Visiting the area for some training, and the front desk at the Rizzo Center recommended Lime and Lemon. Glad they did. The moment I walked in, I was hit with those warm, spicy Indian aromas that instantly make you hungry. Friendly staff got me seated right away. The menu is huge, so I asked my waiter for recommendations. Usually a bit of a gamble, but this time it paid off big. He suggested the Cutlet Chaat, Saag Paneer, and Mango Lime Chicken. Every single dish was outstanding--deep, layered flavors, perfectly tender chicken, and that fresh, warm naan that pulls it all together. Each bite just lit up my taste buds. This is easily one of the best Indian meals I've had anywhere. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is solid, the options are plentiful, and everything comes out looking and tasting fantastic. I wish I could pack the whole place up and bring it back to my neighborhood in Columbus. If you're anywhere near here, make Lime and Lemon a priority. It's that good. The reviews for this place-on any site you look-are outstanding. I see no reason to dissent. Even in a crowded market for Indian food, this place had a lot to offer. Seeking takeout, I wanted a South Indian taste but the trademark delicacy from the region, the dosa (which this place does offer), does not travel well. As such, I ordered a bisibelebath, a lentil and rice mix with a distinctive mix of sour, spicy, and savory notes. I hadn't ordered that in years, but I wish I ate it more often. The restaurant is also notable for offering options with tofu for the non-dairy crowd, and I got a house special curry with peas to try that out, which was satisfying. A chaat with mixed chickpeas and potatoes was covered in abundant crispy noodles and delivered a sweeter but still savory flavor note. On the more indulgent side, I got a filled bread with some cheese. Even for takeout, they focused on making the experience outstanding. Everything was ready quickly, and they offered me a set of fryums, little starchy appetizers that are what I would have received had I eaten in. A spicy pickle of probably mango was included as well. Strangely, they still gave me yet one more dish I did not order. I found the smell of my takeout bag utterly foul, and discovered that they had given me some sort of cauliflower dish as well. I appreciate the thought, and they correctly gave me a vegetarian appetizer, but apparently they didn't consider that offering such a dish would not be a plus to those of us who are supertasters of cruciferous vegetables. I threw it out to prevent the food and my car from smelling like rotten eggs. Having said that, it wouldn't really be fair of me to knock them down for being generous. I love both Chapel Hill and Raleigh locations, but I personally think Chapel Hill location is stress free on the parking situation and has prettier interior design. If you are into cocktails or mocktails, they got you. I love trying their different drink and food options every time I visit. You cannot go wrong with any of the food you order, so don't be shy and try something new. Service is always superb - Everyone is so friendly and attentive. This is a great spot, the food is really good. There's a huge menu that's filled with all kinds of Indian dishes including South Indian dishes. It's hard to find a place that makes great Dosa's but they do it perfectly here. The service is always good, the servers are helpful and on top of everything. The space is really quite large so if you are looking for a place that will take big groups this is a fantastic option. They have a full bar and the drinks are solid. It seems that many of Lime & Lemon's customers enjoyed Lime & Lemon's Mango Lime Chicken, so I ordered that at spicy level, and I was a bit disappointed. Let's start with the positives: The dish was delicious; spiced well with hints of sweetness. The small pieces of chicken were tender and the ratio of chicken to sauce was fine. It seems that this was the most recommended chicken curry dish by servers and previous customers, based on reviews, and I thought they were accurate when it comes to the taste and quality. However, for a close-to-$20 dish, the portion size is small. There's a good amount of rice, but I expected more at that price level. And the rice was not basmati?! It would be more acceptable if this dish came with complimentary naan but none! While generally, most Indian restaurants serve this amount per order, they cost about $3 to $6 less than the Mango Lime Chicken's price. Ambiance was trendy, better than many Indian restaurants we've been to; it seems Lime & Lemon is divided into 2 sections: Restaurant & Bar. Both have dining tables, but I was taken to a table farther from the bar, where all the customers on a Saturday lunch time were. I like how I was able to self-serve water so refilling wasn't a problem. While the customer service was not bad, it wasn't excellent as what many past reviewers said about Edwin (Was he here?). Order was served fast, but wish there was that extra touch of care and hospitality I experienced in other Indian restaurants. The waiter who served me simply did his job without asking if I needed anything else or if I enjoyed the food. Overall, my high expectations were shattered, but I wasn't totally disappointed. There are certainly more authentic Indian restaurants in the Triangle, but I wouldn't call Lime & Lemon "un-authentic". I'm not an expert when it comes to Indian spices but this restaurant proved they can deliver the spicy tastes most people want from an Indian curry dish. We had Lime & Lemon Catering to celebrate a friend's white coat ceremony from UNC Medical School and wow was it delicious. I live in an area in the Midwest with a relatively smaller South Asian population, so it is truly a treat to come to an area like this in NC where there are South Asian restaurants everywhere. I have heard that Lime & Lemon might be the best one around as well, and while I haven't tried them all - it was certainly the best I had. We ordered rice, gobi manchurian, samosas, garlic naan, butter paneer, and a mushroom curry. I had all but the mushroom curry as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms and it was insane. My favorites were the gobi and the paneer. The gobi was so crispy and the coating was so tasty, truly one of my favorite dishes in general. The butter paneer was also fantastic - super flavorful and had a lot of depth. While I cannot comment on the service or ambiance as we had this for catering, I have been told by my local friends that both are amazing as well. Best Indian food I've ever had hands down! I don't say this lightly. There's a reason this place has so many positive reviews, it totally lives up to the hype! A friend and I came for dinner on Friday evening and made a reservation just in case. There were plenty of times available, but as we sat there we noticed it getting busier and busier so just to be safe I'd make a ressie. This is a popular shopping center in Chapel Hill. Parking - pretty easy, but since it can get crowded you might not get a spot right by LNL. Ambiance - the restaurant is absolutely beautiful! And super clean. The restrooms stood out to me, too, as particularly clean and private. There's a large dining room with a separate bar area. There are some "patio" tables but mainly just on the sidewalk. This would be the only area I'd suggest improvements, but physical limitations could be the issue. Service - amazing! Our waiter, Edwin, was wonderful. He gave great recommendations and was extremely attentive. Plus friendly and made our experience extra memorable. Food & drink - We each had an Old Fashioned and it was very tasty. At Edwin's recommendation, we both ordered the Mango Lime Chicken and a side of Garlic Naan. Divine! That slightly sweet, spicy, creamy, tangy sauce perfectly blankets the tender and juicy chicken. They marinate the chicken for 17 days we were told! The garlicky, buttery, pillowy naan complemented everything so well. Easily two meals. Prices - super affordable! Especially for the portion sizes. We polished off dinner with a (complimentary!) palate cleansing shot given by Edwin. It was really unique with almost a Christmassy flavor? Hard to explain so you just have to try for yourself! I'm a full time road-tripping traveler who has criss-crossed the country a few times in the last few years, but this is my first time in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area. My friend Martha treated me to lunch at the Lime and Lemon Grill and Bar, citing that it was her favorite Indian restaurant here in Chapel Hill. The experience did not disappoint. My favorite Indian dish is chicken tikka masala, so that's what I started to order, but our server encourage me to try the mango lime chicken. He promised that if I didn't love it, he would not charge me and would bring me my initial choice. (Well played Edwin, well played!) Martha also ordered the chicken tikka masala, but substituted paneer in place of the chicken. We also enjoyed cocktails - a Pink City for Martha and a Cochin Countryside for me. (My cocktail was ok, but it didn't knock my socks off.) We also ordered a side of garlic naan. Hands-down, it was the best garlic naan I've ever had in my entire life. I literally swooned at the table (embarrassing, but true). The mango lime chicken was so delicious that it almost caused me to have a mouth orgasm. (I'm not kidding!) The decor and ambience was equally great- the yellow makes the place pop without being overwhelming or obnoxious. Heck, I even loved the way the menus looked- very classy! We ordered uber eats from this restaurant on Saturday night and were oretty satisfied but wanting for more. We ordered the chicken biryani, tabdoori platter and the salmon tikka masala. The biryani and tandoori platter were not too bad, but i would have liked it to be spicier. They did not provide any chutney either which was a let down. Was in town for a conference and some colleagues recommmened this place for a meet up. Atmosphere: VERY clean and modern. The decor was really cute, bright colors, perfect lighting. Nice music Service: it was crowded but we were seated immediately. The host EDWIN was so amazing. He broke the menus down for those who had never had Indian food before and you could tell he knew what he was talking about. He recommends the Mango Lime chicken. I initially wanted the tikka masala chicken. They both taste very similar. For $18.99 you did get a lot. It was shareable portions Everything came out within a decent amount of time. My naan was so good. We got garlic naan and spinach/cheese naan. Highly impressed by the spinach and cheese naan! Please try it! He also brought out another dish (on the house) and I can't remember the name. It was a large crepe shell filled with potatoes and veggies. On the side it had different sauces to dip it in. I loved it. Lastly I had a virgin Shirley temple. Very good Overall I'd visit this place on the regular if I lived in the area. Edwin made sure we were full. Brought us fresh rice and naan to take home. The other workers started to clean the tables as soon as people were leaving and whatever they use smelled so refreshing. This is one of my favorite Indian spots to visit in the Chapel Hill area! It's very close to UNC campus so I like the location for the convenience. The restaurant is decorated in a green and yellow "lime and lemon" theme which is very cute. Foodwise, my favorite dish has to be the butter chicken. I've had butter chicken from other Indian restaurants in the area and this place makes it the best. I will order the butter chicken either medium or hot depending on my mood. Medium heat is not very spicy, there is barely any kick to it. Although the hot dish is decently spicy that will make my nose water. They have decently generous portions. If I am starving, I will be able to finish the entire portion in a sitting, but usually an entree will last me two meals. Finally, the service is fantastic. The employees are always kind, attentive and the food comes out very fast. I have always had a great experience here. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for good Indian food! I always find myself coming back here for more butter chicken! read more

We ordered 4 items to go: - Lamb vindaloo - Garlic naan - Avocado dosa - Chicken tikka masala We arrived when they told us the food would be ready. We started to nosh on the naan, saving the rest for our arrival at home. The restaurant has a corporate mall feel ... not unusual in these parts, but I'm glad we were getting the food to go. Since we were on time, we expected the food would have been freshly served just as we arrived -- apparently the order was ready some time before that ... and had been sitting in a bag waiting for us. As the garlic naan had been sitting for a while, it was pretty awful (freshly made it can be great, it was obviously added to the order well before the promised pick-up time, and was somewhat soggy). The chicken tikka masala was fine. The rice that accompanied the rest of the food was also fine (just plain white rice). The dosa was a plain dosa, not the avocado dosa we'd ordered. Not worth the trip back to rectify that, but more than disappointing. The lamb vindaloo was orange (usually vindaloo is brown or dark brown) and had a strong taste of tomato, unlike any vindaloo I've ever had -- again, disappointing. Perfectly edible, but not a classic vindaloo in any sense. The restaurant had been strongly recommended to us -- but it didn't measure up. We won't be going back. read more
