don't have card reader.) Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure how to proceed but soon figured out that I could use their tel# or QR code to Zelle them. Overall, the staff is very friendly. Given the positive reputation of your business, I was surprised by the poor quality of service. During my pedicure, the technician was frequently on his phone or texting throughout the treatment which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the technician who performed my manicure did a very sloppy job, failing to cover several nails entirely. My skin is currently tinted blue around my toes, and many of my nails were flooded at the cuticle, which makes me concerned that the polish will not last. The service at the front desk was unsatisfactory as well. I experienced issues while attempting to pay via Zelle and repeatedly asked for assistance. Rather than helping me resolve the matter, the staff ignored my requests and continued to serve other customers around me. I was getting married last Friday and stopped by Top Nails on my way from LA to the venue in Camarillo to get my nails done prior to my rehearsal walkthrough. I came in and was quickly and politely greeted. After explaining what I wanted I was given a place to sit. It didn't take long before Kevin came to sit down across from me to work on my nails. I showed him the inspo image of what I wanted and he got to work. I've never had a design where an airbrush machine had to be used so I was very intrigued by what he was doing. After about 40ish minutes my nails were done and looked beautiful! I thought Kevin did a great job. My nails can grow long, but I rarely get them done. Even though I was getting them done for the wedding it felt nice to treat myself and have a moment of quiet to myself before the hectic wedding weekend began. Finally, I appreciated how easy payment was. I could pay via Zelle on my phone as one of the options. It's nice not having to worry about pulling out a card or cash to pay / tip for services and possibly risk damaging a nail. Would go back if I am ever in the area again. read more

Updated review - been going here for a couple of months now and was given a new nail tech since I wanted french design on my hands. Unfortunately 2 nails chipped within 3 days - I was going to get it fixed, which they were willing to do, but ended up not having time (so that was my fault). But then after a week 3 more nails chipped/broke (picture) so a total of 5 nails have chipped within a week. The nail tech I was with was not friendly which didn't help my experience either. And I think I was overcharged by $5 - not a big deal but ended up making the nail tech less trustworthy. I did not realize the overcharge until I looked at the menu and saw that French tip was only supposed to be an extra $10 rather than $15 (which was what I was charged). I will be coming back but will be going back to my original nail tech whose nails lasted more than 3+ weeks with no chips or issues! read more

Bad Experience Here - Won't Be Back As a business owner I hate leaving bad reviews because I know it's not the owner's fault but in this case it is because you need to hire qualified people. I've gone to Top Nails on and off for years - sometimes good, sometimes not, but my recent visit was by far the worst. My manicure with Daniel was terrible. He cut and filed my nails way too short without asking, shaped them unevenly between hands, and filed so aggressively my nails hurt for three days. His grumpy attitude made it worse- I tried to be kind and he just gave me attitude back and couldn't wait to leave. When I told the front desk I wasn't happy, they looked at it and made a face agreeing it looked bad and said "sorry" but did nothing to make it right. The photo is how badly the nails also chipped off when gel is supposed to last two weeks-- this was after a week. How he did it all so poorly I'll never understand. I've since learned other people have had bad experiences with him too. There are a few talented techs here, but the inconsistency and lack of care from management means I won't be returning nor will my daughter. read more

Some salons take a while to seat you when you make an appointment but with my experience here, that didn't happen. I assume Steve, the owner seated us right away. The first time my nails were just a little bumpy and I let it go. I've been getting my nails done for years, but after what happened the other day, I'll never be coming back. Brandon was doing my nails, and honestly, he wasn't doing a great job. But what really made me uncomfortable was when, as he was rubbing lotion into my hands, he said "I wish I could rub lotion all over your body." I was in complete shock and didn't know how to react. I was so disturbed and uncomfortable that I didn't say anything at the time. I just paid and left. Looking back, I wish I had said something, This is obviously a sick individual and it makes me so upset knowing this could have been prevented. I want to start out by saying I always want to give people/places the benefit of the doubt and don't leave a negative review lightly. Maybe they were having an off day, but I got a manicure and pedicure here in November and have been meaning to leave a review, as it was one of, if not the worst experience I've ever had. The real issue was with my manicure - I got gel x and a few minutes into the appt., the man doing my nails cut off a large chunk near the tip of my finger on two fingers. I understand accidents happen and have had my cuticles/fingers cut before, but not like this. He kept wiping off the blood and putting antiseptic on it, and even said "you're making me nervous", since my fingers wouldn't stop bleeding. He was very apologetic which I appreciate, but I feel as though it was an easy mistake to avoid if he hadn't been rushing - it wasn't even dead skin he had cut, just part of my finger. Fast forward to the next day, and one of my nails pops off completely, which has also never happened to me in the years I've been getting acrylic, gel, gel x, etc. I called to ask if they could fix it and they told me I could come in anytime. When I showed up, nobody apologized and I was directed to a woman who redid the missing nail and didn't say one word to me the entire time. She simply looked at me and said "ok" and I took that as my cue to leave. I have had countless manicures/pedicures over the years and had taken a break, so this was supposed to really be a treat. This was not the experience I want for spending over $100 on both a manicure and pedicure, and I also feel like they could've offered me a discount or really anything to try and remedy the situation. I don't know how this business has so many good reviews -- perhaps from people who have a "regular" technician or get full nails, gel, etc. I have been here two or three times and have never been impressed. This last time convinced me that I should not return. Though I only had a regular manicure (pretty basic -- hard to mess up), the technician managed to ruin my nails (all I needed was a basic manicure -- no gel, no tips, nothing; perhaps that was the problem). She cut some nails, made some square and some round; no consistency. I asked her to make them square. She also cut my finger with the equipment, which still hurts. I didn't complain. Finally, she piled on layers of nail polish (which I had suggested against as I knew they would chip and come off easily). A day later, they were a mess. (FYI I took these pictures today before going to get them done at a different place. My appointment was @ 6 PM on 1/6/26). I've been here more than a few times and I got gel mani/pedis. I prefer it to other places I've been. Most of the time they do a decent job. I like that they always have time to fit me in (even if I only call 30min-1hr in advance). Good customer service; all of the staff have been polite. I always get different staff since I haven't found someone I felt like asking for again. But last time I walked out with the lengths of the nails looking significantly different between hands. My nails on my left hand were much shorter, but I didn't realize before leaving because I didn't think to compare sizes; I only checked for flaws individually as I switched putting them under the light. Usually I will notice a slight issue or two like texture/ air bubbles/ debris in the gel, the shape; which I always point out if I see it while they're doing my nails. Usually if I notice something after I leave it's not a big deal; it's only something you can see up close. But this kind of pissed me off especially since I saw my nail tech measuring each nail against the other hand's (e.g. comparing the left and right thumbs to see if the nail lengths match). I typically ask them to not cut, keep the length, and only file, but last time they must have suggested cutting them so I don't break them if they're too long. I had to get someone else to get photos of both my hands. read more
