Peach bubble tea is good. Can't really screw that one up. Place is a bit small. Not uncommon to run out of seats. One of the few places in the area to get french macaroons, they're not bad. The bubble tea is pretty good considering Northampton is a smaller town but the staff is not very friendly most of the time and sometimes, they are downright rude. If you go to the store too close to the opening or within an hour of closing most of the time they do not have boba. Either that or they tell you to wait 25-30 minutes for the boba to cook. I've worked in fast food before, and if they know they're running out of boba, they should start cooking it beforehand. I went in after they were closed for two days and I wanted boba and they didn't have any, so I was going to get a waffle, but they didn't have any batter because they "just opened after a few days". All they had in the store was plain tea. I would recommend that they have more foresight in the future. read more

I make it a point to stop in every time I'm in the area. The employees here are great. I was introduced here as a delivery driver. I had no idea what bubble tea even was. It looked weird and I wasn't adventurous. The employees gave me a sample of the boba pearls and I love them! I follow boba things on Instagram now and even own a glass boba straw. I'm so obsessed! They even explained what they are, gave me some history on the tea, and the tapioca pearl cooking process. I do wish they had a reusable cup or bottle but I am glad they do sell reusable straws. This place never has boba!! 8/10 times I've gone recently the clerk gives some excuse. They're "out of boba for the night" every night within an hour of closing. I got a delicious Thai tea with boba and it didn't disappoint! The boba was so flavorful with hints of honey and obviously made fresh. It's the only place in the area that makes a great boba so they will do well! Highly recommended. read more

This quaint little tea house packs quite a punch. The ambiance is friendly & welcoming. The customer service is amazing! The workers are knowledgeable about their product & ever so patient and sweet. The variety of tea flavors they have give you the opportunity to fulfill you're every craving or whim. Their boba is always on point. Like most bubble tea locations, it isn't anything incredible, but they have some good tea options and it's great to have one in Northampton as an alternative to ice cream or frozen yogurt. The mango and peach teas with tapioca pearls of lychee are great. Very friendly staff. read more

Amazing little place to grab some of that thrilling concoction known only as bubble tea. I have seen a lot of places starting to offer this but don't waste your time and come here instead! When I first started coming here I would often get my drinks with boba in them, and while still amazing, my tastes have graduated to using the poppers they now have which are pearls with strawberry juice inside. They also offer dumplings that may take a little while to cook, but are so worth it. try the red bean! The store itself can be cramped and if you are a claustrophobic person you may have some trouble inside. It can get packed and not much standing room is available. However on a slower day it can be pretty nice to sit at the large plate glass window and people watch or draw a picture on some sticky notes and add it to the huge collage of art that adorns the space under the counter tops. Staff is amazing and friendly. and very knowledgeable about the products. Store space aside this is one of my fave places in Noho. I always enjoy coming here and chatting with staff and knowing I am going to get a great drink. read more

Very Americanized tea. It would be more authentic and better if they stick to the Asian procedure. Coming from where there is a bubble tea shop around every street corner, I find the milk tea not thick enough, and over sweetened. Honestly, it's really hard to find good bubble tea outside of the city, but this place was awesome! My tea wasn't too sweet and the boba was perfect. They make matcha just like they do in Hong Kong, which is probably even harder to find tbh. They even had egglet waffles! I ordered the almond milk tea and thought it was way too strong. I'm used to a soft almond flavor but this had a lot of almond extract in it. I also got the Mango Thai and Ginger Zing mochi. The rice tasted a little stale like it had been frozen for too long. We went in a little late so I didn't feel the most welcomed either. There are almost too many options here, and you might end up with something incredibly saccharine if you're not careful! However, I've found a lot of different drinks here to my liking, and can't think of anything more refreshing on a summer day. Personally, I prefer jellies and pops to boba these days (particularly matcha jelly). It's a small space with a small staff, so drinks can take a while sometimes - but at this point, I expect it, and it doesn't deter me from the deliciousness that awaits. read more

SEXIST TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS! I have been a loyal customer or Lime Red, my entire time I have been a student at Smith. Unfortunately, today I was a victim of sexist treatment by two of the male workers there. One worker was a large male wearing a hat, who took 15+ minutes to ask me about my order. I understand that he had many drinks to make, but there was no simple acknowledgement of any of the customers, and the guy behind me actually left because he was fed up with the customer service. Because I really wanted bubble tea, I pathetically waited there for 15+ minutes, until he decided he wanted to "graciously grace" me with any acknowledgement. I was a little annoyed when I put in my order because I had just waited 15+ minutes. Rather than apologize, a small Asian male worker, who I believe was off-duty, decides to insinuate a string of insults towards me with the large male barista. I also was not sure whether or not he was off-duty because he kept going behind the counter, but wouldn't help any customers, which worried me due to sanitary reasons. He passive-aggressively decides to say how much he hates customers with attitude because they can't help that they have to make a lot drinks. The large barista then goes on to respond that when he has to make a drink, he can't be bothered to help any customers because he likes to take his time and doesn't want to feel rushed. The two of them then decide to make fun of a female coworker, named Shannon, because she is always so hectic and rushed trying to help customers, while they prefer to take their time and not be bothered to help customers. This is absolute bullshit. Lime Red is a store based off of regular customers coming and supporting this store. If I was a 6 foot + man, none of these rude comments would have been said in front of me. However, because I am an asian woman, they think it's fitting to ridicule and make fun of female customers and co-workers. I will never support this store again. How can such sexist customer service be allowed in your store. You have lost a loyal customer! read more

I met up with some friends here and it was my first time in Northampton as well as my first time trying bubble tea. It was a nice little place and the bubble tea was very good, although the taste of boba does take some getting used to for someone who's never had it before! It's definitely a cute little shop though, with plenty of options, and I really enjoyed their mango bubble tea. I'll stop by here again when I visit Northampton. read more

Lovely, refreshing drink after a long hot bike ride on the Manhan Rail Trail. Eleven miles merits a treat! I had a 22 ounce, Assam Black Milk Tea with boba, 25% sweet. It was fantastic! Service was friendly and quick. The shop is air conditioned, an extra bonus, and they have wifi. I sat at a window seat and watched Northampton go by. A pleasant experience. Cost $5.35. A little pricey, so not something I could do every day, but I'll be back. read more

Had the mocha bubble tea which was great but the 3 star review is because of the obnoxious friends that were visiting the staff on duty. A group of about 6 of them came in and was very loud, at one point I could not hear myself speak! I have grown to love the teahouse, especially the milk tea and bubble teas. My favorites are the honeydew milk tea with mango pop and the passion fruit iced with lychee pop. (though any of the fruity iced ones are fantastic!) I have tried begging for a location in Burlington, VT as that is where I am now but alas, until I find my inner entrepreneur, I will have to make the 3 hour road trip to Northampton. I went here for the first time a few days ago after looking pseudo-extensively for bubble tea teahouses in the area. I have had bubble tea a few times from teahouses in and around Boston's Chinatown and I was looking for something local. I would say I had lower expectations this time around and I was pleasantly surprised. They have an extensive list of options -- matcha, boba, and everything in between -- and a list of their most popular options (good for newcomers like myself). I was feeling slightly adventurous and got Assam boba without milk, making the drink significantly stronger and less saccharine. It was quite good and I recommend it to anyone who thought that the milk-added drinks were too sweet. I also liked the ambiance of this place. They have the front face of their counter decorated with sticky note drawings (mostly of various anime/manga characters) and I thought it gave them a youthful/kitschy ambiance that worked well. The location was fairly easy to get to excepting the troublesome on-street parking that defines Pleasant Street. I did take one star off for the prices as I thought they were a little higher for what was offered than I would have liked relative to my past experiences. I would recommend this place if you are looking for bubble tea all the same as it is relatively hard to get locally. read more
