I really love the food here, but they need to update their hours. Their hours are 11am-9pm from Sunday-Tuesday as stated on Yelp, Google, and their very own website. I ordered door from here today, Friday at 2:44pm through Doordash pickup and when I arrived to pick my order up, the doors were locked. A staff member opened the door and they said they were closed. I told them I had a Doordash order and they said I placed an order after 3pm and said I would have to go through Doordash to receive a refund. I actually placed my order 15 minutes ahead. But even if I did place my order after 3pm, why would you not correct your hours? And why would you confirm my order if you know you're closing? It makes no sense. Yay! What a good find! In keeping with my quarantine routine, I got takeout from a local spot to close out the work week. I was craving Indian and decided to give Lilly's a try. I was a little hesitant at first because of recent reviews regarding takeout orders, but decided to go ahead and order anyway - and I'm happy that I did! I didn't have any issues at all with ordering (I ordered over the phone) - in fact, it was ready 5 minutes sooner than expected and they called as soon as it was ready. Okay, so the really important stuff! The food - I ordered the butter chicken, Lasooni/ garlic Naan, Gobi Manchurian and veggie samosas. The butter chicken was really good, the chicken was cooked perfectly - really tender! My only wish is that I would have ordered medium instead of mild for the spice level. Next time! The gobi manchurian was good as well. I've never had it anywhere else so I can't compare, but I thought it was tasty. Anddd finally the samosas - I have to say they were the only disappointing part of the experience. I don't know what was happening with the Samosas, but the outside shell was extremely salty and the inside filling was really bland. Decided to try this new restaurant on the recommendation of a gf and I'm so glad I did. Service was extremely attentive, but not annoyingly so. I asked if they offered ginger naan, which was not on the menu but they accommodated my request - it was amazing. We had the Amritsari Fish, Veggie Samosas, shrimp Coco, (Spicy) chicken korma, (mild) butter chicken and for dessert the chocolate coma (includes vanilla ice cream). I loved it all with the exception of the samosas. I think the pastry could be less dense and more airy and flaky. Still good in flavor, though. The Amritsari fish was lightly battered but very good in flavor. My chicken korma was exactly the spice level I wanted. I explained to our waiter that although I love spicy, hot food that I still want to be able to taste the food. I have no complaints about the spice levels and think Lilly's is pretty on the ball. My gf's mild butter chicken was also good in flavor. If you love Indian cuisine as much as I do, do yourself a favor and get over to Lilly's. You won't be sorry. read more

Legitimately wonderful food marred by poor service. They haven't hired the same quality of staff that they had when they first opened. Moreover, takeout logistics are an absolute nightmare. I was relieved to finally find a restaurant that served authentic food that reminded me of entrees I've tried from North and South India! It's definitely on the top of the list for best Indian restaurants in the area. They had a modern depiction of the Indian flag as one of their murals and adorable indian designed decorations throughout the restaurant. As an appetizer, the Samosa chaat is a great option to share with friends. I ordered the South Indian Parotta which was perfectly round and flakey pairing well with the deliciously creamy Malai Kofta curry. I purchased Butter Chicken and Masala potatoes. Also mango Chutney. I forgot to order some Naan bread. I am overjoyed by everything. The Butter Chicken was moist, not dry like I've seen before. The butter chicken was pretty good. It was flavorful and with aromatic Indian spices. However, some pieces of chicken was over cooked, yet not enough to not enjoy it. I enjoy Indian food in general, so it's always good to pinpoint a really good place. Although I only tried the butter chicken, I'd like to try other entrees to base my review on. The staff are always very friendly and professional which I really appreciate! I will say that the prices are more expensive than many other places I've tried, especially for very small portions, so it's important to weigh that against other places. Mango and coconut lassi was very rich and refreshing a nice balance to the spice of the dishes. When we came here the ambience was nice and let me tell you....the food is authentic and the closest I've tasted to food in India! I was excited to try this new restaurant since I love Indian cuisine. They completely transformed La Pergola, a sweet spot in Jenkintown that lasted 20+ years. It was a disappointment that it closed last year. The new space is nice, and parking is plentiful. The menu looked nice with lots of great choices. When ordering, I let the server know that I can't tolerate spicy food. I frequent other Indian restaurants throughout the area and never have a problem with too much spice. I asked that everything be made mild. She told me they have 5 levels of spiciness and I'd be getting the mild. When my samosas arrived, they looked like standard fare, but after one bite my mouth was on fire. I mentioned this to the server when she stopped by to ask, and she said it was probably the sauce. I know not to add sauce, but she offered raita to cool me down. The bread was good and had a nice flavor. Our entrees arrived. My vegetable korma was exactly the same. Super spicy! It was too creamy and did not have a great korma flavor. She said it was the mildest. It was not. However, the palak paneer was the complete opposite. It was as flavor-free and as bland as eating plain, cooked spinach. By the end of the meal my mouth was still on fire. If you love spicy Indian, give it a try. If not, stay far away. read more

Friends and I decided to give this place a try and it was definitely a good choice! Really cute and comfortable interior! The server was amazing at remembering everyone's orders! No need for him to write it down because he already has it in his memory bank. Service was great and cleans up our leftover dishes right away and constantly refills our empty water glasses. Do try the samosa chaat and the chicken 65 because they were heavenly. The samosa chaat was great with the crispy garlic naan that we ordered and the chicken 65 was seasoned so nicely and it was juicy! The vegetable samosas by themselves weren't that great but of course, they provided you with great dipping sauces like tamarind chutney and I'm guessing mint chutney which was my favorite! I didn't particularly like the masala chai as it tasted more like milk than tea and comes unsweetened. The mango lassi was very thick with yogurt and it just didn't suit my tastes but to each their own. The chicken korma was deliciously creamy and nutty. I got the paneer tikka masala (extra spicy) with garlic naan and it was absolutely delicious and they give nice size portions of everything so you'll definitely leave with leftovers. I'm giving them 4 stars because I prioritize the food itself, but please read below for some cons to keep in mind. My husband and I recently moved to Philadelphia and picked this place based on the positive reviews. We got takeout from here on one occasion. PROS: -The food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala while my husband ordered the Goat Curry. We also got 2 orders of naan. They ask for your spice level preference which I appreciated. Level 3 already has a good amount of kick so be forewarned. CONS: -They are on the pricier side (especially the Goat Curry) than what I'm used to, so this isn't a place I'd recommend for consistent takeout, but rather once in a blue moon. That's difficult for us because before moving, Indian food was usually a big go-to for us as a delicious AND affordable option (affordable as in $12 for each main dish vs the $16 & $18 we paid here for our respective dishes). -I think for the price they could certainly give you more rice than what they did. -The wait time was absurd. We were told 40mins and my husband waited outside for 2hrs before getting our food. If they had told us to expect that long a wait time, no problem, but since they grossly underestimated it, I've included this as a con. read more

When asked what can be made vegan and dairy free, he wrote on the menu dietary restrictions for every single item so I could have it for the future.
