We sought services to remove 40 year old mylar from our living room interior windows after originally thinking it might be a DIY project. The top layer of mylar was easy to remove by ourselves, but when we got to the residual adhesive left behind, we realized we were in over our heads. Our windows and screens were filthy, not surprising since it had been 6 years since they were last cleaned. Somehow it wasn't a high priority, given all that's been going on the past few years. Then a few days ago it was as if I was seeing the cobwebs and schmutz for the first time. Renzo, who had cleaned them 6 years ago, has retired. LightStream, which has cleared the leaves and detritus off our roof several years running, also cleans windows, so I wrote Andy an email asking to get on the schedule. I figured it would take a week or two and Andy confirmed that in his response. Then yesterday afternoon he called to say that they could do them this morning. I told him it took me a while to get going because I sleep late and do my exercises, etc. He said they would be here between 8:30 and 9:00 and could start outside so by the time I was finished w/ my morning routine they could work inside. They arrived about 9:00 this morning and went to work. By the time I was ready to put my shoes on they looked like they were ready to come inside. Mario carefully put protective covers on his shoes before coming in. He and his helper started upstairs and then came downstairs. I had removed the decorative items from a display shelf in the dining room, but that seems like it was unnecessary, as they carefully moved the rest of the art glass and other objects on the windowsills in the bedrooms and living room and kitchen. They were extremely careful and used minimal water. They even cleaned the skylights, I'm not sure which makes me happier, the clean windows or the screens. Wish I could give them 10 stars, instead of 5. Compared to other companies in the area their prices are MORE the fair, service excellent and highly responsive. Not only were they able to schedule me within a few days of my inquiry (during the horrible rainstorms when demand for their services was at an all time high) but their price was extremely competitive. Not only will I be using them to clean my gutters on a regular basis but when the sunshine comes I will hire them to clean my windows. I discovered Lightstream being an unhappy customer of Sunshine Gutters in Berkeley. I had used Sunshine in 2016 to install my gutters but when I called them this year to clean my gutters, it was if a different owner had taken over the business. (See pic that we added to this page...yes, I went out in the downpour to check because I couldn't believe how hard it was coming down.) If you're on the go, like we are, it's also nice that Andy will communicate/respond to text messages; I just find it's faster and more efficient to communicate this way once appts are scheduled etc. So appreciate that. They also did our solar panels - yes, they just got wet the next day, but even a hard rain won't take off accumulated dust etc (think of your review car window after rains and before it gets wiped...it doesn't get clean just by water running on it). read more

Finally, a workman recommended them to me. I called and asked if they could do a gutter clean that day and said that I would be more than willing to pay an extra fee for the last minute work. Lightstream Home Services did a wonderful job cleaning my house's gutters. We live beneath a neighbor's very messy redwood trees. After I received a call back from Andy, they came out the same day. Like acrobats, Lightstream's workers climbed up on the roof with ladders, blew everything off the roof and out of the gutters. This is my first Yelp review, but I am so pleased with the job that Nathan and his associate did that I felt I owed it to them to write (I'm so sorry, I'm really bad at remembering names). Nathan was very prompt responding to my email, made a set time appointment and arrived right on time. The guys were both pleasant, totally professional in manner, organized, efficient and very focused. We have a sloped lot, with bushes and uneven ground under some of the windows which made their work difficult - plus it was the hottest day of the year and we have a southern exposure. Despite all that, they did a great job: cleaner windows than I've ever achieved and no streaks! The price seemed very reasonable for the job. I will definitely be calling them in the future!
