Amazing flavor, perfect amount of kick, and reasonable prices. We lucked out and was there right when a fresh batch came out, and they are cooked just right. Tails came right out and there was a good amount of juice in the heads. Maybe it's the beginning of the season though, but they were tiny. Lots of dead mushy ones too. We also got some shrimp which were flavorful but overcooked. Don't bother with the potatoes. They have no seasoning and taste like the cleaner that was used to clean the pot. Overall a good stop for crawfish alone. I'd wait for later in the season for a better size though. read more

Found my new crawfish spot in Metry! The fixings could've sat in the pot a little longer.. especially the potatoes but the flavor is spot on! Hot enough to make your nose run but not too hot to make your lips burn! Just the way I like'em. Flavorful so they can be enjoyed!! Quick review: Crawfish were an 8/10. They were huge, salted well, but the flavor/seasoning profile lacked. I also couldn't find any juice in the heads, which was a bit devastating. The corn were perfect. Not mushy--cooked just right. Slightly sweet, slightly spiced. Potatoes were horrible. Very dry with little flavor. They were so dry they tasted like "un-buttered" biscuits. LOL. Overall, not a bad place to get seafood! They are one of the better spots in Metairie, if you ask me. read more

Wanted to try a new place, so I decided to go here in picky about my crawfish, I asked to try one just make sure I wanted to spend my money on a few pounds, the owner let me try one, I did not like the flavor so I proceeded to say thank you, & walk out, then the owner asked me so your not gonna buy any? I don't let people try any crawfish. I said I'm sorry I didn't like the flavor, then he waved me to get out so I started walking out because he was clearly very hostile & upset! The staff are helpful... The hours are good & long enough for me to get some mudbugs after I get off my 5p job... The mudbugs were SOOOOO JUICY & seasoned to perfection until I found myself almost biting my fingers as these crawfish were sooo good & juicy, til I only stopped because I ran out. If you are looking to boil seafood, you got to try their bag of seasoning mix. It is salt, Maryland crab seasoning and Chinese red pepper. The pepper is hot on your lips to start but doesn't get hotter. It starts off with a bang and holds that heat. They will also custom make if you want less salt or more pepper - just ask them. There are many places to buy excellent crawfish and Lil Kats definitely hits it out of the park! I have bought hot seafood from Kats many times but this particular time I saw a sign for cold crawfish a day old but also a dollar cheaper. I decided to buy some and warm them myself without overcooking them and they were fantastic just like the newly boiled ones. I am the self proclaimed 'Crawfish Queen' of our household, just ask Matt. I have a serious addiction to these little mudbugs and as a result I've tried just about every place that sells boiled crawfish within a 5 mile radius of our home. I've got to give it to the guys who run this business, hence the 5 stars!, because they're serving up some of the most flavorful, well seasoned and largest crawfish in the area and quite possibly in the entire city of New Orleans! I have several places I've visited in the past when I'm in the mood for boiled crawfish, but since discovering Lil Kat's Seafood I have to admit I've all but abandoned them. Lil Kat's is located on W Metairie, in the same strip as Come Back Inn. I've been going to Come Back Inn going on eight years now, but have only discovered Lil Kat's within the past 6 months. All I think nowadays is WHY did it take me so long to try this hidden gem!?! I may never know the answer to that question- but I have seen the light that is Lil Kat's and it draws me in like a mosquito in the night every single time the word crawfish crosses my mind, which to be completely honest is pretty much every other day. Like Teneha B. said, I now try to find any excuse to sneak over here to grab a few pounds of their amazing crawfish! However a word to the wise- if it's a holiday weekend you may want to do some planning in advance because they have been known to run out of crawfish (boiled and live) towards the end of the day. I've never had an issue when I stop by around lunch time, but I stopped by last weekend around 5pm to grab a few pounds for dinner and they had already run out and another small batch wouldn't be ready for another hour. I damn near lost it, and wandered around aimlessly like a drifter- because like I said before, I have all but abandoned my previous crawfish suppliers. No one's boiling them like Lil Kat's! So instead of getting boiled crawfish from somewhere else only to be extremely disappointed, I just opted for something else entirely and went for Dungeness crab which worked out quite nicely. Needless to say that as I write this review, I have yet to get my weekly crawfish fix so I will certainly be making up for that this coming weekend! Lil Kat's is DEFINITELY worth the trip from wherever you are coming from, be it Baton Rouge or the West Bank. I will advise that they don't have anywhere for you to sit and eat inside/or outside of the restaurant, so plan accordingly. If you don't live nearby, maybe bring a big blanket and head out to Lafreniere Park for a picnic. No matter where you decide to eat them, just get on over there and try them! read more

Best cooked crawfish in the Metairie area. Scratch that beast crawfish In southern Louisiana. Every time i show uo the crawfish are steaming but still soak long enought to taste amazing. For the price they charge for the 10# special plus the perfectly seasoned corn potatoes and the garlic man I don't have to boil my own ever again. However if you do boil your own his prices on live are unbeatable as well beats rouses price every time I called around. I came here to try their crawfish in the Spring. I was not very impressed, sadly. I wanted to like it since it is convenient and heard good things, but the crawfish were just not good. I had crawfish that must not have been purged properly because it had that fishy, gritty taste to some of them. They were not very big either and were over cooked. The prices were reasonable though and again the location is super convenient. Not sure if I will try them again since there are so many places to get crawfish in and around Metairie. read more

Not the cheapest boiled crawfish prices around but certainly very well seasoned crawfish. Not extremely spicy but also not mild. Not too salty but a good amount of salt as well. I'll be back for more before the season ends for sure. read more

Lil Kats is just a stone's throw my house, and their seafood is absolutely delicious! The crawfish are seasoned perfectly, and I love the crabs when they can get them! I always call early afternoon and if they have crabs, then I reserve mine to pick up after work. I get my shrimp from here also, as my wife only eats fish and shrimp. I'll boil or fry a couple of pounds for her to use in her salads. read more

Tried to find boiled crabs the other day. Everyone I called either didn't have them or only had smalls. I was on my way out to Kenna when I remembered about this place on W Metairie. The guy who answered the phone was very nice and said that he only had smalls but that they were delicious and from that day. I decided to give them a try. The place is pretty barren on the inside. And by this, I don't expect luxury from a seafood market but this looked like a guy on the side of the road selling shrimp out of an Igloo. There was a freezer compartment with frozen seafood and then some shrimp and crawfish. I decided to try their boiled crawfish as well as a half-dozen boiled crabs. The verdict: both the crabs and crawfish were SALTY. So salty that I felt like I needed to be purged myself after eating the seafood. I couldn't even finish the tiny half-dozen crabs I purchased because of the seasonings and salt. It was that type of seasoning that gets into your bloodstream and you can taste for hours afterwards. And not in a good way. Unfortunately there are much better seafood markets in the New Orleans area. read more

Got crawfish today and they were not only a re-boil but they were just flat out nasty. They were mushy, oily, just bad bad crawfish. Service was pretty weird, the owners son I'm assuming looked and acted like he had been on a 3 day banger of bad cocaine and cheap liquor, just overall disappointed and won't go back. read more

Had to have some crawfish the other day and had several people tell me to try Lil Kats Seafood. I figured we'd give 'em a shot, and boy am I'm sorry we did. Every dang one of those crawfish was loaded with dirt. If I had wanted to eat sand, I could have saved myself the price of the crawfish and just gone outside and licked my driveway. Absolutely horrid! I don't think they even bothered to rinse them. I have eaten one hell of a lot of crawfish in my 61 years and these by far were some of the worst.
