I ordered a $90 bouquet for my uncle's funeral and of course I ordered from Chase's because I wanted the job done well. I got to the funeral home and I was so embarrassed. The bouquet I had ordered was so small. I couldn't even think about the service because I was thinking about how embarrassing this was. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful, but it was not even close to being a $90 bouquet (the base price without taxes and delivery). What they sent I could have gotten at Wegmans for $30 or less than that at Costco. I called immediately after the service. They were nice, but said that was the correct price and bouquet. They said the vase I chose couldn't hold anymore flowers than what it had in it or it would look silly. There were 3 size options for the arrangement I chose. I ordered the largest one. If a vase is not big enough, why would you even have that vase and arrangement available together? They gave me a 20% discount when I called. Still not worth $72!!!!! Lesson learned-no more Chase's and call the florist next time to make sure my arrangement will be sufficient.

We were very happy with our first purchases last Spring. So much so that we decided to make them…read moreour primary source for this year's hanging baskets. About a month ago we revisited them. We had saved last season's baskets because they complimented our exterior decor so well. Because of that we inquired as to whether we could reuse the baskets, and specify what flowers would be included in each arrangement. We were informed that we could do so on both counts. And, that we would be informed by phone when they were available for pickup. We heard nothing further. So, yesterday we called and inquired as to the status of our order. They informed us that the baskets were ready for us. So, we drove there, about a 25 minute drive from our home, late yesterday afternoon. Upon arrival we inquired of the female employee at the checkout counter about our baskets. At first she was unsure, but she inquired of the owner and ultimately the arrangements were located. However, only one basket (out of 5) contained the flowers we had requested. The employee checked the order records and no, the arrangements were not as ordered. So, they were returned to their workshop for correction. About ten to fifteen minutes later they were returned. But, when we went to pay for them we discovered that the price was about 20% higher than the previous year. When we inquired as to the reason we were told by two, of the approximately 14 year old, female employees (this is a Mennonite enterprise) that the increased cost was due to the reuse of our old baskets; that doing so made it "more work for them". We might have argued the point further with the female owner. However, she had left us to riding mow her lawn, while carrying her infant daughter on her lap. Needless to say, we probably will be buying our hanging baskets closer to home next year. Too bad.

They were both great plants, and the Brazilian Jewel is even starting to grow a flower spike. I have no words to express how much I love Marlow's orchids. They have top quality plants, a lot of them hard to find, and their customer service is fantastic. They are so friendly and polite, and they'll do anything they can for you. They'll even help you find a plant you want if they don't have it and you can't find it anywhere else. Thank you Marlow, you really are the best of the best. For anybody who has anything critical to say about Marlow's orchids... were you polite? Did you treat them with respect, rather than outrage? Did you politely suggest to them what you thought they should do to make things right, or did you respond with indignation, or did you just hope that they would offer some solution? People don't know what you want or what you expect until you tell them, and treating somebody like an old friend will go a long way in getting you the resolution you hope for.
