I stumbled upon this place as I was walking around after the movies and needed a snack before a birthday dinner that was happening in a few hours. I tried their beef patties as I didn't know what it was. It's like a hot pocket/ empanada. It was good, flavorful, the meat had lots of spices and a good size. The first time I stumbled upon Likkle More Jerk, I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem amongst the sprawling selections in the Dekalb Market Hall. I was desperate to find something quick, inexpensive and edible at the time, and their flaky, flavorful and sufficiently portioned chicken patties fit that request perfectly. Today, I treated myself to the curry chicken roti, and I'm pretty sure I looked like something out of Animal Planet as I devoured the entire thing without hesitation (or shame). While waiting for my order, a woman was singing the praises of their "jerkito" (jerk burrito, natch), so that's next on my list. I was in the mall and decided to try the food court. I've never tried the food there and I have been craving for some jerk pork, so I decided to give here a try. I ordered the jerk pork w/waffles. The Waffles were sooooo delicious! I did enjoy the jerk pork as well, but I wish it was more spicy. I love all things jerk, so thats what I needed. I ordered the jerk fish burrito a few times for delivery and I thought it was good. My husband tried the curry chicken and it was way too salty but I was happy with the fish burrito. I ordered again for delivery on a Monday and the burrito showed up with 5 large pieces of fish, it usually comes with 1 piece. I guess they were getting rid of the fish from the weekend but it was so disgusting to see that much fish. I tried the veggie patty after that in person and found it to be salty and something you can buy from the supermarket, it def wasn't home made and the worker was so rude! Such a delicious place to visit in dekalb market! Everything is expensive AF in there, so when I went up to the stand and asked about the amount of food included in the $11 platter, the woman at the register told me that I would be very full and have leftovers. It was noon and I was still in my brunch mood, so I decided to get the jerk chicken with waffles. The waffles are made to order, sweet with a nice touch of powdered sugar and fresh cut strawberries on top, with syrup on the side. The jerk chicken was fresh, hot, and juicy! While you shouldn't go there expecting the smoky, grilled heaven you can get on flatbush or the islands, this was a great taste on the classic. I've been here plenty of times and I usually just get the beef patty and coco bread. But this time I decided to get the oxtail with white rice which does come with cabbage and carrot. Now the portion size is ok and everything tasted good especially the gravy. I enjoyed the flavors of the burrito but it was two big and sloppy to actually eat as a burrito. Although it was big I wouldn't say that portions are overwhelming. Certaining enough to fill u for lunch but will definitely need food later in the day. I wish chips are something that came with it. I like the use of the roti as the wrap but I would have preferred to order the roti on the side with the chicken and rice on the side. The jerk had a bit of spice but not enough to scare anyone away. Rice and peas were classic and on the bottom had soaked up some of the jerk and tasted great. Sooooo...I'm a tourist and I've only visited New York once! So this go round, I'm staying in Brooklyn and ventured to the DeKalb eatery, it's at the Fulton street mall. I walked around and around and saw this place. Someone else had placed an order, a burrito, and it looked really good. I go to the counter and I ask the guy what that item specifically was. He said a Jerkito Burrito. It comes with chicken or fish. Knowing that jerk anything tends to be spicy, I asked how spicy was it. He had an attitude and said it wasn't really spicy. What's not really spicy? My wife can't take a lot of heat, so we needed to know. He answered again saying about a six. Ummm that's a little more than "not really spicy". I ordered the chicken burrito. It took what seemed like forever. When he called my ticket number. It was already wrapped in a paper bag. My fault for not checking, but the order wasn't my burrito. When I went back to tell him, a lady said, "I told him". Then she gave me my burrito. I sat down and it was cold. So disappointed. I didn't even feel like going back. The staff were super warm and friendly, the lady who handed the food to me joked about me being able to handle the heat from the pepper but to be careful. Pepper was a nice heat and good flavour. I see why this place is called Likkle More because I certainly wanted a Likkle More Oxtails lol yes, the Oxtails is on point, good thing they offer side options just in case we don't want the whole meal and want to taste, I have had their Pattie's and they are really good too, the Curry Goat is Ok, definitely over seasoned. I been to a couple jerk chicken spots and I gotta say this is the real deal. The jerk chicken is moist, smoky, spicy( just enough spice not too much), flavorful and well seasoned.
