First of all, I LOVE CHIMICHANGAS but these were NOT good. They were all mushy on the inside. They seemed fried but not enough. My husband said, "i should have ordered fajitas cuz these are awful". My taco was good, my Enchilada was hard cheese inside and my Enchilada was disgusting. I've had Lobo's Chimichanga more times than I can count. They're normally great. When the waitress came to ask how everything tasted, we were honest. My husband had only eaten half of one of three of his Chimichanga plate. The waitress brought back another waitress who started to "school" us on what a Chimichanga is and how it is always mushy. According to her, it is all cheese. To their credit, they did reduce our bill because of my husband's meal. The service was good but the food was absolutely terrible. FYI...we've eaten at Lobos for years and enjoyed the food. Stopped in for a late lunch and the place was empty. Had a seat at the bar and was seen to immediately. The menu has a fair amount of options and few things you don't see too often around the Midwest like chile rellenos! I ended up going with the Panchos special (forgot to take a picture?!) which was rice, beans, a chimichanga, an enchilada and a soft taco. I really enjoyed all of the entree but did have to ask for hot sauce which was also great! The chips weren't my favorite as I think they need salt, but the salsa was good. Overall I'm happy with the experience and will definitely be back. read more

This was our first time going here. We probably should have been here many years earlier. It's legitimate Mexican food. I was a little worried that it was going to be greasy Mexican food similar to a place that serves some paper plates in downtown Milwaukee. It totally was not. It was legitimate good food. Between everybody, we ordered enchiladas, chimichangas, margaritas, and fajitas. All the food was awesome. They gave plenty of food and didn't cheap out on the chips, charging you for baskets or anything. You could eat the chips without being charged. The margarita was great. The food was hot, and the service was pretty fast. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. We will definitely be going back to this place instead of other fake Mexican restaurants or Tex-Mex places nearby. This is the winner. read more

Someone needs to sit down and have an honest John Taffer type of conversation with ownership. Most items on the menu are so flavorless I wonder what kind of taste buds the exec chef has. When this place first opened it was busy. Now their business is much slower and my bet is that they get very few repeat customers because honestly the food is not up to par! Not happy with having cut back on portions and sustaining mediocre service, the only thing this place had left going for them was the above par Margaritas. However, on my very last visit a week ago only to taste this greatness, I sadly confirmed the once great tasting drink has also fallen victim to whatever is plaguing this establishment that is struggling to perform as it once was. These watered down Margaritas now taste like the ones poured out of a bottle of Cuervo Margarita mix. Terrible! This will be my very last review since my wife has sentenced Lobos to the places never to return. Too bad the management doesn't seem to care. We had a great experience! They have a great patio area which is what we were looking for. We ordered some margaritas and some cheese dip and the margs were deliciousssss!!! I could have drank another few! We had our kid so it was good that they had a good kids menu. Our waitress was so nice and even popped a few jokes with us. My wife and I ordered tacos and they were so good. It's like your classic Mexican food. Great desert too. We didn't sit inside but it seemed they had a full bar and a lot of other activities. I believe there might have been a one water - per person - per visit policy in place at this restaurant because the waiter never asked or brought us another after we finished the first one. There are two main Mexican restaurants located around Grafton, Lobo's and Highland House. Generally speaking, Lobo's has better food and Highland House has better margaritas. Although, if you like blended margaritas, Lobo's has a number of pre-made options spinning in those frozen machines, including a green and gold Packers one and a red, white and blue one. Like most Mexican restaurants, Lobo's puts out a bowl of chips and salsa while you review the menu. We have tried the guacamole a number of times. It tends to be pretty basic (not a lot of garlic or pepper flavor) with large chunks of avocado. The serving size is also fairly small. One of our favorite dishes is the green mole chicken. The mole is made with poblanos and rich with a little sweetness. It is very good. Although I often do not eat the rice and beans sides when I am at Mexican restaurants (because I can't control myself around the chips and salsa - lol), the beans at Lobo's are very good and have a ton of flavor. Lobo's also has a decent kids menu that includes hot dogs, quesadas and tacos among others. read more

I haven't been here for a while, like at least a year since the last time. I remembered the food being a lot better. The chips and salsa were just ok. The chips were kind of stale and needed salt. The salsa was very mild. Perhaps their regulars like it that way though. I ordered the tequila chicken and the boys got the carne asada plates, which came with a tamale and chimimichanga. Our food came out pretty quickly and the portions were very generous. The boys said theirs was pretty good, especially the chimichangas. My chicken was pretty bland and I could not taste any tequila flavor. I added a bunch of hot sauce and it was better. Everything tasted fresh but not as flavorful as I was hoping for. Service was also good. Quick and friendly. We ended up taking about half our meal home as the portions are very large. read more

We had not tried this place for a few years as we had kind of forgotten about it due to mediocre food. We tried it again and found the same. The chimichanga was bland and the chips were chewy. The fajitas were fresh and hot, but lacked any seasoning whatsoever. The Guacamole was pureed to the consistency of baby food and lacked any hint of flavor. same for the beans and rice. My favorite mexican restaurant. The food is phenomenal. Margaritas are so good. The salsa is yum. My kids always love coming here. You always feel welcomed when you walk in. The owner is so funny. Horrible service & even worse food. The chips & salsa are just ok... maybe bought from Costco? But... when I asked for a spicier salsa (aka- one with taste) .. she brought me a squirt bottle of.... I'm not sure...? Gross! Literally uneditable! It's 2pm. Restaurant is empty.... & always is... it's empty for a reason! I'd love to see another actual "authentic" Mexican restaurant take over this prime real estate in Grafton! I have given this less than mediocre place, many chances for over 5+ years... sadly, it just gets worse!! I will never return! Just awful!! We were given a 20minute wait time for a togo order got there after 20minutes and waited another 30minutes before we got our order. Even spent money on a drink at the bar while waiting the extra time. Asked if we could have a comped togo chips and salsa for the incovinice of the addition 30minute wait time and was very rudely told no. We are frequent customers. I private messaged the owner and his reply is in the next paragraph where he instead of taking this message as feed back became bashing and rude. We would have had no problem picking our food up in 45minutes had that been told to us. We will no longer be supporting this unfriendly company. Very sorry, we try our best we can on Cinco de mayo and always some people don't appreciate that we start working since 5:30am to have everything ready for our customers but we can't control when everyone order Togo and come at the sime and we get very busy , some customers wore very happy to wait for a table for 45 to 50 minutes for a table and also people for order Togo for 45 minute to an hour because they understand that it's Cinco De Mayo and they understand and have patience. Sorry for you that don't understand our hard work, I have cooks and my self that whole day didn't eat because we wore so busy. Terrible service, terrible attitudes, manager ripped the check out of my hand when I said it was incorrect, they charged us double for drinks, then had a bitching match with me over it.... food was sub par, we would have had better food at Taco Bell.... manager then tells Greg he feels sorry to have a wife as mean as me. Funny, I totally kept my cool. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our drinks and our food and when we asked how much longer for our food she said one minute and it was more like 18 minutes... after 45 minutes before that, place was empty. Maybe 5 tables with people. OUR Waitress playing with her hair sitting at the bar. UMMMM GROSSS! Never checked back n asked how our food was when we finally did get it. Manager took off the over charge, n treated us like shit for it!!! I said they should take off my 2nd sangria too cuz it took so long and then he bitched me out over ordering a sangria if I dont like sangria.... Ummm he totally misunderstood, he didn't listen at all, terrible, terrible manager. One Waitresses drinking wine behind the bar. Our waitress sitting at the bar playing with her hair. Another wiping down menus at a table. If the kitchen is that backed up, maybe go in and help? Trust me. DO NOT BOTHER. Go to The Stillery across the street. That place is excellent. Been here 6 times and it has always been a really nice experience. One time when they said a 30 minute wait, it was only 10 minutes. The drinks, food and service are well above average in every case. I went to Lobo's Place with my roommate today as our curiosity for a good local Mexican restaurant teased us. Lobo's was the closest we could find. Now it was a shot in the dark going in with no online menu (hint hint), but the prices were decent. Around 10-15 an entree with sizeable portions. Service was slow, but it was dead on the inside so I understand. Food was tasty, but wasn't the best I've had. Either way I'd love to try again when the restaurant is lively. The food was the most authentic and flavorful Mexican cuisine we have had ... ever!!! Bar none!!! Our waiter, Arnoldo, was friendly, fast and funny. We would recommend Lobo's place to anyone enthusiastically and without reservation!!!! PS....We came for a nightcap the day before and had the homemade chocolate lovers cheesecake!!!!
