I went to get a lash lift at the end of March. After they were done they looked okay, they weren't super curled but they were definitely darker, I liked them. I was very hesitant to get a lash lift because I've always had full and long lashes and was scared they'd get messed up but I wanted to stop using mascara as often so I decided to get one. Now it's June and my lashes are broken off and frizzy. They go all different ways and just look really really bad. I've tried oils and everything to get them to look normal but nothing has worked yet. My experience wasn't great when I went in and now my lashes are ruined, I can't wear mascara because it looks crazy. I'm not sure if they were over curled or the chemicals were left on too long but my eyelashes still haven't recovered. I'm so upset my beautiful lashes are ruined. My lashes have GREAT retention with Lily & Ruby here. It lasts literally 4 weeks which is crazy. The appointments are always so comfortable and both artists are so gentle. I like Lily a bit more since she's more experienced and I feel like the shape looks better, but overall I've never been to a better lash place. 5 stars since I was very satisfied with my tech, Christine. She specializes in Volume and I lalalala love them. The previous girls I have been to in the past will place lashes that are too heavy on my natural lashes. I would wake up with so many lashes on my pillows or bathroom as to the work with Christine, they stay on very well! They are super fluffy and the lash brand they use is by far my favorite. I care about the retention more than i do the new set itself, and if you're like me on how long they last then highly recommend! I've seen Lily twice now and was waiting to write a review cause I wanted to see how long the lashes lasted and how they did overtime compared to other lash studios! Now that I've had my first 5 week refill, I think I can write a pretty comprehensive review about my experiences and the durability of the lashes based on her work! I was recommended to Lily by my old lash studio because 1. I was having a reaction to the new glue she was using and my eyes all of a sudden started itching like crazy and 2. My old lash studio didn't want to do volume lashes anymore cause of the time and expertise in placing them. I thought it was a little weird cause I had been seeing my gal for years but didn't argue and made an appointment to see Lily for my next refill. She is definitely a hard person to schedule an appointment with cause she books up fast!! There were very specific times she would be available and way far in advance - so if you want to see her, schedule quickly! The studio is located on West Gray in a weird complex with several suites. There is parking in the back, but be very careful cause they are marked clearly. You do not want to park next door at the Men's Warehouse lot, but from West Gray, I almost always turn into that lot before circling in the back to the correct one on the left. Not sure if the entrance to this lot is only in the back cause I can never find the front entrance - but you'll figure it out. I've never had an issue with parking or finding an open space. You have to walk through the building and up to the 2nd floor - the doors are marked with the name of the business so it'll be easy to spot. The studio itself if minimalist - but provides what is necessary - chairs, water and snacks while you wait. The 2nd time I went there were just 2 chairs, she had removed the bench seating - so it's constantly changing. My experience with the actual lash removal and application are as follows. I thought Lily was a little rough handed when it came to removing my old lashes. Both times I felt pulling and a bit of pain when she tried to remove the lashes. Maybe she was trying to work quickly but I never felt pain from removal at the last 2 studios I went to. I don't like her removal process, and have since learned to dread them and hoping they'll be over quickly the 2 times I've been here. The lash application is quick and painless though and they always look fantastic after she's done. I love how they look - super full and never clumpy. She takes her time in the application and because she does, you can tell that each strand is glued on perfectly. Lashes will naturally fall out the longer you keep them, I've had a few fall out within the first week but nothing out of the ordinary. I actually still had lashes left after 5 weeks, while on vacation and not performing my usual care routine. I thought they stayed on well - though they start looking stupid and sparse after 3-4 weeks or so. This is natural and has nothing to do with Lily - I love her work and think that the lashes do stay on longer than normal. She is very friendly and sweet - though sometimes she'll chat and do other things while working on you.. so don't expect to sleep and relax in these instances. Overall, I will come back cause I love how full my lashes are after they've been refilled. She is more expensive than other places though and I wish her removal technique can be changed a bit so it's not so rough. Can't wait to come back so I can have a fresh set once the current ones fall out. I've gotten compliments on her work and people said they look good compared to other lashes I've had in the past! read more

I took a little break between my first visit with Lily and now. Recently this year, I decided to make lashes as a part of my ongoing beauty regimen and I have loved having Lily as my technician. She has opened up her own little place in the kirby area and it is so cute!! Everytime I go in, I notice she is trying something new and different to make sure that her customers have a great experience. Currently when you walk in, there's a cute waiting area stocked full of drinks and snacks for you to enjoy while you wait. Lily also has a receptionist now that can take care of your needs before and after appointments with the lash artists. They also offer lash shampoo if you need a refill or are new to lashes. I just discovered that they take venmo/cashapp as forms of payment which I'm super excited about as well! I love having Lily as my technician the best, although I've tried another one of her technicians as well. She is always careful to make sure that she makes your lashes the most beautiful they can be and to your liking. She will always make sure to ask if you like the look at the end of appointments. I like that Lily removes old lashes that are too long so they dont look weird with the new refills. She is also very skilled so she can sometimes get me all finished before the time allotment is over and my lashes still look beautiful. I also enjoy our conversations - sometimes when I'm in the mood to chat, we'll have great conversations and she seems genuinely interested and will remember them the next time I come in. Hello Yelpers!! Parking is a little tricky. I was going in circles trying to find an appropriate spot to park without getting towed when I first came. Make sure you read the signs but the back parking lot directly behind the building is where all the clients can park. You may walk into the alley between the two buildings to get to the front door or walk around the building. The alley is dark FYI so I'd walk around the building to be more safe. The front door is all glass so it's hard to know where because there is no sign on the building or on the front door but once you go inside, there is a chart on the wall that says Lily Lash Artistry is on the 2nd floor. The establishment is well organized and clean where they do a great job at setting their appointments by one client at a time so I do not run into other clients in the same room or waiting area. I started going to Christine recently during this pandemic and I wish I have found her years ago! She meets all of my expectations and is very patient and her work is done thoroughly where she pays attention to every detail. She doesn't ever rush and always checks on me a couple of days later to see how my lashes are doing or if I experienced any burns or have any other concerns. I love her work and technique she does on my lashes! My lashes last about 3-4 weeks which is a huge plus! I like my lashes to have the mega volume and feathery-fan look. I go in for a 4 week refill, which is never a problem with Lily, and nothing is mentioned to me about having to have a certain number of lashes left, or having any removed. Then when it comes time to check out I'm told it's going to be a full set because I Jac less than 2 lashes left. I'm sorry, what? And then the number changed to oh you had was than 10? None of which was communicated when I walked in or even when the appointment started. Definitely never coming here again and finding somewhere closer to me with better service! Lily's work is amazing and you can tell the level of skill and artistry involved in her work! I tried lashes about a year ago for the first time at a chain lash salon and they were way too intense, they hurt and started falling out after only a few days. Really disappointing experience. My daughter booked an appointment for me weeks in advance as a Mother's Day gift. They ask for your credit card in order to reserve your appointment, which my daughter sent in. Then, after driving an HOUR in 5:00 traffic, we checked in and were told there was a "misunderstanding" and that the appointment was not ever booked since the credit card information was not sent in ... my daughter then pulled up the text messages to prove that she did in fact send it in, and then the lash technician proceeded to pull up her text messages as well and did in fact find the text my daughter had sent ??? She barely apologized, then said we could wait another hour for a different lash technician to do my lashes. You would think that a business that will charge you in full for not showing up to your appointment would consider offering some sort of compensation or discount to remedy the situation or at least act like they felt remorseful. Why would I waste another hour of my life waiting for a business that clearly does not care about its customers? She handled this very unprofessionally. I was not impressed with their "salon" and would not recommend this place to anyone based on their lack of professionalism and the way that we were treated.
