There were a decent amount of big crawfish, but my husbands batch was very hit and miss, many were very small and limp, unable to eat about a third of them. Big tables, lots of space. STRAIGHT TRASH‼‼ First customer service was absolutely awful. We were a party of nine. Only 3 waiters and 2of3 did not want to seat us. I guess we were too much work for them. After 5ppl they charge you a gratuity fee. Which that's fine, but at least work for the gratuity fee. I feel like waiters that get gratuity feel as though they don't have to work because they have already gotten my tip. Also they charge you $15 if you bring a cake into their establishment. Also I DID not like how they treated a group of "black" young men that came into the restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting.i hate swai fish. My friends and I went here on a Monday afternoon. We were a party of eight but everything went very smoothly. We got a bunch of appetizers: calamari wings, garlic, fries, and garlic noodles, and they were all great though the garlic noodles were probably my least favorite. Crawfish wise, we ended up getting 5 pounds of the Viet Cajun and 5 pounds of the EZ blend along with sides of corn, sausage and potatoes. Everything was great and had a lot of flavor, and we were pretty surprised by the size of the crawfish. I really enjoyed both flavors though if I had to pick, I would say the Viet Cajun was better and had more flavor. My table had four of us and we weren't able to finish everything. 12/10. We are so happy that we stumbled upon Big EZ on Instagram. I was so excited to try the Viet Cajun crawfish. We landed at MSY and took the bus to eat here, and we were not disappointed. The flavor of the crawfish was outstanding, they don't skimp on the spice and the prices are phenomenal. We paid 6.50/lb and got 4 lbs of crawfish - one was Louisiana style and the other was Viet Cajun. We happened to land right around happy hour time and tried a few happy hour dishes - oysters were huge. garlic noodles were amazing. I cannot recommend Big EZ enough. The staff was super friendly and informative, and the restaurant was huge. There's ample parking spots in case you rent a car and want to drive here on your way into the city. I've been a long time customer of Big EZ when they only had the Gretna location. Their Viet Cajun seafood blends have really been a game changer - very unique and super tasty. There are several big screen tvs around the restaurant, giving sports bar vibes. We ordered the EZ Blend crawfish, crab legs, potatoes, corn, eggs, and charbroiled Dungeness crabs (not pictured). The waitress accidentally ordered the charbroiled blue crabs. Everything was a 10/10 except the eggs - they had a weird texture, seemed fake or simply overly boiled. The star of the show, though, were the blue crabs. They were perfectly grilled, well seasoned, and meaty. This will easily become your go to seafood spot. read more

Went in here recently after work around 6pm expecting a busy scene but instead came into an empty restaurant. I had heard good things from coworkers about the place so I was confused about why it was empty. Ordered a shrimp salad and I was impressed. Lots of big shrimp included in the salad and it was huge! Last stop before we head in for the airport. We timed it for their Happy Hour but end up getting something not from their Happy Hour menu with no regrets. We had their Chargrilled Lobsters which came with garlic noodles. We were told that it'll be 20 minute cook time and that is fine with us. We had plenty of time to kill before hopping on Lyft to the airport. The lobster was sweet, garlicky and just the right it texture. It was caught fresh from their aquarium full of lobsters. We got in to town and decided we needed a drink and a few appetizers. They have specials from2:30-5:00 so we hung out for a few minutes and ordered. The inside is so colorful and fun! Quintessential NOLA! Each room has a different theme. LSU, Crawfish, Saints, Crab room! So fun! We had Fireball shrimp, boudin balls and charbroiled oysters! All were exceptional! We're trying to squeeze in some more happy hour deals on our way to the airport. We somehow ended up getting a different meal from the menu. Started off with Crawfish Etouffe and calamari. Calamari were just ok but the Etouffe is pretty good and flavorful. For our main, we shared a Charbroiled Lobster served with garlic noodles, French bread and dipping butter. This plate was the main show, the lobster meat were sweet and tender. It was cooked perfectly topped with a garlicky sauce. Service was friendly and the place was bright and very welcoming. All of the food tasted delicious! Our server Erin was really nice and informative about our order. Not to mention, the decorum looked beautiful with wall paintings of everything that represents Louisiana (seafood, LSU & Saints football, & homages to Vietnamese fishermen who work on boats at Empire). We ordered their "Pick 3" Boiled Seafood Basket option with Crawfish, Snow Crabs, Mussels, Boiled Eggs, Sausage, & Potatoes. The "Pick 3" option gave us an extra 1 lbs of crawfish. For the basket, we went with the Cajun Citrus option, which added a nice tangy taste to the basket! The only issue I really had was that they didn't put the price on the menu beforehand, so I was a bit shocked to find out that the entire basket costed $84.00. I didn't mind paying for it, but I wished they would've let us know how much it costed before we ordered it. Although it tasted really good, I also feel like they should've added a bit more seafood in the basket since it was $84.00, but that's just me personally. We also got additional side plates, such as their famous Garlic Noodles ($5.99), Garlic Fries ($4.99), & Bread Pudding for dessert ($8.50). In contrast to the seafood basket, these plates had the price on the menu beforehand and were definitely worth the price in my opinion. The garlic noodles weren't too salty and had the right amount of flavor to it! So did the garlic fries. The bread pudding was fried to perfection and was perfectly topped off with vanilla ice cream at the top. If it wasn't for the overpriced seafood basket, I would've given this review 5 stars. We have a winner. I showed up to just have a happy hour drink and ended up ordering 2 pounds of crawfish and a pound of shrimp boiled in Saigon's Vietnamese broth with garlic noodles on the side. Very helpful server guided me to the best fresh seafood possible, and then smiled and offered me gloves. The gloves were needed. This particular combination ended up being the best seafood boil I have ever had. Also, bonus points for being clean and nice and a great ambience. I usually like to support locally owned businesses but I also like to spread the word for my fellow foodies... My husband and I ordered the catfish.. I got catfish on bun and he got catfish poboy. I asked for the special sauce on the side and the server said they charge extra for the sauce on the side. I asked "doesn't it come on it anyways?" and she said yes. I should've known then that something was up. She ended up giving us the side of sauce for free and said she understood the reasoning. She explained to us that if you order gumbo and ask for the rice on the side it's an upcharge for the rice as well. Ooook. Now for the sandwich.... I've got to say it was theee worst catfish on bun I've ever had. The catfish was thin (and they put TWO fillets on the sandwich believe it or not) and mushy... it had the consistency of eggs. And honestly I thought I was eating an egg sandwich because the catfish had zero flavor. We spoke to the server and another worker about it and they explained it was a new local distributor but they couldn't confirm what type of fish it actually was. I don't know if the fish was that swai stuff or tilapia or what it was it's still a mystery, but it definitely wasn't catfish... for all my Nola folks we know what actual catfish tastes like. Needless to say we won't ever be back. Oh p.s. they charge extra for fries so the total order with 2 sandwiches, waters, and one order of fries was over $20. I could get that same order with fries included for half that price at my regular spot. It's not overly spicy and it has a lot of shrimp in it. I have also had the chicken and sausage gumbo also but I rather the seafood. I'm from California and my husband is from louisiana and we are huge foodies - this place blew every sea food place I've tried out of the water. The flavor packed into every bite was insane. Boiled to perfectionnnnn. And the sauces. The garlic butter sauce was so amazing and the cajun mayo sauce was also delicious. We also got the charbroiled oysters which were sooo amazing. What a GREAT find so close to the airport! Super clean and friendly staff inside that everything let's you know you're in cajun country. The service is great as everyone there seems to make sure you are well taken care of. The place is big and plenty of room to spread out and eat. There are tons of TVs to watch your favorite sporting events. Lastly, the food there is fantastic! They serve grilled cheese with their gumbo or crawfish étouffée and that was my favorite part of the meal. Plus, they make good grilled oysters and their seafood boils were the showstoppers. I landed in New Orleans and my first order of business was to have dinner. Thanks to Yelp I picked this restaurant before I left New York. Well this is really more of a Seafood Boil restaurant. I was hoping for something different but since I'm here I might as well go for it. In this case my waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Whatever you order you get garlic noodles or garlic French fries. I chose the noodles which were way more than I expected. U never had these and they were kind of like linguine with garlic and oil. Since I'm an Italian boy I definitely liked these. Next my meal or " Seafood Boil restaurant". I chose shrimp, of course, and king crab legs. Food was good, the recommended spice/ heat level was on point. The price, kind of made me choke but it's a business expense so it was on Uncle Sam, well 40% anyway. Came here with a couple of friends on Sunday for lunch. (They have a happy hour special on the weekdays) It was not busy at 11:30am but it got busier later after 12:30pm. The staff was nice but they could be more efficient on how they take our orders and they missed one of our orders and nearly messed up the orders at the start as well. In terms of the food, the seafood were really fresh and I enjoyed how big the shrimps were. Also the flavors were really good. I saw this one posted a few times and finally trying it. Seafood was fresh and they don't play around when they say spicy. It's a little pricey but it's worth it, especially from what I had today. They don't offer specials as good as other similar concepts when it comes to combining seafood but not too much of a deal breaker. Hubs said the oysters were absolutely delicious without the need for all the fancy stuff on it. Check their Facebook for specials (today oysters were half off!)
