Good location next to an Hmart and with nearby street parking options but have had better Korean standards elsewhere. Ban Chan consisted of 3 options, Kim Chi which was flavourful but not spicy, mung bean sprouts and cold sweet corn salad. Rice was purple rice versus standard white which was a nice surprise and staff was able to mute the spice level of a soup noodle for our table. Pork meat was super stringy tough and dry but noodles were a great chew. Seafood pancake was greasy and lacking seafood and accompanying dipping sauce was so salty wihj no flavour. Staff was very attentive and polite but food just didnt hit the mark for us. In an area with so many other Kotean options I hope this was just an off night and we chose wrong items, because this was a little sub par.

Casual Korean restaurant with traditional dishes. It was pretty quiet on Christmas evening, but service was lacking and slow. We got the hot pot gamjatang (pork bone and potato soup) and kampungki (fried boneless chicken with sweet and sour sauce). This was a good portion for 4 people, both were so delicious. The gamjatang came with two bowls of purple rice. My only complaint was the side dishes were very mediocre/small and it took a long time to refill them. Overall it's a solid, affordable choice.

. service was niceee, when we went it was a little empty but the server was really nice and let us take our time ordering . I LOVE CORN CHEESE AND THEIR BIMBAP . more of a classic korean old school restaurant vibe for me . side dishes were nice, wish the corn cheese ended up melting little more but still devoured regardless

Great late night delicious eats. Came here late in the evening for dinner and was highly satisfied with the food. (Tip: the front door needs to be yanked really hard to open, I almost thought they were closed since it was so late in the night). Staff are friendly and attentive, especially since there weren't that many diners in the restaurant. Food! Rose tteokbokki 10/10 - Maker sure to ask them to add glass noodles to this, it makes it 10x better. It's creamy, with a thick rose sauce with perfectly cooked chewy rice cakes. It's packed with flavour and so satisfying. Must get! Army Stew 8/10 - Stove top stew for sharing with the table. Was quite surprised that the liquid they pour into the pot was water rather than some sort of broth. But it was still delicious and really hit the spot with the sausage meats. Great for sharing! Bossam 10/10 - Loved the pieces of boiled pork bellya nd their sauces were top notch. Cabbage quickly blanched to perfection. Kimchi radish, ssamjang and garlic to top your bossam with was the cherry on top! Ask for additional garlic slices, you'll thank me later ;) Can't wait to come back for more rose tteokbokki. Still thinking about it while I'm writing this review. YUM

Yonge & Finch Korean Staple - known for their decent late night food Parking Situation: Street Parking available, Free after 10PM Decent food for decent prices. Small hole in the wall situation with a small selection of Korean staple cuisine. Service: Restaurant was not "busy" but there were a few tables seated with us, lots going on and when we we ready to order they came quickly. Food arrived fairly quickly for a Friday night at 9PM Rating: 4/5 What we ordered: Rosé Tteokbokki Budae Jiggae Bossam (5/5) Rosé Tteokbokki: Creamy, cheesy, warm, hot, a little sweet, a little salty, a good alternative to spicy rice cakes if you're not into spice, has a good combination of flavors that melt together (3/5) Budae Jiggae - Typical army stew, has all your main ingredients, instant ramyeon, spam, cucumbers, tofu, mushrooms, spring onion, rice cakes, two types of sausages, the broth was a little salty for my taste but overall not bad. During my last sips of the broth it was a little better, however still needed to drink lots of water after the whole experience. *Also comes with two bowls of purple rice (4/5) Bossam: Decent portion for 4 people, good amount of ssamjang and sauce with jalapenos and garlic, flavor wise I did not find it have the "porky" flavor, overall I'd get it again, good color and texture to the pork, enough fattiness and a little sweet. Good pairing with the ssamjang and well balanced flavors. Ambience: Hole in the wall type of restaurant, the restaurant has been here for many years, it carries a bright space with the color scheme, don't expect anything fancy, it is a very low-key casual spot to hang out, chill, have some good food and some good drink (if it is that kind of night). The food will hit the spot. Overall 4/5, I have been coming here for many years and hope they stick around.

This is the first time I come back since pandemic. They have changed all seating from tradition seating to all table. I wish the keep the tradition seating but I understand this change will give them more seat. Service was amazing as a 24 /7 restaurant. The server was very attentive to us. The pork bone soup is so far my favorite on Yonge. It doesn't have potato chunks but you can taste them in the soup. The soup is complex with miso and hot chilli paste. Bone is fall out from meat. Well balance. The sausage is my favorite on Yonge Street, you can taste meal , glass noodle rice and some liver. Most other restaurants can only taste the liver and rice. The pork soup contains intestines. I love it but not everyone taste. You can see they have spend time on the soup, you can taste the sweetness of the meat. Not just salty and msg.

This is just as good as I remember it I love all the side dishes probably my favourite side dishes compared to a lot of other Korean restaurants. The portions are generous and I really enjoyed my pork bone soup. Just be aware that they do not split the bills which is understandable.

Vegetable japchae, kimchi friend rice, army stew

The service was pretty slow around 8pm on a weekday evening. The restaurant was freezing. We had our jackets on the entire time, along with a few other tables. I ordered the single serving army stew, on the menu it said it came with noodle. When it arrived, it didn't have any noodle. When I asked the server she shrugged/no apologies, and said it doesn't come with noodle.... She even grabbed the menu, and I pointed out it says noodles. I paid $18 spam and sausage soup that merely filled me up. I was also really looking to noodles so this ruined my whole dinner experience. The kimchi fried rice was really good though. I would probably order this again for take out.

First time grabbing take out at this spot. Pretty smooth process as they accept online ordering and it would be ready in 20 mins pick up only. Cash has a 10% discount and they accept card as well. Ordered a pork bone soup and some grapefruit soju /makgeolli (korean rice wine) upon pick up the staff were super friendly and even gave me some deep friend korean dumplings on the house along with two cans of pop! The pork bone soup had 3 pieces of pork bone that were filled with meat and one piece of potato. Broth was pretty good, could be a bit more spicy (just a personal preference). Loved that it came with purple rice and 3 different side dishes which were potatoes, kimchi and seaweed. Overall price for the soup was $10.99 before tax

This is one of the best Korean food in Koreatown by far. They offer consistent and great tasting food no matter what day or time you go. I especially admire their customer service. Their servers are all very attentive, and always there to answer any questions. The ambiance is the typical Korean restaurant with K-pop music playing on the TV and depending on the time of day it can get a bit but not too crazy.

    Ttukbaegi bulgogi
    Cindy D.

Ordered ttukbaegi bulgogi to go and I was very happy with the order. The soup was flavourful, the beef slices were cut thinly and was marinated very well. It came in a decent portion where the soup bowl had enough space to put rice in it. I ended up saving it or the next day and it was just as good.

Good place for Korean late night AM eats. Love how they're open so late at night (they're actually decently busy even past midnight!). Clearly on a dumpling craving... we ordered the Fried Mandu and Rice cake + Mandu Soup. The Fried Mandu were good - fried fresh and served with a vinegar soy sauce dip. The soup was alright - it's filled with mushrooms, mandu, rice cakes, egg, and beef slices. The mandu get overly mushy though after being boiled to death in the soup; tbh kinda gets rly gross after eating one or two. Eat it fast while trying not to boil your tongue in the soup LOL. Price is comparable to other Korean restaurants. Despite it being late at night and it being quite busy, service was decent. It was a bit hard to flag someone down to pay the bill but other than that they were fine.
