The owner makes his own sauce and sells it at Whole Foods and Fresh Market. The owner is super friendly and loves to joke around. Some people may not get his sense of humor, but I find it funny. Delicious BBQ! We make a point at eating here every time we are in town. The brisket has a lot of flavor and not a bunch of fat, just the right amount. I've never had banana pudding, it had a beautiful meringue on top. Definitely enough for two people to share it. The sides are sold separately. I like that since the meat is what I want. Lillie's Q is the best BBQ in the area and the guy behind the counter cooking it brings a new show each day. He's a character and he's from Texas, order the brisket and listen to his spiel. He also offers some nice sides of which potato salad is my fav and his desserts are awesome. Not sure if he or Lillie makes them!! I've been living across the street for two months and have never seen or smelled smoke coming from this place. They cook the food elsewhere. I went there one day with some friends. Everyone's meat was bone dry. I ordered chicken and received a breast so overcooked it was like chicken jerky! Somehow even the brisket was dry! How do you make a dry brisket?! This is a classic bbq setup, basically an oversized shack on the side of the road, couple of tables outside, not a scrap of pretension here. Love it. As to the food, I'm sorry I didn't stop in sooner (it closes so early, and I was never in a spot to get over there the first few days). The pulled pork was a great example of not overdoing things. The flavors were simple: smoke and meat (yes, I'm sure there was a bit of seasoning, but it was subtle--the meat stood on its own). The sandwich was piled high, the pork was tender and juicy, the sauce was exceptional (just did the basic, but they have several varieties). I also got to try the brisket, and I basically wished for a second stomach. Tender, smoky, well-seasoned--I often hesitate to order brisket because it's so often done poorly, but this one was darn near perfect. On that wishing for more room topic, I will be getting the banana pudding next time; the folks behind me ordered it, and it looked amazing. Washed everything down with a sweet tea. The sides were just ok, I'd probably stick with the chips (give the pimento cheese ones a try). I've seen some reviews knocking the owner. I'm confident he and I have different views on many things, but I didn't see any of the rudeness to myself or other guests that some have complained of on here. He's not warm and fuzzy by any means, and he's a bit cantankerous, but he chatted with all of us there, cracked some jokes, and was a good host. read more

Came here for lunch when visiting a friend that lives in the area and loves this place. You order and pay at the counter (where they like to display their Trump merchandise...). Cash only! The dining area is outside, but it's nice and covered. I had the beef tri-tip sandwich with potato salad and baked beans. They have 7 different bbq sauces available, I liked the "smoky" sauce. Didn't care for the potato salad, but the baked beans tasted fine to me. The actual sandwich was pretty good. Decent meal overall. read more

I can't stay in Destin without stopping to see Quito and enjoying a spectacular meal of ribs, their own kettle chips and other sweet side items. Everything I've ever had here is fantastic- including the pointed political commentary, which is fun (served lightly for those with a different palette than the owners)! We stopped at Lillie's Q today and couldn't be happier that we did! We had a great lunch and a great visit with the owner who turned out to be from the same town as us (New Braunfels, Tx). I had the smoked chicken salad sandwich (which he offered me a sample of since I wasn't ordering BBQ) & it was delicious! My BF is the BBQ critic and he had Tri-tip & brisket, both of which he enjoyed. The owner even brought out a sample of brisket for me to try! We have bought the Lillie's Q sauce before in Tx but didn't realize this was "the" Lillie's Q! So we bought some more :) and he recommended the Gold Sauce! Looking forward to trying that on several different things! We found the owner to be extremely nice and (despite what some of these reviews say) extremely professional! He runs the place himself and that alone says a LOT! We will definitely be back! read more

If you're in the market for service with a smile go elsewhere. He is the drill sergeant of meat. That being said, the BBQ is " pretty solid". We have driven past this BBQ place a thousand times. We finally stopped this week for lunch. We met Quito, the owner, who is worth the stop just to chat with. The food was amazing. I had the ribs and the new sausage with pimento cheese inside. Both were delicious. As an added bonus, Quito showed us how to make a proper batch of "Sun tea". Great food. We will be back. read more
