Very quaint shop with an amazing bakery and restaurant! E sat down in the dining area for breakfast. The staff greeted us and they were very helpful. I ordered the vegetable quiche. I think it was heated in the microwave because it was sooo hot. The crust was flaky and buttery, delicious! The only downside was some of it was on the hard side I am assuming from a microwave. Overall it was very good. My husband had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were the lightest fluffiest biscuit I've ever had! He thought that they exceptional but couldn't eat it all! I don't mind the use of a microwave except when it changes the quality of the food. read more

Stopped on our way to visit family in MO for a quick bite to eat. By far one of my favorite road trip stops. We had the meatloaf sandwich which was moist and juicy perfected by just the right amount of mayo and large fresh juicy slices of tomatoes. We had a side of chili which had great flavor but a little bit too watery for my taste and definitely not warm enough for me. On our way out we grabbed some apple butter and peach whiskey butter. And of course after eyeing the dessert we went with the carrot cake and 2 cookies because we couldn't decide. The carrot cake was moist and flavorful and crunchy and smooth frosting was perfection. By far the best carrot cake I've ever had. The cookies were snickerdoodle and blueberry lemon and white chocolate. read more

Imagine this.... Your best friend comes town from Reno, Nevada and dreams of checking Arkansas off her states list. Where does one go after an epic day in Branson, well to Lillie Hobbs of course!! We took a pink Jeep tour (which we adored) and since our amazing guide Mel knew everything there is to know, we had to know where the best AK place was within reasonable driving distance. Only one place was the clear winner. Mel told us about the delicious food, amazing people and epic shopping. We were thrilled to take a mini adventure to AK, boy were we spoiled ! We found many treasures and ordered delivery's food including a prime rib French dip with goat cheese, oh my worrrrrrrd !!!! We told the glorious ladies we wanted an amazing AK experience so they recommended the possum pie. We were told it was heaven in a cup...... and that was accurate!! We both bought amazing momentos including French bulldog bookends and a one of a kind jewelry box which hand made by an Arkansas women who lives without power and uses a foot saw. We had the best time at this gem of Arkansas, we love this date due to this super amazing place !! read more

Let me tell you, drive out of your way for this adorable GEM!! Traveling back from a visit to Branson a dear friend said "let's stop l love this place". l agreed and l am so glad we did it was spectacular and worth every dollar spent. The inside is just pristine, clean and so adorable to look at. There's clearly a lot of love invested in this restaurant and Mercantile because everything is just as cute as a bunny. From the minute, we walked into the restaurant employees behind the counter began asking us what can we get for you? Would you like to eat here or will you be doing takeout? They just wanted to be of help. We waited just a few minutes to get a table as the restaurant was clearly full and I understand why. The menu is just outstanding. I have pictures for you. I chose the pulled pork and my friend chose the grilled three cheeses. All sandwiches come with a side of chips included, or choose aside from the menu and an additional cost. I also ordered a side of the loaded mac & cheese. Now this is the only place where I diverge a bit because the chef added a bread topping on the Mac&Cheese and I think it takes away from the creamy goodness of the dish. But that's just my opinion and people were ordering it like crazy so you might be in love too. The desserts will rock your world. As you walk into the shop, the counters are just filled with fresh baked goodies of every imaginable kind. And off to the left was a cake tray with gorgeous beautiful cakes for sale and to order. My friend and I happen to be carrot cake fiends, if the carrot cake has a cream cheese frosting and let me tell you this one did. In fact, (I think one of the owners) said to me this is my grandmother's recipe. Well, all I can say is your grandmother got it right and knew what she was doing!!! The serving was extremely large more than enough for two people I gave up before my friend did. When you're done eating, make sure you visit the Mercantile on the other side of the shop. She has such unique gifts. I'm not going to tell you it's cheap because it isn't but the things were absolutely adorable and they look specifically hand chosen just for this restaurant Mercantile. Don't leave without going over there and having a look. On the outside of the shop are beautiful hand carved benches, birdfeeders, etc. that are so unique. I would have purchased one of the hand carved benches had I been able to transport it with me. It would definitely have gone home with me. They are handcarved absolutely beautiful with unique Bible verses on top. This restaurant is a gem please don't hesitate to try it. It made lunch a real delight. read more

This is a Great lunch spot and shopping adventure. My husband has the chicken salad sandwich, he said it was the best he's ever had. I had the daily special, a salmon patty sandwich, it had some amazing sauce on it. The desserts, Oh My, we were too full but got two to go, a mini keylime cheesecake and a strawberry cheesecake. We had them the next evening, we split both, Delicious!!! I highly recommend stopping in. The owner was working, she and the staff were really friendly. read more

Everyone here is the nicest! The staff is so awesome and friendly, it was a very refreshing experience in comparison to our dinner the night before. My fiancé ordered the meat quiche (he's never had quiche before) and now he's definitely a fan of that breakfast! He also got the cherry turnover which was absolutely out of this world delicious since I snagged a bite. I'm not huge on breakfast so I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and girrrrrrl it did not disappoint! It was so fresh and delicious. The only thing I would change is how much dill they put in the mix, but the grapes and pecans mixed in made it all better! I grew up in Harrison, and I thought I had found all of the good restaurants in the area. Imagine my surprise when a friend recommended this little restaurant and mercantile about six miles north of Harrison, in Omaha. I've driven past it many times, and just never bothered to stop - shame on me! We were cheerily greeted by the owner as soon as we walked in, and our attention was immediately captured by the case of incredible homemade baked goods where a queue of customers waited patiently to get their goodies. We came for brunch, so were seated in the cozy dining area. My sister and I both got the breakfast casserole with toast and homemade jelly. The breakfast casserole was hearty and delicious, and I wish I knew what kind of bread that was! I'm still kicking myself for not buying a jar of the strawberry and the Muscatine jelly, doggonnit. I'm also regretting not buying some of the gigantic cookies! We spent a fair amount of time afterwards enjoying the mercantile and the goods from the area artisans. Next time, I'll plan on doing some serious shopping there! I've seen several reviewers use the term " hidden gem", and that's an apt description. HIDDEN GEM ALERT! Lillie Hobbs is so unassuming and just off the highway in AR. I really never would have thought it'd be anything more than a simple diner. But is so much more! First off, their baked goods and sandwiches are incredible. Like seriously good and you can tell it's fresh and handmade. Second, the store itself has all kinds of goodies ranging from jewelry to art to knick knacks. Inside is cozy but also well done. Clean and very nice looking. Lastly, the staff is wonderful. They allowed us to use their parking lot all day as a home base for a commercial that we were shooting in the area. Very generous of them and fortunate for us. We passed this shop and actually turned around after I looked at their online menu and saw that they have gluten free options! Unfortunately it can be very difficult finding homemade food that I can eat with my gluten allergy. We had just come from a huge tourist trap town with hardly any GF options and one cupcake shop even offered me dog treats because that was their version of gluten free. Anyways, I ordered the prime rib French dip (with caramelized onions and goat cheese) on gluten free bread and the confetti potato salad, to go and it was all AMAZING!! When we're staying in Hollister, this is just a 20-30 minute drive straight down Hwy 65. Fun little shop, recently remodeled, with gifts and a nice deli and bakery. what a fantastic little find in an unexpected place. Pretty much not close to anything else. Just a perfect little roadside oasis. Combination of a lovely little gift shop and a spectacular scratch bakery and cafe. Dishes, linens, jewelry, clothes etc on the shop side. But the draw for us was the bakery. You walk up to two cases of delicious looking treats. One case is refrigerated and holds massive cake slices-carrot, etc-mini cream pie tarts, macaroons, plus other indulgences. The other side shows off mini pies, many gorgeous cookies, cupcakes, bars, and the piece de resistance, still warm if you are lucky, cinnamon rolls. The perfect size cinnamon rolls glow from a large pan and have a gooey sheen of frosting/glaze over the top. The personable young staffer informed me when I inquired about them that yes they were still warm. Seeing as this was a celebratory stop (visiting my fiftieth state) it seemed a fitting item to enjoy. Also chose two of the glorious looking cookies for the road-a Ponca Trail and a Lemon Blueberry. The roll was just exactly what anyone would dream of if they like cinnamon rolls. Sweet glaze atop moist perfectly cooked dough and rolled with just enough cinnamon to provide wonderful flavor. And the size is right to be shared by two baked goods lovers. Two steps above any Cinnabon you've ever had. Loved every bite. The two cookies were very good, the Ponca Trail being the standout. A combination of oats, chocolate, nuts, coconut (?), dried cranberries, etc. Outstanding. The Lemon Blueberry was similar to a moist sugar cookie with blueberries, white chocolate, and a light lemon flavor. It had the unfortunate issue of being compared to the other items we had today. Good but couldn't compare. The cafe menu serves breakfast and lunch and appears to be quite popular based on the crowd during our visit. Their motto here is the calories don't count if you're not in your own zip code. If you are anywhere within a two hour radius of this beacon of baking and hungry, do not hesitate to make your way here. read more

Not a lot of texture, soft ciabatta bread, soft meatloaf, soft tomato...needed something else. Flavor was okay, not great. P1 got the chicken salad sandwich with chips, chicken salad was tasty, bread was toasted well, had grapes and was not too wet or too dry, just about right. There wasn't a lot of chicken salad on the sandwich, which was disappointing for $12.95 (chips was a bag of baked lays). Dessert was unusual, got the blushing possum pie? Still not quite sure what was in it, raspberries, maybe? Almost $40 for a lunch of two sandwiches, two waters, and one small dessert. I'll be back for the bakery items, but probably won't go back for lunch. read more
