We are here for the 2nd day in a row eating this delicious food in a positive, calm and welcoming space for all!! The menu is fun, everything we've had been delicious and the staff is impeccable with details, speed and kindness. We will recommend this place to everyone we know that visits Eureka Springs! Get off of Main St and get yourself to Sugar and crumbs!!

Best breakfast in town. Eggs were perfect. The biscuit was amazing. I loved the mozzarella tomato basil sandwich! The hash brown casserole was delicious! Absolutely everything was so good.

This is a unique place to eat. You grab a menu and place your order at the counter. I chose the cafe club sandwich with sweet pepper coleslaw. Yummy There are no fountain drinks, bottles only. And we found out it is because of their location above some living quarters and strict codes. It was not a big deal. Great little place for an afternoon lunch adventure.

Really good food. Stopped in for lunch and ate breakfast. They also have fudge, candy and ice cream.

Beautiful spot and super creative interior. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Fluffy biscuits and yummy mini waffles with tons of fruit, I got both blueberries and strawberries. Good tea selection and serve yourself coffee. Great music to enjoy with a warm beverage. Great vibes and service!

Metered street and lot parking were within a brisk albeit slight uphill walk for us on 7.23.2025. Because our dog was not allowed inside, I trusted my two pre-teens to order with cash. My daughters said the employee was very nice... and fast too! The flavors were just like the name - Pure Joy! They offer items such as Rosemary Peach Ice Cream, Pawpaw Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Pawpaw Lime Sorbet, Sumac Lemonade, Ozark Eggnog, and Ripe Persimmon Sorbet. My daughters settled for Strawberry Lavender Sorbet and I think Blueberry Buttermilk Ice Cream. I remembered it being a little on the pricey side, then after viewing their Insta page I realized it's probably because the owners travel to Mexico to pick some of their own ingredients. Maybe... a made-from-scratch bourbon caramel mixed into a dark stout ice cream? Orrrrr - a berried lemonade sorbet made black by activated charcoal??? Then you haven't lived!! (J/k... but seriously... you should try it!!) This is Pure Joy's 2nd location. They're still working on the inside as of Oct 2025, so more updates to be enjoyed! But the ICE CREAM?? That's here to stay! And if you'd like to hear a very fun story, ask how they source their vanilla pods from a farm in Mexico, and NOT from a woman named Esperanza!!! lol - seriously. Just ask the owner. He's fabulous - even when we rolled in with a party of seven at 9:55pm, 5 minutes before closing!

But this place...this owner, wow. If you're going to get anything out of this review from my experience, TLDR; owner has some serious attitude issues towards picture taking and having civil conversations with his (potential) customers. First off, I'm writing as a human being visiting Eureka Springs. I just have the standard of being treated with humanly respect. Those that have high reviews defending the owner's actions are a little questionable. They say to "leave your ego and entitlement at the door" or "the owner stands up for his own". Concerning as that is what they see as okay for someone who owns a shop in the hospitality business. I will say some pros - the Disney/Mickey decorations posted outside his windows are cute and lure you in, but be careful with this. And his pretzels seem really good...wish I got to try them. I came in with doughy eyes enamored with his Disney decor and wanted to take photos of it, especially because it's what I normally do when writing Yelp reviews. It's almost a muscle-memory at this point. As soon as I took the first photo, I was startled by the man at the register pointing at me yelling, "GET OUT! ENJOY YOUR PICTURE! IT SAYS NO PICTURES!". Of course, I'm taken aback like a deer in headlights, but without a word and still shook, I walked out. I had to take a few minutes to process what the heck just happened. As my family walked out, I learned that I was kicked out for taking a photo when he had signs that say no photos. Okay, I did miss that but again, I'm a tourist looking at everything and was distracted by the Disney signs. I wasn't reading every single word on his door prior to entering. What really got me was that I went about my day, but as I passed by his shop again before heading back home, I decided to try and talk to him, just to apologize and learn as to why what happened, happened. I'm just curious as to why. As I walk in, he immediately recognized me and sassily asks me "WHAT? WHAT DO YOU WANT? You got your picture!" Without raising my voice and not blurting a single profane word, I told him I wanted a civil discussion. He goes straight to claim that I felt entitled to come in into his home, take photos as I please, and tell him how to run his business. Not the case. I tried to explain my side of the story and apologized again, but to no prevail. I told him I loved his Disney decor and he responds with "Then if you love it so much, go to f*cking Disneyland!" He proceeded to tell me he records everything and puts them on YouTube (which, I'd love to find), that every other business has "No Photos" signs on their door, yadda yadda. There was no point in trying to get my customer point of view across to this man. I told him to have a day and walked out. Another party of people saw me walk out red in the face and asked if I just got yelled at. Apparently, they ordered a pretzel from him but once he saw one of them take a photo, he threw their pretzel in the trash and kicked them out. A bitter man running a hospitality business in the middle of a tourist area. It's not ideal and really shouldn't be acceptable unless that's his shtick and people know it. Again, I'm sure his pretzels were great, but not worth going through that. (I was going to post the one photo that started all this, but out of respect for HIM, I won't. TBH, my initial thought was that he didn't want photos because he didn't want Disney sending him a C&D for all his stuff.)

So like good tourists, we did You walk into the store and it's not what you expect and there is no seating. They do have water that you can drink but this is definitely a grab and go place. That doesn't mean that you will be rushed however as I went here twice within the same weekend and took my time both times. MJ's serves macarons, which I believe they are best known for. They also have cakes in jars, cookie sandwiches, brownie cookie, and ice cream. Of the macarons, my favorite was the fig and honey ones though they were all delicious. I also got the chocolate chip cookie cream sandwich and it was SO YUMMY plus big enough to nibble on the rest of the weekend. The brownie cookie was delicious with some milk once I got back to our cabin. I did not try the ice cream so that is a next trip item! The store owner, which I think may be the husband of the baker(??- maybe just a worker), was so kind, patient, and considerate. I bought the macrons for my husband as a take-home treat. Once a man behind the counter knew that that's what I was doing with them, he took the extra time to put them in a box that would keep them safe from crumbling, as well as putting that small box in the Ziploc bag to keep them as fresh as possible because it would be a day before I got back home. They did last all the way back to Tahlequah, OK for my husband and I to enjoy them together and start planning our adventure to Eureka Springs! I just wanted to specifically call out this kind gesture because it really made me wish that they were local to me as I would be using them for any of my events and gatherings. So be sure to visit them when you go, as good Fortune should follow good people! 100% recommend MJ's and look forward to seeing what they do next when I go back to Eureka Springs!

My husband enjoyed the creamy Gorgonzola pasta dish with caramelized onions and cherry tomatoes. There were several good looking desserts, but we were too full to try any. Ambience fairly simple but a row of cute lamps lining the shelf up above. There's a small restaurant area as well as a bar area. Some tables outside, but it was too cool for us to try that. The food matches the setting. The crab cakes are better than most places--crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and not overly heavy. The meatball & grits were solid, and the wedge fries on the side hit the spot--simple but done right. This is an easy, go-to lunch spot whether you're taking a break from exploring downtown or wrapping up a day walking around. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and a perfect place to slow things down for a bit.
