Butter Chicken (GF) and Gobi Manchurian (Chefs Special, Vegan)
    Meghan M.

Came here last year and had the chicken malai kofta, which was meh. Glad I gave it another chance because the butter chicken and gobi manchurian were FANTASTIC. The chicken was so tender and I loved the gravy. The gobi was perfectly crispy and the seasoning was delicious.

Amazing! Love this place. Great decor, exceptional service and the food is delicious. From the chaat to the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala and the fish curry ... everything was spiced to perfection and cooked perfectly! Especially the fish (tilapia) curry ... the best.

The reviews for this place-on any site you look-are outstanding. I see no reason to dissent. Even in a crowded market for Indian food, this place had a lot to offer. Seeking takeout, I wanted a South Indian taste but the trademark delicacy from the region, the dosa (which this place does offer), does not travel well. As such, I ordered a bisibelebath, a lentil and rice mix with a distinctive mix of sour, spicy, and savory notes. I hadn't ordered that in years, but I wish I ate it more often. The restaurant is also notable for offering options with tofu for the non-dairy crowd, and I got a house special curry with peas to try that out, which was satisfying. A chaat with mixed chickpeas and potatoes was covered in abundant crispy noodles and delivered a sweeter but still savory flavor note. On the more indulgent side, I got a filled bread with some cheese. Even for takeout, they focused on making the experience outstanding. Everything was ready quickly, and they offered me a set of fryums, little starchy appetizers that are what I would have received had I eaten in. A spicy pickle of probably mango was included as well. Strangely, they still gave me yet one more dish I did not order. I found the smell of my takeout bag utterly foul, and discovered that they had given me some sort of cauliflower dish as well. I appreciate the thought, and they correctly gave me a vegetarian appetizer, but apparently they didn't consider that offering such a dish would not be a plus to those of us who are supertasters of cruciferous vegetables. I threw it out to prevent the food and my car from smelling like rotten eggs. Having said that, it wouldn't really be fair of me to knock them down for being generous. Clearly, the intent was to produce an outstanding experience, and while I did not have time to dine in, it would have been a nice place to do so.

Lime & Lemon is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Triangle. I love both Chapel Hill and Raleigh locations, but I personally think Chapel Hill location is stress free on the parking situation and has prettier interior design. If you are into cocktails or mocktails, they got you. I love trying their different drink and food options every time I visit. You cannot go wrong with any of the food you order, so don't be shy and try something new. Service is always superb - Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I would recommend anyone to take someone out on a date at this place!

This is a great spot, the food is really good. There's a huge menu that's filled with all kinds of Indian dishes including South Indian dishes. It's hard to find a place that makes great Dosa's but they do it perfectly here. The service is always good, the servers are helpful and on top of everything. The space is really quite large so if you are looking for a place that will take big groups this is a fantastic option. They have a full bar and the drinks are solid. Don't miss the chili paneer it's incredible! Highly recommend.

It seems that many of Lime & Lemon's customers enjoyed Lime & Lemon's Mango Lime Chicken, so I ordered that at spicy level, and I was a bit disappointed. Let's start with the positives: The dish was delicious; spiced well with hints of sweetness. The small pieces of chicken were tender and the ratio of chicken to sauce was fine. It seems that this was the most recommended chicken curry dish by servers and previous customers, based on reviews, and I thought they were accurate when it comes to the taste and quality. However, for a close-to-$20 dish, the portion size is small. There's a good amount of rice, but I expected more at that price level. And the rice was not basmati?! It would be more acceptable if this dish came with complimentary naan but none! While generally, most Indian restaurants serve this amount per order, they cost about $3 to $6 less than the Mango Lime Chicken's price. Ambiance was trendy, better than many Indian restaurants we've been to; it seems Lime & Lemon is divided into 2 sections: Restaurant & Bar. Both have dining tables, but I was taken to a table farther from the bar, where all the customers on a Saturday lunch time were. I like how I was able to self-serve water so refilling wasn't a problem. While the customer service was not bad, it wasn't excellent as what many past reviewers said about Edwin (Was he here?). Order was served fast, but wish there was that extra touch of care and hospitality I experienced in other Indian restaurants. The waiter who served me simply did his job without asking if I needed anything else or if I enjoyed the food. Overall, my high expectations were shattered, but I wasn't totally disappointed. There are certainly more authentic Indian restaurants in the Triangle, but I wouldn't call Lime & Lemon "un-authentic". I'm not an expert when it comes to Indian spices but this restaurant proved they can deliver the spicy tastes most people want from an Indian curry dish. This place is also vegetarian-friendly, and there's a lot of good options here for vegetarians, so that's a plus for them. | Overall Score: 3.8/5

Walking in, I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the restaurant. The bright yellow and lime green chairs are a whimsical nod to the name. We were absolutely blown away by the food. The samosa chaat was beyond delicious and the mango lime chicken was phenomenal. Our server Edwin was very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back. This was a top notch experience and food!

Lime and Lemon never disappoints! The ambiance is always so inviting--quiet, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing meal. The service is consistently attentive, which makes every visit enjoyable. We ordered the paneer biryani, chicken tikka masala, and plain naan, all at a medium spice level. The spice was perfectly balanced--not too overwhelming, just the right kick. The naan was soft and perfectly baked, and the chicken tikka masala was as good as always--creamy, flavorful, and satisfying. The paneer biryani was absolutely massive! It's a hearty dish with generous portions, so definitely perfect if you're in the mood for leftovers. All in all, a great experience and definitely one of my go-to spots for delicious Indian food.

A friend recommended that I go to Lime and Lemon to try their Mango Lime Chicken, and while I typically don't like too much sweetness in curry, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Upon returning a second time, I had their lunch special, and after the server kindly explained how their lunch sets worked, I was pleased with the value and the quality. Overall, I've had multiple great experiences here and would definitely consider returning to Lime and Lemon anytime I crave Indian food!

We had Lime & Lemon Catering to celebrate a friend's white coat ceremony from UNC Medical School and wow was it delicious. I live in an area in the Midwest with a relatively smaller South Asian population, so it is truly a treat to come to an area like this in NC where there are South Asian restaurants everywhere. I have heard that Lime & Lemon might be the best one around as well, and while I haven't tried them all - it was certainly the best I had. We ordered rice, gobi manchurian, samosas, garlic naan, butter paneer, and a mushroom curry. I had all but the mushroom curry as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms and it was insane. My favorites were the gobi and the paneer. The gobi was so crispy and the coating was so tasty, truly one of my favorite dishes in general. The butter paneer was also fantastic - super flavorful and had a lot of depth. While I cannot comment on the service or ambiance as we had this for catering, I have been told by my local friends that both are amazing as well. Hope to visit the brick and mortar shop next time I visit!

I had a lunch special, the Non-Vegetarian Thali, which came with a Vegetable Samosa, Dal Bukhara, Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, Rice, Raita, and a Gulab Jamun. This is the first time I've had a Thali and the presentation was beautiful. Vegetable Samosa: Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. Mild spicy. Dal Bukhara: Delicious lentil curry! I've never had this before (I usually get Dal Makhani), and I now know I prefer Dal Bukhara because it has lentils only. Butter Chicken: Delicious curry. I loved the smoky flavor and char on the chicken. The curry was perfectly spicy (I ordered medium spicy). The butter naan, rice, and raita were all good in supporting the dish. Gulab Jamun: A delicious sweet doughnut in syrup, a nice little treat before leaving the restaurant. The lunch Non-Veg Thali is a great deal at $24, especially for the amount of food you get (I ended up with leftovers too). I can't wait to come back and try their dinner and bar offerings!

We were seated immediately and ordered drinks which were out promptly. Jaljeera, wine and the cocktail urban turban special. I loved my jaljeera, perfect sweet and tangy spicy flavour. For starters we ordered chicken chapli kabab, tandoori fish tikka and dahi ke kabab. Dahi kebab was the winner, it was crispy and soft and went perfectly well with its sweet gravy which was good twist to this simple appetizer. My second favorite was the chapli kabab, it was so soft and juicy and very light on spice. Their fish dishes were a little disappointing, I guess the fish and preparation both were not impressive. For main course we ordered their malabar fish curry which again was a disappointment, punjabi chicken curry which was pretty good, but the daal bukhara stole our hearts, very well prepared and flavourful dish. We couldn't stop ourselves from ordering some desserts, so we ordered their balu shahi with Rabri and gulab jamun with icecream. Rabri was great, but balushahi was big, seemed undercooked and bland. It's very difficult to mess up gulab jamun so that was good. The service was fast and the people were so friendly. We paid tip over the bill that already had gratuity included since we dint know, and the person came back with money and returned it saying the gratuity is included. We loved the honesty and warm gesture of the people working there. I am really looking forward to visiting this place again soon and trying their other dishes.

It's a casual restaurant but all the decor and the modern touches with Indian influence gives it a great sultry vibe. Food: top notch. Thus far is our favorite Indian restaurant out there. The naan itself is freshly made and SOFT, thick, and has a nice chew. Best naan in the triangle area. Highly recommend the bread basket as you get a good variety of their different naans. The paneer pakora is crispy, piping hot, and has a great cumin and lightly salted taste. In the middle is mint chutney so it's has nice layers of flavors. The lamb palak was super tasty as well! The spinach was nice clay cooked where it was creamy with no bitter after taste. The lamb was fall apart tender! The lamb jalfrezi was also a show stopper, it was spiced, slight tomato sauce, and lambs again, super tender that can be broken up with just fingers. The malai chicken was good, but wasn't our favorite. The meat is tender, but I felt like the flavor wasn't hitting as much as the other two. It was lighter and even with the lemon it still felt like it was missing something. Overall: will definitely be coming back!

They brought us out some (I think) roti (crispy thin flat bread) with three different dipping sauces. A cilantro mint, a charred pepper, and a brown sauce. All pretty good. I ordered the Mulligatawny Soup and the Veggie Platter while my friend got the Chicken Tikka with a garden salad. The soup was just okay. It seemed to be very lacking in flavor at the restaurant. I took the rest of it home and ate it a couple of days later and it was much tastier. I guess it just need time for all the flavors to meld, I don't know. But the veggie platter was phenomenal. My favorites were the samosas (of course!) and the veg pakora. I would highly recommend those. My friend said her chicken tikka was just mid. Her garden salad was big and looked fresh and delicious. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the service either. The waiters constantly refilled our waters and the wait time was not long. They didn't even rush us when we spent an hour and a half at the table. The only reason this is a four and not a five is that there are other Indian restaurants close in this area that I enjoy the food more.

I'm a fairly practiced home cook that loves to make food-sciency dishes, Michelin inspired stuff, and true comfort food alike. Most places I've been I could now recreate the majority of the food on my own (including a variety of ethnic food, especially Indian). I think it would take me a few years to recreate ONE DISH from this place. I should seriously be spending time with my mother and grandmother but instead my head is currently buried in my phone while trying to envision the tastes that hit my tongue. Anyways, this place beat the brakes off my expectations, so let's get talking about food and service. First Impression: Upon walking into the restaurant, I was kindly greeted by the man working the front of house (Sonny) and he shook my hand after recognizing my voice. I called fifteen minutes prior to push our reservation and add a seat, but I did not expect to feel so welcomed and comfortable so quickly. Amazing hire and clearly keeps things running smoothly. No notes for the other staff either, they were all exceedingly kind, courteous, and responsive when we had questions. Ambiance: This greatly contributed to the fantastic meal we just had. They had flowers and balloons out for Mother's Day (which was not expected at all either), but also the whole place is filled with natural light and a simply great vibe when eating food. Music wasn't loud/distracting, acoustics never made me worry I was yelling either. The food also was so pretty that it just tied it all together organically. Appetizers: I think this place is pretty well known for its Gunpowder Lamb Chops. So I won't go into excessive detail, but yes it is just that fucking good that if you don't get it, you're probably not thinking straight. I will definitely be back for those because I wouldn't dare try to make it myself and ruin it. We also had this Chaat dish that was a more modern take and it was without a doubt the most creative Chaat I've ever tried. Excellent. Entrees and Sides: We ordered three entrees to share amongst 5 adults (although 2 are older folks) and had two small boxes of leftovers to argue over. The first thing that I tried was the Duck Vindaloo (9.8/10) - I knew immediately I would be writing my very first food review afterwards. I don't even know if putting duck in a vindaloo is conventional, but it's EPIC. My grandparents thought it was a touch sweet but I liked it better that way and it perfectly complemented the duck. Next was the Ember Lamb Shank Special (9.5/10) - which was of course amazing. I actually forgot to put the gravy on top for the first half of the lamb I ate, so the half point off is honestly my fault. Would've been a ten if I was locked in. We also got the Nustea Shrimp (10/10) - which I think you will have to try yourself to believe my rating. I won't even try to describe it other than the sorba (sauce) that we almost licked off the plate. Lastly, we had Naan (8.9/10), Chili-Garlic Naan (9.3/10), Raita (9.7/10), and a vegetable salad (9/10) on the side. I have always thought most Indian restaurants cheap out on the sides, but this one makes them expert level. I genuinely have no idea what the orange crunchy spheres in the raita were, but this was the only time I've ever had raita outside my home and liked it. Desserts and Beverages: We ordered the Kumbala Brulee (9.5/10, genius idea btw). The lovely staff ALSO gifted us some Raspberry cake (9.7/10) which was phenomenal. That was honestly the cherry on top that made me a true believer. Final Note: If you read this far and haven't made a reservation yet then unfortunately you didn't get the point... Go try this place ASAP I pinky promise you won't regret it. I even ordered a goat curry to go so my girlfriend could try the art they are calling food. Oh and did I somehow forget to add ALL THE MEAT IS HALAL??? What a way to put me in the running for favorite grandchild . And Sonny if you're reading this thanks for making this Mother's Day one of the best you're the man!!
