We had an excellent meal for our first visit to Lime Cantina. Staff was super friendly and efficient, food was served hot and well presented. The three of us had the chicken enchiladas, carne asada and barbacoa tacos and all were delicious. We started off with the guacamole which was exceptionally fresh and paired with the amazing hot chips, was almost a meal in itself! As a local I will continue to go to Lime Cantina because the steak street tacos are absolutely amazing. So are the chips and salsa. However, I have tried other items and have not liked them. Fajitas were only ok. The cheese sauce is not good no matter what it is covering . The guacamole is only flavorful when mixed with the salsa. I love the decor in the restaurant and enjoy the outdoor music. read more

We stopped in for an early dinner Saturday around 6 p.m. and this place was packed. One hour wait for a table, so we sat at a table in the bar area and got served promptly. Based on the fabulous chips and salsa (both were homemade and filled with spicy goodness!), we eagerly awaited our shrimp "street" tacos and fish tacos. What a waste! There's nothing worse than bland food, especially bland Mexican food. The shrimp tasted like it had been boiled. No salt, no pepper, no nothing. The mahi was marginally better, but not much. The toppings of pickled onion and a bland white cheese didn't help. Cheese and seafood? That's just wrong. The tortillas were raw and falling apart. On the upside, the service was EXCELLENT! Fast and friendly. But, all in all, it was a waste of $50. We shrugged our shoulders and shook our heads at line out the door when we left. read more

Great good and friendly staff with many tapas size plates. The Mexican wings are the best wings around. Great taste and char grilled after frying. Or try the 56 hour sous vide short ribs for a full size dinner. Excellent country music on Friday and Saturday on the patio which is in a pleasantly heated tent for the Covid winter. read more

Best Mojito I've ever had; perfect balance of lime flavor, tartness and sweet. Tostada Salad with Chicken was very good; chicken was grilled just right. The chips and salsa were absolutely superb! The chips were deep fried and crunchy; the salsa had a delicious, smoky flavor - perhaps made with fire-roasted tomatoes? (I forgot to ask.) I ate so many chips and salsa I barely had room for my Tostada Salad. I went with two friends. One raved about her Steak Skewers; the other was under-whelmed with her Street Tacos. read more

I have stopped in here several times for lunch or early dinner and have really enjoyed every experience. The cocktails are excellent - I especially enjoy the margarita flight. And the food is right there with the drinks! We love that they make the chips in house and the seasoning is fantastic. We often have to stop ourselves from eating the chips so we don't fill up before actual dinner. It is also really fun to stop in when they have music outside on their large patio. This is definitely more on the casual side, so bring the whole family!! read more

Best chips and salsa at a Mexican joint ever. There I said it. BEST EVER. Get the queso too. I went here for girls night. I had the street tacos and tried 3 different ones and they were all stellar. Service was slow but we were drinking and they were so amazing about it and kept apologizing. They were so kind and the food was so good and worth it in the end. To come up with food like this during a pandemic is amazing. When I got my bill and saw how how cheap it was I texted my husband and said "I'm taking you here on our next date night!" Me and my husband had very high expectations... the heated tent, Mexican food, drinks... what's there not to love? We couldn't have been more wrong. The "heated" tent was was nothing short of a circus tent, with multiple babies screaming through the entire dinner (not the restaurants fault but just be prepared how much sound echos in there) Our server was extremely slow, and the rice and beans tasted like a birthday card. read more

Going in I had high expectations (one of my friends said it was the best Mexican in Milwaukee)-he was not wrong. To start, we got the Queso Fundido. The flavor in the chorizo was unbeatable and I will recommend this dish to everyone in the Milwaukee area. As my main I got the duck tacos. These tacos had the perfect blend of texture and flavor, something very hard to find in Milwaukee. Overall, these may have been some of the best tacos I ever had. Personally, I am not a big drinker, but I decided to get the spicy mezcal paloma. While my judgment of drinks may not be the highest of quality I must say this is one of the best cocktails I ever had. The perfect amount of spice in this drink paired well with the food we got. We made reservations for a later Saturday night dinner and were seated promptly . There seemed to be only one waitess for crowded restaurant area but an abudance of bartenders. We were patient with our server because she was so busy. Chips and salsa came around 10 minutes after we were seated so that was good. Our food took close to an hour and was highly unsatisfactory...duck tacos had absolutely no flavor and luckily there was enough mole to cover them. Literally only a thimble sized serving of coleslaw was the side. My partner had chicken fajitas..chicken was dry and hard...only 2 tortillas..no salsa or other condiments or rice. He waited another 20 mintes for a beverage refill...3 bartenders with only 5 patrons sitting at bar. Food has definately gone downhill since opening. Will not be back. I am split in this review. Wings were excellent as always. Mahi tacos were OK. One bartender working were there should've been three. He was doing his best with a great sense of humor. But waits for drinks were long. No silverware and napkins. No plates. I think he was doing the best under the circumstances, but to let a single bartender handle the work of three is unfair and will only bring more reviews like this. I do give them credit as they were the only bar other than Stilt House open on Tuesday. Hope they staff up soon so I can give them a four or five star review. read more

I ordered curbside on my way home from work and let me start with this process, because it was very smooth. The hostess took my order, told me it would be fifteen minutes, and asked the make of my car so they could watch for it. She came out as soon as I pulled up, ran my card, and returned with my food. I have no doubt that the serving staff runs the same efficiency for in-house diners. The menu is limited but I wanted chimichangas and they offered four mini chimichangas on their small plates menu. They offer a few Mexican restaurant staples on their small plates menu and most can be mix/matched with different meats. I did 2 barbacoa and 2 pork. We also ordered nachos and the mole ribs. The chimichangas and ribs were very good, however I was disappointed that there weren't vegetables in the chimichangas. The photos show pico and pickled red onions, but my to go order did not contain these ingredients. They did come with two sauces which were basic but delicious. I also wish the nachos had some vegetables but I will say, the menu does only specify cheese and a protein... which is exactly what they were. One of our dishes came with a side of guacamole, which could have used some cilantro but was still decent. We also got a large serving of chips and salsa, which I was not expecting. I don't know if the chips are homemade, but omg they were the main event. Thick, well seasoned, and perfectly crisp. Overall, this restaurant is newer and figuring things out during "unprecedented" times. I am excited to watch them grow and we will certainly try them again as they develop! read more

The one star I've given is simply for the margaritas. The first time i went here (about 6 months ago) my mom and I were seated for lunch and we placed drink orders right away. We then placed our food order and chips and salsa were brought to us (chips are handmade but honestly not my favorite). We received our food and half way through our meal we got our margaritas. Now, the bartender called out and someone else was making drinks. Not sure if thats why our drinks were so strong buuuuut they were good! Second time I went was about 3 months ago for dinner. There was too long of a wait for a table (time crunch as we were trying to catch a movie) but we ended up ordering a flight of margaritas (so good, again!) and some apps at the bar. No real complaints here. Tonight I tried to go for dinner with my boyfriend and mom. I will say we didn't have a reservation but we were quoted a 10 minute wait. After 20 minutes the couple who walked in after us asked where they were on the list. They were told they're "next up." I questioned if they're "next" where were we? The hostess admitted she forgot about us and told us she'd get us a table "right away." After waiting an additional 10 minutes we decided to remove ourselves from the list and find dinner elsewhere. I will say, they had a magician walking around, I think Caleb is his name (and he's there every other Wed), and he did do some pretty fantastic card tricks as we waited in the bar area.......glad he was there to give us a silver lining in our 30 minutes spent waiting to never get to sit and eat. read more

I've been to Lime Cantina numerous times and had always been a good experience. Tonight i was excited to take my adult kids out to dinner. We ordered drinks, waiter came back without drinks but we ordered food anyway. Food came out and still no drinks. People next to us came in after us and were in their second round. Waiter said he wasn't sure where they were. We had to ask for water, and again asked for drinks. Still didn't come. Bit into my chicken taco and there was a bone. Just a real turn off when eating a taco. Asked where our drinks were again but by then was just not impressed and told him about the bone. Laughed and said this is not a good experience. The manager came over and asked what the problem was. Said we never got our drinks and bone in my taco and I just wanted a box for my food. He was either the owner or manager and very condescending and rude. Never apologized and made us feel we were in the wrong. Then our drinks came. Too late. We were done because of his attitude toward us. He didn't charge us for drinks or my chicken but because of his attitude toward me I will not go back. Disappointing because it has been a cute, fun place. read more

The queso curds and nacho apps were pretty good. My carne asada, the steak part was good. The Brussel sprouts were horrible. The potatoes ok. My wife's Mole Enchiledas were HORRIBLE. Super dried out and burnt badly around the edges and the mole was more of a sweet bbq sauce than real mole. The rice tasted like rice-a-roni and the beans were straight from a can. The service was super slow and bad. The manager removed the enchiledas (thank-you) from our bill. If this continues they will not stay open long. read more

Ugh. This is hard because I really was rooting for this place to begin with. Unfortunately, even giving one star was painful. We tried to give this place a third chance for date night... we went for drinks and they were absolutely terrible, we couldn't even finish them! We ordered a Moscow mule which is supposed to be a delightfully fizzy drink made with fiery ginger beer, vodka and fresh lime. I watched the bartender pour vodka on ice, then grab an open can (of what I assume was ginger beer), pour it into the cup, drop in a lime wedge and hand it to me. It was dull, not fizzy which I assume because the can had been sitting there too long and the proportions were way off. Their margarita I ordered was also...funky. It just wasn't good, almost like a sugary premix with minimal tequila. It was really hard to choke down either of the drinks. The staff isn't the friendliest either and I know from experience, from the last time we were there, the owners don't do well with any sort of criticism so we kindly paid, pushed our full drinks to the side and excused ourselves. I would like to note we did hear the bartender say she was the only one bartending and they were backed up. However, the edgy attitude and carelessness of making the cocktails was a huge turn off. If there had been at least minimal effort in her part I think we would have chalked it up as another establishment having a hard time with staffing. We're pretty lenient about that and understanding. Although we've tried the food twice before we didn't eat this time, and it's really not worth it. Which truly sucks because we love supporting small business in our community. There's a great place just across the street with wonderful staff, carefully crafted cocktails and delicious food. This place just isn't it... Unfortunately, they need a huge fix in their cocktails and customer service. read more

typically dont give poor reviews but after our third time there feel it is well deserved. Each time hostess seemed incompetent and confused. While the margaritas are good the food is so-so and honestly not with the wait. Chips are homemade but disappointing. Worst part is after a frustrating experience the last time we were there where we were completely forgotten and chose to leave after a couple who came in after us was seated (went to New Fortune across the street and highly recommend) I chose to send an email to try and give some feedback , I was completely shredded by the owner who accused me of not supporting small business. Worst experience. The food was actually pretty good but the communication and management was horrendous. It took them 40 minutes to get our table waters and did not communicate any up charges. They up charged me $4 to add bell peppers to a quesadilla but didn't tell me so it was a surprise on my bill. The first time I went here was fantastic! Elote is the bomb and the bartenders were absolutely great! I couldn't wait to come back. Went for the second time this week end. I had 3 girlfriends with and we were talking a little loudly but that is just because we were having a great time in the first hour of being in Cedarburg. We bellied up to the bar, I received my drink and then the older gentleman behind the bar looks at my friend and said "No. I'm not serving you." Why he couldn't have even asked us to be a bit quieter before just refusing is very unprofessional. Needless to say I had to leave a full drink there and I am not sure I will go back. read more

Had a great time...the first time I went...like a year ago. Went back last night and was disappointed. The margaritas were still awesome, but the fajitas were sad (dry steak, no grilled peppers, just a huge plate of dry steak and semi-grilled onions, no lettuce and had to ask for sour cream and shredded cheese). The guacamole wasn't fresh either; tasted like old avocados. Was hoping for a great wedding anniversary dinner, but, again, was disappointed. read more
