As you can see the final result is just self explanatory in the photo! The one with filter on is being toned to a ashy grey, excuse all the filters. TLDR: Well-kept spot and busy. It's so hard for me to trust people with cutting my hair and I was still a little nervous with Denise T, but she did an AMAZING job with my cut. Be upfront with what you want and have some trust! Long version: I'll be honest, I went in to Lima with low expectations because everyone who tries to cut my hair always wants to cut it sooo short. It's pin-straight, healthy, and down to my lower back. I wanted a cut to make my hair bouncy/voluminous, which isn't impossible contrary to popular belief! I wanted to get into a salon quickly because I had waited long enough but also didn't schedule ahead very well. I didn't have a regular hair person so I called around to some top-rated spots in my area. I called Lima and was scheduled with Denise 20 minutes later. She actually moved something around to make room for my cut which was awesome. I got there at 12:15 and she got right to the point, asked me what I wanted and was ready to shampoo me. I'm an introvert so I appreciated that there wasn't too much small talk and I got to just relax in the chair. I emphasized my concerns, especially that I wanted to keep it long and she let me know that it's harder to give volume with my hair-type, which is totally true so I wasn't expecting much from the cut. Maybe just to give a little movement in the front. Then she cut my hair. No hesitation. She just went for it after listening to me and me meeting her partway on the inches to cut. I said 2, she recommended 4. I met her at 3 She gave my hair body, texture, blended it beautifully, and was confident while doing it. That's literally all I wanted. I've been going to this salon for over 4 years. I see Rosie Tran for hair cuts and color. She is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I can't imagine going anywhere else. Rosie will talk through your haircut or color ideas and actually let you know if it is a good idea. She will explain how a certain haircut will actually work with your hair type and the level of upkeep you will need to be willing to do. I personally like a haircut that doesn't require a lot of time or styling to look great but can be styled when I have extra time and she has done that for me everytime. My hair stylist was Nancey, she has a very pleasant personality, she is patient and a total sweet heart. I love the way she explained the color pigments before starting the process because it gave me an idea of how my hair would turn out. Due to my hair being jet black, it didn't lift as light as I wanted but she was more than determined to get the color as close to my preference as much as possible. She went over it a second time, toned it and it lifted the blondes a little lighter. I really appreciate the fact that she actually took her time to correct my hair color since my hair was so stubborn. I had an appointment with Terri Tagami for a body wrap massage at 1:30pm. got there earlier around 1:00 (I drove all the way from vacaville 45 min)..while I was waiting she came up to me and said that my appointment was at12:30 and she can not accept me today and left. then she came back while I was still shocked and told me that I can re-scheduled it for next month !!! I love this salon! I come here for facials, waxing and make-up on a regular basis. The esthetician Alison that works there is truly the best. She is thorough, careful and so friendly. She knows how to make people feel comfortable and relaxed. I get my eyebrows and lips waxed in addition to a Brazilian on a regular basis. She also gives the best european facials. She took the time to make sure there wasn't breakage while still giving me the blonde color I wanted. I love this salon. I get my hair done by Rosie and my waxing with Alison. I cannot recommend them more than I already do. I recently started going to Rosie. She is a breath of fresh air. I was taken aback at first, I have never had a stylist care so much about the products I use, asked me how I maintain my hair, etc. She really seemed to care and was willing to show me how to properly flat iron and style my hair. Giving me tips on how to take better care of it and how to reach my length goal is her top priority. I feel like I am well taken care of. Alison is wonderful, I have been seeing her for 10 years now and would rather grow hairy if I ever had to move. Prices are great considering the quality service you receive. Khoi's been my hairstylist for over 5yrs and she does magic with you hair. I regret not following her immediately after her leave at Regis. I wanted to be blonde again and just happened to be at The mall so I went to Regis. I allowed a new girl to practice on my hair and I hate to say that she completely killed my hair. My back hair had breakage like no other. With no hesitation I stopped going to Regis and contacted Khoi. She restored my hair and turned my Stockton Blvd blonde hair to a cool tone Silver ash blonde. She used high end product on my hair so it wouldn't be looking so dead and keeps my toner on longer. Khoi took her time and did everything she could to fix the mistakes the other hairstylist made. She even allowed a redo because I took so long to get a touch up the band would show. (All my fault) I didn't notice it but she did. I love how critical she is when it comes to hair, perfectionist. I got my haircut here about 6 months ago. I think the gal's name was Denise. We didn't talk much. She asked me what I wanted initially but didn't check in with me very often, she just plugged products for extra money. I hated the cut...I actually cried. Now, after 6 months of it growing out I'm fine with wearing it down, but that was 6 months of lots of bobby pins and pony tails. I told her not to use any product but she sprayed away, I had to wash my hair twice to get it all out when I got home. She made faces at my split ends and was generally unapproachable. 2 years ago I was in the midst of wedding madness and needed a hair stylist to do my hair for my big day. After going to countless hair trials at other salons and being disappointed, I was feeling pretty hopeless. On top of that, hair stylists were trying to charge an arm and a leg to come to my venue -- one stylist quoted $300 to drive LOCALLY to my venue in Rancho because he said he would be missing out on his appointments, so he had to get compensated some how. Luckily, after doing many Google and Yelp searches, I called up Lima Salon. I spoke to the lady that answered the phone and expressed the hell I had been going through to try and find 1) a good hair stylist 2) a stylist that could drive to my venue 3) a stylist that had availability. She was super nice and said she thought the owner, Vernon, AKA Vern, had an opening and gave me his cell number. I called his cell and we made a date for me to meet up with him at his salon for a hair trial. I went to the hair trial and actually loved what he did to my hair! I say actually because up to that point, I had been utterly disappointed by other hair stylists' half-ass jobs they were doing to my hair. Vern gave me beautiful princess-like curls. He also told me he had availability (yay!) and that he would travel for FREE to my venue. When it came time to pay for my trial, he told me I could save my money and just pay him all at once on my actual wedding day, if I preferred, which was super convenient since everyone knows money is tight as it is when it comes to wedding planning. On my big day, he did not disappoint! He showed up early and ready to go. My makeup artist felt my hair should be done first and makeup second. Having said that, Vern was very meticulous and took great pride in his work, and said he was going to stick around to touch my hair up, again, after she did my makeup because he wanted it to look perfect. I loved that he did that! He was also super easy to work with, not to mention hilarious with his great sense of humor and personality. The real test came when last minute I decided I wanted my hair pinned up about halfway because I felt it would look nicer in my veil. No problem at all for Vern -- he immediately came up with a gorgeous hairdo for me and made me look like a true princess! I seriously can't say enough good things about this man! Not only did he make me feel like a million bucks on my big day and charged me a super reasonable price (I believe $40 for the hair trial and $90-100 for my hair the day of) but I also received TONS of compliments afterward from others on my hair. Sam is truly a wonderful person and a wonderful stylist! I was recommended by a friend so this was my first time coming in! I originally came in just to get my strands tested. I went in with a blue/greenish ombre that was fading really fast (parts of my hair was already turning brown and blonde), and asked for a silver/grey ombre. I then decided to stay to continue with the rest of my hair, and since I was initially not expecting to do all of my hair, I was a bit unprepared for the long hours in the salon chair. However, Sam was extremely caring, she constantly asked if I needed water, she provided me with snacks when I told her I haven't eaten yet, and she even asked a coworker to borrow her phone charger because my phone was at 1%! Not only that, she's so chill that it's extremely easy to make conversation with her!! After bleaching, processing, and toning my hair to the lightest color possible without frying my hair, we tried the silver dye on my hair. Unfortunately, my hair didn't take the color very well and for some strange reason, the green in my hair suddenly resurfaced. Obviously that was out of our control, since my hair has had a history of being unpredictable. So Sam did everything she could to try to tone down the green. I especially admired how determined and professional she was; before she did anything to my hair she would explain to me exactly what she was doing and why. Although my hair isn't the exact silvery grey I wanted, it's still an amazing result that I am quite happy with. Not only did Sam have to color correct my hair, but she also had to rebleach some portions and highlight my pure black hair, but she still made it work!
